Day 1. ICPD+25 High Level Commission meeting in Zanzibar

09 November 2022

Crown Princess Mary arrived in Tanzania, Zanzibar on November 9th to attend ICPD+15 High Level Commission's meeting. It is a two days visit.

ICPD+25 are a high level commission working to improve girls and women's rights. Something, Crown Princess Mary also has been committed to for quiet some years now. She has previously participated events with the high level commission.

On her first day, she visited a reproductive health clinic. They work with a 'zero maternity mortality". In other words: the clinic work on a daily basis to prevent and avoid maternal mortality under difficult conditions. Visiting the reproductive health clinic, Crown Princess Mary was given a tour around the facilities. She also met with some of the clinic's staff. They happily shared all the clinic's good results.

Later, the Crown Princess visited one of Zanzibar's old district called Stone Town. CUBE Innovation Hub I located in Stone Town. They had the pleasure of meeting the Danish Crown Princess. CUBE Innovation Hub gives a helping hand to startup and smaller companies across Tanzania and Zanzibar. All to reach their dreams and goals.

During the visit, Crown Princess Mary met young entrepreneurs, who gladly told her about their visions, hopes and dreams to develop innovative technology and find solutions to help solved challenges for girls and women's sexual and reproductive health and rights.

On her first day in Zanzibar, Mary had chosen to wear a really lovely and casual outfit. I am a huge fan of all these casual outfits she has been wearing lately. When visiting the reproductive health clinic and meeting with CUBE Innovation Hub, Mary wore a simple white button-down blouse with a reused darker green skirt from Apiece Apart. An old goodie. What is not to like?

You do not have to look that closely, maybe only twice, to see that she was wearing a brand new initial necklace. Could the small 'F' necklace be her way of bringing her husband to Zanzibar with her? I kinda like the idea. I have not been able to identify its origin yet, but I hope I will. These "letter" necklaces have been quit fashionable lately. Is it time to have our own? She also wore two other golden necklaces. The one is from Dulong Fine Jewelry and the longest one is still a mystery to me.

Mary also embraced the look with three bracelets. All of them are designed and crafted by Dulong Fine Jewelry. A brand that has followed her since the time she became Crown Princess of Denmark.

Keeping her hair in place with a green Kknekki hairtie.

It took me some time before I realized that Mary had chosen to wear her golden leather flats from Anonymous Copenhagen. But she did. A lovely choice.

Exclusive birthday interview with The Australian Women's Weekly

31 January

Photographer Franne Voigt captured some new photos of the Crown Princess for a new book, which will be published on January 31st. It is called "H.K.H. Mary". One of the photos from the book is now on the cover of the latest edition of The Australian Women's Weekly". Franne Voigt is the photographer (here). The interview also included photos by Jester Sunesen, Steen Evald, Tine Harden and some of the family's private photos (here).

Mary wore so many beautiful in the latest edition of The Australian Women's Weekly. Most of the photos and outfits are brand new for us. Like the one on the cover. I made identifications of each outfit in chronological order from this post here. Hopefully, it is clear who, what, where and when. Photos like these really inspire me. Especially, her more private looks are a great inspiration for me. They are often easy to wear and easy to copy. Any of the new outfits you want to try out yourself? Or many a pieces of jewellery you would like to add to your wardrobe?

Day 2. Visit to Burkina Faso

29 October

Meeting the President of Burkina Faso

So, we just found out that Crown Princess Mary and Minister of Development Flemming Møller Mortensen have been on a two-days visit to Burkina Faso. In a troubled state like Burkina Faso, many girls and women have to pay the price and compromise their health, rights and opportunities. All because they live with poverty, a changing climate and much uncertainty.

On her second day in Burkina Faso, she first met with President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré. The meeting took place in the President Palace in Burkina Faso's capital, Ouagadougo. I am sure the President was able to give the Crown Princess a clear view of the situation in both Ouagadougo and Kaya as the Crown Princess visited the day before (here).

Meeting with the President of Burkina Faso from the morning, Mary had chosen a lovely outfit. She matched a simple white Hugo Boss blouse with a stunning floral printed midi skirt. The skirt has not yet been identified. I look forward to the day I happens.

