Day 1. Official visit to Nigeria

June 24, 2025

"The 10 Million Safer Births Initiative"

Queen Mary paid an official visit to Nigeria from June 24 to 25th. She was accompanied by the Danish Minister of Education and Research, Christina Egelund. The visit is based on the Danish Government's "Africa Strategy" and focused on the Danish-Nigerian cooperation in both culture, healthcare and business.

The Queen and Christina Egelund were jointed by, among others, the Nigerian Minister of Women's Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim at "The 10 Million Safer Births Initiative"-event taking place at the Maitama District Hospital in Abuja.

I simply love when Mary is wearing colors - especially colorful and printed dresses. This is why I adore the La DoubleJ dress so much. She first wore it when visiting Fiji in 2023. Back then she wore it with nude python pumps but this time, Mary had chosen brown mules from Malone Souliers to match the dress. I kinda like that.

A closer look reveal her wearing beautiful golden earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a custom-made golden ring. Also mastered by Dulong Fine Jewelry. Love how her soft brown curly hair matched the shoes in color. Has her hair been dyed more light brown?

A day in Abuja

Later that day Minister of Education and Research Christina Egelund accompanied Queen Mary when attending a meeting with Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. The meeting took place at State House - the Presidential Villa.

The two of them then visited the Danish ambassador's residence in Nigeria followed by a visit at MeCaht Crisis Center - a center for young women who have been exposed to human trafficking.

Her choice in clothes is outstanding! So far we have seen everything I adore: colors and prints. When meeting the Nigerian President and First Lady at the State House she changed to a bright red blouse from Jesper Høvring and a stunning floral printed Paul & Joe skirt. The pleating's are wonderful. Love how "light" this outfit looks.

Mary embraced the style with simple python pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Think it is her most beloved pair of shoes.

Her beautiful white South Sea pearl earrings goes way back in time. They are created by Danish Dulong Fine Jewelry. So is her custom-made golden ring. Mary's necklace is rather new. It has been identified as a Louise Grønlykke design.

Reception at The Nordic Abuja

Queen Mary and Christian Egelund, Minister of Education and Research attended a reception at The Nordic Abuja in the evening after a long day in Abuja. She gave a speech on occasion of the reception.

I never been a huge fan of this dress. Think it is the silhouette that doesn't really attracts me. Mary first wore it at a business promotion visit in Sweden in 2017. Back then she also accessorized it with a black leather belt from Isabel Marant. I like the fact that she re-wore an outfit with a few other pieces of accessories.

Her beautiful curly hair was embellished with a new hair comb from talented Ellen Hunter. I really like how she matched white pearl earrings from Annikat with this specific hair comb and amazing pearl ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

Still haven't decided whether or not I like (or dislike) this model of shoes from Malone Souliers. What is your opinion? Mary wore brand new ones in black. The design is a collaboration between Malone Souliers and Philosophy (by Alberta Ferretti).

Day 2. Official state visit to Finland

05 March 2025

King Frederik and Queen Mary are on an official state visit to Finland these days by invitation of Finland's President Alexander Stubb.

They first accompanied each other for a visit at EMMA - Espoo Museum of Modern Art were they were given a guided tour around the museum. Then followed a visit at the Arkki School of Architecture for Children and Youth.

The couple also paid a visit the Aalto University and the Porkkala Garrison in Upinniemi. In between these two visits the royal couple attended a seminar about green financing followed by a business lunch.

Wish she would have worn another color coat. Don't think this bright color stands well with a soft grey. What are your thoughts? Princess Isabella has been seen wearing the Dolce & Gabbana coat at a premiere in Tivoli in 2024. Likely she borrowed it from her mother. I think Isabella wore it better.

Mary had chosen a reused embellished Prada jumper and wide-legged JOSEPH trousers. I kinda like the monochrome vibe. Looks great with her fair skin and brown hair. During the day she added a new navy blue down coat from Uniqlo.

A closer look revealed that she wore earrings that comes with a very special background. They belonged to Queen Margrethe and was a gift for Mary around 2012. Her ring matched perfect in color.

She topped off the look with a black leather handbag from Mulberry and midi heeled boots in grey suede. Mary has worn them before but I am still not sure if they correct designer has been found.

Reciprocal arrangement

In the evening King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a reciprocal arrangement in Finlandia Hall with the Finnish President and his spouse Mrs. Innes-Stubb as guests of honor. Denmark's ambassador to Findland, Jakob Nymann-Lindegren also attended the arrangement along with other ministers.

King Frederik gave a finial speech with a thanks to the Presidential couple for their kind invitation.

