Christmas in Aarhus

This year the Crown Prince family celebrated Christmas Eve at Marselisborg Castle in Aarhus. They enjoyed the evening along with Queen Margrethe, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and all four children - Prince Nikolai, Prince Felix, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena. Before celebrating the evening together on December 24th, all of them attended a special Christmas church service in the beautiful Aarhus Cathedral. According to Billed-Bladet Prince Felix and his younger brother Prince Henrik arrived along with the Queen, here.

On December 25th five royal family members once again appeared at a church service in Aarhus Cathedral. This time Queen Margrethe was accompanied by both Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie. Wonderful to see all five of them together, here.

Greetings from the Crown Prince family

Friday, December 21st

Maybe the Crown Prince couple has started a new tradition. Last year a short video was also published of the couple and all four children decorated their Christmas tree. This year the family baked cookies. A wonderful short video of the family on occasion of Christmas. Reminds me a lot of what Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel have been doing with their children - like in 2013, here. Maybe Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were inspired by the swedish couple?

Nevertheless, it is a also a great opportunity for me to say "Merry Christmas". I wish you a beautiful day and evening with friends and family. Enjoy, have fun and make lots of new memories.

Meeting with Kræftens Bekæmpelse

Tuesday, December 18th

Last time we saw the Crown Princess, she attended a Christmas concert in DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen. The concert was preformed by one of her latests patronages - DR Girls Choir, here.

A few days later she participated a meeting with Kræftens Bekæmpelse. Crown Princess Mary participated the meeting all unofficially. CEO of Kræftens Bekæmpelse, Jesper Fisker opened the meeting with a few words. With great attentiveness the Crown Princess was given a view on ongoing activities and projects.

Participating the meeting with among others the CEO of Kræftens Bekæmpelse, Jesper Fisker she wore an incredible outfit. A great business look. Mary embraced her outfit by wearing a brand new printed blazer and matching blouse. Love that she wore two printed pieces. She had chosen simple black trousers as well. After a few confusing days trying to identify the new blouse and matching blazer, I actually managed to. Both pieces I found at Dea Kudibal, here. From what I know this is the first time we see her wear clothes from that designer.

Mary had chosen only a few accessories. I see a pair of black pointed boots or pumps. A bit hard to tell because the lack of quality pictures. Are you able to tell? Bottega Veneta carried all her most important belongings. A simple and easy outfit to wear at almost any occasion. How would you style that new blouse and blazer? Like Mary or something completely else.

DR Girls Choir's Christmas concert

Sunday, December 16th

It was a proud patron the Crown Princess arrived to DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen to attend DR Girls Choir's Christmas concert. What a wonderful event for her to attend before Christmas Eve next week. Somehow I thought she would bring her family as she did at the Danish Music Conservatory's Children's Choirs Christmas concert on December 8th, here. But that was not the case. Nevertheless it seems like Crown Princess Mary really enjoyed the afternoon with a lot of wonderful music.

This year was a bit more special for the choir, because they celebrate its 80th anniversary. On this occasion a following anniversary reception took place with Crown Princess Mary as guest of honor. All I see, is a sincere and proud Crown Princess.

As mentioned the Crown Princess is new patron of the DR Girls Choir and on that occasion new pictures have been taken, here. You find a short video from the photoshoot, here. According to the Facebook page of DR Gils Choir, the pictures will be available last week.

What a wonderful look. Love everything about it. I barely know how to describe how I feel. Adore the combination of colours, silhouettes and fabrics. Simple and elegant.

At the arrival she wore her wool coat from JOSEPH over her shoulders. A great way to wear a coat - something like a cape. Maybe a bit unpractical, but fashion sometimes has to be. Mary embraced the style by wearing a brand new white blouse from Jesper Høvring's "Great Greenland" collection and a textured maxi midi skirt. I still do not know anything about the skirt. I need a more pictures than those I have already. Do you know anything? I would really like to find it.

Even the accessories Mary wore impresses me - white pearl earrings and a matching ring. Both pieces are from Dulong Fine Jewelry. The blue clutch is from Quidam. I am sure to remember the bright red embellished pumps. She first wore them back when the couple presented The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes in 2017, here. At the time she matched the pumps with a light blue dress made by Cecilie Bahnsen. This time it works way better in my opinion. Seems like the pumps comes to its hight with the white blouse and full skirt. Yes I can not hide my excitement.