She embraced the style with golden Orit Elhanati earrings, a nude reused clutch and what looks like new brown suede Gianvito Rossi Pumps. Truly a magnificent outfit for such a meeting.

During the day

After meeting President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré in the Presidential Palace, she and her traveling partner Flemming Møller Mortensen paid a visit to a local girls club not that far from Ouagadougou. Girls from the girl club, shared their stories and experience with child marriages, violence and  circumcision with the Crown Princess. The girls club act as a closed forum for the girls to talk, get legal advice and psychological support.

Crown Princess Mary enjoyed lunch with representatives from a youth panel. This youth panel is by initiative by the Danish Embassy in Burkina Faso. It provides the embassy a view and guidance of how to implement Denmark's help in the state.

After having lunch, the Crown Princess visited the counseling center ABBEF-centre. ABBEF has a wide range of competent health professionals, who offers their help and knowledge about both contraception, HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health in genereal.

After her visit at the Presidential Palace, Mary made quick change in clothes to an exotic printed button-down and her beloved green Apiece Apart midi skirt. Such a comfortable and down-on-earth-look.

She accessorized the outfit with earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry, a bracelet from the same designer and an Orit Elhanti necklace. The second golden bracelet is Cartier.

Wish I would be able to wear these golden sandals from Anonymous Copenhagen, but my feet would never cooperate with me. It looks like Mary makes it work perfectly.

Reception at the Danish Embassy

It had already been a long day for both the Crown Princess and the Minister of Development Flemming Møller Mortensen, but they had one more event to attend: an evening reception hosted by the Danish Ambassador in Burkina Fasp Steen Sonne Andersen.

At the reception, Crown Princess Mary had obviously been asked to make a speech and she did. She was then to meet a number of those partners Denmark collaborate with in Burkina Faso.

In the evening, she had changed clothes one more time. One final time before her visit was about the end and she was headed back home to Copenhagen. I learned from UFO No More that Mary was wearing a new green printed Hennes & Mauritz dress matched with a new leather belt from Isabel Marant.

As other accessories, she had chosen large golden earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a matching Orit Elhanati necklace. We also get a glimpse of a rather large ring. That is also from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

To me, it looks like Mary embraced the outfit with a new black (embroidered?) clutch as well and brand new peep-toe sandals from Givenchy. Thanks to UFO No More we know about these fascinating heeled sandals.

A last summer greeting

 31st August

We already got one summer greeting from the Crown Princes family from the time they stayed at Gråsten castle in Gråsten, here. Lovely photos that quickly spred across almost every country in the world. But now we got one more. Lucky us, right? But this year it was simply not enough. The family wanted to share one last summer greeting on the last day of summer.

The five new photos are of the Crown Princes Couple and their four children - Prince Christian, Princesses Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. All having a good time. Enjoying summer in Denmark.

It is photographer Franne Voigt, who captured these sweet moment of the Crown Prince family.

Mary looked absolutely great in her bright blue printed dress. I do not know if it is because it is from Hennes & Mautriz we like it so much, but nevertheless you seem to love it as much as I do. Wish it was still available. Maybe I have more luck the next time. I really like its beautifully sculpted sleeves and neckline. And the fabric is simply stunning, when it moved in the wind.

The brown belt she embraced her new blue dress with, is from Max Mara. I learned this from a good friend of mine, Kate. She often helps with with identifying Mary wardrobe. This new brown belt is for sure one we are going to see again. Often, I guess. Just look at the way it closes. What bright mind made this in his head? Love it!

Her golden jewellery are just as incredible as the rest of the outfit. The rather large golden earrings are a creation made with inspiration from Greece. They are from Dulong Fine Jewelry, such as several of her bracelets. Especially, the Dulong Fine Jewelry and Cartier bangles seems to be close favorites of hers. Mary often wears pieces over and over again for a long time, and then changes for something else. The sames goes with these two bracelets.

I hope you did not miss Mary's smashing new flat pointy ankle strap slippers? Never thought I would like such flats, but these are great. These I found at Anonymous Copenhagen. This is by no doubt my Mary is and always will be my style icon and inspiration. She always moves her boundaries, when it comes to trying out a new style of shoes, a new bold print or even a fancy color. Please, Mary keep it coming and never stop inspiring us with your fascinating and surprising style.
