Queen Margrethe's 86th Birthday

April 16, 2026

Queen Margrethe celebrated her 86th birthday at Fredensborg Castle. King Frederik and Queen Mary accompanied the Queen on her birthday. Her sister Queen Anne-Marie was also present to make it a memorable day. The Queen was also celebrated by Danes who had showed up at Fredenborg to congratulate her and with a beautiful concert watched from the main staircase.

While Queen Margrethe looked like a bright colorful star in a red skirt, burgundy blazer and white blouse, her daughter-in-law was modest dressed in a plain navy blue suit. The blazer is a reuse from Harris Wharf London. She paired it with Max Mara trousers and Jimmy Choo pumps. I'm only able to recognize her earrings a Sophie Bille Brahe and one ring as Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. I'm very interested in her new golden brooch. Could it be a gift from her mother-in-law?

"Welcome to Flik and Flak"

March 30, 2026

At the time of King Christian X, the royal stables housed two horses names Flik and Flak. Many years later, Crown Prince Christian was given a pony as a christening gift from the Danish Government and Parliament. It was named Flikflak.

On March 30th, Queen Mary welcomed two new horses to the royal stables. Flik and Flak are now back in the stables to serve the royal family on special occasions.

I was a wonderful sight to see the Queen with the horses. Seems like she enjoyed the peaceful moment. Welcoming Flik and Flak, Mary looked fine in a blouse from Maje and a herringbone-tweed blazer from Ralph Lauren. Her shiny jewellery are creations by both Sophie Bille Brahe and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Love the combo of diamond rings.

Day 2. Official State Visit to Australia

March 15, 2026

Sunset over Uluṟu

The royal couple started their day by visiting Muṯitjulu Waterhole in Uluṟu to watch the beautiful sunset. A personal guide shared the experience with King Frederik and Queen Mary while sharing informations and stories from the area.

In the morning hours the couple looked liked any other tourists admiring the sunset. The King flashed an army printed hat, hiking boots and a back pack with (supposedly) supplies for the walk. His wife matched his style with perfection: a messy knot in a cap, linen shorts and practical walking boots.

I love their "undercover" outfits!

Arriving in Canberra

King Frederik and Queen Mary then arrived in Canberra. They were warmly welcomed at the Government House by Sam Mostyn, the Governor-General of Australia and spouse Simeon Beckett. As part of the welcoming, the couple participated a traditional some ceremony.

I was in love with the couple when they visited the Muṯitjulu Waterhole in Uluṟu. They blended in like it was the most easy thing in the world - if it wasn't for the many photographers and journalists...

When arriving in Canberra, Mary had changed to one of her stunning floral printed dressed in Zimmermann. It is not my favorite dress though I adore the bright color! Because of the smashing color and I think it is great that she chose rather neutral Gianvito Rossi pumps.

Like the woman performing the smoke ceremony, Mary was too beautifully bejewelled wearing jewellery from both Rebekka Notkin, Orit Elhanati, Dulong Fine Jewelry and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Some of the finest jewellery designers were have in Denmark.

Official welcoming ceremony in Canberra

King Frederik and Queen Mary were also welcomed in Canberra with at an official ceremony at the Government House. The gathering were hosted by the Governor-General of Australia Sam Mostyn and her spouse Simeon Beckett.

A second welcoming ment a second (or third) outfit suited for the occasion. Mary had chosen a brand new floral printed set from Claes Iversen. It's a couture design from 2016 which tells us that fashion never goes out of style.

The weather was wonderful. Warm and sunny. Mary's color-palette was really well-chosen. The dusty blue head piece matched both the reused LIN8 clutch and the blue sky. Her summery look was topped of with beige pointed leather from Prada.

Gala dinner at the Government House

It has already been a fantastic day. We are so spoiled. Just look at all those incredible outfits. Can it get any better? Apparently, yes.

In the evening, the Governor-General of Australia Sam Mostyn and spouse Simeon Beckett hosted a gala dinner at the Government House in honor of the King and Queen's visit. Both King Frederik and Sam Mostyn gave a speech at the dinner.

Mary truly looked like a star on a starry night. Her amazing evening gown is a reused and altered Jesper Høvring creation. It goes back to the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling in 2010. I am truly a fan of the original design but I the added golden top/sleeve. Makes it even more glamorous.