The Queen's Christmas event

Wednesday, December 12th

Wednesday afternoon Queen Margrethe hosted a Christmas event at Christians Castle in Copenhagen.   She had invited the royal staff and people who were specially involved in Prince Henrik's illness and funeral. I am sure it ment a lot to the Queen to be able to thank everybody for their help and care in past year. And what better way to do that than in December? The Crown Prince couple and all four children also joined the Queen at Christiansborg Castle, here.

Not many pictures have been published from the event that show Mary and the rest of her family. Luckily we got a few pictures. These are also the one who are going to tell of what Mary had chosen to wear at this very special event. She embraced the style in a ice blue dress seen at a previous event, here. It has been told to be a creation by Jesper Høvring, but I have never been able to confirm it. Do you know anything about the dress? To me it looks like she added her beige suede clutch from Hugo Boss (collection: BOSS). Then it is likely that she wore matching pumps - don't you think? I a way I also think Mary wore a brooch. Personally I think it could be her aquamarine blue diamond brooch, given to her by mother-in-law on occasion of the birth of Prince Christian in 2006. For sure you know which one I am talking about. That would perfectly match the event and outfit.

A status update

About a year ago or so I decided to open my very own Pinterst account in the name of my blog. Pinterst is a great social media and I fell in love with it instantly. After awhile I thought I would give it a try on a more "professional" level. You all warmly congratulated the news and have followed my along the way. When getting an account I was also a bit skeptical because I had the idea that 'Style of Mary' would always (only) be a blog. I took a chance and I am glad I did. The thing is: it really never worked for me. To blog is a passion; a hobby and that is the way it should be. Less time is available and I want to focus on blogging. That is what I am good at. That is what I do. So, now 'Style is Mary' is back at where we started - as a blog.

I want to thank you for all your support and following me on Pinterest. Who knows? - maybe you will find me somewhere else out there on another social media? Time will tell. Hope you keep on reading, commenting, having fun and sharing your passion with me.

Thanks!

Visiting 'Kræftværket' at Rigshospitalet

Tuesday, December 11th

Tuesday morning the Crown Princess attended a conference at Eigtveds Pakhus in Copenhagen. The conference focused on gender equality and health for women in the private sector. It was organized by Sex og Samfund, Investeringsfonden for Udviklinglande (IFU) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, here.

Later in the evening she payed an unofficial visit to Kræftværket at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, here. Kræftværket is a place to meet for young diagnosed with cancer. Here the young patients got the opportunity to meet others the same age; in the same situation as themself.

Crown Princess Mary has visited Kræftværket several times the last couple of years, here, here. Last year she also visited Rigshospitalet unofficially. Seems like everybody enjoyed spending the evening together. There was room for both laughter and vulnerable stories, which is also what Kræftværket is all about.

Visiting Kræftværket Mary was beautifully dressed in a reuse Britt Sisseck blouse and fitted black trousers. Actually we have seen this combination once before - the blouse and trousers. A really lovely match, don't you think? I would really love to have seen some more pictures from her visit. But we have to do with what we have so far.

To me it looks like she embraced the style with golden jewellery. First of all I see her wearing a golden bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry featuring diamonds. She has worn this pieces quite a lot lately. Then she is wearing a golden ring. A leaf shapes as a ring. It is from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Usually Mary wears this ring with a diamond band as well, but not this time. I also see golden earrings. My first assumption about the new golden earrings was that they could be from Orit Elhanti. I made a request and it was confirmed. Mary wore custom-made earrings from Orit Elhanti. They are available online with opals.

I imagine her wearing either black pumps are boots to match the rest of her look. A simple and good-looking outfit.

Conference on gender equality and health

Tuesday, December 11th

On December 6th and 7th the Crown Prince couple visited Latvia for the celebration of Latvia's 100 years being an independant state, here, here. The following day on December 8th the Crown Princess attended the Danish Music Conservatory's Children's Choirs Christmas concert, here with her family.

Tuesday morning Crown Princess Mary then attended a conference arranged by Sex og Samfund, Investeringsfonden for Udviklingslande (IFU) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The conference was entitled 'Responsibility and profitability: Gender equality and women's health for companies and investors' and focuses business development through equality and health for women in the private sector. Eigtveds Pakhus in Copenhagen housed the conference.

