Presenting the Heart Association and the Children's Heart Foundation's scholarships

11 January 2023

For quite some years, Crown Princess Mary has been patron of both the Heart Association and the Children's Heart Foundation. Because of that honourable role, she has attended numerous presentation's of the prestiges Heart Association and Children's Heart Foundation scholarships. This year was no exception.

The Crown Princess arrived to Hotel d'Angleterre in Copenhagen in the afternoon to attend the presentation of this years winners of the scholarships. She was warmly welcomed with a bouquet of flowers, lots of smiles and a few words from Anna - she is a heart child.

Before presenting the winners, the Crown Princess gave a speech. With this speech, she presented the four winners: Senior physician and Professor of emergency medicine and cardiology Kasper Iversen, Senior researcher at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen Charlotte Klinker Demant and Professor of cardiology psychology Susanne Schmidt Pedersen.

Crown Princess Mary and the recipients of the scholarships

A good old outfit never really goes out of style - no matter time. This is one of those outfits. Mary has worn it un a number of different occasions. Like, when she visited Moldova in 2016 (here) or when she attended the presentation of the DI Prize 2021 (here). I am rarely lost in identifying reused outfits, but I have never been able to identify either blouse or skirt. No matter how much I want it, my luck has left me. We got a glimpse of her arriving and then also her grey wool coat from JOSEPH.

Mary chose to embrace the look by wearing an exclusive leather clutch from Quidam. Don't really know, why it had to be blue, but somehow it works. The bi-colour pointed suede pumps are also a reuse. Also with the outfit. They are from Prada.

I really like the soft curly hair with those elegant diamond earrings crafted by Dulong Fine Jewelry. They custom-made Mary's black pearl ring as well. She has another one in the same style. The stunning golden diamond necklace is from Halberstadt.

I am so fascinated about her rather new soft rosy glasses. They are still a mystery to me. Cannot wait to identify them. Have you seen any good close-ups?

Launching "Lift"

10 January 2023

Sadly, more and more young people experience how hard loneliness can be. Many of them live with loneliness as part of their everyday life over a longer period of time.

The Mary Foundation already made it a core value to combat loneliness - especially among children and young people. On January 10th, Crown Princess Mary attended the launch of "Lift", which is yet another project to ensure that fewer young people experience severe loneliness.

Being one of their most ambitious projects, the Mary Foundation teamed up with some very significant partners with representatives from both foundation's, social organizations, center of knowledge and associations.

"Lift" are first tested in three municipalities being Vejle, Esbjerg and Ballerup.

I do not know why, but Mary looked especially good when attending the launch of "Lift". She seemed to be in a splendid mood. So relaxed and comfortable. I am sure it was a proud Crown Princess, Mary and founder of the Mary Foundation, who participated the launch.

Mary had chosen an incredible outfit for this event. The biggest upcoming trend is colourful pantsuits. She nailed it with such perfection in that dark green Massimo Dutti suit. We have seen the suit on a number of different occasions. Like, when she attended "Verdenstimen Live 2022" (here) and when celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child 2022 (here).

The stunning white blouse has been identified by UFO No More (here) as The Fold London. A new brand in her wardrobe.

I simply adore how Mary accessorized her outfit with elegant and delicate pieces of jewellery from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and a necklace from Halberstadt. Such a beautiful choice.

Two new board members

09 January 2023

Since the Mary Foundation was founded in 2007, two women have had a significant impact in the leading board. Those to women are Caroline Heering and Ulla Brockenhuus-Schack.

Now, the foundation has welcomed two new boar members Management and Communication consultant Andreas Gylling Æbelø and Professer Vibeke Koushede They will carry on the good work done by Caroline and Ulla, who are now, no longer part of the Mary Foundation's board of directors.

Crown Princess Mary expressed her gratitude towards Caroline Heeing and Ulla Brockenhuus-Schack for their hard work and warmly welcomed the two new board members.

"I am incredibly happy to be able to welcome Andreas and Vibeke to the Mary Foundation's board. With them on board, the board's competencies within analysis, research and strategic communication will be further strengthened." - Crown Princess Mary

Not sure, I am that big a fan of her outfit but I like the sense of a super casual look. The principal of a colourful blazer, a plain blouse and simple trousers are incredible and really easy to try yourself.

It does not happen very often that I am not able to identify, what Mary is wearing. This time is one of the few. I do not recognize having seen either blouse or blazer before. Red and grey are not a bad colourmatch. Even though, these two shades of red and grey are not the best.

I truly like how she styled the outfit with that belt. It looks great with the blazer and golden jewellery. I feel, we have seen the two necklaces before, but that quality of the photo makes it hard for me to identify them with certainty. The earrings as well.

Identifying this outfit has not been easy. I know that her glasses are from Gucci and the delicate 'F' necklace is from Halberstadt.

New Year's reception at Christiansborg

04 January 2023

Queen Margrethe arrived with style for todays second day with celebrating a New Years coming with yet another reception. She arrived in a golden couch.

The 4th of January reception gathered officers from the Armed Forces and the Emergency Management Agency, I., II., and III. rank as well as representatives of major national organizations and royal patronages.

The Queen hosted the New Year's reception at Christiansborg. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary also attended the reception. They arrived shortly before Queen Margrethe.

Even thought I would have loved something else for the second New Year's reception, I still adored Mary in her custom-made Lasse Spangenberg gown with matching cape. It is not up for discussion: the gown looks perfect on her. Only a talented designer/tailor are able to make something this beautiful.