Like it wasn't enough: she wore stunning jewellery from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and a fine bracelet that once belonged to Crown Princess Lovisa.

Official State Visit to Australia

Arrival

March 13, 2026

The Royal Couple arrived in Perth earlier today to attend an official state visit to Australia. The Queen looked absolutely smashing when arriving in Perth! Simple, yet classy in an oversize black suit and peach colored blouse. Peach is always up for discussion but I think she balanced it quite well. Also because of the chic Palorosa bag and matching Chanel flats. And just look at those new Georgio Armani sunglasses. Wauw!

They haven't been back for quite a few years. Now, they will be spending almost a week in the Queen's homeland. It is by invitation by Governor-General of Australia Sam Mostyn the King and Queen are back in Australia.

They are accompanied by Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaard and a Danish business delegation.

Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing 2026

March 06, 2026

The Danish Warmblood Stallion licensing is one of the largest equestrian events in Northern Europe. This year it took place within the first week of March in Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning. The event gathered some of the world's best dressage riders and Queen Mary was there with some close friends to watch it all.

Princess Benedikte was suppose to have attended the event but cancelled her presence. Maybe the Queen unofficially replaced her? Nevertheless, she was present for the show and following licensing and she was awfully welldressed. I don't even know where to begin...

On March 6th, she arrived in Jyske Bank Boxen dressed in a smashing reused denim jumper! (I want one right now). Mary first wore the piece last year at another dressage event in May. This year, she matched it with a new short Great Stockholm jacket. Love how she wore the sleeves. So cool.

Mary accessorized jumpsuit with a brown leather and her beloved Ralph Lauren bag. Hope she will we wearing the shoes soon again because I'm curious to see more. Plenty of jewellery from both Rebekka Notkin, Cartier and Sophie Bille Brahe made the deal for me. And of course, the Thierry Lasry sunglasses.

The following day, Queen Mary spend yet another day in Jyske Bank Boxen with good friends to watch more of the Danish Warmblood Stallion licensing. I was a huge fan of her outfit worn yesterday. Thought nothing could beat it. I was wrong.

On the second day in Herning, she showed up wearing the most incredible outfit. My heart stopped for a second. Just look at that combo of colors, fabrics and prints. Gosh!

Mary styled a pair of simple light blue denim jeans with a new printed blouse from ME+EM and a reused knitted Allude vest. Even more perfect is the brown Max Mara jacket matched with the jeans and floral print. Once again, she wore the cool leopard boots, leather belt and Ralph Lauren bag.

Pretty sure her earrings are Sophie Bille Brahe. Mary also repeated her choice of golden bracelets from Rebekka Notkin and beloved Cartier watch.

Dinner at Kronborg Castle

March 05, 2026

What a magical surrounding for a dinner! Kronborg Castle in Helsingør roomed a fine dinner for more than 300 invited guests with the King and Queen as guest of honor. The guests represented Denmarks honorary consuls. They were gathered on occasion of the Ministry of Foreign Affair's consular meeting.

I know it was "just a dinner" and not something big and fancy but I had expected a bit more of her outfit for this gathering - and the King too. I do like her outfit. The simple white Hugo Boss blouse and that chic reused skirt made a great look, but as a guest of honor... The skirt is still unidentified. It made its debut in 2019. She wasn't even wearing that many jewellery or any spectacular ones. A little colors - maybe a berry lipstick or bordeaux nails would have done it for me.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one. Am I being too critical?

Day 2. Official State Visit to Lithuania

January 29, 2026

Queen Mary looked amazing in her long woolen skirt and soft bordeaux blouse when spending yet another day in Lithuania. She first wore the Max Mara skirt last year when visiting Latvia. Back then she also matched the beautiful skirt with the color of bordeaux. In Lithuania, Mary embraced the look wearing a brand new The Fold London blouse.

The Presidential Couple accompanied the King and Queen when they paid a vist at the Danish-Lithuanian business forum and later at the wreath-laying ceremony at Antakalnis Cemetery. At the cemetery, Mary stayed warm in a reused coat from Uniqlo and a beautiful green Harris Wharf London coat.

