Easter High Mass in Frederik's Church

April 05, 2026

King Frederik and Queen Mary attended the traditionel Easter High Mass in Frederik's Church in Copenhagen. The spectacular church is also known as the Marble Church. It is located close to Amalienborg; close to where the family live. This is also why they chose to walk the distance when attending the church service.

I love how Princess Isabella match her mother's style when they are in public. It's clear that she is inspired by her mother's classy outfits. For the Easter High Mass, Mary had chosen a fine CO blouse and what looks like a midi black (or navy blue) wool-blend skirt. Think we have seen it before. Mary matched her daughter in her JOSEPH coat and heeled Gianvito Rossi booth. They even wore golden rings on the same hand and fingers. Love it!

Mary accessorized her look with Gucci glasses, a green leather bag from Nina Ricci and a very special necklace. Do you recognize it? Or maybe you know the story? Well: the necklace is crafted by Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen as a gift from Frederik to his wife on occasion of the twins birth in 2011. The pendant features two small "drops" in each their color. Blue for Prince Vincent and pink for Princess Josephine. She has only worn it once in 2011 at a reception in honor of the twins.

Research conference in Copenhagen

26 September 2024

Queen Mary attended the annual "Research Conference" hosted by Independant Research Fund Denmark, also known as DFF. The Queen has been patron of the fund since May of this year.

The Independant Research Fund Denmark is a public fund that finances research at an international level and work to strengthening ground-breaking research in Denmark.

Danish Minister of Education and Research Christina Egelund, Chairman of DFF Søren Serritzlew and head of the foundation's secretariat Jesper Risom all welcomed Queen Mary at her arrival.

Christy Anna Hipsley from University of Copenhagen received the title as winner of  "Original Idea of the Year". Queen Mary handed over the award to Christy.

Somehow, this conference has gone "under the radar" to most medias which means we don't really have that many photos from her attendance. Nevertheless, we do have something to work with.

The stunning grey checkered jumpsuit is a reuse from Max Mara. She first wore it at a business promotion visit from Sweden in 2019 and then again at the presentation of the "DI Award" in 2020. The belt is a great detail.

Big question: 2019? 2020? or 2024?

Mary elegantly styled her outfit with a simple ponytail and chic makeup. The fine diamond necklace is from Halberstadt and her diamond bands are creations by Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

About two weeks ago, she wore the very same green Nina Ricci clutch - which is actually a cross-body bag with a removable strap. Mary first wore the clutch in 2016 when visiting the United States. The lovely shark grey suede pumps are from Gianvito Rossi.

Summer tour with Dannebrog

- end of the tour

11 September 2024

Disembark Dannebrog

The King and Queen have enjoyed this summer on board Dannebrog visiting both Sweden, Norway, Greenland and a number of Danish cities - Bornholm, Ærø, Assens and Vejle.

Now the couple are back in Copenhagen and the summer at the royal yacht has ended. It has truly been an incredible summer! Don't you think? What a way to celebrate their first year as ruling couple of Denmark.

First a state visit in Sweden, then Norway followed by a trip to Greenland where the couple were accompanied by Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. They ended this years session by visiting two Danish islands and two cities.

Somehow, I can't decide my opinion about this outfit. I really like her old navy wool-blend The Fold London suit. It's classy, chic and elegant at the same time. The details are outstanding. I'm also in love with the matching new patent leather pumps. Really clever of her to wear shoes in a similar color. Make the outfit look a bit more complete. I'm still on the look for the designer of her new pumps - any ideas?

The slash of green also makes a great combo. The Nina Ricci clutch is actually a cross-body bag with a removable strap. Mary first wore the clutch/bag at a business promotion visit in the United States in 2016. Then again in 2018 at the "World No Tobacco Day" and in Texas in 2019.

I also like the idea of matching the clutch with similar colors from the fine scarf, but the way she wore it as a hair piece, bothers me. For me it's a little too casual for the suit.

Mary styled her outfit with a fine anchor brooch, her beloved Halberstadt necklace and exclusive diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. This combo of diamond rings have been a favorite of hers for many years.