Mary also wore this outfit in 2017 (here), 2018 (here) and 2020 (here). Do you favor one of them? My favourite has to be this year. She looks so majestic with that hairdo and fine details.

The accessories were so well-chosen. Her inherited ruby earrings are a perfect match with the colour of the gown and bordeaux suede BOSS Hugo Boss clutch. Even her new leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi matched with such elegance. The black pearl bracelet is a creation from Dulong Fine Jewelry. We also get a glimpse of her beloved diamond 'F' necklace from Halberstadt.

New Year's reception at Amalienborg and Christiansborg

03 Januar 2023

The new year is always celebrated with several prestiges gatherings. The first one is on January 1st with Queen Margrethe as hostess. For a few years, we have had to live without the annual New Year's Banquet at Amalienborg due to the worldwide pandemic. But not this years. Queen Margrethe enjoyed celebrating the coming of a new year with her closest family and members of the Danish Government (here).

Following comes two New Year's receptions taking place on January 3rd and 4th.

On January 3rd, Queen Margrethe hosted a wonderful New Year's reception at Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg with guests invited from the Officer Corps of the Royal Life Guards and the Guard Hussar Regiment and Judges of the Supreme Court. The Crown Prince Couple accompanied the Queen.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary also accompanied Queen Margrethe, when she hosted yet another reception that very same day. This reception took place at Christiansborg with guests from the Diplomatic Corps.

Usually, Queen Margrethe has worn an "annual" outfit, when attending these New Year receptions, but Mary has mostly worn different outfits each year. This changed som years ago. Now, she is mainly wearing the same gowns for the different receptions. I kindly miss the diversity of gowns. It is truly hard to separate every year from each other. Nevertheless, she looked very beautiful at the receptions on January 3rd.

The lovely light grey gown was first worn in 2008 (here). As you see, it has been altered since then. The upper part is now in a soft grey fabric and she is not wearing it with its matching jacket. Mary also wore the gown in 2010 (here), 2012 (here), 2013 (here), 2017 (here) and 2019 (here).

This year, Mary has chosen to style her reception-outfit with divine white pearl earrings and a matching ring but custom-made creations by Dulong Fine Jewelry. Both earrings and ring have been in her collection for many years. She has worn the earrings with a number of different pendants (here, here, here). The stunning diamond necklace is a Halberstadt creation.

I really adore how she embraced the gown with a suede clutch from BOSS Hugo Boss and pointed Gianvito Rossi pumps. I am always IMPRESSED how well Mary is able to match shades of colours despite brands.

The New Year Banquet 2023

01 January 2023

We have had to live without the magical New Year Banquet for some time now. The worldwide pandemic changed much - including the annual celebration of welcoming a new year.

With a pandemic more or less under control, the Queen once again hosted the prestiges Banquet at Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg in Copenhagen. She celebrated the evening along with members of the Danish Parliament, Folketinget's Chairman and special invited guests.

Of course members of the royal family also attended the banquet. First Princess Benedikte arrived. Prince Joachim followed without Princess Marie. She had to stay home a take care of Prince Henrik, who got sick. Then the Crown Prince Couple arrived - with style! What a couple. Last, but not least Queen Margrethe made her entrance.

Mary truly looked beautiful. Like Princess Aurora from Disney's "Sleeping Beauty". That sparkly soft blue evening gown was created by Danish designer Lasse Spangenberg. This is actually the first time Mary wears the gown for an event. We have seen it before, but that was on occasion of her 50th birthday in February (here, here, here). And then later for an official gala portrait photographed by Hasse Nielsen (here) - also on occasion of her birthday.

We get a small glimpse of soft grey suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Actually, shoes were custom-made by Joseph Azagury in the same fabric as the gown (here). But I like that she wore something a bit more simple for the banquet.

Impressively, Mary matched her lovely gown with the beloved Ruby Parure inherited from Queen Ingrid - Crown Prince Frederik's grandmother. Not that many years ago, Dulong Fine Jewelry's talented goldsmiths crafted a matching ruby ring. They also made the changes of the rest of the parure. For instance, for the earrings to be worn with other pendants like for the banquet.

I love that she also wore her beautiful diamond necklace from Halberstadt.

The beautiful silver J. Furmani flap clutch was a wonderful choice. It differently completed the outfit.

New official portraits

28 December 2022

2022 was truly a year of celebration. Among others, we celebrated Crown Princess Mary's 50th birthday and also Queen Margrethe's 50th anniversary as Queen of Denmark.

As an old tradition, new portraits are made to celebrate special days. So, to mark the end of an amazing year of celebrating Queen Margrethe, two new portraits have been published.

Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were photographed by photographer Per Morten Abrahamsen. They photos were taken in the Hall of Knights in Christian IX's Palace at Amalienborg.

Mary truly looked beautiful, when photographed for the new portraits by photographer Per Morten Abrahamsen. I guess, the photos were taken back in September 2022, when Queen Margrethe hosted a prestiges gala dinner at Christansborg (here).

Her stunning lace gown was mastered by talented designer Jesper Høvring. He is also the designer of a number of other dresses worn by Mary. Like this lovely gown worn at Prince Joachim's 50th birthday in 2019 (here). And this one worn October 2018 (here).

Even though she has worn the Ruby Parure many times, I am still crazy in love with it. The details are exquisite and so delicate. I also love the fact that, when she changed it, she made it possible to wear parts of the parure for more daytime events as well. Especially, the earrings have been a classy winner (here, here, here)
