Day 1. Official visit to Germany

21 October 2024

Arriving to Germany

On October 21st-22nd, the Royal Couple will pay an official visit to Germany and the Danish minority in Schleswig-Holstein on occasion of the proclamation in January.

King Frederik and Queen Mary arrived by plain in Berlin earlier this morning. They were warmly welcomed at the airport by President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender.

I have only been able to see a couple of photos from their arrival in Berlin, when leaving the plain. Looks like Mary is wearing a simple white blouse, navy blue trousers and a matching long coat. The photos I have seen are all blurry, so it's difficult for me to say anything for sure about brands.

She styled her travel outfit with comfortable Prada boots, a reused Ralph Lauren bag and a brand new headband created by Katrin Cecilia Jacobsen. A closer look revealed that she was in fact also wearing her beautiful printed Etro belt. I really look forward to the next couple of days!

First day in Germany

After their arrival, the royal couple were officially welcomed by President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender in their residence at Schloss Bellevue.

The official welcoming ceremony was followed by a meeting with the Bärbel Bas, President of the Bundestag. They were given a guided tour around the Reichstag.

In the afternoon, King Frederik and Queen Mary met with representatives from the five nordic countries - with Germany as host, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Nordic embassy facility in Berlin. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel from Sweden and Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit also attended the anniversary, along with Finland and Iceland's Presidents.

Have we seen this outfit before? Yes, we have. When the couple visited Norway back in May, Mary wore the exact same Jesper Høvring blouse, checkered Emilie Wickstead skirt and nude pointed Prada pumps. E Even the leather clutch from Prada is the same. Something, I think this time in Germany suits her way better. Think it is the 60's vibe that captures we. The soft blue coat matched everything perfectly!

Somehow, milliner Katrin Cecilia Jacobsen managed to create a headband in the same color and fabric as her beautiful Jesper Høvring blouse. That is truly impressive. Mary also styled her dreamy princess-look with large golden Rebekka Notkin earrings and a diamond ring.

I am enchanted by her wonderful outfit. Although we have are in end of October and autumn has already arrived, the soft pastel colors are still incredibly beautiful.

Official dinner

President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier hosted a prestiges official dinner at the Schloss Bellevue accompanied by his beautiful wife, Elke Büdenbender. The dinner also gathered royals from both Sweden and Norway and Presidents.

It was wonderful to see of them together: King Frederik, Queen Mary, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

Both the President of the Federal Republic of Germany and King Frederik gave a speech at the dinner.

I was breathless when I saw the first photos of Mary's evening outfit at the official dinner! She looked marvelous in her brand new bright red gown from Carolina. Herrera. It's so simple, yet detailed. The cap-sleeves, belt and tailoring are outstanding.

Mary embraced the outfit with her wedding earrings created by Dulong Fine Jewelry in company with King Frederik. It was his morning gift to his (then) future wife. Dulong Fine Jewelry also mastered the elegant white pearl ring. We all noticed her massive pearl bracelet. It features the portrait of Queen Josefina of Sweden-Norway. It is part of The Danish Royal Property Trust stored at Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen.

She matched the white pearl with a brand new Anya Hindmarch clutch. Truly incredible accessory. Such as the bright red satin pumps from Rupert Sanderson. Think I love pretty much everything of tonight's outfit. Even the hairstyle is perfect.

DR Girls Choir's Christmas concert

Sunday, December 16th

It was a proud patron the Crown Princess arrived to DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen to attend DR Girls Choir's Christmas concert. What a wonderful event for her to attend before Christmas Eve next week. Somehow I thought she would bring her family as she did at the Danish Music Conservatory's Children's Choirs Christmas concert on December 8th, here. But that was not the case. Nevertheless it seems like Crown Princess Mary really enjoyed the afternoon with a lot of wonderful music.

This year was a bit more special for the choir, because they celebrate its 80th anniversary. On this occasion a following anniversary reception took place with Crown Princess Mary as guest of honor. All I see, is a sincere and proud Crown Princess.

As mentioned the Crown Princess is new patron of the DR Girls Choir and on that occasion new pictures have been taken, here. You find a short video from the photoshoot, here. According to the Facebook page of DR Gils Choir, the pictures will be available last week.

What a wonderful look. Love everything about it. I barely know how to describe how I feel. Adore the combination of colours, silhouettes and fabrics. Simple and elegant.

At the arrival she wore her wool coat from JOSEPH over her shoulders. A great way to wear a coat - something like a cape. Maybe a bit unpractical, but fashion sometimes has to be. Mary embraced the style by wearing a brand new white blouse from Jesper Høvring's "Great Greenland" collection and a textured maxi midi skirt. I still do not know anything about the skirt. I need a more pictures than those I have already. Do you know anything? I would really like to find it.