This is not the first chalky white suits Mary has in her closet but this one has never been seen before - except from the trousers. The suit is from Finnish Andiata. Mary first wore the trousers in Paris on occasion of the official opening of the Olympic Games in 2024. At the reciprocal arrangement she wore the trousers with its matching blazer and vest.

Mary embraced the style with stunning golden earrings and a necklace from Dulong Fine Jewelry. She has the same earrings studded with diamonds but I am pretty sure it is the first time she wears a pair without any diamonds. The yellow diamond ring has been seen on a number of previous occasions.

The white pearl clutch from Anya Hindmarch and those golden leather pumps from Malone Souliers are a wonderful addition to a great outfit.

Day 2. Official visit to Germany

22 October 2024

King Frederik and Queen Mary arrived in Berlin yesterday where they spend their first day of the official visit to Germany. They also attended a grand dinner in the evening with attendance from both Swedish and Norwegian royal family.

Their second day was spend visiting the Danish minority living in Schleswig-Holstein. The King and Queen were officially welcomed in Kiel by Minister President of Schleswig-Holstein Daniel Günther and his wife Anke Günther.

The welcome ceremony was followed by a boat trip at GEOMAR as part of a conference on energy in which the royal couple later attended. Then a visit at Danevirke and a guided tour around Flensborg House - the center of Danish businesses in South Schleswig.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Mary's outfit. Love the colors, mix of materials and how she added a coat and scarf, and had then created the perfect October-outfit. When visiting Danish minority in Schleswig-Holstein, Mary wore a beautiful new printed ME+EM blouse, a chic bordeaux Harris Wharf London blazer and smashing new The Fold London trousers. Hey, what is not to like? The beige trenchcoat is also from Harris Wharf London.

Mary accessorized her look with Sophie Bille Brahe diamond earrings and a custom-made golden ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry. I like how she kept it simple with her number of jewellery. Makes it look a bit more balanced.

The fine brown leather handbag is a reused Anya Hindmarch and the matching pointed pumps are Malone Souliers. Still in conflict with myself about the heels. They look super comfortable and Mary wears them with great elegance, but the design is just not my cup of tea. Later, she changed to a pair of navy blue Prada boots.

'Marahton Sining' at Vartov College

21 June 2024

Queen Mary acted as hostess of the event 'Marahton Sining" at the Vartov College in Copenhagen. The even is an annual gathering. The Queen was one of the events hostess and themed songs about 'Denmark'. The event took place at the Vartov College - not by accident. One of our beloved songwriter N.F.S. Grundtvig was a priest at Vartov from 1838 to 1872.

She even chose five songs herself: "Der er et yndigt lands", "Underlige aftenlufte", Kærlighed til fædrelandet", "Lyse nætter" and "I Danmark er jeg født".

"The Danish song treasure is a crown jewel in our cultural heritage. There is something extraordinarily lovely about singing together because we feel connected to each other when we do it."
- Queen Mary

There is no doubt that Mary was indeed honored to be one of "Marathon Sining's" hosts. Felt like the sining crawl on her back and made her one big smile. Her spirt made her outfit even more stunning! I truly adored everything about Mary's outfit. She looked amazing in that brand new Zimmermann dress. The color and print are smashing.

She accessorized her new long dress with custom-made earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry - first worn in 2008 which makes them sixteen years old. Her Halberstadt is rather new, but already a beloved piece of jewellery. Dulong Fine Jewelry also created Mary's beautiful ring and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen mastered one of her diamond bands.

Her Malone Souliers pumps have never really been my favorite pair of shoes. You know that. But these brown ones have caught my eye in another way. I like them. What is you opinion?

"Find the Elephant - Experience Aarhus"

20 June 2024

Queen Mary attended the event "Find the Elephant - Experience Aarhus" in Aarhus. The project is by the Psychiatry Foundation - one of her patronages.

"Find the Elephant - Experience Aarhus" is an 'exhibition' of 30 decorated elephant sculptures located all over Aarhus to raise awareness about mental illnesses. The sculptures are designed by both Danish and international artists. End of summer 2024, the elephant sculptures will be auctioned in favor of the Psychiatry Foundation's work to ensure better treatment and terms for people with a mental illness.

During her visit in Aarhus, she met with some of the artists and residents from Enghaven in Horsens, who shared with her poems of own experiences with a mental illness.

Seems like Mary is quite fond of simple outfits these days. When attending the event in Aarhus, she had wisely chosen a blue and white pinstriped Bagutta blouse and chic navy blue Max Mara trousers. She first wore them at Queen Margrethe's 84th birthday in April. The blouse is from the couple's first day in Norway on May 14th.

