Christmas greeting from the Mary Foundation

21 December 2022

Crown Princess Mary shared a few thoughts about the Mary Foundation's work in 2022 a couple of days before Christmas.

She used the opportunity to encourage gatherings during Christmas. To share this time a year with others. Even though, we surround ourselves with family and friends, not all of us have this option.

"Therefore, we do not necessarily fight loneliness because we gather. We fight loneliness when we gather in safe and open communities that are based on the trust and care that we all need. Community is worth more than any Christmas present money can buy. And it is a gift we all have the opportunity to give. Thank you to all of you who face Christmas with openness towards the people around you." - Crown Princess Mary

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Crown Princess Mary, the Mary Foundation and me.

Crown Princess Mary wore her lovely green custom-made blouse from Mark Kenly Domino Tan and earrings purchased at Bruun Rasmussen a few years back. I bet the photo was taken, when the Crown Princess hosted a Christmas reception with the Mary Foundation for their partners on December 1st (here). Therefor, I believe she wore the matching trousers as well.

The perfect Christmas outfit

We are only a few days away from celebrating one of my favourite days of them all - Christmas Eve. Regardless of whether you celebrate Christmas on December 24th or 25th, you need a wonderful outfit. Crown Princess Mary has been and still is my greatest sources of inspiration, when it comes to choosing an outfit for a special occasion. Therefor, I have found some outfits of hers that inspire my most this year.

Do you have a special outfit in mind for your special evening? If not. Perhaps this will inspire you to a look that will make you sparkle like a starry night.

I will also use this occasion to wish you all a splendid Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The Royal Danish Music Conservatory's Children's Choirs Christmas concert

03 December 2022

Now and then, the Crown Prince Couple are accompanied by their children for official events. This is exactly what happened, when Crown Princess Mary attended the Royal Danish Music Conservatory's Children's Choirs Christmas Concert on December 3rd. She was accompanied by Prince Christian.

The concert has become an annual event and Crown Princess Mary has attended this wonderful afternoon for many years. When the children were younger, the whole family joined her for the Christmas concert.

Crown Princess Mary is patron for the children's choir.

Prince Christian and his mother truly enjoyed the afternoon together with many of the well-known Christmas songs beautifully performed by the choir.

The concert took place at the Royal Music Conservatory's Concert Hall at Frederiksberg.

Launching "The Community Survey II"

02 December 2022

"The Community Survey II" is a report made in collaboration by the Mary Foundation, TrygFonden and The National Research and Analysis Center for Welfare. Actually, this survey is not the first. Back in 2016, the first report was launch. Later, in 2019 yet another survey was made and followed by the report "Behind the Community Survey".

On December 2nd, the Crown Princess attended the launch of "The Community Survey II". In her speech, she summed up with few words the result of the survey. More and more people in our society struggle with psychological unhappiness, physical health problems and loneliness. Especially, loneliness amongst children and young people has been on the Mary Foundation's agenda for many years.

Part of launching the report was also to discuss these results and possible solutions on how to reduce the number of people not feeling well in our community.

Christmas reception with the Mary Foundation

01 December 2022

It has become a tradition for Crown Princess Mary to host a Christmas reception for the Mary Foundation's partners every year. A perfect way to say "thank you for a good year with important improvement".

Both the Crown Princess and the Mary Foundation are both really good at appreciating their partners. I like that. The foundation does an important and impressive job every single year accompanied by their partners.

They enjoyed some warm glögg, æbleskiver and a chat at Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg.

Day 2. A trip to London

29 November 2022

Crown Princess Mary arrived in London the day before and was then warmly welcomed by Queen Camilla (here). Queen Rania of Jordan was also welcomed along with the Danish Crown Princess.

The reason for her visit was a reception hosted by Queen Camilla on occasion of UN's campaign "16 Days of Activism". A campaign which purpose is to create awareness about violence against girls and women - and to combat this violence. Crown Princess Mary has for many now herself worked to help girls and women all over the world.

Queen Rania of Jordan, Queen Mathilda of Belgium and the Countess of Wessex also participated the reception at Buckingham Palace.

Repremiere of "The Nutcracker"

26 November 2022

Once again, Queen Margrethe shares her creative talent with all os us. She has worked as scenographer os the repremiere of "The Nutcracker". She also designed costumes for the play.