Gala dinner at Amalienborg

In the evening, King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a gala dinner at Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg for the officer of Dannebrog. Queen Margrethe also attended the prestiges dinner.

In Danish, the dinner is actually called a 'Strygemiddag' (stryge dinner). 'Stryge' is when the royal flag is removed from Dannebrog to mark the end of a successful summer tour.

Lately, I think Mary has switched from really classy and elegant outfits to confusing and odd combinations of clothes and accessories. Do you agree? Her outfit at the gala dinner was truly impressive! I always loved the colors of this Erdem dress. Looks amazing next to her fair skin and brown hair.

She first wore the dress 10 years ago at an anniversary event at the Opera on May 23rd 20214. Somehow, I favor her look from 2014 - except from the hairstyle. Her updo at the gala dinner take the lead.

Mary beautifully accessorized the fuchsia dress with stunning diamond and Amethyst earrings and a matching bracelet and ring. Think the earrings are a gift from her husband. The fine satin knot clutch is an iconic design by Bottega Veneta and the smashing purple suede pumps are from Gianvito Rossi.

Day 1. Business and cultural promotion in Texas

11 March

During the day

A couple of months ago it was announced that Crown Princess Mary was going on a business and cultural promotion visit in Austin and Houston, Texas, USA. Now it was time for the american people to welcome the very own: Crown Princess of Denmark. The visit last from March 11-13th.

I guess she arrived that Sunday evening to be ready for the following days activities in Austin. Monday morning Crown Princess Mary arrived to House of Scandinavia, which is a pop-up lounge that brings together activities that are based on Nordic sustainable solutions. Here she attended an early meeting entitled 'Women in Leadership & How to Inspire the Nest Generation of Women Leaders' with propose to women leaders potential as rolemodels. The Crown Princess was accompanied by among others Danish Minister of Culture, Mette Bock, the Danish ambassador in the United States, Henrik Hahn Brahmsen and EU Commissioner, Margrethe Vestager.

Crown Princes Mary also attended the worlds most important festival South by Southwest or SXSW. This is the festival to go to for tech, film, gastronomy and art. More than 280,000 people don't lie, right? And then it all takes place in Austin. Denmark was this year also a significant representative at the festival.

What an outfit. What a start. Mary dazzled in a great combination of both new and old pieces. I am sure you noticed her new blue and green coat right away. So did I. Do you like it? Think it got some kinda exciting vibe. Heaven managed to identify Mary's brand new coat as Baum und Pferdgarten. A designer we have not seen in quite awhile. She matched the new coat with fitted black trousers and a reused black blouse. Both pieces are still not identified. Or at least not by me.

She embraced the style by wearing lots of stunning jewellery, such as other smashing accessories. Katerina Pitzner is the designer of her that infinity diamond necklace. Beautiful work. Luckily I've got a closeup showing Mary's jewellery. I am able to tell you about four or her five worn bracelets. She is an expensive lady with all that golden bracelets. One is from Cartier and the three others are created by Dulong Fine Jewelry. The fifth diamond bangle could be an Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen design, here. But Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen is for sure the one who made the two diamond rings.

Nina Ricci designed Mary's lovely green cross-shoulder bag. Mary has also worn it a a clutch on a few others occasions prior to this one. Heaven suggested to me that her new chunky heel pumps are from Jimmo Choo and I think she hit homerun. For a long time I wanted to add a similar pair of shoes to my wardrobe, but somehow Mary makes it work way better than I do. Now I them even more.

Meeting the Governor

Around noon Crown Princess Mary was officially welcomed by Texas Governor, Greg Abbott and his wife in the governor's residence. Seems like it was a true pleasure for all three of them to meet. The Crown Princess was one big smile such as Greg Abbott was. I am sure the Governor and his wife were happy to welcome the Crown Princess and tell her little about Texas.

An hour or so later she experienced the performance 'Tow with the Flow' that focuses on over-consumption and sustainability in clothing production and fashion. The performance shows 17 custom-made suits prepared by the Scandinavian design studio Sur Le Chemin.

Before attending a late reception Crown Princess Mary was present at Nordic Music Showcase. Five Nordic bands performed presented by the Danish music festival Roskilde Festival. The Crown Princess opened it all with a speech.

