The Education Prize 2020

30th September

There is a first day for everything. Yesterday, Crown Princess Mary attended as guest of honor in the presentation of the very first Education Prize 2020. The prize is an initiative from the Danish Ministry of Education and Research. It is given to seven teachers in higher education, who have shown both commitment and an inspiring way of teaching.

Crown Princess Mary was one big smile when she arrived and during the whole visit. I guess it made her proud to be the one to honor these great teacher for their true and honest commitment being a teacher. It is exactly what this new prize is all about. Us honoring those edcators who inspire and are creative in their way of given away knowledge.

With the honor, comes money for personal use and to spend on activities that will create a more vibrant and encouraging environment of education. The Crown Princess handed over all seven prizes herself with a little help from Minister of Education and Research, Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen.

The seven winners are:

Claus Brabrand (Associate Professor of Computer Science at the IT University of Copenhagen) Knud Erik Christensen (from UCL's teacher training), Per Hessellund (from Engineer School in Aarhus), Luise Theil Kuhn (Associate Professor at DTU Energy), Thomas William Lee (Assistant Professor at the Aarhus School of Architecture), Vibeke Røn Noer (Associate Professor and Research Leader in the Nursing Program at VIA University College) and Per Reeslev (from the financial economics education at CPHbusiness). Congratulations to all of them.

A reception followed the award ceremony in which Crown Princess Mary also attended.

What I love about Mary, is how she always manages to make an old piece of clothes look new - every single time. That is exactly what happened again yesterday. Mary showed in one of her old goodies from Vilshenko. A dreamy white dress with a magnificent floral print. Even though we have already seen her wear this dress for four other occasions, I still get the feeling that we saw it for the very first time yesterday.

This time she embraced the style by wearing stunning diamond earrings featuring blue drop pendants. They are from Dulong Fine Jewelry. The same designer also created two of her golden bracelets worn at the event. Especially these bracelets (combined with her Cartier bangle) seems to be some of her absolute favorites at the moment. Do you have any favorite jewellery that you wear every day? I do. I have a simple silver bracelet and a couple of rings that I wear almost everyday. One of diamond rings are from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and the other one is a rather new addition from Dulong Fine Jewelry. A custom-made piece.

As other accessories, she had chosen a blue Quidam clutch and matching Gianvito Rossi pumps in the exact same dark blue color. I love when she match two different accessories, from different designers, this well. She topped off her outfit with the most amazing curly hair. A soft and feminine look.
