Day 3. Summer tour with Dannebrog

Læsø

August 27, 2025

King Frederik and Queen Mary have now arrived in Østerby Havn on Læsø. The couple were welcomed with a fine speech given by Mayor Tobias Birch Johansen. Present were representative from the municipal council of Læsø Municipality.

Part of their visit on Læsø was to visit Læsø Saltworks and Læsø Museum. Here they were given a guided tour by museum director Simon Kyhn-Madsen. First they enjoyed a 'nature safari' and lunch at Rønnerne.

I love that she has embraced the colours of September. The colors of Autumn. My favourite time a year. Like how she balanced the warm orange with brown, beige and white. Makes a great match. The stunning linen blazer is from Boglioli. Mary first wore it in December 2022. She also wore a beloved Athé Vanessa Bruno blouse and a chic By Malene Birger midi skirt. Later Mary added a brown knitted jumper (or best) to keep warm and her Scandinavian Edition coat.

She embraced the style with a reused Canopy Bay by Deborah Hutton hat and fine Prada ballet flats. When participating in the nature safari at Rønnerne she changed to a pair of NIKE sneakers. The sunglasses are Ray Ban. I learned the her new crossbody bag is from a brand called Guanabana.

Mary wore jewellery from a number of Danish designers - Dulong Fine Jewelry, Rebekka Notkin and Louise Grønlykke. Her old golden watch is from Cartier.

Afternoon tea

After a long day on Læsø the couple returned to Dannebrog getting ready to host an afternoon tea reception for invited guests from Læsø municipality.

The guests were served sandwiches, strawberry cake, scones, the and tea. The royal couple then have the opportunity to say thank you for their day on Læsø.

Hosting the afternoon reception on Dannebrog Mary wore a reused printed Vilshenko dress. Somehow I always loved this dusty pink floral print with a black background. That is usually not the case for me. We do not that that many photos of her from the event but I guess she would be wearing black suede pumps or soft rose pumps.

As jewellery Mary had chosen diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe, her elegant Louise Grønlykke necklace and bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry and Rebekka Notkin. Hair and makeup were also spot on!

Day 1. Summer tour with Dannebrog

Frederikshavn

August 25, 2025

Arrival in Sæby

King Frederik and Queen Mary are once again on a summer tour around Denmark traveling with Dannebrog. Last year the couple visited Bornholm, Ærø, Assens and Vejle. This year they will be visiting Frederikhavn, Thisted, Læsø and Samsø. The tour will last from August 25th to 28th.

On Tuesday the King and Queen arrived in Sæby and was warmly welcomed by Mayor of Frederikshavn Karsten Thomsen. They were officially welcomed with a service in Sæby church. Then followed a visit at Sæby Glassblowing and a walk in the city of Sæby.

Around noon they enjoyed lunch at Skovhuset in Bangsboskoven. Skovhuset worked as home of the the forester's for about 250 years. Today it is a gathering place for teaching, meeting rooms and nature events.

I love the idea of a ruffle blouse, a plain midi skirt and a short jacket. Somehow I am not quite sure I think it worked out as intended. Personally I would have chosen another jacket with the skirt or another skirt for the jacket. What do you think?

Nevertheless, I am thrilled to see her wear the blue Prada jacket again. We haven't seen it since 2013 when Mary attended the CHIO Equestrian  Festival in Düsseldorf. Imagine if she had worn it is a matching set when arriving in Sæby! She embraced it with a reused Athé Vanessa Bruno blouse and a unidentified dark blue midi skirt.

Mary styled the outfit with a beautiful hairband purchased from Miss Haidee Millinery and a lovely raffia clutch. The brown Gianvito Rossi heeled sandals were a great choice to enhance the beauty of the other brown accessories. When having lunch at Skovhuset Mary switched to a pair of Prada flats. The sunglasses are from Ray Ban.

She wore white pearl earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry, a necklace by Louise Grønlykke and bracelets from both Dulong Fine Jewelry and Rebekka Notkin. I am still very interested in learning about her three-part diamond ring. The watch is Cartier.

Visiting Råbjerg Mile

In the afternoon the couple changed clothes and went for a visit at Råbjerg Mile - a very unique sandy area located between Frederikshavn and Skagen. The sand is moving around 15 meters a year. The royal couple were given a guided round by the Junior Ragere which is an initiative by Frederikshavn municipality to educate young people in the age of 11-13 as junior nature guides.

