The Danish Rainbow Awards 2020

30th September

For the third time this week, Crown Princess Mary attended a very important award show: the Danish Rainbow Awards 2020. The rainbow awards are each year given to both organizations, companies and people who work for a better living conditions for LGBT+-people in Denmark.

The Crown Princess arrived at Cirkusbygningen in Copenhagen to attend the event as a very special guest of honor. She was warmly welcomed by Niels Lautrup Holm, the front person of Rainbow Business Denmark.

It is no secret that she has made it her lifeswork to make the world at better place to live. She has already done that for a lot of people. I know there are much discussion about whether or not it is appropriate for her to attend this event, but with her attendance I think she makes it clear that we are all the same - girl, boy, woman, man, royal or not, LGBT+ or not.

She also gave a speech, followed by the presentation of this years winner of the Honorary Award: Doris Pollas. As 96-years old, she is the only living founders of the Circle of 1948 - today known as the LGBT+ Denmark. Congratulations to Doris with the prestigious Honorary Award.

For an evening like this, with people all over the place dressed in colors, it takes a great outfit for a Crown Princess to wear. And she did not fail to impress. Once again, Mary amazed me and most of you with last nights outfit. Even though she showed up wearing anything but colors. Instead, Mary had chosen a brand new black figure-hugging jumpsuit from Max Mara. Kate managed to identify the right one. I really think you should take a look at its details. The split trousers legs. The shiny black silk pieces. The fabric that wrapped her waist. I would not mind wearing this jumpsuit myself.

Dressed to impress. Not doubt about that. In that jumpsuit everything is possible. But her accessories were also pretty amazing. Let us take a look. Those rather large embellished earrings are old ones from Jewlscph. They go all the way back to 2011, when she attended the wedding of Gregers Heering and Sarah Kalbeitzer, here. Do you remember the earrings? Think I also spotted her golden Cartier bangle.

Some of you may also have noticed a ring on her right hand. I have no good picture that shows enough of it for me to me completely sure which one it is. But with what I have seen, it could be a ruby ring possibly inherited Queen Alexandrine of Denmark, here. It has never been confirmed that it is in fact the same ring, but we like the idea, right?

I do not see a clutch, but we must not forget those gorgeous grey silk pumps from Manolo Blahnik. Wish we could see more of them. Maybe one day we will. Her hair was beautifully curled and held by a diamond-like hairclip. So, tell me what you think? Is this outfit a winner?
