The National Grief Centre's 25th anniversary

September 12, 2025

Queen Mary attended the 25th anniversary of the Children, Youth & Grief initiative by the National Grief Centre as guest of honor and as their patron. She was warmly welcomed at her arrived. The Queen was in a splendid mood. All smiles and heartwarming attention on her side.

The National Grief Centre offers free psychological support to bereaved families and their relatives. Especially their Children, Youth & Grief project has had the Queen's support. She had prepared a speech on the occasion. The Queen also met with some of the young people who have used the support offered by the National Grief Centre. They shared their stories with her.

How to spice a simple ultramarine suit? Just add a splash of pink accessories! I love Mary for her choice in color and accessory. Her matching set is from Max Mara. On a few previous occasion has she been seen wearing the trousers but it is the first time she wears the double-breasted blazer. It's kinda cool, right?

No doubt that I adore the pink flower brooch and reused Carlend Copenhagen clutch. Love it when she surprises us with details like these. The bespoke flower brooch is actually a removable pin worn as accessory on her hats. It is created by milliner Susanne Juul.

Mary also wore fine diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and an elegant golden necklace from Louise Grønlykke. I also see an Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen ring.

Her chic glasses are Gucci and the navy blue suede pumps are from Jimmy Choo.

I feel this outfit makes mixed emotions amongst you. Am I right? I am totally in love with everything about it. The color, the different fabrics. Something classy and polish, and something feminine and elegant. I adore how she matched her Scanlan & Theodore suit with an old 2009 By Malene Birger blouse. She last wore the blouse in 2011 at the wedding of Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Woodstock. Even the belt matched! Did you know that Mary first wore the Prada belt in Australia in 2005?

Mary embraced the outfit with stunning white pearl earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a smashing ring. The ring is a reuse but I have never been able to identify it. Could it be a custom-made? Her hairpiece is created by Danish milliner Susanne Juul.

What is not to like? Even her Jimmy Choo pumps matched the colors of her outfit. Somehow I have come to love this outfit even more writing about it.

27 January 2025

More than 1.1 million people lost their life in the german concentration camp 'Auschwitz' during World War II. Since 1947 Auschwitz has worked as a memorial for victims and survivors, and as a museum.

European royals from both Spain, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Luxembourg were gathered in Poland to honor the many victims. King Frederik and Queen Mary represented Denmark at the honoring along with four Danish survivors and the Danish Prime Minister.

In honor of the victims and survivors I will pray for 1 minute in silence.

Day 1.

State visit from The Arab Republic of Egypt

06 December 2024

Official welcoming

By invitation, the President of The Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al Sisi is visiting Denmark from December 6-7th.

President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi was officially welcomed at Amalienborg Square by King Frederik and Queen Mary followed by a honorary visit at Kastellet. They were driven back to Christians VII's Palace at Amalienborg by carriage.

The President of The Arab Republic of Egypt then visited Eigtveds Pakhouse to attend in a series tête-à-têtes with selected Danish business leaders. He was welcomed by Foreign Minister Lars Løkke rasmussen - former Prime Minister.

King Frederik joined the President at Eigtveds Pakhouse to launch a Danish-Egyptian trade forum with the participation of Danish and Egyptian companies and decision-makers

What an outfit Mary wore at the welcoming ceremony of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi! The combination of dark green and light grey are splendid. Love how she matched her resused The Fold London coat with a grey midi skirt and white embellished blouse. Mary first wore the beautiful green coat at a church service for Ukraine in February 2023. Pretty sure the blouse is new and that the skirt is old, but I can't tell for sure which one it is. Any ideas?

She embraced the style with an elegant felt hairpiece from Susanne Juul. She was worn it in, among others, 2014 and in 2017. Her white pearl earrings are rather new creation from Dulong Fine Jewelry. The diamond brooch is a gift from her father-in-law Prince Henrik. It belonged to his mother.

I am so sure her clutch is new. Looks like a grey snakeskin clutch. The chic light grey suede pumps are from Gianvito Rossi.

Banquet at Christiansborg

In the evening, King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a banquet at Christiansborg Castle in honor of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi's official state visit in Denmark.

