Day 1. 100th anniversary with diplomatic relations between Denmark and Lithuania

30 September

Thursday morning, Crown Princess Mary arrived to Vilnius. She was about to stay in the capital of Lithuania for two days on occasion of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Denmark and  Lithuania. She was warmly welcomed at the airport. Given flowers and greeted by the welcoming committee.

Her day had just begun. Crown Princess Mary's program of the day was packed with places to be, people to meet and things to see. But first, the official welcoming. It took place at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius. President Gitanas Nausėda and his wife Diana Nausėdienė welcomed the Crown Princess with open arms. She enjoyed lunch with the Presidential Couple before she headed off to a meeting with the President of the Lithuanian National Parliament Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen. The Crown Princess also visited Vytautas Kasiulis Art Museum with Mrs Diana Nausėdienė to attend the open the exhibition “Awakening of Nations”. In the afternoon, she paid her respect and attended a wreath laying ceremony. This is just to mention a few things from her first day in Vilnius.

In the evening, Crown Princess Mary attended a gala concert with musicians from both Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The concert was arranged by the Danish Cultural Institute, which the Crown Princess is patron of. She was accompanied by, among other guests, Mrs Diana Nausėdienė. After the concert, Ambassador Hans Brask hosted a dinner at the Danish Embassy in Vilnius. Crown Princess Mary attended as guest of honor.

When Mary first arrived to Vilnius in Lithuania, she has chosen a comfortable outfit for her flight. The grayish JOSEPH coat looked great on her, but it covered a bit the rest of her outfit. Looks like Mary wore black wide-legged trouser and a matching blouse. Even though we have only seen a couple of photos from the arrival, we still get a glimpse of how she accessorized her travel-outfit. I see pink diamond earrings from Hartmann's (much loved by her), a couple of golden rings from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a third one from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Mary also embraced a perfect look by wearing a Ralph Lauren bag.

Around noon, Mary kicked off today's program in a killer outfit! She wore her stunning Mark Kenly Domino Tan dress. What a beauty. She first wore the dress at an official visit to Italy in 2018 (here). Then again a year later in Paris (here). Cannot get enough of this dress and the Max Mara belt is a lovely addition. Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen is the talented master behind her golden diamond studded earrings and the magnificent leaf brooch. They also created the diamond bangle. I am crazy about Lynggaard's craftsmanship. The two other golden bracelets are from Rebekka Notkin and Cartier. Mary also wore two matching rings from Dulong Fine Jewelry. She topped of the look with a small Prada handbag and nude Prada pumps.

In the evening, she changed one more time. From white to bright blue. Her blue beauty is a reused dress from Cult Gaia. We first saw the dress, when Mary attended the 100th anniversary of Iceland's sovereignty in 2018 (here). At that time, I was not very in to the dress. I changed my mind. 100 %. She looks marvelous at the gala concert in Vilnius. Mary styled the dress perfectly with Dulong Fine Jewelry diamond earrings, a Cartier and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen bracelet. The pretty little blue box clutch is from Prada. The shoes are a mystery to me. They look suede and purple, but I need a bit more to say for sure where they are from. And I seriously love her hairstyle.

  1. Mary is really taking on more and more duties. I was surprised to see this trip as a solo trip. I don't know if the fact that it was to celebrate an anniversary made it less official than a "state visit," but Mary was certainly up to the task! The white dress looked perfect for the welcoming ceremony. I would like to see more pictures of the cocktail dress before I form an opinion.

    1. Indeed she was! The Crown Princess was really busy, when visiting Vilnius - just as when she is on a state visit on her own or accompanied by other members of the royal family.

Unfortunately, we do not have that many photos from the gala concert in the evening, but personally I liked her outfit :)
