Reopening of the Court Theatre

Two Queen's on duty. Queen Mary and Queen Margrethe accompanied each other for the reopening of the Court Theatre in Copenhagen. The theatre was first opened in 1767 which makes it the oldest working theatre in Denmark. It has been under renovation for the last five years.

I adore velvet! I love the combination of navy blue and red but somehow I wish the print was on satin. What was your first thought? Nevertheless, it is indeed a beautiful dress. It is a new addition of Saloni. Truly in love with the neckline. Queen Margrethe also looked stunning in her bright purple dress. She always as Queen.

She has been very fond of wearing old jewellery inherited from royal women. At the reopening, Mary stunned wearing earrings and a diamond brooch that once belonged to Princess Caroline. Look closer and you'll see a couple of Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen rings.

I really missed those blue satin pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Everything about them are perfect. The clutch is a custom-made Carlend Copenhagen creation.

Presentation of the Royal Couple's Awards 2025

Since the couple married in 2004 they have honored the official Denmark with the Crown Prince Couple's Awards. They have honored organizations, artists, foundations, projects and initiatives. 

With the proclamation came a new name. Tonight, was the first time the Royal Couple's Awards (Kongeparrets  Priser) were presented. The award show took place in Ridehuset at Værket in Randers. The show will be broadcasted at DR and DRtv on November 1st.

Seems like it was a magical evening! The royal couple presented three awards: the Culture Award (Kulturprisen), the Social Award (Socialprisen) and the Community Award (Fællesskabsprisen).

The Culture Award was given to film director and screenwriter Christina Rosendahl, who has made a mark with personal, engaging and debate-provoking films.

The Social Award went to the non-profit organization Code of Care. They help businesses employ people with mental, physical or social challenges.

Last but not least, the Community Award was given to Grønne Nabofællesskaber which spreads green transition in the local community through more than 300 local communities across Denmark.

Congratulations to all of them with the prestiges honor and award!

Mary usually impress me with everything ser wears - even if it's a trend I don't really like. This time she didn't convince me. I love the fact that the couple matched each other in colors but that is mostly it. I like her new pleated skirt. I adore that old black satin blouse but not as an outfit. I think it looks messy. What was your first thoughts?

Her new sling-back pumps from Malone Souliers are soooo cool. I have no idea how I would style them but I can't wait to see Mary transform these shoes into "the star of the show". The stunning crystal clutch is a reuse from Reiss. She first wore it at an official dinner in Brazil in October 2024.

Wish we had more photos of her hair. That up-do looks so interesting. I miss these glamorous hairstyles. She use to wear that a lot more. Mary also styled her outfit with rather large diamond earrings once belonged to Princess Caroline. They are part of a diamond parure.

Dinner for the European Political Community

October 01, 2025

Kind Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a dinner for members of the European Political Community (EPC) on occasion of a meeting within of the European Political Community the following day in Bella Centre.

The meeting in Copenhagen is the seventh in the European Political Community (EPC) history. European heads of state and government as well as leaders of key European and international institutions are participating the meeting.

King Frederik gave a welcoming speech before the actual dinner, which took place in the Knight's Hall at Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg.

Don't know about the black Harris Wharf London coat with the white Carla Zampatti set but it suits her very well. I'm crazy in love with the new Zampatti blouse and matching trousers! This clean white set makes her look so elegant and polished. I really like the simple detailing with the wide "belt".

I'm a huge fan of her slick hairstyle. What a talented hair stylist who created this masterpiece. Mary also embraced the perfect evening outfit with stunning diamond earrings owned by Anne of Orange. Her ivy diamond brooch is also inherited from Princess Caroline's jewellery box.

A closer look revealed a black leather clutch from Diane von Furstenberg and cap-toe pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

The funeral mass of Pope Francis

Queen Mary attended the funeral mass of Pope Francis who passed away earlier this week. The mass took place in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican City in Italy. Royals from European families had gathered to attend the funeral.

Among other attended Queen Silvia and King Carl Gustaf of Sweden, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, Queen Mathilde of Belgium and Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway.

The Pope was 88 years old when he passed away.

Mark of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz

More than 1.1 million people lost their life in the german concentration camp 'Auschwitz' during World War II. Since 1947 Auschwitz has worked as a memorial for victims and survivors, and as a museum.

January 27th mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. European royals from both Spain, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Luxembourg were gathered in Poland to honor the many victims. King Frederik and Queen Mary represented Denmark at the honoring along with four Danish survivors and the Danish Prime Minister.

In honor of the victims and survivors I will pray for 1 minute in silence.

New Year's reception at Christiansborg

07 January 2025

King Frederik and Queen Mary were driven from Amalienborg to Christiansborg in the historical Gold Coach escorted by the Guard Hussar Regiment's Mounted Squadron. 

They were about to host the very last New Year's reception for Officers from the Defence and the Danish Emergency Management Agency, national organisations and royal patronages.

Love that Mary is rewearing her old Jule Fagerholt creation. She first wore it in 2008 at another New Year's reception at Amalienborg. Back then it came with a different top and a jacket. Even thought it looks beautiful today I still misses the matching top and jacket.

The fine diamond brooch dates back to around 1840 - possibly made for Queen Josefina of Sweden. Her grand daughter Crown Princess Lovisa of Denmark inherited them. They are now part of the Danish Royal Property Trust stored at Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen. 

The earrings comes with a history too. Read more about the earrings here. Apparently Mary chose to mix and match parts of two different earrings from the same parure.

She also styled her outfit with a beloved grey suede BOSS clutch and magnificent Gianvito Rossi pumps.