The Crown Princess was in a splendid mood while attending the conference. It was a great opportunity for all attending the conference to share knowledge, visions, goals and experiences. Crown Princess Mary captured everything beautifully in her speech. Take a minute and read what she had to say, here.

Getting ready to spend a day talking about gender equality and women's health in the private sector Mary had chosen to wear a comfortable and chic outfit. This is a look that is quite easy to copy if you like to. Mary matched a pair of black trousers with a turtleneck and a brands new floral blazer. I do not know who identified it first, but I learned about her new blazer here. It has been found at SAND Copenhagen.

At the arrival she showed one of her good old pieces - her black Prada coat. Mary had also chosen another old goodie - that black leather bag from Bottega Veneta. Proves that things never go out of style. As other accessories she embraced the style by wearing pendant earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry and two golden bracelets from the same designer. I also see her Cartier bangle

Trying to identify her footwear I have come to the conclusion that she is wearing pointed black boots. Right? With only one picture it is all about guesswork. I suggest that Mary wore a pair of Gianvito Rossi boots. Those worn when she received 'the Danish Speakers' speaker prize' a month ago, here. Think I could be right about the boots? Let me know what you think and of course; tell me what you think about her outfit from the conference.

The Danish Music Conservatory's Children's Choirs Christmas concert

Saturday, December 8th

The Crown Prince couple has just arrived home from a two days visit in Latvia. The couple had been invited by Latvia's President to attend the 100th anniversary of Latvia's independence as state, here, here.

On Saturday Crown Princess Mary was to attend as guest of honor at the Danish Music Conservatory's Children's Choirs Christmas concert. This year it took place at the Conservatory Concert Hall in Copenhagen. Crown Princess Mary has been patron for the children's choir for quite a few years and. Each year she attend their Christmas concert. It has become a tradition for her to bring her family. So did she this year. She even brought her father, John Donaldson and his wife Susan Donaldson. What a way to celebrate Christmas. One big happy family arrived. They were all smily and in a great mood. The perfect way to gather ones family.

Attending the Christmas concert Mary showed up wearing a warm and cosy outfit. She mixed new and old pieces. At the arrival she wore an old black wool cape from Heartmade Julie Fagerholt. Among others, it was worn when Mary attended the official opening of the Mothers Help's House in Copenhagen two years ago, here. Embracing the style she matched the black cape with a cable-knit sweater found at Ralph Lauren by Heaven. This is a brand new sweater styled with a brand new floral printed skirt. Heaven managed to identify her new skirt as well. She found it at Prada. Personally I am not quite sure what to think about this piece of clothing. I will leave the commenting to you.

Mary had also chosen to wear quite a few remarkable pieces of accessories. The heeled boots are from Prada worn on several previous occasions. Same goes with the black Bottega Veneta hobo bag. Around her neck is a design by Katerina Pitzner. She was wearing a least two bracelets from Dulong Fine Jewelry and one is from Cartier. You know: her golden love bracelet. The two diamond rings are Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

The greatest thing about this concert event, is the fact that Mary brought her whole family. That was really a surprise.

Day 2. Officiel visit to Latvia

Friday, December 7th

On occasion of the 100th anniversary of Latvia becoming an independant state the Danish Crown Prince couple were invited to Riga. The official visit take place from December 6th to 7th.

The Crown Prince couple arrived to Riga (the capital of Latvia) on Thursday. They were warmly welcomed by Latvia's President, Raimonds Vējonis and his wife at Riga Castle at an official welcoming ceremony. They also visited the Freedom Monument in Riga, had lunch with the chairman of the Latvian parliament, Ināra Mūrniece and attended dinner in the evening with everything it takes to welcomed a Crown Prince couple.

On day two they couple first visited Art Museum Riga to watch the presentation of architectural drawings, which are to transform the old tobacco factory in Riga to a gathering place for creative expression. A conference for creative industries was also officially open during the vist at Art Museum Riga. Then, while the Crown Prince visited an exhibition on Danish design Crown Princess Mary payed at visit to Center Dardedze - an NGO that works for a childhood without abuse.