Even the accessories Mary wore impresses me - white pearl earrings and a matching ring. Both pieces are from Dulong Fine Jewelry. The blue clutch is from Quidam. I am sure to remember the bright red embellished pumps. She first wore them back when the couple presented The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes in 2017, here. At the time she matched the pumps with a light blue dress made by Cecilie Bahnsen. This time it works way better in my opinion. Seems like the pumps comes to its hight with the white blouse and full skirt. Yes I can not hide my excitement.

The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2017

Saturday, November 25th

It all starts with the Crown Prince couple arriving to Jysk Musikteater in Silkeborg where the two hosts welcome viewers of the show. What happens next made me smile. Crown Prince Frederik acted as host for a few minutes and it seems like he's having lots of fun. Meanwhile his wife enjoy the scene from first raw. The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2017 is everything I hoped for; everything I wished it would be. A wonderful show with great music, lots of speeches, smiles and happy memories for all the winners. The prizes have now been handed over in 13 years. Amazing how time pass by with such speed and power. Both Crown Prince Frederik and his wife Crown Princess Mary really seemed to enjoy the evening from first raw. Several times they entered the stage, as hosts, to present and hand over four prizes. These are the prizes which were presented during the evening:

// The Crown Prince Couple's Culture Prize, which was given to Den Sorte Skole along with DKK 500,000.
// The Crown Prince Couple's Social Prize was handed over to the organization DIGNITY along with DKK 500,000
// The Crown Prince Couple's Stardust Prizes were received by the podcast Third Ear and designer Cecilie Bahnsen. Congratulations to all of them.

For me it has been a true pleasure to watch the show, though I didn't watch it live on Saturday. So, I talked about the show and now time is up for us to talk much more about what Mary was wearing at the event. For 13 years we have got to see Mary wear the most beautiful outfit -do you remember this here & here? Any favourites? This year she was dressed in a brand new blue dress featuring lace details. Usually we are left on our own trying to identify where her clothes are from. Sometime I wish she would be wearing clothes with a visual logo at front. That would make everything more easy for all of us. But this time was very different, because the making of her dress has been filmed and was then broadcasted during the show. Winner of one of the Crown Prince Couple's Stardust Prizes 2017, Cecilie Bahnsen created Mary's dress. According to an interview with the designer; Mary chose the colour herself. When she presented Cecilie Bahnsen as winner, she proudly showed off her very own dress with a great smile. At the arrival we got a glimpse of her white Prada coat and brand new Rupert Sanderson pumps. These were identified by Heaven afterwards. Seems like embellished pumps are incredibly popular right now. She embraced a chic and stylish evening outfit by wearing a beautiful rhinestone clutch, Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and white pearl ring such as a golden Cartier bracelet.

CBS Responsibility Day 2017

Friday, September 1st

The Crown Princess arrived in a great mood to Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center in Copenhagen on Friday morning. Here she was about to attend the CBS Responsibility Day 2017, which is a welcoming ceremony for all new bachelor students at CBS (Copenhagen Business School).

I wish the Crown Princess showed up the day I started at university - that was not the case. As she attended to welcomed all new students, she herself was kindly welcomed by Project Researcher Grace Livingstone and Principle Per Holten-Andersen.

As part of her visit the Crown Princess entered the stage. Standing in front of all these new students at CBS, she gave an impressive introduction speech, here. It is really all about responsibility and how to take action. But there was also room for laughter -lots of laughter. Especially, the Crown Princess seemed to has had a brilliant morning in company of the new students.

Though many photographers got lots of pictures of Mary when visiting Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen on Friday, I haven't been able to find them anywhere. Despite the fact that we haven't got that many pictures of her, it does not mean I can't comment on what she was wearing.

Except from the black dress and that white pearly necklace, everything else are identified. Let's start with the dress -it is a reuse from 2016 when Mary attended the official opening of the European Conference IDAHO Forum at Admiral Hotel in Copenhagen in May, here. I still haven't got a clue where to find it. Has some interesting stitches at front. About the pearl necklace, then I am pretty sure (99,9%) that is was worn at a big birthday dinner hosted by the Queen on occasion of her birthday, here. Sorry, but I do not remember the exact year. Though I believe it was around 2012. Nevertheless, I am thrilled she show how to wear a classy piece like this... for an everyday event! Other than the white pearl necklace, Mary was wearing her Hartmann's diamond earrings and three golden bracelets from Dulong Fine Jewelry and Cartier. The lovely Quidam clutch is a perfect match. Her pointed snake pumps are not yet identified.

Day 4. Official state visit from Japan

Tuesday, June 20th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary are present during the official state visit from Japan from 15-20th on occasion of the 150th anniversary of Danish-Japanese diplomatic relations. Crown Prince Naruhito is the represent from Japan.