They also paid a visit at Ancher's House and visited Grenen. Grenen is Denmark's northernmost point. It is where the two ocean's Kattegat and Skagerrak meet.

What is better than a good old casual outfit? I truly love Mary's casual looks. Like the one she wore when visiting Råbjerg Mile. She paired a pair of soft linen short with a simple white button-down blouse and dark knitted jumper. Non of the items have yet been identified.

Her accessories are Ray Ban sunglasses, a golden Cartier watch and chic NIKE sneakers. Mary chose the same jewellery as earlier that day: stunning white pearl earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry, a diamond necklace from Louise Grønlykke and bracelets from Dulong Fine Jewelry and Rebekka Notkin.

Reception at Dannebrog

After a long day the King and Queen hosted a reception at Dannebrog for invited guests from among others Frederikshavn municipality. Dannebrog was docked at Gl. Pier Skagen Harbour. It was a magical evening with fireworks and warm greetings from everyone in Frederikshavn municipality.

I am not sure I have words enough to describe how much I adore Mary's new Vilshenko dress! It is the most magnificent piece of clothes I have seen in a very long time. The colors are exquisite and the print is dazzling. Love how she matched the red floral print with brand new red earrings. Any ideas where they are from? She first wore them in 2012 at a private birthday celebration at Klampenborg and then again when visiting Chile in 2013.

Her other jewellery are bracelets from Dulong Fine Jewelry and Rebekka Notkin. Simple is everything because of the printed dress. Perfect as she is Mary matched the dress with red suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

Day 3. Official visit to Brazil

04 October 2024

Meeting with Brazil's President

In the morning, Queen Mary attended a meeting with Brazil's President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Presidential palace Palácio do Planalto. Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Supplies Lars Aagaard accompanied her at the meeting.

Queen Mary and Minister Lars Aagaard will spend the next two days in Brasília.

Do you feel like we have seen this outfit before? You are right. Mary wore a similar outfit in 2016 when on a business promotion visit in the United States and in 2023 visiting India. The dress is truly beautiful. The simple silhouette and the elegant floral print. What is not to like? Love to see this dress again.

She even styled the Vilshenko beauty with the same custom-made Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings as in 2016 and 2023. These earrings comes with a number of different pendants. Rose Quartz, Amethyst, diamonds. We also get a glimpse of a magnificent Dulong Fine Jewelry ring and sweet Halberstadt necklace.

A closer look revealed that she also styled her look with a Max Mara leather handbag and matching dusty rose Gianvito Rossi sling-backs.

A school visit and a visit to Embrapa Cerrados

After her meeting the President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Queen Mary paid a visit to a public school in Brasília. She was, once again, accompanied by Lars Aagaard - Danish Minster of Climate, Energy and Supply. They were given knowledge about the schools school food program.

The traveling partners then visited Embrapa Cerrados which is an agricultural research institute in the Cerrado of the savanna area. The Embrapa Cerrados work with  challenges and opportunities in relation to agriculture's impact on biodiversity and the environment in Brazil.

What a lovely outfit! I am pleased to see her wear that Stella Jean dress again. Always adored its silhouette and dusty blue colour. She made a wonderful choice with the braided Zimmermann belt. First worn at the Olympic Games in August. Works beautifully with a dress as well. Do you favor it worn with trousers or dress?

The brown Michel Vivien sandals were also a magnificent addition to her outfit! Later on, she changed to white Adidas sneakers. Like how it turned out both casual yet super chic. Perfect for a visit in Brazil in October. As jewellery, Mary was wearing golden Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and a custom-made ring. The fine Halberstadt necklace and Rebekka Notkin bracelet were the cherry on the ice cream.

We haven't seen her wear the Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses for quite a while - I'm thrilled. Thrilled to see other sunglasses then her blue Gucci shapes. Her hat is from Canopy Bay by Deborah Hutton.

Work dinner with UNFPA

In the evening, Queen Mary was invited as guest of honor and as patron of UNFPA to attend a work dinner with UNFPA - the United Nations Population Fund. The dinner took place at the Danish embassy in Brazília. Minister of Climate, Energy and Supply Lars Aagaard also attended the dinner.