Later in the afternoon, the royal couple visited the NBA Basketball School in Vilnius. They joined a training session and for that Mary had changed to a lovely navy blue turtleneck and black Gianvito Rossi boots. Here we also got a better look at her diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and golden Dulong Fine Jewelry ring. It also showed the best of the brown Celine belt.

I'm sure you noticed her changing boots along they way. The soft light brown boots are old ones from Valentino. My all-time favorite boots of hers.

Official Opening of "Friends in Need"

What is not to like? Mary won my vote for best-dressed at the official opening of the "Friends in Need"-exhibition. They Presidential Couple joined the King and Queen at the opening at the National Library of Lithuania. The exhibition is in honor of the friendship between Denmark and Lithuania.

Mary wore the most beautiful white Andiata suit paired with a reused dusty pink blouse which (unfortunately) has never been identified. The combination of colors and materials are exquisite. The soft curly hairdo added an extra glimpse of glamour to her look. So did the smashing new Julie Sandlau earrings. I'm pretty sure she wore a ring as well but I'm not sure which one.

When the couple arrived at the National Library of Lithuania Mary (once again) wore her fine Harris Wharf London coat. She completed the outfit with stunning beige pointed Prada pumps.

Day 2. Official State Visit to Estonia

January 28, 2026

King Frederik and Queen Mary spend their send and last day in Estonia by visiting the CR14 - a national cyber range.

Then followed a return event hosted by the royal couple with the Presidential Couple guests of honor. The reception took place at the Town Hall at Old Market Square.

The couple were then off by plain to continue their official state visit in Lithuania.

I do like a good old suit but somehow I wish Mary would soon wear something else. She most often wear suits and has been for a couple of years now. I really miss her wearing a dress for everyday events.

The tweed suit worn on their second day in Estonia is a new one from The Fold London. Love that she embraced the style with that reused black leather belt from Celine. Looks good. Her dark green wool-blend coat is an old one from Harris Wharf London.

As accessorized, Mary had chosen beloved glasses from Gucci and diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe. A closer look revealed her also wearing a fine golden ring from Rebekka Notkin.

She matched the black belt with heeled suede boots (possible new) and the most incredible Mulberry handbag. I adore this kind of handbag. 100% unpractical but 100% amazing.

"LIVE WITHOUT VIOLENCE"

November 24, 2025

For years the Mary Foundation (and Queen Mary) has worked non-stop to fight against violence amongst intimate partner violence. Reports shows that in 2024 around 135,000 adults were exposed to physical, psychological or sexual violence by a current or former partner.

"If we all become better at recognizing violence and taking action when we see violence or suspect it, we can make a difference for many families and for many children." - a quote from one of Queen Mary's speeches earlier this year at a conference about detecting domestic violence.

The Mary Foundation teamed up with Lev Uden Vold (Live Without Violence) and gathered advices about knowledge about violence and a following guide.

A few days later I realized that the foundation's webpage has included new photos of as well. I believe Stine Heilmann is to praise for the photos.

I have the feeling that the photo could have been taken from one of their meetings. Feel like we have seen this look before but I can't recall when or where. Nevertheless, Mary was beautifully dressed in a simple white turtleneck and her soft grey woolen coat from JOSEPH. My guess is that her handbag is from Prada. A blue one but the photo does not show enough to tell for sure.

Her diamond earrings are from Sophie Bille Brahe. After all, these might be her most beloved earrings tough I'm still not quite sure they are my favorites.

I have truly missed an outfit like this. Just look at it! The silhouette is smashing. Love how she matched the stunning printed Jesper Høvring blouse with a simple a-line skirt. I have no ID on the skirt but I am pretty sure it is a new addition to wardrobe. Beautiful how the Prada belt defined her waistline.

I am still trouble about the Sophie Bille Brahe earrings. The diamond/gold combination is outstanding and works very time but the design bothers me. Apparently Mary disagrees. But they do look good with this outfit.

Mary is an honest master of finding same colors in nuance. The same goes with how she matched her new skirt and belt with the dark blue Quidam clutch. Wearing nude or beige pumps/shoes is a clever trick. Makes your legs look longer. She has used this "trick" for many years. I was just reminded how well it works.

What a beautiful outfit Mary wore at the Nordic Rare Diseases Summit on September 17th. I love the printed Zimmermann dress and the brown suede Prada jacket. Did you know that Mary first wore this jacket back in January 2005 when visiting New York? The Zimmermann dress goes back to the christening of Prince Gustav Albrecht in 2023.

