Queen Margrethe's 86th Birthday

April 16, 2026

Queen Margrethe celebrated her 86th birthday at Fredensborg Castle. King Frederik and Queen Mary accompanied the Queen on her birthday. Her sister Queen Anne-Marie was also present to make it a memorable day. The Queen was also celebrated by Danes who had showed up at Fredenborg to congratulate her and with a beautiful concert watched from the main staircase.

While Queen Margrethe looked like a bright colorful star in a red skirt, burgundy blazer and white blouse, her daughter-in-law was modest dressed in a plain navy blue suit. The blazer is a reuse from Harris Wharf London. She paired it with Max Mara trousers and Jimmy Choo pumps. I'm only able to recognize her earrings a Sophie Bille Brahe and one ring as Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. I'm very interested in her new golden brooch. Could it be a gift from her mother-in-law?

Easter High Mass in Frederik's Church

April 05, 2026

King Frederik and Queen Mary attended the traditionel Easter High Mass in Frederik's Church in Copenhagen. The spectacular church is also known as the Marble Church. It is located close to Amalienborg; close to where the family live. This is also why they chose to walk the distance when attending the church service.

I love how Princess Isabella match her mother's style when they are in public. It's clear that she is inspired by her mother's classy outfits. For the Easter High Mass, Mary had chosen a fine CO blouse and what looks like a midi black (or navy blue) wool-blend skirt. Think we have seen it before. Mary matched her daughter in her JOSEPH coat and heeled Gianvito Rossi booth. They even wore golden rings on the same hand and fingers. Love it!

Mary accessorized her look with Gucci glasses, a green leather bag from Nina Ricci and a very special necklace. Do you recognize it? Or maybe you know the story? Well: the necklace is crafted by Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen as a gift from Frederik to his wife on occasion of the twins birth in 2011. The pendant features two small "drops" in each their color. Blue for Prince Vincent and pink for Princess Josephine. She has only worn it once in 2011 at a reception in honor of the twins.

"Welcome to Flik and Flak"

March 30, 2026

At the time of King Christian X, the royal stables housed two horses names Flik and Flak. Many years later, Crown Prince Christian was given a pony as a christening gift from the Danish Government and Parliament. It was named Flikflak.

On March 30th, Queen Mary welcomed two new horses to the royal stables. Flik and Flak are now back in the stables to serve the royal family on special occasions.

I was a wonderful sight to see the Queen with the horses. Seems like she enjoyed the peaceful moment. Welcoming Flik and Flak, Mary looked fine in a blouse from Maje and a herringbone-tweed blazer from Ralph Lauren. Her shiny jewellery are creations by both Sophie Bille Brahe and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Love the combo of diamond rings.

Presenting the Heart Association Research Award

March 26, 2026

It was a patron of the Danish Heart Association that Queen Mary attended the presentation of the Heart Association's Research Award 2026. The award is given to recognizes an individual or group for their outstanding efforts in the fight against heart disease.

This year the award was handed over by Queen Mary to clinical professor at Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital Eva Prescott for her work with the iPower. iPower focuses on an often overlooked issue in heart research - undiagnosed and untreated breast pain in women.

Mary looked absolutely stunning when she arrived at Hotel d'Angletere in Copenhagen to attend the presentation. She matched a reused burgundy blouse from Jesper Høvring with a brand new Rejina Pyo midi skirt. The color-match are incredible, don't you think? The heavy necklace and fine Aquamarine earrings were an elegant choice with the light and flowy outfit. I haven't really decided whether or not I like the python pumps with the rest of her look. The exclusive leather clutch is an Anya Hindmarch design.

Day 6. Official State Visit to Australia

March 19th, 2026

"Welcome to Hobart"

King Frederik and Queen Mary were welcomed by the Tasmanian Governor Barbara Baker when arriving to Hobart. Part of the official welcoming ceremony was the traditional smoke ceremony performed by a representative of the Aboriginal people. This is also when we got the first glimpse of today's outfit. Mary looked beautiful in a reused dress from ME+EM and a beloved linen blazer from Ralph Lauren. The brown leather belt from Max Mara was a great detail. The same goes with her choice in shoes - brown suede Gianvito Rossi pumps and beige cap-toe ballet flats from Prada.

The couple also paid a visit to the Alum Cliffs Marine Reserve and the shipyard INCAT in Hobart. They were even introduced to the award-winning cooking school and restaurant The Agrarian Kitchen. They work with, among others, locally grown products.

Later on, the royal couple visited the art museum MONA, The Museum of Old and New Art founded and owned by David Walsh. When out for a short city walk through Hunter Street, Mary showed what pieces of accessories she had chosen for her outfit. Earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry, bracelets from Rebekka Notkin, Giorgio Armani sunglasses, and her golden Cartier watch. What's not to like?

State reception

After a long and exciting day, King Frederik and Queen Mary attended a state reception hosted by Governor Barbara Baker. The reception took place at Government House. Specially selected guests representing the state visit were invited to attended the state reception along with the Governor and royal couple.