Mary. You look like a shining star. A true Queen in that Diane von Furstenberg halterneck and skirt. The colours are smashing to her fair skin and chestnut hair. It is indeed a blouse and skirt even though it looks like a dress. Even more because of the red crystal belt from Dolce & Gabbana. She has both worn clothes and belt before.

She embraced the outfit with exclusive Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings, bracelet and ring. All three pieces are custom-made by the talented Danish jewellery designer. We also get a glimpse of a beloved Rebekka Notkin bangle featuring beautiful diamonds.

The brand new Reiss clutch made the look way more dinner-worthy. Such as the stunning golden Aquazzura heeled sandals also worn a couple of days earlier.

Day 2. Business promotion in India

27 February 2023

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrived in India the previous day on February 26h. The royal couple are in India to participate a business promotion visit along with 36 Danish companies. The visit forces on the green transition with special attention to water and energy. A number of Danish politicians will also participate the delegation.

On the second, the Crown Prince Couple accompanied each other all day. First, they visited India's Minister of Foreign Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar at ITC Maurya in New Delhi.

Later on, the couple visited Mahatma Gandhi's monument. They paid their respect with a beautiful wreath on occasion of his death 75 years ago. Then they enjoyed lunch hosted by Vice Prescient Jagdeep Dhankhar. It was part of the official welcoming ceremony. Before the Grand Dinner, the royal couple attended the opening of a silver exhibition at New Delhi's National Museum.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary visiting Mahatma Gandhi's monument

I truly had no idea what to "expect" from her, when it comes to outfits. Think I had something like this in mind. Summery, light and in powdered colors. Mary in that Olga Vilshenko dress is a dream come true. She looks absolute stunning. It is simple in color and silhouette, but yet elegant because of that delicate floral print.

Mary embraced it beautifully with custom-made earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Look how well their blue color match her dresses flowers! The earrings have replaceable pendants - some of them are here and here. We get a small glimpse of her magical necklaces from Halberstadt and the personalized Julie Sandlau creation. She also styled the outfit with a couple of diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

I am not sure I would have chosen the same Dior clutch to this look, but it could have been worse. I like the material with the flowly dress. She had chosen a pair of reused suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

The Crown Prince Couple attending Grand Dinner

In the evening, the couple attended Grand Dinner along with the rest of the Danish business delegation. Mary looked breathtaking! I feel the same goes for everyone else: Mary was indeed Queen of the Night. Right? The impressive asymmetric gown is a creation by Danish designer Søren Le Schmidt. Every single time she has worn it, Mary has impressed the world with her beauty.

The earrings are classy and traditional Portuguese design. Mary has worn hers before. Among others at Red Cross' 150th anniversary in 2014 (here). Think it was the first time she wore them. Incredible choice. Looked great with the golden Halberstadt necklace and Julie Sandlau creation.

Mary was also wearing quite a few bracelets. I am able to identify one of them as Rebekka Notkin. The blush pink knotted clutch is Bottega Veneta's iconic design.

... and - I am a HUGE fan of her "hairpiece". What a lovely accessory.

The Education Prize 2020

30th September

There is a first day for everything. Yesterday, Crown Princess Mary attended as guest of honor in the presentation of the very first Education Prize 2020. The prize is an initiative from the Danish Ministry of Education and Research. It is given to seven teachers in higher education, who have shown both commitment and an inspiring way of teaching.

Crown Princess Mary was one big smile when she arrived and during the whole visit. I guess it made her proud to be the one to honor these great teacher for their true and honest commitment being a teacher. It is exactly what this new prize is all about. Us honoring those edcators who inspire and are creative in their way of given away knowledge.

With the honor, comes money for personal use and to spend on activities that will create a more vibrant and encouraging environment of education. The Crown Princess handed over all seven prizes herself with a little help from Minister of Education and Research, Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen.

The seven winners are:

Claus Brabrand (Associate Professor of Computer Science at the IT University of Copenhagen) Knud Erik Christensen (from UCL's teacher training), Per Hessellund (from Engineer School in Aarhus), Luise Theil Kuhn (Associate Professor at DTU Energy), Thomas William Lee (Assistant Professor at the Aarhus School of Architecture), Vibeke Røn Noer (Associate Professor and Research Leader in the Nursing Program at VIA University College) and Per Reeslev (from the financial economics education at CPHbusiness). Congratulations to all of them.

