Summer in Gråsten

09 July 2024

Welcoming at Gråsten town square

King Frederik, Queen Mary and the twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine are staying at Gråsten Castle in Gråsten during the summer.

On July 95th, the royal couple arrived in Gråsten and walked from the town square to the castle. They are greeted with flowers, smiles, flags and handshakes by the citizens of Gråsten.

The King and Queen were also officially welcomed by Sønderborg municipality's city council at the old town hall.

I really love Mary's new ME+EM dress! The soft green print. The length and small cap-sleeves. Its details are simply beautiful. Nothing less than the perfect summer dress. I am not quite sure I like the Canopy Bay by Deborah Hutton hat with the dress. Mary has so many stunning hats that would fit the look way better. What do you think?

She styled the outfit with reused peep-toe wedges from Tod's. Do you recall that Mary also wore them staying at Gråsten in 2015? Twice actually. At Gråsten Ring Riding Association parade and at the weekly changing of the guards a few days later.

The fine golden necklaces are from Halberstadt and Dulong Fine Jewelry. The last designer also created her diamond bracelet and wonderful ring.

Changing of the guards

Tradition tells that the Royal Lifeguard performe changing of the guards every Friday, when the ruling King (or Queen) are present at Gråsten Castle. This is King Frederik and Queen Mary's first changing of the guards at Gråsten as ruling couple.

I recall twice in her time as Crown Princess when she has worn a long cardigan and that wasn't even cardigans. In 2004, when attending the wedding of Rikke Juel and Michael Brandt, and at Princess Benedikte's 60th birthday. At the parade at Gråsten, Mary wore a brand new long Mirror in the Sky tie-dye cardigan. Haven't really embraced the tie-dye trend. Have you? She matched it with a plain while blouse and skirt.

She has become fond of wearing her golden diamond bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry and initial necklaces also from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Her second necklace is Halberstadt.

Her new sandals are identify as Arteana. Wish I could wearing such sandals, but my feet won't work with them properly. The sunglasses are from Thierry Lasry.

Changing of the guards

The royal family are staying at Gråsten Castle in Gråsten during the summer. Like many other, the family enjoy a well-deserved vacation from everyday duties. On July 19th, the family watched the weekly changing of the guards.

Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine spend time at Gråsten during their summer break from school. Queen Margrethe also arrived to Gråsten, which means that King Frederik and Queen Mary are now accompanied by Prince Gustav, his wife Princess Carina and their two children - Prince Gustav Albrecht and Princess Mafalda, Queen Margrethe and the twins.

Seems like Mary loves wearing maxi skirts this summer. First a simple white one on July 12th and a brand new one on July 19th. This new floral printed skirt has been identified as Forte Forte. I love the fine print of flowers - and the fact that it is matching her husbands purple braided belt!

She accessorized the outfit with golden earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a custom-made ring. The diamond necklace is Halberstadt. Looks like she is wearing two, but I haven't seen a photo of the second one. Not to tell which one she is wearing.

Her cool sandals are from Arteana.

Day 8.

Official visit to Greenland

06 July 2024

The King and Queen (and the twins) already spend more than a week in Greenland. On their last day, they visited Narsaq and Qassiarsuk. They were welcomed in Narsaq by Mayor Stine Egede and members of the board. To mark the couple's visit, King Frederik panted a pine tree at the administration building.

Before attending lunch with municipal council members and the local business community, the royal couple paid a visit to the local sports hall in Narsaq.

In Qassiarsuk they were welcomed by board member Piitaq Lung by whom they were given a tour around the village followed by the traditional 'kaffemik'.

By now we know all about her dark green Laksen suit. She has worn it almost every day since they first arrived in Qaanaaq. Mary was wearing a grey turtleneck, her navy blue Moncler down-vest and Penelope Chilvers boots. These boots have also been her favorite shoes to wear during they stay in Greenland.

The cap. Actually, King Frederik was first seen wearing this tweed cap in 2018 on a trip to the Faroe Islands. Since then, his wife has been fond of wearing it. I am still clueless where to find it. But it looks good on her.