I truly like the idea of something unique in style and one fancy trying something new, but I am not quite sure I go with her choice in trousers. I'd really like to see her wear them again some day with other accessories. Mary's new trousers are from classy Carla Zampatti. She matched it with a reused CLEA blouse and stunning Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen earrings. The two-tone pumps are a design by Gianvito Rossi.

Day 5. Official State Visit to Australia

March 18th, 2026

Royal Business Walk & A business conference

King Frederik and Queen Mary attended the Royal Business Walk with companies from delegations of Green Buildings and Renewable Energy along with a number of Australian collaborators. Then followed the official opening of "Partnering for a Green, Secure, and Sustainable Tomorrow".

For their "walk", Mary looked stunning in a black and white outfit. The Carla Zampatti skirt is so simple, yet the detailing are exquisite! Can't wait to see how she is going to style it in the future. At the Royal Business Walk, she paired it with a plain white Jesper Høvring blouse. The golden Rebekka Notkin jewellery are a great choice. Gives a little sparkle to a rather sleek look. Not quite sure I would have chosen python pumps (Gianvito Rossi) with this outfit, but I like the idea of mixing-and-matching. Her exclusive leather handbag is from Anya Hindmarch.

Later on, the royal couple visited Melbourne Children's Campus. They were given an introduction to a research project made in collaboration between Denmark and Australia on stem cells. Researcher's from the project had the opportunity to meet the couple and give insight in their research.

Visit at Headspace South Melbourne

Having visited the Melbourne Children's Campus, she had a quick change of clothes. When visiting Headspace South Melbourne, Mary was then dressed in white trousers, a Harris Wharf London blouse and blue blazer. Nothing bad about blazer but I'd really like to see anything else than blazers. She had worn them A LOT lately. She accessorized the look with cool Georgio Armani sunglasses and suede Gianvito Rossi pumps.

At the grand opening of artists Rhoda Ting and Mikkel Bojesen's art exhibition, we got a clear view of her wearing earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry, her golden Cartier watch and rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. She also flashed bracelets from Dulong Fine Jewelry and Rebekka Notkin.

Return reception: "An Evening in the Garden"

In the evening, the King and Queen hosted a return reception at the Royal Botanical Garden in Melbourne. The evening was hosted under the name "An Evening in the Garden".

The coupled welcomed all the invited guests with smiles, handshakes and a few words. Afterwards, when everyone were seated each of them gave a speech.

Once again, Mary changed outfit to something a bit more evening-appropriate. Her beautiful dress is a reuse from Zimmermann. She wore it, among others, at Count Henrik's confirmation in 2023. She matched the elegant dress with dusty pink Gianvito Rossi pumps and an embellished Serpui Charlotte clutch. Her earrings are custom-made pieces from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. I suspect her new ring may be from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen as well. My guess is that it is a custom-made ring inspired by their snake collection. Let me know what you think.

Day 4. Official State Visit to Australia

March 17th, 2026

Official welcoming at Government House Victoria

Imagine how many countries those Gianvito Rossi heels have walked? To mention just a few: Belgium in 2017Indonesia in 2019Norway in 2022Fiji in 2023, and Nigeria in 2025. Today, the pumps spend a day in Melbourne.

The royal couple was welcomed by Victoria's governor Margaret and Professor Glyn Davis at Government House Victoria. They also enjoyed lunch at the government house with representatives from Danish and Australian businesses.

Apparently, red is a popular color for women to wear in Victoria. The color popped up on trousers, blouses, on the inside of coats, and of course, Mary's stunning dress. It was custom-made by tailor Birgit Hallstein. She styled it with stunning white pearl earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry and other golden goodies from Rebekka Notkin. We also had the pleasure of her brown leather handbag from Anya Hindmarch.

After lunch, the couple went for a little city walk in Prahran. The area is newly rebuilt with focus on sustainability. King Frederik and Queen Mary were presented to some of the new sustainable houses and projects to come. The Queen also shared their experiences with sustainable solutions when creating the annex at Fredensborg castle.

Visiting Port of Melbourne & Melbourne Cricket Ground

After a quick change to a more casual outfit, the royal couple visited the Port of Melbourne. They were given a guided tour around the facilities and given insight in the harbor's work with green transition and development of sustainable solutions in the maritime sector.

Later on, the King and Queen paid a visit to Melbourne Cricket Ground. They attended the Australian Football League. Queen Mary participated a few exercises herself. The event focuses on a common culture of sports between Denmark and Australia.

Maybe not the most suitable outfit for a real session of Australian football, but way more suited than her bespoke dress. When participating exercises at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Mary looked fine in (new?) wide-legged trousers, a plain white t-shirt and a Max Mara blazer. I do like a good old blazer but I miss outfits without an added blazer. Am I the only one?

Both NIKE sneakers and Gucci sunglasses were a great choice for the event. Her diamond Sophie Bille Brahe earrings and other golden jewellery from Rebekka Notkin are beautiful with the casual look.