Finally, the couple visited 'A Century of Latvia". An exhibition at the National Museum showing Latvia's 100 years of independence. More than 1,000 unique objects, photographies, films, portraits, etc. are exhibited as part of 'A Century of Latvia'.

Dressed in white a light blue Mary looked like a dreamy winter wonderland. I am completely in love with everything about her outfit on day two. The combo of fabrics, colours and prints are incredible. I simply can not get enough of this outfit. What was your first thoughts? I have had several different designers in mind. I have made several requests. Now I learned that her new coat and matching skirt have been found at Strenesse. What a lovely finding. Her matching pink set from Andiata, here, reminds a lot of what she wore in Riga. Don't you think? This wool style looks great on Mary. She wore the two new pieces with a reused white printed blouse from Stine Goya seen a couple of times before, here.

Mary embraced the style by wearing light blue suede Gianvito Rossi pumps. They are a reused like the rather large white pearl earrings. These were first worn at an event in 2017, here. I was never able to identify them. The same goes with the ring on her right hand. It is still a true mystery to me. It is similar in style to something Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen makes, but I every found a thing to prove it.

Once again she showed off a golden diamond pieces from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Matching the rest of her outfit, she had chosen to wear one of her blue clutches from Quidam and leather gloves.

Day 1. Official visit to Latvia

Thursday, December 6th

-During the day-
Quite a while it was announced that the Crown Prince couple were to visit Latvia on December 6th to 7th. That's now. The visit is all about celebrating Latvia declaring their independence a 100 years ago. Denmark is part of that celebration, which is also why Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were invited to visit Latvia. They were invited by Latvia's President, Raimonds Vējonis, whom they were also welcomed by at the arrival. The royal couple are accompanied by the Danish Minister of Culture, Mette Bock.

Other than the 100 years anniversary of Latvia being an independant state; the visit also focus on design, art and history. They couple will attend several events on that occasion during the two days in Riga, Latvia.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrived early morning in Riga where they were warmly welcomed by the Presidential couple. Hundreds of people had showed up to get a glimpse of the royal couple arriving from Denmark. Afterwards, they were officially welcomed at a ceremony at Riga Castle. The couple payed a visit to the Freedom Monument in Riga and played a wreath in honor of those who died during a battle of making Latvia an independent state. It was revealed than 80 years ago.

Chairman of the Latvian parliament, Ināra Mūrniece hosted an official lunch for the Danish royal couple before it was time for the couple to have a few hours on their own.

No doubt that Mary arrived with style. She was dressed in pink from head to toe. Literally. Everything matched with perfection. Pink it no an easy colour to match with other pink pieces. But Mary managed that. She looked wonderful in a brand new bubblegum pink coat featuring a matching belt and rhinestones. The stunning creation has been identified by the designer as Claes Iversen, here. She could also be wearing a grey skirt from Dolce & Gabbana, first worn at the opening of the Parliament in 2015, here.

As first mentioned; also the accessories matched in colour. Mary has chosen to wear a brand new pink hat has well. It has been confirmed that Susanne Juul created her new hat. What a piece, right? It is very similar in style as this, here. Wish more women would wear hats - including myself... She also embraced the style with pink gloves, her old Bottega Veneta knot clutch and Gianvito Rossi pumps.

It is indeed pink. Maybe a little too pink for me, though she wear it with great elegance. Same goes with the jewellery - pure elegance. I see earrings, a ring and a golden bracelet from Danish Dulong Fine Jewelry. Pretty sure she could be wearing the golden Cartier bangle as well, but so far I have no pictures to prove it. Just a hunch.

I am overwhelmed to see her in such a bright colour this time a year. But it makes me proud to have her as Crown Princess, when she do such a great impression worldwide with what she wears.

-Dinner at Riga Castle-
After a few hours on their own the Crown Prince couple attended a reception in the concert house called Great Guild, which had been arranged by the Danish Embassy in Latvia, DCCL and the Danish Cultural Institute. About an hour later Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary watched a concert at the Great Guild, played by Concerto Copenhagen. What a remarkable name for an orchestra. The Presidential couple from Latvia also attended the concert along with the Danish Crown Prince couple.

All four of them meet afterwards at the official dinner taking place at Riga Castle. The Presidential couple hosted the dinner with Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary as guests of honor. The Crown Prince gave a speech as part of the official welcoming dinner.