A number of representatives from the Danish Government, the Egyptian delegation, the danish court and representatives from Danish and Egyptian businesses were invited to attend the banquet.

Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte also attended the dinner.

The world is impressed about Mary's evening outfit! I get it. She looked stunning in that embellished black dress! She first wore it back in 2017 when celebrating Finland's 100 years of independence. We have never been able to identify the dress and it seems like it will remain unidentified.

Mary styled the wonderful dress with her "new" tiara. The rose-cut diamond bandeau is recreated to be worn as tiara as well. Originally, it is a part of a rose-cut diamond set. She paired it with similar diamond earrings purchased at a Bruun Rasmussen auction. A closer look revealed her wearing Princess Caroline's Ivy brooch, which can also be worn as a bracelet.

The fine clutch is a reuse just like the patent leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

Day 3. Assens

21 August 2024

A day in Assens

The King and Queen have arrived in Assens. Danneborg docked in Assens harbour. The couple were driven by carriage to the official welcoming ceremony at the City Hall.

Before having lunch at Skovpavillionen, they visited the Peter Willemoes school and Lundager forest. The couple then visited Assens Forsyning - the 'Forsynings park' and 'WaterCare'.

They had already seen a little part of the city but later they participated a city walk in the town of Assens.

I kinda like the elements of this days outfit and still something is nagging me. Can't really pin-point it because the new coral printed Zimmermann dress is indeed lovely. So is the old linen blazer from Ralph Lauren. Even the Etro belt matched perfectly! What are your thoughts?

Mary had chosen a beautiful hairpiece made by Danish milliner Susanne Juul. She has created many hats and headpieces for Mary over the years. This one has been worn before. Actually, Mary first wore it in 2005, when pregnant med Crown Prince Christian!

She embraced the look with golden necklaces from Halberstadt and Dulong Fine Jewelry. The earrings I have never been able to identify. Maybe one day.

The elegant sling-backs are Gianvito Rossi and the fine leather handbag is Max Mara. At one point, Mary changed shoes to Prada flats. She also added a little warmth by wearing a brand new Harris Wharf London trenchcoat.

Reception on board Dannebrog

Before leaving Assens, the King and Queen hosted another reception on Board Dannebrog. When the couple were about to go off to the next destination in Vejle, they were honored the most beautiful way with a small concert right there at the harbor.

We don't have much from the reception when it comes to photos. We have a few video clips showing that Mary wore a plain white Jesper Høvring blouse and a brand new green skirt with some kind of print. To me it looks like a full midi with dots.

Having seen the video over and over again, I think she was wearing around green earrings (possibly new) and a reused emerald ring surrounded by a couple of diamonds.

175 years with the Danish Constitution

05 June 2024

Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte accompanied King Frederik and Queen Mary when celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Danish Constitution on June 5th.

They attended a church service in Holmen's Church on occasion of the anniversary, followed by a gathering in Folketinget at Christiansborg Castle. One part of Christiansborg houses the Danish Government - including the famous 'Folketingssal' (the Government Hall).

Truly makes me thrilled to see that Andrew GN dress again! Do you remember Mary wore it at Princess Isabella's confirmation in 2022? A year later, Mary was wearing the very same dress at the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. What year do you favor? - 2022, 2023 or 2024.

When celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Danish Constitution, Mary styled the beautiful dress with a new buckle. Personally, I like the original better. She matched the copper-like brooch with a year old custom-made hat created by Susanne Juul. Mary first wore this hat in 2004! Not quite sure I am the biggest fan of the color-combo. What do you think?

The fine box clutch is brand new. I have not been able to identify it yet. Apparently, many designers have a similar model, which makes it a bit more difficult. Her nude leather pumps are old ones from Prada. The brown floral earrings are still a mystery to me.

Her necklaces are very likely to be from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau.

The Government's celebrations of the proclamation

15 January 2024

Usually, Queen Margrethe arrives last. That changed on January 14th with the proclamation from one generation to another.

On January 15th, the Danish Government celebrated the proclamation with a gathering in morning at Christiansborg (here).