Mary captured a wonderful outfit with a few (but stunning) pieces of jewellery. We all know about the initial 'F'-necklace from Halberstadt, but do you remember her beautiful Louise Grønlykke earrings? Well, we have only seen them once. In 2021, when the couple had a small chat with Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

Honestly, I have never really been a huge fan of her Malone Souliers heels. The design is a bit odd to me, but the more Mary wears them, I have a good eye for them. What is your opinion?

Day 1.

Official state visit to Norway

14 May 2024

On their way to Oslo

The King and Queen just participated an official state visit to Sweden and are now on their way to visit Norway. They are spending time on board Dannebrog and is arriving in Oslo by the royal ship.

The couple shared a photo of the two of them a few hours before arriving in Oslo.

What an amazing photo! I love the whole atmosphere. Casual and relaxed. Mary looked beautiful in a simple black and white striped Max Mara blouse, probably jeans an a lightweight navy blue down vest from Yeti.

Best guess is that she matched the casual outfit with a pair of sneakers. The blue Gucci sunglasses are a reuse. First worn when inaugurating the hiking route 'Skudestien' in August 2023.

Official welcoming

King Frederik and Queen Mary arrived at Honnørbryggen in Oslo around noon and were warmly welcomed by the Norwegian royal family. What a sight! Followed by an official welcoming ceremony at Det Kongelige Slott.

The couple then attended a ceremony at the memorail site ' The National Monument' for the victims of the war in 1940-1945. They also had the pleasure of meeting the President of the Parliament Masud Gharahkhani before having lunch at Kongsgården.

Wauw! Mary looked absolutely stunning when the couple arrived in Oslo, Norway. So polished and elegant. Love how she matched her reused plain white Ralph Lauren jacket with that paisley printed Erdem skirt. She emphasized her slim waist beautifully with a dusty pink belt. Great color!

What Mary do best is color-combinations. Especially, when she wears accessories in the same color palette. Like the belt, Max Mara handbag and exclusive pointed Gianvito Rossi pumps. I am always amazed how she is able to find matching colors even crossing designers.

I am sure you noticed her fine earrings. Mary inherited them from Queen Margrethe - who actually wore them on her official 18th birthday portrait. Mary first wore them in 2012. According to Billed Bladet, Mary's new brooch also belonged to Queen Margrethe. It goes back to Queen Lovisa.

Visit at 'Oslo Science City' and 'MiNaLab'

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit accompanied King Frederik and Queen Mary, when the couple paid a visit at 'MiNaLab' which is part of Oslo University and it an open laboratory for students and scientists.

The royal couple were given an insight into current research in microchips and the potential of quantum technology, such as the cooperation between Norway and Denmark on the green transition.

Love how Mary and Mette-Marit matched their outfits. Both wearing a fine blouse and wide-legged trousers. Mary had chosen a brand new blue and white striped button-down from Bagutta and old Chloe trousers. The color is simply wonderful. Never really thought about paring blue and brown.

She also wore a rather new brown leather handbag from Anya Hindmarch. First seen on May 7th 2024. We also get a glimpse of new Malone Souliers mules. I am not their biggest fan, but Mary wear them with such elegance.

Her stunning jewellery are Orit Elhanati earrings, a golden diamond studded Halberstadt necklace and a custom-made ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Splendid combo!

Gala dinner at Det Kongelige Slott

What a wonderful night it was when King Harald and Queen Sonja hosted a prestiges gala dinner at Det Kongelige Slott in Oslo.

Both Crown Prince Haakon, his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Astrid also attended the fine dinner.

It was indeed a magical night! Everybody looked so happy and all were well-dressed. Loved Queen Sonja's dress. The color is amazing. Reminds me a bit about one of Mary's Jesper Høvring dresses. Crown Princess Mette-Marit also looked beautiful in her two-piece.

Nevertheless, Mary took my breath away in her altered Birgit Hallstein dress. The Danish tailor really did a great work with her old gowns from from 2015. It is hard to believe it is even the same dress. Completely transformed. I adore the new details!

What's even more fantastic, is that Mary wore the exquisite Danish Pearl Poiré Parure - previously worn by among others Queen MargretheQueen Ingrid and Princess Louise. Read more about the parure at 'The Royal Watcher'.

She also embraced the evenings outfit with a reused silver clutch, her beloved Halberstadt necklace and shiny Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Official boarding Dannebrog

02 May 2024

Boarding Dannebrog in Copenhagen

The King and Queen boarded the royal yacht Dannebrog at Nordre Toldbod today to official begin their summer tour around in Denmark. A tradition that goes back many years. The couple "inherited" the tradition from Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik.