The Queen was accompanied by Queen Sonja of Norway at the premiere, which took place in Tivoli's Concert Hall. Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine also joined the premiere of this very special Christmas ballet.

All of them were smiles and happy faces at the arrival. Queen Margrethe was truly a star on a clear sky at night. It is know that the Queen is a fan of ballet. Imagine getting the chance to work with such talented ballet dancers if it is a passion of yours.

The Crown Prince family also looked very proud of their mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. I am thrilled to see the four of them together. I imagine them having a wonderful and magical evening.

"The Nutcracker" has it's premiere for the fifth time in Tivoli.

Verdenstimen Live 2022

23 November 2022

Verdenstimen is an annual event. It aims to teach children and young people about the UN's World Goals for sustainable development. This is done by incorporating the World Goals in the children's teaching at school.

The event is arranged by Verdens Bedste Nyheder and is part of the global campaign "The World's Largest Lessen".

This year, Crown Princess Mary attended Verdenstimen along with students from Utterslev School, Tinderhøj School, Sankt Annæ Gymnasium's Preschool and Lergravsparken's School. All of them enjoyed a day with roleplay, songs for the climate and the spread of knowledge of the world goals in primary schools and youth education in Denmark.

Crown Princess Mary was not all by herself. She was accompanied by Child and Youth mayor of the Municipality of Copenhagen Jacob Næsager and Director at Verdens Beste Nyheder Thomas Ravn-Pedersen.

From the arrival

I really love a good old suit. Both wearing them myself, but also when Mary wears them. Looks so good on her. Especially, this green suit from Massimo Dutti is one of my absolute favourites. The colour is simply amazing. Perfect next to her fair skin and beautiful dark brown hair. For Verdenstimen Live, Mary had chosen to match the green suit with a light grey turtleneck. It could be new, but I am not quite sure.

Green and grey are indeed a wonderful colourmatch. Perfect this time a year. One reason, why I fell in love with Mary's style is because she master the science of matching colours. Just as she did at the Verdenstimen Live event. Clothes and accessories melted together.

She embraced the style with custom-made green earrings created by Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. She has worn them before. Like, when she attended the inauguration of Campus Horsens in September 2021 (here). Mary also wore a fine emerald ring from Annikat.

The stunning light grey suede ankle boots are from Gianvito Rossi. What an outfit!

A goodnight visit at Herlev Hospital

22 November 2022

It happens now and then that Crown Princess Mary makes these more private and unofficial visit at hospitals. Once in awhile, she has visited Rigshospitalet and participated some of their meeting's with Kræftværket (here). A "safe place" for young cancer patients.

On Tuesday evening, she visited Herlev Hospital and joined the hospital clowns Sally and Viola on one of their daily visits. Crown Princess Mary gave a helping hand with reading a goodnight story for the children. From what I see, they all had a wonderful time and how often do we get to see the future Queen of Denmark wearing a red fluffy nose?

This has to be my all-time favourite photo of her!

Identifying her casual evening outfit is truly a struggle. Mary's bright pink sweater is brand new. I do not even know, where to begin my search. Any ideas? I am also very eager to hear what you think of her latest addition to her wardrobe. Is the sweater a go or no-go? I kinda like it. Mary matched it with simple black trousers.

We get a few glimpses of some jewellery. The necklace is still a mystery, but I believe it is her new one first worn in at the Crown Prince Couple's visit in Vietnam (here). I also see a pink braided bracelet matching her sweater, a ring and golden earrings. The photos quality are too blurry for me to tell anything more.

Her glasses are from Gucci.

"Biodiversity is good business"

17th November 2022

Some years ago, Crown Princess Mary entitled President of WWF World Wild Fund for Nature. A job, which she "inherited" from her belated father-in-law, Prince Henrik. Since then, the Crown Princess has been committed to fulfill the foundation's vision and mission to fight for nature around the world.

Especially, biodiversity has been on the agenda since Crown Prince Mary become President of the WWF World Wild Fund for Nature. Biodiversity was also on the agenda for the "Biodiversity is good business"-conference.