I wanna thank you for following the official visit with me - despite my writings have been a little late. Your loyalty means the world to me. Thanks!

Day 7.

Official visit to Greenland

05 July 2024

Another day in Nuuk

The couple have accompanied each other the last week, but today they attended a few events on their own before hosting a reception onboard Dannebrog.

King Frederik visited school students who have participated in projects and competitions created by Kalaallit Nunaat - the Foundation for Entrepreneurship. He was given a guided tour around the school and introduced to some of the students ideas developed in relation with Kalaallit Nunaat.

Meanwhile, Queen Mary visited the institution Naasut. They work with the Mary Foundation's project 'Free Bullying'. The Greenlandic name is Kammagiitta. Head of Naasut Katherine Larsen Lennert talked about how they work with the project on a daily basis.

I do like a good tailored suit and Mary has so many beautiful sets. This one from SKALL Studio is not my favorite - simply because of its 80s oversize blazer. Nevertheless, I love how she matched it with a reused white BOSS blouse. Great choice. It soften the look a bit. The belt is Celine.

She embraced the outfit with elegant golden earrings and a bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Her two other golden bangles are still a true mystery to me. I think they are custom-made. The diamond necklace is Halberstadt. Look closer and you will see her Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen ring.

I am not able to tell the exact model but she is indeed wearing brand new suede Prada boots. To me they look chocolate-brown.

Arriving in Narsarsuaq

King Frederik and Queen Mary spend first half of their day in Nuuk and after hosting a reception at lunch time, they traveled to Narsarsuaq. The couple (and the twins) travel with Dannebrog. They arriving were captured in a few photos. Nothing fancy. Just the couple arriving in silence.

The photos gave us a glimpse of a wonderful traveling outfit. Mary wore a stunning new jacket from Meqqussalik and green Laksen trousers. Adore her natural look: soft curly hair, Gucci glasses and Penelope Chilvers boots. She was also seen wearing the trousers a couple of days ago when fishing in the Eternal Fjord.

Mary was also seen wearing a brand new bag. It has been identified as Palorosa. Never heard of the brand before but I really like this design.

Visiting Igaliku

When arriving in Narsarsuaq a little earlier it was also to visit the small 'bygd' (a village) Igaliku. The King and Queen will spend the night in Igaliku.

Igaliku is known as the village where the famous viking chief Erik the Red docked with his ship more than a thousand years ago. He settled in Greenland as was leader of the northerners.

King Frederik and Queen Mary also went for a walk at 'Kongevejen' (the kings road) named after Kind Frederik IX in 1952.

When visiting Igaliku, Mary had chosen to keep on her green Laksen trousers as when the couple arrived in Narsarsuaq. She matched it with her Laksen jacket and new Laksen checkered blouse. Mary, please wear this blouse again. Looks so good on you! Even Frederik wore a checkered blouse - and a jacket matching his wife.

She stayed warm by wearing a brown knitted beanie and scarf. I think the scarf is the one she received as a gift when visiting Greenland in 2004.

The suede boots are from Penelope Chilvers.

Day 6.

Official visit to Greenland

04 July 2024

A day in Nuuk

The royal family has already spend five days in Greenland and now the four of them have arrived in Nuuk. They were warmly welcomed when arriving with Dannebrog. The official welcoming was at the City Hall. Later, followed a guided tour at Nuuk's new school Atuarfik Inussuk.

Before visiting Nuuk's new airport, King Frederik and Queen Mary attended lunch with Naalakkersuisut - the Greenlandic Government and the Presidency of Inatsisartut.

Once again, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine accompanied their parents.

Mary looked so elegant in her Greenlandic national costume. The colors are so vivid. I adore the combination of materials and colors. The fact that it is handmade makes it even more impressive. Mary was gifted the costume on her first official visit in Greenland in 2004.

On occasion of her 50th birthday, her costume was exhibited at Koldinghus in Kolding as part of the exhibition 'Mary and the Crown Princesses'. I visited the exhibition and the costume is even more beautiful in reality. Did you know that the costume also comes with a clutch and a matching brooch to the earrings?