They take official residence in Kancellihuset at Fredensborg. Therefor, Dannebrog docked in Helsingør, where the royal couple were welcomed in the greatest way possible. King Frederik and Queen Mary will then be accompanying Queen Margrethe, whom has also taken residence at Fredensborg Castle.

This evening, the couple will be officially welcomed by citizens in Helsingør. This little 'welcoming ceremony' has been a tradition every single year to greet Queen Margrethe and late husband Prince Henrik when moving in at Fredensborg during summer time.

Queen Mary looked nothing less than absolutely stunning when boarding Dannebrog! The smashing Iris & Ink dress styled with a brand new belt, a custom-made ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry and beautiful navy blue leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Love her new headpiece created by Maggie Mowbray Millinery. Amazing details.

Shortly before the little welcoming ceremony, the Queen was spotted outside Kancellihuset.

Danish Hospital Clowns at Bispebjerg

05 October 2023

The Crown Princess visits the Danish Hospital Clowns at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center at Bispebjerg Hospital.

She was accompanied by the Hospital Clowns Basta and Bella Bindestreg. Look like they truly enjoyed the day together.

The Crown Princess and her two "associates" also paid a visit to some patients and their co-hospitalized parents at B102, which is for children and young people to they age of 18 who are being examined and treated in an intensive course for a severe eating disorder and possibly also another psychiatric diagnosis.

My favorite time a year is by definition autumn. I love every single thing about it - also the rainy and windy days. The fashion during autumn is magical. Finally, Mary has embraced warmer earthly colors. They match her fair skin and dark hair really well.

When visiting the Danish Hospital Clowns at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center at Bispebjerg Hospital, she glittered like a star in a brand new burgundy Harris Wharf London blazer, a stylish reused Polo Ralph Lauren trousers and a simple white t-shirt. What is not to like?

When looking at details we find that Mary actually wore quite a lot of jewellery. Three necklaces from Halberstadt, Julie Sandlaud and a new custom-made one from Dulong Fine Jewelry. They are also the creator of one of her golden bracelets. The delicate diamond ring is Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

I was never really a fan of those Malone Souliers. Mainly because I would never know how to style them myself. Mary does. Now, I can't see this outfit with any other shoes.

Gala premiere of "Ehrengard"

06 September 2023

Queen Margrethe was accompanied by her daughter-in-law when attending the grand gala premiere of "Ehrengard" (here). A film that is directed after the famous Danish writer Karen Blixen's novelle from 1962.

The gala premiere took place close to the two royal ladies homes - Moltkes Palace in Copenhagen.

Queen Margrethe has contributed to the film by creating more than 70 decoupages. A personal hobby of hers. She has also worked along with Director Bille August in the creative process.

Mary was truly a sight for sore eyes when she attended the gala premiere of "Ehrengard" at Moltkes Palace in Copenhagen. She looked stunning next to her beautiful mother-in-law. I was also very impressed by Queen Margrethe's outfit.

Mary wore an old coral lace dress from Collette Dinnigan. Originally, it is floor-length. Like we saw when she first wore it in 2013 at the wedding of Prince Madeleine and Chris O'Neill (here). In 2022, she had the dress altered (here). Now it is a bit shorter. Which length do you prefer?

At the gala premiere, Mary embraced the style by wearing Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau necklaces, a golden Rebekka Notkin bangle, Dulong Fine Jewelry bracelet and one from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Look closer and you will see that she also wore a couple of diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. The earrings are brand new. They have been identified as Rosing.

I was never really a huge fan of either clutch or shoes, but she really made it work with the Collette Dinnigan dress. The soft gold looks amazing with the bright coral pink.

Day 2. Officiel visit from Norway

16 June 2023

AARHUS

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary accompanied King Harald and Queen Sonja in Aarhus on Friday (here). The couple have traveled all the way from Oslo to attend an official visit in Denmark.

The Crown Prince Couple attended the opening of business conference and a dinner the previous day (here) and thereby accompanied Queen Margrethe, King Harald and Queen Sonja.

The royal couple arrived in Aarhus by Dannebrog - the royal yacht (here). In Aarhus, they joined the King and Queen of Norway for a business conference at DOKK1, a meeting with Norwegian students and Denmark and had official lunch at Aarhus City Hall.

Before leaving Aarhus, they attended "LiteratureXchange" - a literature festival.

What is not to like? Mary looked like the most incredible bouquet of flowers in that brand new Erdem dress. I am truly impressed. Her new dress is so beautiful. The details are exquisite. The pleatings, the neckline, the belt and soft sheer sleeves.