Well, well, well. Mary in trousers at a dinner. That does not happen very often. At the moment I can not remember that we have ever seen that. At first glance I thought it was Queen Letizia of Spain that showed up on my screen. In fact it was my own Crown Princess. The whole look reminds me so much of something the Spanish Queen would wear. Nevertheless, it was Mary.

She embraced the style by wearing a brand new brocade blazer featuring a velvet collar. It is told to be made by talented Danish designer Jesper Høvring (collection: H by Jesper Høvring), who has created many of Mary's great evening gowns, here. This time it was a blazer. She wore her new bronze/golden blazer with fitted velvet trousers and a white blouse underneath. Heaven mentioned that the trousers could be from the same designers as the blazer. Tell me what you think about that.

No evening outfit without a little glitter. That is probably why Mary wore her black glitter pumps from Pura Lopez. We have seen then before, when she attended the presentation of the Danish Rainbow Award - AXGIL, here. I am sure you notified her diamond earrings as well. Somehow I think we have seen them before 10 years ago, when she attended the official opening of Skuespilhuset in Copenhagen, here. Thanks to one of you I am finally able to point out the specific event. What do you think? - is she wearing old diamond earrings? The diamond rings are from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Christmas reception with the Mary Foundation

Tuesday, December 4th

For quite some year it has been a tradition for the Crown Princess to host a Christmas reception at Amalienborg for the Mary Foundation and partners. So did she this year. Once again the reception took place at Frederik VIII's Palace in Copenhagen, here, here.

Crown Princess Mary and the foundation wished everyone merry Christmas and thanked for yet another year of great collaborations. The invited guests enjoyed a glass of glögg (a warm spicy drink), æbleskiver (pastry) and a chat. I am sure they all had a wonderful afternoon. Imagine a reception on your own surrounded by chandeliers, gold frames and wall size mirrors. Does not get any more magical.

Mary always show the most incredible outfit when hosting these Christmas receptions. She also did this year. She had chosen a lovely purple Prada dress. It was worn in 2014 when Mary attended a celebration show on occasion of the 200-year jubilee for the right to go to school. At the time she wore leopard pumps. I like to think she did so this time. The combo was epic - edgy and chic. In a way I think it is more likely that she matched the purple dress with black pumps. But I do not know anything for sure.

We also got to see a few outstanding pieces of jewellery. First thing I noticed is her butterfly brooch. It is shaped as the Mary Foundation's logo. Beautiful gesture. The stunning dusty pink pendant earrings are old ones from Dulong Fine Jewelry. They also come with other pendants - blue ones, diamond ones, here, even coral ones, here. I also see her golden Cartier bangle and two other pieces from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Simplicity and quality might be the words to describe the worn jewellery. Very elegant look.

UN's international disability day 2018

Monday, December 3rd

Monday afternoon Crown Princess Mary attended UN's international disability day 2018 taking place Handicaporganisationens Hus in Taastrup.

The disability day is an event to gather both danish organisations, collaborators and citizens. The event is a collaboration between Danish Disability Organizations, the Brain Injury Association, the Stroke Association, Sind (the National Association for Mental Health), Rare Diagnoses and the Kidney Association. Crown Princess is patron for every single one of them, which is why she attended as guest of honor. The events focus was centered around more people with a disability getting an education.

The Crown Princess Mary was in a splendid mood both at the arrival and during the event in the Disability Organizations House. She was everywhere that is possible for one person. Thorkild Olesen, Chairman of the Danish Disability Organizations welcomed her at the arrival.

Getting ready for a day in Taastrup Mary has chosen to wear a mix of reused and new pieces. The first thing that caught my eye is her brand new tweed skirt. What a lovely colour. Would you ever wear red tweed? Think it looks great. I learned that the new skirt is from Alexander McQueen from Heaven who managed to identify it. Mary matched her chic skirt with a simple reused black jacket from WILLOW. It features a few notable stitching, but that's all there is to go for.

She embraced the style by wearing a reused belt as well. I am really troubled with this piece. I don't even know where to look for it. Seems like Mary is loves it very much because she has already worn it quite a few times lately. Both with trousers and skirts; and now on a jacket. Do you like belted jackets? Think it makes any old jacket look brand new. I tried it last year with a black coat of mine and it changes the whole outfit adding a belt. You should try it.