The conference took place at Industriens Hus in Copenhagen. Several different companies and organizations were gathered to participate the conference, which was organized by  WWF World Wild Fund for Nature and Brain & Company, to learn more about the latest knowledge in field of biodiversity and lose of nature.

Crown Princess Mary also gave a speech at the conference (here).

Participating the "Biodiversity is good business"-conference at Industriens Hus, Mary dazzled in a year-old Dolce & Gabbana suit. Did you know that she first wore this suit at a business promotion visit in London in 2004 (here)? Imagine still be able to fit clothes that old. I am not one of those people. She matched it with a simple black turtleneck and a black leather belt.

Mary embraced the style with a perfectly made ponytail. Love it, when she top of an outfit like this. The stunning diamond earrings are still unknown to me and her rings I cannot identify with the photos we have.

Maybe you recognize her navy blue leather bag? It is from Prada and has been in her wardrobe for quite a few years now. The same goes with those black suede Gianvito Rossi boots. I am not a huge fan of the boots, but Mary seems to love them.

... and of course. Her glasses. They are brand new and still to be identified. I cannot wait to get a better look at them, because I think they look sooooooo good on her!

Queen Margrethe's 50th anniversary ● official lunch

12th November 2022

It was on occasion of Queen Margrethe's 50th anniversary as Queen of Denmark that the royal family were gathered on Saturday.

The family arrived at Copenhagen City Hall around noon to attend an official lunch on occasion of the Queen's anniversary. Queen Margrethe arrived with style in a golden coach. She was warmly welcomed. Before the lunch, she showed on the City Hall Balcony and was celebrated by Danes, who wanted to show honour to their Queen.

Both Princess Benedikte, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and the Crown Prince Couple attended the celebration. Count Ingolf and Countess Susie also joined the family.

The Crown Prince Couple arriving at the City Hall

From the official dinner at Copenhagen City Hall

What a couple. Frederik and Mary looked splendid together, when they arrived to the City Hall in Copenhagen to attend an official lunch on occasion of Queen Margrethe's 50th anniversary. They both looked so happy.

Talking about "looking good". Mary truly won my heart with her lunch outfit. Seriously. She was like a star on a glory night. That Iris & Ink dress is one hell of a dress. She wears it with such grace. Mary first wore the dress at Prince Christian's confirmation in May 2021 (here). I love the dress as much as the first time she wore it. I really love that she chose her Harris Warf London coat with the printed wonder. They are a wonderful match.

My excitement is not to stop. Especially, when it comes to how she styled this look. The stunning headpiece is a reuse created by Jane Taylor. An exquisite piece. This is also how to describe those shiny diamond earrings, which were purchased on an Bruun Rasmussen auction a few years back.

I am sure you recognize her navy blue leather clutch. It is a beloved one from Quidam. She was wearing another classics: her suede Jimmy Choo pumps. I have nothing bad to say about this outfit. Mary nailed it!

Day 2. ICPD+25 High Level Commission meeting in Zanzibar

10th November 2022

Crown Princess Mary is in Tanzania, Zanzibar as member of the High Level Commission for ICPD+25. She arrived a day earlier (here).

On her second day, the Crown Princess had an exciting and important launch to attend. The launch of a staus report with 1300 promises. Promises given in 2019 in Nairobi. Something, which Crown Princess Mary witnessed herself, because she was in Nairobi three years ago (here) (here).

She also participated a meeting with other members of the High Level Commission.

Launch of a state report with 1300 promises

The lack of photos from her visit in Tanzania is impressing. It is truly a more "private" visit with clearly very few photographers. Few and kinda blurry photos always makes it more difficult to identify what Mary is wearing. I had some help from Heaven, who managed to identify her lovely new printed dress. It is from Zimmermann. Indeed the style, right?

I also recognized the three golden necklaces as worn the previous day. I can identify two of them, which is a Dulong Fine Jewelry design and Halberstadt creation. Dulong Fine Jewelry are also the creators of her custom-made bracelet with colorful stones. She has similar ones, but I believe this is new. Her other golden cuff is Dulong Fine Jewelry as well.

It takes good eyes to spot what heels Mary was wearing. Heaven had those sharp eyes. Mary dazzled wearing brown heeled sandals from Gianvito Rossi.