She also wore the matching handbag, shoes and fine earrings. Such as a diamond ring from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Nuuk's new airport

After a quick change of clothes, the four of them visited Nuuk's new airport. They were given a guided tour around the facilities. Maybe one day, they will land an airplane in the new airport?

King Frederik and Queen Mary also visited a workshop. The craftsmen are currently working on a memorial stone in honor of polar explorer Arnarulunnguaq. She was the only female polar explorer participating the world-famous fifth Thule expedition in 1921-1924.

I have absolutely nothing bag to say about her daytime outfit. Love every single part of it. The color-combo is splendid. That soft pink Hugo Boss silk satin blouse, elegant grey JOSEPH trousers and a matching suede Ralph Lauren belt.

How often have you worn pink and grey? 10 points goes to Mary for this combo. She embraced the chic style by wearing a black midi wool-blend coat.

Mary had chosen the handbag matching her Greenlandic national costume. I LOVE THAT! What a gesture. The Rosequartz earrings are custom-made by Dulong Fine Jewelry. She has worn them on a number of occasions. My archive counts 58 events. Like in 2011, when the couple left Rigshospitalet with their newborn twins. Or presenting the 'Government's Integration Prize' in 2009.

The grey suede ankle boots are reused from Prada.

Official dinner at Katuaq

In the evening, King Frederik and Queen Mary attended Naalakkersuisut's official dinner at the Culture House Katuaq in Nuuk. The royal couple were invited as guests of honor.

The Chairman of Naalakkersuisut (the Greenlandic Government) Múte Bourup Egede welcomed the couple when they arrived to Katuaq.

King Frederik gave a speech at the evenings dinner:

"It is possible to fall in love with a people and a country?" - It is. I can confirm that. Greenland has a ver special meaning to my family and I. Queen Mary and I are therefor pleased to be here along with Prince Vincent Minik and Princess Josephine Ivalo."

Minik and Ivalo are the sibling's Greenlandic names.

Now we are talking. I am rarely disappointed with Mary's evening outfits but this one is simply exquisite! I learned from Royal Fashion Police that she wore a brand new Teri Jon by Rickie Freeman evening dress. The dress has been altered a bit. It got a smaller collar and a waist-band instead of a ribbon.

Do you like the alterations? - I am a huge fan.

Her stunning earrings and matching pendants are smashing creations by talented Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Mary wore the earrings in 2022 when attending an official dinner on occasion of King Willlem-Alexander and Queen Maxima's visit in Denmark. We also get a glimpse of a reused diamond bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

The fine snakeskin box clutch is a Judith Leiber design - one of Mary's absolute favorite evening clutches and (of course) her magnificent golden leather pumps from Manolo Blahnik.

Day 5.

Official visit to Greenland

03 July 2024

The family had no official appearances on July 3rd and King Frederik, Queen Mary and Prince Vincent decided to go fishing at the the Eternal Fjord. The Government President Múte Bourup Egede accompanied them and acted as host of the day.

Múte Bourup Egede introduced them to the magnificent nature and shared what he know about whales, seals and the polar fox.

Did you catch any fish? - indeed they did. The fish were later cocked on the way back to Dannebrog.

How many countries can brag about having a Queen that show up on a boat in Greenland fishing wearing outdoor clothes? - Denmark can! Mary even look stylish wearing her Laksen set. That olive green is a great color for her. She first wore the trousers a few days ago when visiting Qeqertarsuaq on June 30th.

This time she styled the set with her raspberry red knitted beanie and Gucci sunglasses. With help from UFO No More her new gloves have been identified as Laksen. One again, Mary was wearing Penelope Chilvers boots. Perfekt for the event.

Day 4.

Official visit to Greenland

02 July 2024

A day in Sisimiut

The royal family have now arrived in Sisimiut - the vestcost of Greenland. They were warmly welcomed by the citizens of Sisimiut.

King Frederik and Queen Mary were both dressed in their Greenlandic national  costumes. The Queen was gifted the costumes on her first visit to Greenland in 2004. It comes with boots and a little handbag.