As jewellery Mary dazzled wearing both earrings and a ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a golden necklace from Orit Elhanati. Three really beautiful pieces of jewellery. I spotted her black quality leather clutch from Quidam and matching Gianvito Rossi pumps as well. Do you hope for more of these outfits during December?

Dag 2. A visit to Kenya

Wednesday, November 28th

In secrecy Crown Princess Mary traveled to Kenya accompanies by Minister of Development, Ulla Tørnæs. The two of them arrived on Tuesday in Kalama, here. It was all unannounced because of terrorist threat in the country. Visiting Kenya is all about promoting girls and women's rights, well-being, health and economic independence through local organisations and projects. Among others, the Crown Princess and Minister of Development visited the organisation Northern Rangelands Trust that are supported by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).

On her second and last day in Kenya Crown Princess Mary visited Nairobi. Here she and Minister of Development, Ulla Tørnæs attended the launch of a new campaign by Women Deliver. The campaign is called 'Deliver for Good' and work to improve equality and bettering chances for girls and women in Kenya. Crown Princess Mary has on numerous occasions been involved in the work Women Deliver. The launch of Women Deliver's latest projects took place at Radisson Blu Hotel. Like she had all the time in the world, she walked around the conference room and listened carefully to everything she was told. Impressive how she manages to be present the way she is.

After the big lunch Crown Princess Mary switched location and visited the Kibera Slum. She was given the chance to visit Action Foundation. The organisation support children, young people and mothers with handicaps - support them to a better life. Even though this organisation do what they do best hundreds of miles from where I live; it makes me proud that the world has such organisations.

The Crown Princess also met with Elizabeth Okumu. She has created a mentor program for young mothers and their children. This programs teaches about sexual health and reproductive rights.

I bet the Crown Princess had two very emotional and educational days in Kenya. Or at least that is my impression after having seen her photos and read her statements shared on the royal family's Instagram, here, here, here. You find all of it here.

Day 1. A visit to Kenya

Tuesday, November 27th

Crown Princess Mary surprised all of us when she suddenly showed up in Kalama in Kenya on Tuesday. The visit had been kept a secret till yesterday because of the terrorist threat in the country. The Crown Princess was accompanied by Minster of Development, Ulla Tørnæs on the two days visit. Visiting Kenya primarily had one focus, to promote girls and women's well-being, rights and economic independence through different local projects and organisation.

Along with the Minster of Development she was warmly welcomed with singing and dancing at the arrival to Kalama in Samburu Country. They were met by lots of happy faces and with welcoming words. What I have been able to find out, then the two of them also visited the Kalama Conservancy. At the conservancy Crown Princess Mary had the chance to met some of the local women who benefited from Danish support. With that support they have been able to created their sustainable businesses.

Gender equality is what this two days visit was all about. Something the Crown Princess has been working on to improve for years now. Especially by focusing on girls and women's rights, health and well-being. She and Minister of Development, Ulla Tørnæs, also visited the organisation Northern Rangelands Trust that are supported by DANIDA - Danish International Development Agency.

During the visit in Kalama on Tuesday, her and Minister of Delvelopment seemed to had a great time. They were both (quickly) dressed properly in traditional African dresses including colourful headpieces and beadwork. Simply a wonderful sight. The colourful clothes covered her light blue button-down shirt, beige trousers and matching sneakers. With sunnies she protected her eye from the sun and carried her belongings in a tote bag.

The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2018

Saturday, November 24th

Finally it is time for the Crown Prince Couple to hand over 'the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2018'. The show was broadcasted live on Danish television on Sunday evening. This year it took place in Musikkens Hus in Aalborg. 'The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes' has been handed over by the couple since 2004 in collaboration with Bikuben Foundation.

Earlier, the couple visited 'Kunsten' Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg, here. Visiting 'Kunsten' was part of the couples show in the evening.

Every year the Crown Prince Couple help to honor both foundations, organisations, upcoming designers and artists, etc. The prizes are given to organisations, artists, etc. that provides an extraordinary effort in the field of culture and social work in Denmark. Four prizes were handed over during the show: The Crown Prince Couples Social Prize was given to Association of Greenlandic Children. Author Kim Leine received the Crown Prince Couples Culture Prize. The Crown Prince Couples Cultural Stardust Prize went to film director Annika Berg. Fundamentet in Aarhus was given the Crown Prince Couples Social Stardust Prize. Congratulations to all the winners.