Meeting the Governor and his lovely wife, Mary was beautifully dressed in a brand new dress. One day has almost passed and we already got so many new (stunning) pieces. It was found at Moss and Spy by Heaven. Do you remember her wearing another Moss and Spy dress? It was on a visit to Seattle in 2018, here. Incredible work.

This time in Texas she embraced the style with wonderful nude leather pumps from Prada. We have often seen her wear these pointed pumps with colorful dresses as on February 28th, when she presented the ElieForsk Awards 2019, here. Nude accessories and bright colored clothes are a match made in heaven. That is also why I love that she wore a nude ostrich clutch from Naledi Copenhagen. As earlier the same day Mary shone with golden bracelets from both Cartier and Dulong Fine Jewelry, who also created that impressive diamond earrings. Her incredible hairstyle is also worth noticing.

Reception

The Crown Princess ended a long first day in Texas by attending a reception at House of Scandinavia.  She arrived like a princess in a Hollywood movie. Walking most elegantly down the stairs at the event in Austin. All attendances enjoyed a reception with lots of cultural performances from among others Denmark. These Danish participants are participating South by Southwest. Crown Princess Mary pared a visit to the festival earlier the same day.

A long finally came to an end and it was time for the Crown Princess to get a long night's sleep

What Mary wore at the reception at House of Scandinavia reminded me a lot of something Queen Letizia of Spain would wear. She really surprised me with what she was wearing. Keep it simple, yet super elegant and classy. Mary rocked that black and white outfit. Both the black embellished blouse and that crispy white blazer are brand new pieces in her wardrobe. So far I have not been able to find any of them yet. The blazer reminds me of something from Alexander McQueen, but that is guesswork at the moment. Her new embellished blouse got a lot in comment to an old creation from By Malene Birger worn in an interview with Australian Women's Weekly from 2004, here. Don't you think? With the embellishment and fringes?

She caught everybody's attention with a rather large ring, golden bracelets and of course that new calm shell earrings. A good friend of mine recognized them right away as Rebekka Notkin. A Danish  jewellery brand. Think she is wearing a black Carlend Copenhagen clutch and matching pumps from Pura Lopez.

'World No Tobacco Day 2018'

Thursday, May 31st

Am I the only now who have had a wonderful week celebrating the Crown Prince? I have the feeling that he has been celebrated throughout the entire world - at least people from most parts of the world have followed the celebrations. But now it is time to get back to work. That is what the Crown Princess did on Thursday. Here she attended the World No Tobacco Day 2018, which is established by The World Health Organisation (WHO) and internationally takes place on May 31st. It is on that occasion Kræftens Bekæmpelse and TrygFonden has collaborated on making Smoke Free Future, which will be held once a year from now on. The Crown Princess attended the event as patron of The World Health Organisation, Regional Office of Europe. A title she has had quite a few years now. At the arrival she was welcomed by Jesper Fisker, the CEO of Kræftens Bekæmpelse, and Gurli Martinussen, CEO of TrygFonden. It was a warmhearted welcoming. After a few speeches and entertainment, she even participated in the untraditional launching of the Time Flies campaign. Think it was a great day for all of them. The Crown Princess was indeed in a splendid mood.

As her wonderful smile; she wore wonderful clothes as well at the day in collaboration with Kræftens Bekæmpelse and TrygFonden. Mary has chosen to wear a reused creamy white suit from Max Mara. Do you remember it? She wore it first at an official visit to Sweden last year, here. At that time she was joined by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, and the world seemed to love it. For years I have been in love with women wearing suits. Makes a great statement. It looks great and is easy to wear. This time has chose to embrace a chic spring style by wearing a little bit of colours - to be more precise; green. The clutch is from Nina Ricci and seen once before on a business trip to the United States in 2016, here. Again she matched it with something white and it works so well. Don't you think? In the same spectacular colour, Mary accessorized her outfit with brand new earrings from Jewlscph. Their identity has been confirmed by the itself. Beautiful, right? I am sure many of you noticed the rather large ring on her finger. To be clear, it is not new but never identified. Somehow I have always presumed that Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen made it, though I have never been able to find anything like it. Then we have a very familiar pieces - her Orit Elhanati necklace and snake pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

Day 4. Business Promotion in the United States

Friday, September 30th
From September 27-30th Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary have visited Washington and Boston along with a business delegation of 59 Danish companies.