The four of them then visited Sisimiut Museum which included a guided tour around the museum. Prince Vincent joined his father for a visit at 'Hundebyen' (probably best translated to 'the dog city'). In Hundebyen they produce local sustainable dogsfood.

Meanwhile, Queen Mary paid a visit to the Pissassarfik - a disability center in Sisimiut. They also attended a reception at the Culture House Taseralik and were given a tour around Sisimiut, such as a visit at KTI Tech College Greenland.

Both King Frederik and Queen Mary looked absolutely wonderful in their Greenlandic national costumes! The colors of Mary's commutes are exquisite. Love how she made it stand for itself. No fancy hairstyle. No fancy jewellery. Just a simple half-updo and delicate unpolished rubies.

She was gifted the earrings in 2004, when the couple first visited Greenland. Mary's first trip to Greenland. I do not know for sure, but my best guess is that the earrings were part of the gift (the national costume) such as the little handbag.

The fine diamond ring is a reuse from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Mary is often fond of wearing the single diamond band when not wearing too many jewellery for an event.

Kaffemik in Sisimiut

Around afternoon, King Frederik and Queen Mary already enjoyed a wonderful day in Sisimiut. They then attended a traditional 'kaffemik' - a kinda of 'afternoon tea', at Sisimiut sports hall. The perfect opportunity for people to get real close to the royal couple. It was truly a remarkable sight! The photos speaks for themselves.

The two of them also watched performances from some of Sisimiut's associations.

When attending kaffemik, Mary had changed clothes. She was wearing a reused Arma vest in a lovely dust color. She matched it was a while turtleneck (!!), black trousers and her Uniqlo down-coat. I like what I see.

Took quite a few photos to gather informations about her complete outfit. Get all the details. We get a glimpse of her wearing unidentified sunglasses and her brown leather crossbody bag from Chloe. Also seen a couple of days ago. She kept on the stunning diamond ring from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and was gifted a beautiful necklace. Worn right away. I also see a Dulong Fine Jewelry bracelet and of course that new golden Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings.

Looks like Mary was wearing simple black boots. No ID yet.

Reception on Dannebrog

In the evening, King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted their first event. A reception on board Dannebrog. King Frederik handed over Ridderkorset (the Knight's Cross) to the specially invited guests.

We really do not have many photos are informations about the reception, but I guess they had a great evening. Maybe a little drink to starters and then a fine dinner later on. Looking at Mary's outfit, I feel the reception was pretty informal. She wore a reused printed Zimmermann blouse and black JOSEPH trousers. Somehow, I like it better worn with white trousers as when she presented the 'National Teaching Award' in 2023.

Mary embraced the outfit with elegant white pearl earrings custom-made by Dulong Fine Jewelry and what looks like her golden bangle from Rebekka Notkin.

Day 3.

Official visit to Greenland

01 July 2024

The royal couple already spend a day in Qaanaaq and in Qeqertarsuaq. On July 1st, Dannebrog docked in Attu in West Greenland. Likely all 200 people living in Attu showed up to get a glimpse of King Frederik and Queen Mary. They were very popular.

They were welcomed with smiles, handshakes and singing. Visiting Attu, King Frederik also revealed a memorial stone on occasion of the towns 200th anniversary.

King Frederik and Queen Mary were given a guided tour around Attu. They watched the church and kindergarten. Attu's kindergarten work with the Greenlandic version of the Mary Foundation's 'Free of Bullying' program. It is called Kammagitta. They then joined the traditional 'kaffemik'.

I need a poncho like that! Did you know that Mary actually wore the exact same knitted poncho back in 2014, then the couple visited Greenland? Loved it then. Love it now. Somehow, I feel it could be a gift given to her in 2014 when visiting Paamiut. This time, Mary wore the poncho with a navy blue down-jacket, fur cuffs and reused SKALL Studio checkered trousers.

She later revealed wearing a brand new POLO Ralph Lauren sweater in a significant sea green color. She matched it with a soft blue button-down. Not quite sure about the color. What do you think? But I like that she chose some color.

Took quite a few photos to see how she accessorized the outfit: a golden diamond bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry, a diamond band from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and beloved white and yellow diamond earrings. Her stunning polarbear brooch was a gift from a residents in Attu. Love that she wore it right away!