And the show was just great. Last year Crown Prince Frederik acted host for a few minutes, here. This year Kåre Quist (host) and Stéphanie Surrugue (hostess) were a little late for the show - intentionally, and the Crown Prince Couple decided to welcomed everyone. A wonderful way for the show to begin. As time goes by, it has finally become their show. Can't wait till next year to see what they come up with. During the show two smaller interviews were shown - first the Crown Princess visiting Association of Greenlandic Children and then Crown Prince Frederik visiting author Kim Leine. You find them embedded below.

At the show Mary showed up at Musikkens Hus in Aalborg wearing a brand new white dress. It features golden dots on the top part of the dress and a belt. In fact I was right about her new dress being from a Danish Designer. Actually bridal designer Maria Fekih created Mary's evening dress. I learned about its identify from Heaven, who managed to find it. Originally it does not come with a belt. To me it makes the dress a bit less bridal.

At the arrival she wore her old white Prada coat. I am not sure it was worn to keep warm because she was wearing it over her shoulders. If it was intended to keep her warm she failed. That white pieces can't really keep anything warm with the weather we have in Denmark at the moment.

Mary embraced her stunning evening look with the most incredible accessories - especially jewellery. The golden earrings with hundreds of diamonds are made by talented Dulong Fine Jewelry. They also created two of the worn bracelets. You find them identified below. I also noticed her golden Cartier bangle. One more piece of jewellery that caught my attention, is that huge ring on her right hand. To me it looks like a square cut yellow stone surrounded by white diamonds. I would really like to get my hands on a closeup picture.

To match the rest of her look, she wearings a Judith Leiber clutch and (of course) golden glitter pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Hairstyle and makeup are also worth yet another stare. Simply gorgeous and outstanding look.

'Kunsten' - Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg

Saturday, November 24th

The Crown Prince Couple are back at work after a few days on their own. They accompanied each other when visiting 'Kunsten' the Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg. It is Alvar Aalto's newly restored art museum that exhibits art work from the last three centuries.

Crown Prince Frederik and his wife Crown Princess Mary were warmly welcomed with smiles, handshakes and flowers for the Crown Princess at the arrival to 'Kunsten'. The visit at the museum is part of the couple presenting the 'Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2018' taking place in Musikkens Hus in Aalborg. The show was broadcasted live on Danish television later in the evening. Before that, the Crown Prince Couple participated a rehearsal on the show, here. Keep an eye on the blog for an update of the presentation of the couple's prizes.

When visiting Aalborg Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were given a guided tour around the museum. One of the greatest pieces shown to the couple, is made by Brazilian artist Ernest Netos. It is a large cave made of crocheted yarn. Fascinating, indeed.

When visiting 'Kunsten' in Aalborg Mary was greatly dressed. She had chosen to wear a pair of black fitted trousers and a matching turtleneck blouse. A simple and chic way to get ready for a cold winter. The dark green wool cape is a reuse. Do you remember it? It was worn when she left Amalienborg Castle to go to Fredensborg for the annual royal hunting in Gribskov, here. At the time Heaven managed to identify the cape as Stenströms. She recognised it because Princess Sofia of Sweden has been seen wearing the exact same one in a light grey colour. Maybe I need to get myself a nice wool cape?

Unfortunately I know very little about her trousers and turtleneck. Could be reused pieces. They probably are. What's not new, is the heeled ankle boots. Do you like them? Think they are pretty cool. Makes her outfit a bit more edgy and classy. I much prefer these over a pair of flat ankle boots. Heeled boots complete any outfit. So far I have not been able to identify these new boots, but the style makes me think of something like Hugo Boss.

Other than this Mary embraced a chic style by wearing a golden Cartier bangle. I also see her black pearl bracelet and matching ring made by Dulong Fine Jewelry. Think she is wearing diamond earrings as well. Could be those from Hartmann's, but I can not tell for sure.