Mary participated a meeting with other members of the High Level Commission. She changed outfit. I am in love with what she wore. With I was able to wear lighter colours like these. Mary had chosen to wear a reused Paul & Joe blouse featuring incredible details. The trousers are brand new from Chloe. What a shape.

The photos from this meeting are really poor. Nevertheless, we get a blurry glimpse of her Dulong Fine Jewelry necklace matched with two other golden necklaces. The shorter one is a Halberstadt creation. I imagine her having a simple ponytail for this look. The hairstyle showed stunning diamond earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

By the way. Did you noticed that Mary wore BRAND NEW GLASSES! They look so good on her. I cannot wait to identify them, but I need better photos. A logo would be nice too. Keep your fingers crossed.

Day 1. ICPD+25 High Level Commission meeting in Zanzibar

09 November 2022

Crown Princess Mary arrived in Tanzania, Zanzibar on November 9th to attend ICPD+15 High Level Commission's meeting. It is a two days visit.

ICPD+25 are a high level commission working to improve girls and women's rights. Something, Crown Princess Mary also has been committed to for quiet some years now. She has previously participated events with the high level commission.

On her first day, she visited a reproductive health clinic. They work with a 'zero maternity mortality". In other words: the clinic work on a daily basis to prevent and avoid maternal mortality under difficult conditions. Visiting the reproductive health clinic, Crown Princess Mary was given a tour around the facilities. She also met with some of the clinic's staff. They happily shared all the clinic's good results.

Later, the Crown Princess visited one of Zanzibar's old district called Stone Town. CUBE Innovation Hub I located in Stone Town. They had the pleasure of meeting the Danish Crown Princess. CUBE Innovation Hub gives a helping hand to startup and smaller companies across Tanzania and Zanzibar. All to reach their dreams and goals.

During the visit, Crown Princess Mary met young entrepreneurs, who gladly told her about their visions, hopes and dreams to develop innovative technology and find solutions to help solved challenges for girls and women's sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Kongehuset ● Frederik et MaryUFO No More

On her first day in Zanzibar, Mary had chosen to wear a really lovely and casual outfit. I am a huge fan of all these casual outfits she has been wearing lately. When visiting the reproductive health clinic and meeting with CUBE Innovation Hub, Mary wore a simple white button-down blouse with a reused darker green skirt from Apiece Apart. An old goodie. What is not to like?

You do not have to look that closely, maybe only twice, to see that she was wearing a brand new initial necklace. Could the small 'F' necklace be her way of bringing her husband to Zanzibar with her? I kinda like the idea. I have not been able to identify its origin yet, but I hope I will. These "letter" necklaces have been quit fashionable lately. Is it time to have our own? She also wore two other golden necklaces. The one is from Dulong Fine Jewelry and the longest one is still a mystery to me.

Mary also embraced the look with three bracelets. All of them are designed and crafted by Dulong Fine Jewelry. A brand that has followed her since the time she became Crown Princess of Denmark.

Keeping her hair in place with a green Kknekki hairtie.

It took me some time before I realized that Mary had chosen to wear her golden leather flats from Anonymous Copenhagen. But she did. A lovely choice.

Hubertus Hunt 2022

06 November 2022

The Hubertus Hunt is an annual event taking place in Dyrehaven, Klampenborg. Always on the first Sunday in November.

For many years, members of the Crown Prince family have attended the Hubertus Hunt. They watched the race from the Eremitage Castle laying centered in Dyrehaven.

Since the beginning of the 1900th hundred, riders participating the hunt has hunted a fox with the help from dogs. Today, the fox has been replaced by a rider with a fox tale. During the hunt, the riders are to handle 32 obstacles.

This year, Princess Josephines accompanied her mother. Also when she was to present the winner of Crown Princess Mary's Honourary Award. The award was first given in the name of Queen Ingrid and later on Prince Henrik handed over the award in his name. After his death, his daughter-in-law took over the prestiges honor.

It was truly a pleasure to see mother and daughter spending a day together. Of course, you noticed that Princess Josephines borrowed her mother's coat for the event. Meanwhile, Mary kept warm in something as chic. One of my favourite events a year, is the Hubertus Hunt. Primarily, because of Mary's outfits. I love these brownish, warm and casual outfits.

