Premiere of "Jeppe på Bjerget"

23 January 2025

On Thursday King Frederik and Queen Mary attended the grand premiere of the play "Jeppe på Bjerget" - a comedy by famous Danish writer Ludvig Holdberg. They watched the play from the royal balcony at The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen.

"Jeppe på Bjerget" was written in 1722. It portraits the story of a farmer (Jeppe) struggling in life after years on the battlefield. He cope with the aftermath by drinking. On day the Baron and his people find Jeppe in a pit. They are mocking him and yet they play a prank on him. They make him believe that he is the Baron. Powers takes over and he end up treating others like he was treated. Once again he is found in the pit and is then sentenced to death as another and final practical joke. One last humiliation.

Mary's velvet suit reminded me of her sister-in-laws outfit when attending a return event in December last year. Princess Marie, Mary and even Princess Benedikte have loved wearing velvet lately. I am pretty sure Mary wore a brand new black velvet suit. I have not been able to identify it yet. Any ideas? Photos makes it hard to look for specific details. She beautifully matched the suit with a reused white Jesper Høvring blouse.

Love that she accessorized the outfit with golden jewellery. She first wore the stunning diamond earrings from Rosing at the gala premiere at "Ehrengard" in September 2023. Really like the design: cool and edgy yet elegant and soft. Seems like everybody have completely forgotten about the necklace. In fact Mary has worn it before at the opening of the "Global Fashion Summit" on May 2024. It was identify as a vintage Dior necklace.

Did you know that Mary first wore the chic Louis Vuitton clutch in 2009? Back then she matched her new clutch with a Temperly London dress at the "Sports Gala" in Herning. A great match with the suede studded Gianvito Rossi pumps!

Day 2. Business promotion in India

27 February 2023

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrived in India the previous day on February 26h. The royal couple are in India to participate a business promotion visit along with 36 Danish companies. The visit forces on the green transition with special attention to water and energy. A number of Danish politicians will also participate the delegation.

On the second, the Crown Prince Couple accompanied each other all day. First, they visited India's Minister of Foreign Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar at ITC Maurya in New Delhi.

Later on, the couple visited Mahatma Gandhi's monument. They paid their respect with a beautiful wreath on occasion of his death 75 years ago. Then they enjoyed lunch hosted by Vice Prescient Jagdeep Dhankhar. It was part of the official welcoming ceremony. Before the Grand Dinner, the royal couple attended the opening of a silver exhibition at New Delhi's National Museum.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary visiting Mahatma Gandhi's monument

I truly had no idea what to "expect" from her, when it comes to outfits. Think I had something like this in mind. Summery, light and in powdered colors. Mary in that Olga Vilshenko dress is a dream come true. She looks absolute stunning. It is simple in color and silhouette, but yet elegant because of that delicate floral print.

Mary embraced it beautifully with custom-made earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Look how well their blue color match her dresses flowers! The earrings have replaceable pendants - some of them are here and here. We get a small glimpse of her magical necklaces from Halberstadt and the personalized Julie Sandlau creation. She also styled the outfit with a couple of diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

I am not sure I would have chosen the same Dior clutch to this look, but it could have been worse. I like the material with the flowly dress. She had chosen a pair of reused suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

The Crown Prince Couple attending Grand Dinner

In the evening, the couple attended Grand Dinner along with the rest of the Danish business delegation. Mary looked breathtaking! I feel the same goes for everyone else: Mary was indeed Queen of the Night. Right? The impressive asymmetric gown is a creation by Danish designer Søren Le Schmidt. Every single time she has worn it, Mary has impressed the world with her beauty.

The earrings are classy and traditional Portuguese design. Mary has worn hers before. Among others at Red Cross' 150th anniversary in 2014 (here). Think it was the first time she wore them. Incredible choice. Looked great with the golden Halberstadt necklace and Julie Sandlau creation.

Mary was also wearing quite a few bracelets. I am able to identify one of them as Rebekka Notkin. The blush pink knotted clutch is Bottega Veneta's iconic design.

... and - I am a HUGE fan of her "hairpiece". What a lovely accessory.

The official Flag Day 2021

05 September

It was all about honoring those lost in battle. Those who fight for a better world and for those families who stand by and give their support on a daily basis. Since 2009, September 5th has been Denmark's official Flag Day. That day we every year honor those in battle and those who have been on a mission for Denmark.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary have attended Flag Day for several years. On Sunday, they attended a few activities on the occasion of Flag Day. First, they visited Kastellet in Copenhagen to pay their respect with a wreath.

A number of the Danish Government also attended the ceremony at Kastellet and the following church service in Holmens church. The service was part of the honoring the Danish soldiers we lost in battle. It was indeed emotional for the both of them and everybody else attending the service.

Mary was beautifully dressed at the ceremony at Kastellet and the following church service in Holmens church - which, by the way, is the same church as hosted the christening of Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. She has chosen to wear one of her old printed dresses from Max Mara. Actually, the dress is a wedding dress. Nevertheless, it is simply stunning and very appropriate for the occasion. It looked really beautiful with that black Prada coat. Also a reuse.

She embraced the style with a fine black straw hat created by Susanne Juul. It featured an added "flower". To match the rest of her outfit, she wore white pearl earrings from Dior. Mary has worn these earrings on so many different occasions and once again, she shows how to wear something most people think are old-fashioned. I love it.

A chunky heel can be a bit clumsy if it is not styled the right way. Yes, they are indeed more comfortable to wear, but not always as elegant as a thin heel. That is my personal opinion. Because of the long black coat, her chunky Jimmy Choo pumps looked super classy. The clutch is Carlend Copenhagen.