'Danish Speakers' speaker prize & 'The Children's Day"

Tuesday, November 20th

A couple of days ago the Crown Prince Couple visited London to attend the big birthday celebration of Prince Charles' 70th birthday, here. Royals from both Denmark, Norway, Spain, Monaco, etc. were invited to Buckingham Palace to attend the celebration hosted by Queen Elizabeth.

On Tuesday Crown Princess Mary then showed up at a conference entitled 'Logograf 2018' in Copenhagen. 'Logograf 2018' is a conference for professional speechwriters. This years theme was speeches for special occasions. And it certainly was a more special conference than usual, because the Crown Princess received a prize herself this time. For years I have praised her speeches; how she perfectly manage to capture everything necessary within only one speech. She has been keynote speaker at numerous national- and international conferences. Finally she is rewarded for her speeches. Actually one very specific speech - the one given to her husband on occasion of his 50th birthday. Crown Princess Mary was given the 'Danish Speakers speaker prize'.

It was Danish politician Bertel Haarder, who handed over the prestiges prize to Crown Princess Mary. He was also the one to suggest her speech as possible winner of the prize. Let's congratulate the Crown Princess with her latest prize. I think she deserves it, because she is a great speaker and that speech she held on her husbands 50th birthday, was memorable.

Later, the Crown Princess attended another event with UNICEF Denmark. 'Children's Day' took place in UN City in Copenhagen. She was warmly welcomed at the arrived with smiles, handshakes and flowers by among others Minister of Development Cooperation, Ulla Tørnæs. The conference focused on 'Children in the World Goals'.

During the day Mary was dressed in a rather simple outfit to copy. She had chosen to wear a black turtleneck blouse and matching trousers. The trousers goes way back in time. They feature buttons on both sides. I once found a similar pair at a Danish designer, but not the exact same ones. Have you got an ID that missed me? Both trousers and that lovely tweed jacket have been seen before. It was when Mary attended the event 'Water Music' in 2017, here. Do you remember the jacket? Make me so happy when I saw that she was wearing it again.

Simple as that. Three piece of clothes and you got this incredible outfit that's great for the season. She embraced the style by wearing a pair of ankle boots. Heaven managed to find them at Gianvito Rossi with a little inspiration from me. They are made of some kind of stretch knitted fabric. Very fascinating. I recognized them from when she attended a musical in Tivoli with her children last month, here.

Two different bags; for two different events. At the speakers event she showed up with her black leather clutch from Quidam. Later she changed to wear a Docle & Gabbana tote bag. Both seen at many previous events. As jewellery we got pieces from Cartier, Dulong Fine Jewelry and Katerina Pitzner. What's not to love.

The celebration of Prince Charles

Wednesday, November 14th

First a visit to New York back in September, here, here, here. Then a three days promotion visit to Rome with her husband, here, here, here. And now London. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were invited to celebrate Prince Charles' 70 birthday at Buckingham Palace in London.  It was Queen Elizabeth who hosted the big birthday party for her son on his birthday.

Numerous royals were invited: Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Albert of Monaco, Queen Rania of Jordan, King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway and the list goes on.

I have not been able to find that many pictures from the birthday celebration. Actually I only found two. Not much to tell what Mary was wearing, though I am able to tell something. Arriving to Buckingham Palace in London Mary flashed a new pair of earrings. Rather large ones. It looks like a mix and match of 'Lotus' and 'Winter Frost' from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, herehere. Seems like I was right about the thing with Winter Frost. Charlotte Lynggaard confirms that herself, here. I also see her golden Cartier bangle and a diamond piece.

That was really all I had to go on at first. Then the royal family shared a photo of the Crown Prince Couple on Instagram and Facebook at the dinner. Crown Prince Frederik looked handsome in a classy blue and white outfit with a little bow tie. Next to him, Mary stunned in a brand new one-shoulder velvet gown from Jesper Høvring (collection: Autumn/Winter 2017). I knew about the designer. I just wanted it confirmed before sharing it with the rest of you. Polyvore Ready shares a picture of the model, here. Her gown features a matching belt with a golden detail - of course matched by her jewellery. I can't really say anything about the colour. It could be either black, dark green or blue. Personally I would say some kind of blue. Do you see a specific colour?

She embraced the outfit with a stunning makeup and a simple half updo. Really wanted to see if she wore a clutch and which shoes she had chosen to wear. But I doubt we get to see any more pictures.