This year, Mary had chosen to wear a dark green turtleneck and reused tweed trousers. Unfortunately, I have never been able to identify the trousers - even though I'd love to! In 2012, she was very fond of these trousers (here). Thrilled to see them again after all these years.

I learned from Heaven that her jacket is from Dubarry. She also informed me that one of her friends, were able to identify Mary's greenish quilted vest is a Seeland design. Great findings, right?

Believe she was wearing brown suede boots, but I am troubled to say for sure. She was also carrying her Tod's leather tote. The navy blue hat was an amazing accessory for the event. It is from Bonpoint.

The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2022 - part 3

05 November 2022

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary had chosen theatre instructor Tue Biering should be the winner of the Crown Prince Couple's Culture Prize 2022.

Tue Biering is also working as an artistic leader of the teatre company Fix&Foxy. One of his most significant plays was a version of Ibsens "Et Dukkehjem". The play gives the viewers an inside in normal residents living in their Copenhagen based apartments. The actual residents are playing along with professionel actors.

On occasion of Tue Biering receiving the Crown Prince Couple's Culture Prize 2022, Crown Princess Mary met with him to hear more about him, his work and his passion. It resulted in an interview shown as part of the award show Saturday evening.

For her meeting with theatre instructor Tue Biering, Mary wore a lovely outfit. One of these outfits I adore the most. A simple and casual looks. Something easy for all of us to wear on a daily basis. I learned from Heaven that Mary's new light grey knitted sweater is from Johntones of Elgins. To me a new designer in her wardrobe. Maybe not the last?

She style it with a plain white blouse and dark blue trousers. When they went for a walk, she added a Massimo Dutti reversible coat.

What accessories to wear for a look like this? Mary had chosen a couple of golden jewellery. The bangle is still a mystery to me. So is the rather large golden ring with the precious stone. What I do know, is that her diamond earrings are from Sophie Bille Brahe.

We get shorts glimpses of her navy blue sues boots from Prada as well. I have never been able to find them in suede or blue, but I am not in doubt that they are Prada boots.

The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2022 - part 2

05 November 2022

Handing over the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes goes back to the couple's wedding, because it was a wedding gift from Bikuben Fonden. Since then, the couple have honoured foundations, organizations and artists with an annual award show. These shows takes place in a different city every year. This year: Ringsted. More specifically, Ringsted Congress Center.

Somehow, it is always kinds magical, when they arrive to present the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes. It was also a magical moment, when they arrived to the Congress Center in Ringsted.

The show was even as magnificent. Great artists performed and entertained for almost two hours. In between the performances, the couple presented winners of the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2022. This years winners were:

The Crown Prince Couple's Social Prize was given to the social organisation GAME, who arrange practice and tournaments in different kinds of street spots.

The Crown Prince Couple's Culture Prize was received by theater director Tue Biering.

The Crown Prince Couple's Stardust Prizes were presented to cellist and composer Josephine Opsahl and Social Sundhed for their work to strengthen, how people in vulnerable life situations, are able to care better care of their own health. Congratulations to all of them!

Kongehuset Billed Bladet Billed Bladet Frederik et Mary Royal Portraits Gallery UFO No More DR

This is truly not what I had expected to see her in for the award show. Usually, I have very little imagination to what Mary will wear for events like these, but this surprised me. The powder pink colour is indeed beautiful next to her dark brown hair and the jumpsuit itself is very well-fitted, and still something is bothering me about the outfit. I should be ashamed to say that. Maybe it is the combo of hairstyle and outfit. Some wavy curls would have softened the look a bit more. Think I would have preferred that. Nevertheless, Mary was Queen of the evening.

Even though, I am a bit troubled about the clothes, I adore what she had chosen to wear as accessories. Her earrings reminds me of a pair of purple Amethyst earrings of hers (here). But the earrings worn at the award show are for sure not purple. The style is similar, but still there are differences. We also get a glimpse of something shiny on her left arm. A diamond bracelets and some rings. Mary's golden cuff is from Rebekka Notkin.

Wish her powder pink satin pumps from Gianvito Rossi were more visible because they are simply gorgeous! Almost like pearls under water.