Mary embraced the style by wearing golden diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and a bangle from Rebekka Notkin. I'm still very much interested in learning more about the diamond ring. Looks like three diamond bands but I think it's only one ring.

Her stunning suede brown pumps are new ones from Gianvito Rossi. Mary rocked this outfit!

Love the colors Mary chose for the event! It's a wonderful match of colors, different fabrics and silhouettes. Mary wore a stunning printed blouse from ME+EM and The Fold London trousers. She paired it with an amazing Harris Wharf London blazer and beige trenchcoat. What is not to like. Later on she changed from blazer to knitted sweater. A brand new one from Jardin des Orangers.

Mary accessorized her outfit with golden diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and a custom-made Dulong Fine Jewelry ring. Simple, yet elegant. When gardening Mary wore a pair of Kent&Stowe gloves.

When arriving at GeoCenter Møns Klint she was wearing a brown pair of Malone Souliers pumps. Later on she changed to brown suede boots. Think we have seen them before but I'm not quite sure. Do you recognize them?

The National Grief Centre's 25th anniversary

September 12, 2025

Queen Mary attended the 25th anniversary of the Children, Youth & Grief initiative by the National Grief Centre as guest of honor and as their patron. She was warmly welcomed at her arrived. The Queen was in a splendid mood. All smiles and heartwarming attention on her side.

The National Grief Centre offers free psychological support to bereaved families and their relatives. Especially their Children, Youth & Grief project has had the Queen's support. She had prepared a speech on the occasion. The Queen also met with some of the young people who have used the support offered by the National Grief Centre. They shared their stories with her.

How to spice a simple ultramarine suit? Just add a splash of pink accessories! I love Mary for her choice in color and accessory. Her matching set is from Max Mara. On a few previous occasion has she been seen wearing the trousers but it is the first time she wears the double-breasted blazer. It's kinda cool, right?

No doubt that I adore the pink flower brooch and reused Carlend Copenhagen clutch. Love it when she surprises us with details like these. The bespoke flower brooch is actually a removable pin worn as accessory on her hats. It is created by milliner Susanne Juul.

Mary also wore fine diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and an elegant golden necklace from Louise Grønlykke. I also see an Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen ring.

Day 4. Summer tour with Dannebrog

Samsø

August 28, 2025

King Frederik and Queen Mary arrived with Dannebrog in Koldby Kås in the morning. They were warmly welcomed by the Mayor, Marcel Meijer.

Then they enjoyed a carriage ride from Koldby Kås to Tranebjerg were they were officially welcomed at Anton Rosen's House at Anton Rosen's Square. Around noon they royal couple visited ExamVision. They produce special magnifying glasses for dentists and surgeons worldwide.

Followed by a visit at Tranebjerg Church, and then lunch at the famous Brundby Rockhotel. They ended their day in Nordby.

This rather pale range of beige/brown colors actually look really good on her. Especially with her light brown hair and fair skin. I would look like I just fainted. Mary wore her elegant ME+EM dress and a reused linen blazer from Harris Wharf London. Love the mix of fabrics. The new Canopy Bay by Deborah Hutton straw hat was a perfect match with the outfit.

She always impressive when wearing this many pieces of jewellery and still make it look super casual. Her white pearl earrings are old custom-made ones from Dulong Fine Jewelry such as a couple of her bracelets and beautiful ring. Her other two golden bangles are from talented Rebekka Notkin.

I am still not sure about her Gianvito Rossi pumps. I'm not really a fan of kitten-heels - especially not pointed kitten-heels. But the textsure it marvelous.

Reception

In the evening the royal couple hosted their very last reception this summer tour at Dannebrog with invited guests from Samsø. The reception even triggered a new profile photo of the couple for social media. What a beautiful couple.

You know what I'm going to say: who do not like a good old colored dress! What a smashing green color. Love how the designer's at Zimmermann balanced it with a soft floral print. Almost watercolor-like. What a treat for our eyes this last day on their summer tour around Denmark.

I wish we had a fullbody photo to see what shoes she had chosen. I am curious. What do you think? - white, green, yellow..? We get a glimpse of her beloved golden diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and her stunning Louise Grønlykke necklace. I get why she loves it.