Princess Benedikte, Prince Joachim and Crown Prince Christian also attended the event. This was King Frederik and Queen Mary's first official event after the proclamation.

The royal family attended a following reception in the Langstings Hall.

For the proclamation I wished for something blue or purple. I truly hoped for something colorful. Instead, Mary had chosen a brand new white dress designed by Søren Le Schmidt and tailored by Birgit Hallstein. On her first job as "Queen of Denmark" Mary reused a navy blue cashmere set. A jacket and a skirt, which were designed by Danish designer Ole Yde and later tailored by Birgit Hallstein. She first wore the set in 2022 (here).

This time, she embraced the color of the set with same-color gloves, a custom-made Susanne Juul felt hat and leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi. At first, I was also misled by the designer of her clutch. It is in fact an old one from 1602 - NOT Carlend Copenhagen as other claimed.

As jewellery, Mary had chosen her beloved Connaught Sapphire brooch. It was given to her by Queen Margrethe, when she gave birth to Crown Prince Christian in 2005. It belonged to Queen Ingrid. The flower-shaped diamond earrings from purchased at an Bruun Rasmussen auction. Her necklaces are from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau.

What do we think of her first official outfit with her new title?

Opening of the Parliament 2023

03 October 2023

Every year on the first Tuesday in October, members of the Danish Parliament are gathered at Christiansborg to attend the opening of a new parliamentary year.

At this years opening, Queen Margrethe was accompanied by Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and her beloved sister Princess Benedikte. Together, all attended the opening in the grand Parliamentary Hall at Christiansborg in Copenhagen (here).

I am crazy in love with these annual events. Love to compare outfits year after year. I am stunned about her outfit this year. She is so classy and elegant in that bespoke Mark Kenly Domino Tan dress. Mary first wore it in 2018 on an official business promotion visit in Italy (here). Later worn in Paris in 2019 (here) and then again in 2021 (here).

At the opening, Mary had chosen to wear the magical dress with black accessories - belt, hat, gloves, clutch and shoes. Her hat is a Susanne Juul creation. Look at that design! Sight. The details are exquisite. Mary matched the hat with a leather fold-over clutch from Diane von Furstenberg and smashing Gianvito Rossi pointed pumps.

Everything is classic about this outfit, which is why I also why I adore her wearing white pearl earrings. These are from Annikat. A wonderful combo with her beloved Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau necklaces and Dulong Fine Jewelry pearl bracelet. Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen is the master behind one of her diamond rings.

Flag Day 2023

05 September 2023

Every day, thousands of Danish soldiers are send abroad on missions to fight for a better and more secure world. To help those in need who live in daily fear. Many of them because of war.

September 5th has become a day of celebrating these soldiers. To recognized their efforts, honor them and their families. Not least, to honor those we lost in a fight.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended a parade at Kastellet in honor of the Danish soldiers. They also brought with them a very special wreath in memory of fallen soldiers.

Later on, they attended a church service in Holmens Church and a memorial ceremony at Christiansborg.

Mary had chosen a stunning outfit when celebrating Flag Day 2023. She wore an old black Hugo Boss blouse and a reused floral printed Andiata skirt styled with a Celine belt. I adore the silhouette of this look. So elegant. Casual, yet delicate.

She embraced her outfit of honor with a wide-brimmed Susanne Juul hat and matching dusty pink flower. The hat is also a reuse. The beautiful white pearl earrings I once identified as Christian Dior. Looked magnificent with her customized Dulong Fine Jewelry bracelet. Just look at those large white pearls! Actually, Mary was wearing two Dulong Fine Jewelry bracelets and a single diamond ring from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

As other accessoires, she wore dazzling Gianvito Rossi patent leather pumps and a beloved satin box clutch from Bottega Veneta. Think it is one of her most beloved clutches.

Queen Margrethe's 50th anniversary: church service, lunch and gala dinner

11 September 2022

Many events have been cancelled and given a new date due to the worldwide pandemic. Some of these events were related to the celebration of Queen Margrethe's 50th anniversary as Queen. Finally, we are able to celebrate the Queen. Still, many events are still cancelled and delayed. But something are better than nothing.