Mary also wore a beautiful knitted hat and R.M. Williams ankle boots.

Day 2.

Official visit to Greenland

30 June 2024

The royal family were on a very special mission today. They sailed the seas around Qeqertarsuaq to inaugurate a whale microphone. An equipment used by the Arctic Station's scientists to follow and get closer to the animals at sea at the Disco Bay.

Later on, the family were welcomed at Kongebroen in Qeqertarsuaq with a following reception at Hotel Qeqertarsuaq. King Frederik joined the 'ready-set-go' of 'Qeqertarsuaq Race, Family Mile', which Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine participated.

Time for some war clothes. No doubt that the family have packed for colder weather. Today, Mary wore a number of different jacket - also worn at the same time. One of them is a brand new blue down-jacket from Patagonia. Another one from well-known Härkila. A third reused one from Uniqlo and a fourth navy blue wool-blend coat. I do not remember if we have seen this last coat before. But I doubt it.

Mary later matched a knitted beanie with a beautiful dark raspberry turtleneck. I love a good turtleneck! Looks good with everything. Fine skirts, tweed, simple black trousers, etc. That is exactly what Mary wore. Simple black trousers. I like it.

After their boat-trip, Mary changed to something a bit more stylish (the navy blue coat, black JOSEPH trousers and colorful turtleneck). She also changed her shoes. According to UFO No More, she wore new ankle boots from R.M. Williams. I haven't been able to find any photos clearly showing her boots, but this time I go with the flow. Her other boots are from Penelope Chilvers.

The sunglasses need no further introduction. They are from Gucci and of course you all know about her fine little brown leather bag from Chloe. It goes back to 2013.

Day 1.

Official visit to Greenland

29 June 2024

What we have all been waiting for: the King and Queen have started their official visit to Greenland. It turns out the Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine accompanied their parents. The family are staying at Dannebrog while visiting a number of Greenlandic cities.

The family arrived in Pituffik Space Base with an official welcoming in Qaanaaq. The couple also visited Qaanaaq back in 2004, when the Queen attended her first official visit to Greenland along with (then) Crown Prince Frederik and her parents-in-law.

After a reception at Qaanaaq City Hall and a following 'kaffemik' they arrived at Aasiaat and were welcomed at Aasiaat Museum and Niels Egedes Square.

A long day has passed and the royal family boarded Dannebrog to dock Qeqertarsuaq tomorrow.

The weather seems a bit on the close side in Qaanaaq. Mary was warmly dressed in a pair of black wide-legged trousers and a brand new knitted sweater. We get a glimpse of a soft reused ba&sh blouse underneath.

Mary had then chosen a new caramel wool-blend coat from Stella McCartney. Like these oversize coats/blazers but not for me. Makes me look smaller and wider. The down-vest is an old one from Uniqlo.

She styled the outfit with black boots, cozy brown gloves, a knitted hat (new?) and an amazing navy blue scarf. I also see a golden diamond bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry and stunning shiny earrings. I have never been able to identify the earrings. Maybe one day. Her ring is Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Crown Prince Christian's graduation ceremony

28 June 2024

On June 24th, Crown Prince Christian graduated high school from Ordrup Gymnasium. Graduating high school in Denmark comes with a graduation ceremony. Ordrup Gymnasium celebrated the graduation on June 28th.

The Crown Prince was accompanied by his fellow students and of course his family. King Frederik and Queen Mary attended the ceremony from front raw with Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.

Tradition prescribes 'studenterkørsel'. The students drive from one students home to another in different types of trucks. Partying, having fun and celebrating their graduation. Of course the truck also stopped by Amalienborg. The Crown Prince and his classmates were all warmly welcomed by the royal family - also Queen Margrethe.

Love her look at Christian's graduation ceremony! She looks amazing in her POLO Ralph Lauren two-piece. Mary first wore the set at the opening of Jetsmark in August 2023. Really like the 'casual vibe'. Great match with those brown heeled Gianvito Rossi sandals. Comfy meets classy. Once again, she wore the set with a simple white blouse.

