International Day of the Girl Child 2020

7th October

Crown Princess Mary was guest of honor and one of the key note speakers at the International Day of the Girl Child. The event took place at Nærum Gymnasium and was organized as a collaboration between PlanBørnefonden and third year students at Nærum Gymnasium.

The International Day of the Girl Child is an initiative by the United Nations. The goal is to raise awareness about issues that girls around the world have to face on a daily basis because of their gender. With her knowledge, insight and commitment Crown Princess Mary is an important asset for women and girls around the world. She clearly showed that by participating yesterdays event in Nærum

She arrived with a smile on her face. Looked like she was particularly ready to be present for the following debate, which had education as its theme . Standing in front of a bunch of third year students, the Crown Princess acted like she had not been during anything else her entire life. With great empathy and care, she joined the conversation with both Faridah from Uganda and Lidya from Ethiopia. Both girls have experienced the importance of going to school and get an education.

Faridah and Lidya also explained what COVID19 and school closures has ment for girls and young women. A lack of security and a higher risk of sexual assault, violence, early marriages and teenage pregnancies. Crown Princess Mary shared this in posts on social media expressing both her sincere commitment, support and compassion. I am in no doubt that all participants attending yesterday's debate have become more aware of the issues girls face every day, and the fact that we still got a lot to do to help and change the course. We have to fight for a better tomorrow.

To me a pants suit is just as essential as a pair of well-fitted shoes. Suits comes in a million different sizes and shapes, and as many colors. Finding the right suits can be difficult (I am stilling searching for mine), but it works as a good foundation does. With a suit you have everything - a day look, a night look, something that can be worn together or separately.

Mary really found a great suit. That black one fits brilliantly. Seems like she is keen on a more business-chic style these days. This one is from Alexander McQueen. Well, at least the black blazer is of that designer. Because the trousers look to match even the smallest details, I assume they could be from the same designer. She paired her lovely suit with a dark green blouse. To me it looks new, but I still do not know where it is from. Let the search begin.

She embraced the style with stunning golden jewellery. Most of the pieces are old and have seen before on several occasions. For instance, the earrings was worn at the opening of Naturkraft a couple of months ago, here. They are from Dulong Fine Jewelry, such as her two other golden bangles. Proves that good craftsmanship is anything but simple. The third bangle is her beloved Cartier bracelet.

For sure you also noticed that long golden necklace of hers. It is from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. The couple of pendants are also their design. The only thing new about that necklace, is the powder pink opal pendant. I have not been able to find the exact same, but one similar in silver. She is also wearing a golden ring featuring a light green paraiba tourmaline stone and diamonds. It is a custom-made unique trinity created by Dulong Fine Jewelry.

To match the rest of her outfit, Mary wore simple pointed pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Impressive what a pair of black leather pumps can do to make an outfit complete. Anyone who would like to copy this outfit  with me?

I don't know where it is from though.
Are you no longer posting Updates and News at the top of your blog? I haven't seen them for quite a long time and I was just wondering if my computer is displaying the blog pages differently. Thanks.

    1. The two blouses are indeed similar, but still a little different. Take a look at the hemline. One is a bit larger than the other. But good eyes or yours.

Actually, I am not and I haven't for quite awhile now. Wanted to try something a little different with my blog design, but I am open to hear any suggestions for alterations or additions :)