On September 11, family and friends were gathered to celebrate the 50th anniversary. First with a special church service in Vor Frue Church in Copenhagen. The same church were the Crown Prince Couple got married back in 2004.

Later on, the family and special invited guest were having lunch at Dannebrog. The royal yacht. Also regal couple from other nordic countries attended the lunch. Both the Swedish King Carl Gustav and his wife Queen Silvia, and the Norwegian King Harald and Sonja attended the lunch on board Danneborg.

Mary truly looked stunning during the day celebrating her mother-in-law. She had chosen to wear a magnificent new Erdem skirt with her simple white Ralph Lauren jacket. I learned about the skirt from UFO No More. I am truly amazed by this purple embroidered skirt. Just look at that beautiful embroidery. The think light grey belt was a clever details.

To match the rest of her outfit (and youngest daughter, Princess Josephine), Mary was wearing her beloved Aquamarine brooch. A gift given to her by Queen Margrethe, when Prince Christian was born. Mary has worn this brooch on many different occasion. Maybe a small gesture on this very special day? The shiny diamond earrings are a purchased from a Bruun Rasmussen auction a few years back.

Mary's wonderful headpiece is a creation by milliner Susanne Juul. Sadly, she is no longer making hats. The grey suede pumps troubles me. They look very similar to other of her shoes, but something is still not quite the same. They stay unidentify for a while. At least I am not convinced yet about the designer.

For sure you noticed Mary's brand new Christin Dior handbag, right? Not sure, I would ever had my eyes on it, but she wears is with such grace.

What a magnificent way to end a wonderful day. People fro near and far, were invited to attend a prestiges gala dinner at Christiansborg Castle in Copenhagen - with Queen Margrethe as hostess.

Queen Margrethe, the Crown Prince Couple, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie welcomed all the guest with a handshake and lots of smiles, when they arrived. And it was truly an amazing evening for all the guests. Outstanding dinner, speeches in honor of the Queen, beautiful decorations and entertainment. Especially, Crown Prince Frederik's speech to his mother captured most of the world (here). His admiration for his mother was clear.

"... you can be sure that I, as your second-in-command, am right behind you. Loyal and full of respect for the journey you have taken and continue to take us all on." - Crown Prince Frederik

I think, I lost my breath. Simple as that. Mary looked absolutely breathtaking at the gala dinner at Christiansborg. Look at that evening gown. Jesper Høvring created this stunning dress. I love how the black lace cover a soft golden dress underneath. It looks almost delicate. So exquisite and elegant. This is by no doubt one of my favorite gowns of hers. It takes quite a lot to make my top three.

Somehow, the red ruby parure makes the most perfect match to her outfit. The black lace and the rubies are a match made in heaven. She is wearing it after Queen Ingrid - Queen Margrethe's mother. Crown Prince Frederik inherited it after his grandmother and now Mary is wearing it. The ruby ring was added later. It was crafted by goldsmiths from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

I was surprised to see that she wore her hair down for an event like this. It has only happened a few times. But I love it!

We also get a glimpse of black lace pumps from Gianvito Rossi. For once, I think the shoes looks good with the rest of the outfit. I have never been a true fan of these pumps, but now I am. Sergio Rossi is the designer of Mary's black glitter box clutch.

Flag Day 2022

05 September 2022

Since the Flag Day first took place in 2009, the Crown Prince Couple have attended the ceremony for many years. It is a day of honoring everyone who is or has been sent on mission for the Armed Forces, the Police, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Health Service and the Rescue Service.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrived at Kastellet in Copenhagen early in the morning to attend a ceremony for those lost in battle. The couple placed a wreath at the Monument for Denmark's International Efforts after 1948.

After the ceremony at Kastellet, the Crown Prince Couple attended a church service in Holmens Church for Denmark's fallen soldiers. Let's have one minute of silence to honor those, who fight for a better world. For those who fight to keep us safe.