She embraced the style of her new dress with a reused hairband purchased from Miss Haidee Millinery. Mary first wore this stunning hairpiece at the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the ordination of women to the priesthood in April 2023 (here). She matched it with smashing Gianvito Rossi pumps made of python. Even the clutch matched. This is still unidentified.

The fine diamond earrings and one of her rings are also still unidentified, which is quite impressive because both earrings and ring have been in her wardrobe for many years. Still no clue. The other diamond bands are from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

RECEPTION

The previous day, Queen Margrethe hosted a dinner at Amalienborg. The following day, King Harald and Queen Sonja hosted a reception on board the royal ship Norway (here).

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended the reception.

At the arrival, they were warmly welcomed by the Regal Couple. Wonderful to see the four of them together.

Mary was beautifully dressed in a reused floral dreamy blouse from Giambattista Valli matched with new white trousers. She first wore this blouse when celebrating Crown Prince Frederik's 50th birthday (here). I hope to identify her new trousers, because they are incredibly beautiful.

She styled the outfit with a lovely hairdo showing magnificent golden earrings from Rebekka Notkin. These earrings are also worn before. Like, when the couple presented "The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2019" (here). Her golden bangle is also a reused creation from Rebekka Notkin.

We get a glimpse of a beloved 'F'-necklace as well. It is from Halberstadt.

The yellow Yves Saint Laurent clutch goes back to 2009 (here). It was truly love a first sight. I really adore this clutch. Mainly because of the color.

She had chosen reused golden Malone Souliers pumps. I was never really a huge fan of these pumps, but Mary wears them with such elegance.

Day 4. Business promotion visit in India

01 March 2023

For three days, the Crown Prince Couple have been accompanied by a business delegation of 36 Danish companies in India. They are attending a business promotion visit to promote the green transition with main focus on water and energy.

On their last day, they split up during the day and had jobs to do on their own. While Crown Prince Frederik visited IIT Madras Research Park, his wife visited the Larsen & Toubro - an Indian based engineering company that work with both industry, energy, electronics, IT, construction, etc. The Crown Princess also visited the Henning Holck-Larsen Museum located next to Larsen & Toubro's Headquarters in Chennai.

Crown Princess Mary also paid a visit to the Headquarters of Grundfos. The reason for her visit was a seminar on water sector cooperation between Denmark and India. The Crown Princess gave a speech at the opening of the seminar.

The couple accompanied each other when they were welcomed by Tamil Nadu's Governor H.E. R. N. Ravi.

In the evening, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended a final reception to end the business promotion with style. The business delegation from Denmark also attended the reception. The commitment between Denmark and Tamil Nadu was celebrated. After the reception followed a dinner with Grundfos. They celebrate their 25th anniversary doing business in India.

During the day in Chennai, India

Those of you who have followed Style of Mary for some time will know that I am totally in love with suits. Especially, when Mary wears them. I get chills every time she chooses to wear one of her suits - or just color matching outfits. Looks good on her. This brown suit is no exception. Just look at her! Isn't that an incredible outfit? Actually, she has worn the trousers once before, when attending the launch of UNFPA's "State of World Population Report 2022" (here). But the blazer is never seen before. I learned that Mary's blazer is also from marvelous Max Mara. The same goes with her new white blouse as well. Can't get enough of this outfit. Wauw.

Mary embraced the look with some smashing pieces of jewellery. She repeated wearing necklaces from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. If the symbolism is what we have come to believe, then it is even more precious. We get a glimpse of a diamond bangle from Ole Lynggard Copenhagen and a beautifully crafted ring from Rebekka Notkin as well. Of course - the earrings. At the moment, I do not know a thing about them.

When Mary first wore the Malone Souliers heels, I was no fan (at all!). Thought they looked a bit odd and funny. I changed my mind. This is a perfect example of how much ones mind can change, when a piece of accessory is worn differently.

At the final reception and anniversary dinner

In the evening, Mary had changed to something a bit more glamorous. She had chosen an old custom-made dress made by Søren Le Schmidt. She first wore it for the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes award show in 2020 (here). I like it a bit more this time. Don't know why but I do.

Mary was wearing stunning diamond and Aquamarine blue earrings once purchased on an Bruun Rasmussen auction. They go way back. She has worn them on a number of different occasions. Like, when visiting New York in 2005 (here) and in 2013, when Denmark hosted an official visit from Finland (here). Once again, she also wore her Halberstadt og Julie Sandlau necklaces. The diamond bangle from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen is also the same as earlier. She added a golden piece from Dulong Fine Jewelry as well.

A couple of days prior to the final reception, Mary accessories a look with her pink satin box clutch from Bottega Veneta (here). She repeated that success. The magnificent light grey satin pumps are delicate creations from Manolo Blahnik.