A reception followed the award ceremony in which Crown Princess Mary also attended.

What I love about Mary, is how she always manages to make an old piece of clothes look new - every single time. That is exactly what happened again yesterday. Mary showed in one of her old goodies from Vilshenko. A dreamy white dress with a magnificent floral print. Even though we have already seen her wear this dress for four other occasions, I still get the feeling that we saw it for the very first time yesterday.

This time she embraced the style by wearing stunning diamond earrings featuring blue drop pendants. They are from Dulong Fine Jewelry. The same designer also created two of her golden bracelets worn at the event. Especially these bracelets (combined with her Cartier bangle) seems to be some of her absolute favorites at the moment. Do you have any favorite jewellery that you wear every day? I do. I have a simple silver bracelet and a couple of rings that I wear almost everyday. One of diamond rings are from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and the other one is a rather new addition from Dulong Fine Jewelry. A custom-made piece.

As other accessories, she had chosen a blue Quidam clutch and matching Gianvito Rossi pumps in the exact same dark blue color. I love when she match two different accessories, from different designers, this well. She topped off her outfit with the most amazing curly hair. A soft and feminine look.

Day 2. Enthronement ceremony in Japan

23 October

TEA PARTY

On Tuesday October 22nd, Japan officially was given a new Imperial Couple. Emperor Naruhito and his wife, Empress Masako were officially enthroned at a ceremony in the Imperial Palace that same day. Royals from all over the world, both Sweden, Norway, Spain, Belgium, etc. and also Denmark attended the traditional ceremony.

The following day, the Emperor and Empress had invited all their guest to join them at a tea party at the Akasaka Imperial Palace. Not many pictures have been published from the gathering, but what we have show that the Imperial Couple welcomed all their guest with a warm and friendly smile such as a handshake and a couple of words. Especially the Danish Crown Prince Couple made them smile a little extra. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were also one big smile and happy eyes when meeting the Imperial Couple once again.

The guest list included among others, King Carls Gustaf of Sweden, Prince Albert of Monaco, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, etc.

THE BANQUET

As a last event in Japan the Crown Prince and Crown Princess attended a banquet hosed by Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe and his wife, Akie Abe. The banquet took place at Hotel Otani in the capital city of Japan, Tokyo. Heads of States and royal members from all around the world (who had also been attending prior ceremonial events on occasion of the enthronement) were invited to the banquet. Of course Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were also invited.

Both of them were in a splendid mood at the arrival. They arrived hand and hand with a large smile on their faces. To me it seems like the couple have really enjoyed the days in Japan. I am sure they also enjoyed their last evening in Tokyo along with all their fellow friends.

The following day the couple were headed home from some sensational days in Japan.

Embed from Getty Images

We only got a short glimpse of Mary, when she arrived along with her husband to the tea party. What this glimpse shows, is that she was dressed in one of her reused floral dressed from Vilshenko. She first wore this beautiful and balanced dress on a business promotion visit in the United States in 2016, here. The following year Mary wore the dress again when officially visiting Japan, here. Last but not least, Mary dazzled wearing the Vilshenko creation on occasion of her husbands 50th birthday in 2018, here. Already a dress with lots of memories. Now it has met the new Imperial Couple that now rules Japan.

As accessory she had chosen her golden Cartier bangle that might be a present from her beloved husband. We love the thought, right? I am certain most of us also adore the well-made Quidam clutch. I suggested that she might had been wearing either white or blue pumps, but I had not photos to prove it. Now I do, here. Mary was in fact wearing white pumps. The quality isn't that good so it is hard to tell what pair she wore. Personally I think they could be either from Gianvito Rossi or Pura Lopez. By looking at this new photo of her from the tea party, I believe Mary also accessorized her outfit with some kind of earrings. Hair and makeup were all casual yet classy.

The previous day, Mary showed us two brand new (outstanding) evening gowns. One from Valentino and another creation by Birgit Hallstein and Jesper Høvring. On Wednesday she had first chosen a reused Vilshenko dress and later in the evening, Mary wore another reused wedding dress actually. The dreamy white design featuring golden dotted details, is created by Maria Fekih - a wedding dress designer. She first wore the dress at the presentation of the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes in 2018, here. And you love the dress as much as I did. I still do.