The royal couple arrive on Tuesday. The final day of the Crown Prince Couple's visit to Washington and Boston.

Crown Prince Frederik was the first to begin his day at the DONG Energy Breakfast Event followed by the opening of a seminar on sustainability on energy and a visit at Harvard Kennedy School where the Crown Prince handed over a scholar on 250.000$ from Crown Prince Frederik Fund to Harvard University Kennedy School.

Meanwhile Crown Princess Mary attended the opening of the seminar 'The Drivers of Food Innovation in the U.S. and Denmark' on innovation in the food sector, where she also gave a speech on occasion of the opening. Later the same day she was present at the opening of 'LEO Science & Tech Hub' at Cambridge Innovation Center and she visited the Boston Children's Hospital. A great experience for everyone.

It was quite an experience for the attendance when Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrived to the State House to meet with Charles D. Baker, Governor of Massachusetts where the royal couple also enjoyed a lunch accompanied by the Danish business delegation, local collaborators and other representatives. One of the attendance who was there at the arrival is Sarah from Swedish Royal Fashion. She kindly share some of her photos with me and have given me permission to share them with you.

It has been called 'pale pink' but I'm pretty sure her incredible KITX coat is white. Kinda makes me happy every time I see it. How many times has she worn it by now? - two or three. Really classy, elegant and feminine. Think it looks amazing on her with the rather large cuffs, loose neckline and floaty skirt.

Radiant like a star she styled her outfit with a pair of pointed snake print pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Another interesting accessory worn on that day is the new green clutch. Because of the colour I noticed it right away. It is a two material clutch from Nina Ricci found by Heaven. Secondly I noticed the new long necklace and of course earrings, the diamond bracelet (possibly from Ole Lynggaard  Copenhagen, here) and two rings. The style really reminds me of jewellery from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, which is why I strongly believe it's their design. Then we have a golden Cartier bracelet. And her hairstyle. Simply gorgeous and romantic.

70th Birthday Party at Rosendal Manor

Friday, May 30th

Count Ditlev Knuth-Winterfeldt celebrated his 70th birthday which took place at Rosendal Manor. Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik and the Crown Prince couple were invited.

A couple of hundreds guest were invited, including the Queen, her husband and the Crown Prince couple, to take part in the celebration of Count Ditlev Knuth-Winterfeldt who celebrated his 70th birthday at Rosendal Manor in Fakse. Arriving shortly before the Queen and Prince Henrik, were Frederik and Mary warmly welcomed by Count Ditlev and his daughter. All four members of the royal family were relaxed at the arrival and seemed to have been looking forward to this evening. With Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik arriving as the last guests, the celebration was about to begin. It was an evening with a great planned menu, several guests had prepared speeches given during the party and music enjoyed by everyone. I can't imagine anything else than the royal couple have had a wonderful evening. It was a private celebration and only a few photographers such as journalists showed up to catch a glimpse of all those who had been invited.

About the evening gown Mary had chosen to wear at the birthday celebration, then finally after a loooong time I am now aware of who the designer it. Heaven is the one to identify Nina Ricci (Fall 2006) as the creator of her evening gown. Really this is a dress you either love or hate. I am differently the first; I simply adore it. Bu the way, do you remember the dress? All the way back in 2008, here, she wore it during an official visit to Island along with Frederik. Think it's great how she managed to keep her look a bit more casual this time with her hair down. Matching the black details on the dress, she was wearing a black leather bracelet which I strongly believe is from Naledi Copenhagen, a pair of satin Prada pumps and an old (lost) favourite of hers, a black beaded clutch never identified. When we talk about Prada I want to mention that once a fellow share her thoughts with me that Prada could be the designer of this dress, but so far I haven't been able to prove it. Now you know. Not everything was black because she had chosen a pair of diamond earrings custom made by Marianne Dulong featuring rose quartz pendants. I could differently see Mary wear this outfit again someday with some kind of elegant hairdo.