She accessorized her outfit with incredible reused golden earrings from Orit Elhanati. Adore Elhanati's craftsmanship. She is very talented. Her masterpiece necklaces are created by Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. Did you notice that Mary also wore a green emerald and diamond ring? It's an old one but I have never been able to identify it.

I am a Prada-bag-girl. I do not own a single one, but Mary convinced me years ago. Her Prada bag collection is outstanding. Especially, her handbags. Like the one she wore at her son's graduation. Everything is perfect.

The King's personal library

27 June 2024

The King's personal library (in Danish 'Kongens Håndbibliotek') was founded at the time of King Frederik 5. in 1746 and is a collection of the private books, manuscripts, maps, pictures, photos and music.

Till now, the library has been limited for the Danish monarchs but from June 29th the personal library will be open to the public - on weekends and during the summer holiday. It is located at Christian VIII's Palace at Amalienborg in Copenhagen.

A few days before the official opening, King Frederik and Queen Mary visited the library for a little talk and a view on some of the library's fine art.

Wish we had more photos from their visit at the library. Something that showed a few more details about her outfit. But I like what I see. Mary matched soft blue button-down with what I believe to be light grey trousers and a chic brown leather belt. I am nothing closer to identify her outfit. Maybe one day.

Mary's is indeed casual and down-on-earth. Hardly any makeup and simple ponytail. I love her confidence and that fact that Denmark's Queen are willing to post photos like these for the world to see. Adore the message.

Her beloved necklaces are Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. The tortoise-like glasses are Gucci. Think it is her favorite pair of glasses.

Crown Prince Christian has graduated high school

24 July 2024

Our beloved Crown Prince Christian has finally graduated high school! He graduated from Ordrup Gymnasium in Gentofte.

Both his proud parents and younger siblings were there to congratulate him and celebrate the day. No doubt that King Frederik and Queen Mary were incredibly proud of their eldest. Even I feel he was just brought home from Rigshospitalet in 2006.

In a few days, he will participate a traditional graduation ceremony along with all his other classmates.

What a lovely family! It is precious to see them all togther. Celebrating Crown Prince Christian's important day. They were all dressed casual, yet polished. Princess Isabella and Princess Josephine in windy blouse. Prince Vincent in white shorts - matching his older brothers bright white trousers and King Frederik in two different shades of blue.

Mary on the other hand wore a wonderful printed Zimmermann skirt and a beloved white linen Bagutta blouse. One she has become very fond of lately. She first wore the beautiful skirt on a business trip to Indonesia in 2019.

She embraced the down-on-earth-look with brown midi heeled sandals from Gianvito Rossi and a chic Prada bag. I really love that bag! The texture is great. Mary's fine jewellery are earrings and a golden bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry and Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau necklaces.

'Maraton Sining' at Vartov College

21 June 2024

Queen Mary acted as hostess of the event 'Maraton Sining" at the Vartov College in Copenhagen. The even is an annual gathering. The Queen was one of the events hostess and themed songs about 'Denmark'. The event took place at the Vartov College - not by accident. One of our beloved songwriter N.F.S. Grundtvig was a priest at Vartov from 1838 to 1872.

She even chose five songs herself: "Der er et yndigt lands", "Underlige aftenlufte", Kærlighed til fædrelandet", "Lyse nætter" and "I Danmark er jeg født".

"The Danish song treasure is a crown jewel in our cultural heritage. There is something extraordinarily lovely about singing together because we feel connected to each other when we do it."
- Queen Mary

There is no doubt that Mary was indeed honored to be one of "Marathon Sining's" hosts. Felt like the sining crawl on her back and made her one big smile. Her spirt made her outfit even more stunning! I truly adored everything about Mary's outfit. She looked amazing in that brand new Zimmermann dress. The color and print are smashing.

She accessorized her new long dress with custom-made earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry - first worn in 2008 which makes them sixteen years old. Her Halberstadt is rather new, but already a beloved piece of jewellery. Dulong Fine Jewelry also created Mary's beautiful ring and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen mastered one of her diamond bands.