Mary is truly a master of picking the perfekt outfit for any given occasion she is attending. Just look at, when the couple attended the Flag Day 2022. She looked splendid in her reused dark green Beulah London dress. Isn't that color really lovely on her? I adore it next to her brown hair. Mary first wore this dress at the inauguration of Campus Horsens in September 2021 (here).

She embraced the style by wearing a stunning bespoke Susanne Juul hat. It has been part of her wardrobe for quite a few years. Over the years, she has worn it with several different decorations - flowers and so. The Gianvito Rossi pointed pumps are a perfect match to the color of her hat and unidentified clutch. I believe the green gloves are new.

The little peacock brooch is a reuse as well. Actually, it goes back to 2006 (here), but we have not seen it since 2009 (here). I have never been able to identify it. The delicate black pearl earrings, matching bracelet and ring are all created by talented Dulong Fine Jewelry.

The foundation of the "Mary Elizabeth's Hospital"

May 30

On occasion of the Crown Princesses 50th birthday, Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen named their new children's hospital after her. On May 30th, she laid the very first stone of the foundation of the "Mary Elizabeth's Hospital - Riget for children, young people and pregnant women". What a gift.

The hospital is planned to open in 2025. It will be room around 900 patients. The hospitals core task is to help children, young people and pregnant women. An area of work, which has become Crown Princess Mary's main focus the last 10 or so years.

Under the foundation stone is a time capsule containing objects related to expectations and hopes for the new hospital. Crown Princess Mary held a speech at the event, which was later also placed in the time capsule.

Well, the weather in Denmark is not splendid at the moment. We differently need more sunny and warm days. Wearing lighter colours are more pleasant in good weather. Mary makes me want it even more with this gorgeous outfit. Look at those wonderful colours! That powder pink and white goes really well togther. A bit romantic and girly, but nothing over-the-top in my opinion. What do you think?

The stunning white coat is from KITX by Kit Willow. She has worn it before. One time in 2016, when the couple visited Boston (here). Looks like Mary wore one of her beloved creamy lace dresses underneath. She embraced the style with soft pink nappa leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi and an old (!) Susanne Juul hat. This pieces goes back to the time, when she was pregnant with Prince Christian (here).

Mary also styled her outfit with some incredible pieces of jewellery. Bracelets from both Cartier, Dulong Fine Jewelry and Rebekka Notkin. A ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a beautiful golden necklace from the same designer. The outstanding white pearl earrings are from Charlotte Lynggaard's latest collection BoHo. She is the head designer at Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Mary added diamond pendants to the earrings. Lovely, right? So classy and elegant.

The official Flag Day 2021

05 September

It was all about honoring those lost in battle. Those who fight for a better world and for those families who stand by and give their support on a daily basis. Since 2009, September 5th has been Denmark's official Flag Day. That day we every year honor those in battle and those who have been on a mission for Denmark.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary have attended Flag Day for several years. On Sunday, they attended a few activities on the occasion of Flag Day. First, they visited Kastellet in Copenhagen to pay their respect with a wreath.

A number of the Danish Government also attended the ceremony at Kastellet and the following church service in Holmens church. The service was part of the honoring the Danish soldiers we lost in battle. It was indeed emotional for the both of them and everybody else attending the service.

Mary was beautifully dressed at the ceremony at Kastellet and the following church service in Holmens church - which, by the way, is the same church as hosted the christening of Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. She has chosen to wear one of her old printed dresses from Max Mara. Actually, the dress is a wedding dress. Nevertheless, it is simply stunning and very appropriate for the occasion. It looked really beautiful with that black Prada coat. Also a reuse.

She embraced the style with a fine black straw hat created by Susanne Juul. It featured an added "flower". To match the rest of her outfit, she wore white pearl earrings from Dior. Mary has worn these earrings on so many different occasions and once again, she shows how to wear something most people think are old-fashioned. I love it.

A chunky heel can be a bit clumsy if it is not styled the right way. Yes, they are indeed more comfortable to wear, but not always as elegant as a thin heel. That is my personal opinion. Because of the long black coat, her chunky Jimmy Choo pumps looked super classy. The clutch is Carlend Copenhagen.