This time Mary embraced the style by wearing reused golden shell earrings from Rebekka Notkin, which was first worn on a business and cultural promotion visit in Texas earlier this year, here. Beautiful, right? Once again the Cartier bangle dazzled on her wrist along with a couple of other unidentified bracelets. She mathed the golden details with the perfect golden glitter pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Think the clutch is also a reused that I have not been able to find yet.

What wonderful outfits we have seen while the couple were in Tokyo. Both evening gowns, lots of sequins, good old dresses and many smily moments to remember.

Day 1. Youth Innovation Summit in Morocco

03 October

On October 3rd the Crown Princess arrived to Morocco after having visited Frydenhøj School in Hvidovre in the morning, here. From one end to another end of the world. She is in Morocco to participate the Youth Innovation Summit 2019. The summit places place in Rabat - the capital city of Morocco.

The Youth Innovation Summit gathers around a hundred young people. All the talented young people where getting together to try and solve some of Morocco's biggest social and economic challenges with innovative and creative solutions - with the support from a committed Danish Crown Princess.

Shortly after the arrived she already had her first appearance. Usually she does not attend any events till the following day, but the visit only lasted October 3rd and 4th. The Crown Princess was warmly welcomed by, among others, Rachid Talbi Alami (Morocco's Minister of Sports and Youth) and some of the participants.

Crown Princess Mary spend lot of time listening and questioning the young talents participating the summit. With great eagerness they told her about their ideas and what challenges they had to face. She was constantly surrounded by curious young people who wanted to talk to her and get a glimpse of her - we get it, right? Afterwards she attended a dinner on the occasion of the summit.

Arriving to Rabat, Mary was beautifully dressed in a perfect traveling outfit. Unfortunately one picture has been published from her arrival - at least what I know of. She was wearing a brand new Notes Du Nord tweed blazer featuring golden buttons. I already love this new piece so much. I sincerely hope we get to see her wear it soon again at a more public appearance. I learned about the blazer from Heaven. She styled the blazer with what looks like a matching blouse, black fitted trousers, nude loafers and her Prada handbag. What a look.

Attending the seminar in the evening and later on dinner, Mary was dressed in one of her old floral creations from Vilshenko. It was first seen on her at a private christening last year. And it just looks good on her. End of story. She is all comfortable in that dress.

Mary embraced the evening style by wearing several bracelets from both Cartier and Danish Dulong Fine Jewelry. There is also a diamond ring from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, gorgeous pendant earrings and yet another diamond rind from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Perfect of her to wear bright pink pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Two wonderful outfits, right?

Day 2. Work visit in Ethiopia

27 March

During the day

Crown Princess Mary is visiting Ethiopia from March 26-27th. On her work visit she is accompanied by Danish Minister of Development Cooporation, Ulla Tørnæs.

The previous day the two of them visited Addis Ababa. On Wednesday the Crown Princess and Minister of Development Cooporation arrived to Shire, in Tigray - one of the cities in Ethiopia where most people of refugee populations are located. In Shire Crown Princess Mary payed a visit to, among others, a school in the refugee camp. The school became a reality because of a collaboration between Dansk Flygtninge, Norsk Flygtningehjælp, ARRA and UNHCR.

As part of her visiting the school in Shire, she planted a tree. Six students and the Minister of Development Cooporation helped out with the tree.

Crown Princess Mary also visited a home for unaccompanied minors, who have often fled on their own to be reunited with family members who, in some cases, have fled several years in advance.

During the day in Shire, Tigray, Mary embraced a practical outfit. A pair of convertible trousers and a simple blue button-down shirt. Comfortable sneakers, shapes and a mesh bun complimented a busy day in the Ethiopian sun.

Evening dinner

In the evening, Crown Princess Mary attended, as guest of honor, at dinner at Ethiopia's President Sahle-Work Zewde. She became Ethiopia's first female president last year. The Ethiopian government has ambitions to create equal opportunities socially and economically, and more and more women in Ethiopia are marking this as entrepreneurs and business leaders.

Crown Princess Mary enjoyed the evening along with, among others, Sahle-Work Zewde (Ethiopia's President) and Ulla Tørnæs (Danish Minister of Development Cooporation).

At her last event in Ethiopia, Mary shined in a printed dress and matching accessories. All four women attending had dressed in printed and colorful outfits. A great way to finish off an unofficial work visit.