Her Malone Souliers pumps have never really been my favorite pair of shoes. You know that. But these brown ones have caught my eye in another way. I like them. What is you opinion?

Celebrating Greenland's National Day

21 June 2024

On June 21st, Greenland celebrate their National Day. King Frederik and Queen Mary joined the celebration and made a little note on sociale media with the words:

"Greenland celebrates their National Day today. On this occasion, we send our warmest greetings to the Greenlandic people. We both have unforgettable memories from Greenland, and we look forward to revisiting the beautiful country and the hospitable people in a week."

The post came with a few photos from the couple's previous visits to Greenland. Both of them dressed to keep warm. Mary was wearing a huge fur hat, what looks like a brown knitted sweater, gloves and a cozy scarf. Back in 2004, the couple made their first office visit to Greenland. Mary was gifted with a brown knitted scarf. I am pretty sure this is the one. The jacket named itself: 66 North.

"Find the Elephant - Experience Aarhus"

20 June 2024

Queen Mary attended the event "Find the Elephant - Experience Aarhus" in Aarhus. The project is by the Psychiatry Foundation - one of her patronages.

"Find the Elephant - Experience Aarhus" is an 'exhibition' of 30 decorated elephant sculptures located all over Aarhus to raise awareness about mental illnesses. The sculptures are designed by both Danish and international artists. End of summer 2024, the elephant sculptures will be auctioned in favor of the Psychiatry Foundation's work to ensure better treatment and terms for people with a mental illness.

During her visit in Aarhus, she met with some of the artists and residents from Enghaven in Horsens, who shared with her poems of own experiences with a mental illness.

Seems like Mary is quite fond of simple outfits these days. When attending the event in Aarhus, she had wisely chosen a blue and white pinstriped Bagutta blouse and chic navy blue Max Mara trousers. She first wore them at Queen Margrethe's 84th birthday in April. The blouse is from the couple's first day in Norway on May 14th.

Mary captured a wonderful outfit with a few (but stunning) pieces of jewellery. We all know about the initial 'F'-necklace from Halberstadt, but do you remember her beautiful Louise Grønlykke earrings? Well, we have only seen them once. In 2021, when the couple had a small chat with Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

Honestly, I have never really been a huge fan of her Malone Souliers heels. The design is a bit odd to me, but the more Mary wears them, I have a good eye for them. What is your opinion?

Denmark VS ...

These days, the Denmark's football team are participating the European Championships. Closely followed by the royal family. They supported the team with cheering words and a 'good luck'.

Queen Mary captured the atmosphere with a photo of King Frederik, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine ready to watch the game between Denmark and Slovenia on June 16th.

On June 20th, Princess Josephine joined her father in Germany to watch the game between Denmark and England. The two of them had a great time together. They even met with Prince William.

We have one game to go: Denmark VS Serbia on June 25th.

"3daysofdesign"

14 June 2024

These days, the design festival '3daysofdesign' takes place in Copenhagen. One specific, very unique piece of art is exhibited: a wooden dining table made from surplus wood. The wood used to make the table are Tasmanian pine, beech from Fredensborg Castle Park and 14 other types of wood. They each tell stories from near and far.

The idea came up when the royal house's carpentry workshop was to remodel the transformation of an old workshop building.

On June 14th, Queen Mary visited '3daysofdesign' and firsthand inspected the outstanding wooden table. Truly a remarkable craftsmanship.

I have nothing bad to say about Mary's rather casual outfit when visiting the design festival on June 14th. Love how she matched wide-legged soft white trousers with a new pin-striped blue/white shirt. Just look at those amazing details! The huge white cuffs and collar are a cool finesse. The same goes with the brand new belt. Stunning way to accessorize a pretty simple outfit.

Take a closer look and you will see golden pieces of jewellery. Of course, her beloved initial diamond necklace from Halberstadt. Her smashing golden earrings are crafted by talented Rebekka Notkin. The bangle is a reused from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

We get a slight glimpse of her shoes. I was in doubt when reading that they were from Prada. I studied the photo a million times and I think they are right. Mary is wearing old woven Prada heels. She first wore them for a "girls night out" with girlfriend Caroline Fleming in 2013.