The Crown Prince of Japan has been visiting Denmark for six days on occasion of the celebration of the diplomatic relations between Denmark and Japan. Both the Japanese and Danish Crown Prince are patron of the 150th anniversary. Don't get confused because I mention this as day 4. The reason for that is because we have only seen the Crown Princess four out of six days during the official state visit. Well actually a dinner was planned to take place at Amalienborg with the Danish Crown Prince couple as hosts, but so far we haven't got a single picture.

On his last day in Denmark, Crown Prince Naruhito visited State of Green at Danish Industry along with Crown Prince Frederik, which was followed by a boat trip accompanied by the Crown Princess. During the sailing trip, CEO of City- and Harbor Jens Kramer Mikkelsen told about Copenhagen Harbor. It was just great to see the two of them together. Seems like they really enjoyed each others company and had a wonderful time. The Crown Prince of Japan also had a meeting with Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen at Marienborg later in the noon as last event on his visit in Denmark. Am I the only one who think this has been a really wonderful state visit? The atmosphere was all relaxed and everyone seemed to have had some great days together.

The last week we have had the pleasure to see so many lovely outfit worn by the Crown Princess. She has worn a new floral dress, t-bar pumps, an old fascinator and much more. Joining the Japanese Crown Prince during his last day in Denmark, Mary showed us a brand new striped wonder. Looks very casual and sophisticated at the same time. Some mentioned to me that the skirt is blue and white, I'm more to black and white. It is from Jennifer I learned that her new skirt is from Sonia Rykiel; a designer I haven't thought of at all. Actually, I do not think we have ever seen Mary wear anything from this designer before, at least not what I'm aware of.

Thought it was a rather sunny and warm day, Mary had decided to wear her black Prada jacket. She embrace a chic sailer style by wearing Prada shades, large diamond earrings from Hartmann's, once again her golden Orit Elhanati necklace, bracelets from Dulong Fine Jewelry and Cartier. The navy blue pumps from Rupert Sanderson go years back. I am not quite sure when we saw them for the first time, but I think it was around 2012. Mary are known to mix and match colours and prints, but always in the same pallet of colours. So, to match the blue patent pumps she wore her blue Quidam clutch as well. I already mentioned how casual I think her outfit was because of the skirt, but the half updo and natural makeup makes it even more casual. I wonder how she is able to create a casual and ultra polished look! I'm only a little envious of her skills, when I see such an outfit.

Opening of a reading campaign & opening of an exhibition at Brandts

What a busy Crown Princess we have right now, am I right? We are so lucky to get to see her so often these days and it is just great. Today, she visited Odense to attend the opening of the reading campaign the Summer Book taking place at Odense library. The campaign is made i collaboration of the children's libraries in Denmark and is all about sharing the fun of reading books. For those kids who visited Odense library today, is became a very special experience when the Crown Princess of Denmark walked through the door. With great interest she quickly found herself a seat next to the kids and started talking about their favourite books, what they were reading and if they like reading at all. It was with great excitement the kids told Mary all about their favourite cartoon figures and most beloved books.

Followed by her visit at Odense library, the Crown Princess attended the opening of Danish Fashion Now at Brandts Museum also in Odense. Maybe you remember the name of the exhibition from one of my previous posts, here? What's a little more special about this exhibition is the fact that 10 of Mary's dresses are exhibited along with plenty of other Danish designer pieces, here. Then today, the Crown Princess got the chance herself to watch her own dresses on exhibited. She was given a guided tour around the exhibition, where she was told about all the different designers etc.

I am really glad to see her wear some colours again. When spring arrive it is time for bright and light colours, especially pastel colours, which we often get to see her wear during summer time. Unfortunately, the weather in Denmark right now is nothing to celebrate. Really, it's rainy all the time. I think most Danish woman would do everything to wear floral dresses, sandals and sleeveless tops. We have to deal with rubber boots, rain coats and scarves. The weather is by no doubt the reason way Mary wore what she did at the opening -long sleeves and rather plain colours. I only say that because at this time a year she use to wear eye-catching clothes featuring bright colours and prints that I really miss right now. I still admire her having bare legs on a day like this. Today's outfit is one to take notice of if you like the work-wear-style. Personally, this is the style I like -a blouse, pencil skirt and a blazer. You can wear it both day and night with any kind of accessory. The silk blouse featuring a black hemline had been identified by Kate as JOSEPH. The black hemline give the blouse a feminine and classic touch. Such a blouse is perfect both to wear with a skirt and trousers; day and night. Kate is also the one who identified the new skirt as Whiite Copenhagen, a brand we have never seen Mary wear before. The luxurious black patent pumps is from Rupert Sanderson. Less is more. The reason why I mention this is because of the modern and simple look Mary was dressed in also when it comes to her choice in jewellery. She wore Marianne Dulong earrings and a ring featuring a large white pearl. So beautiful.

Congratulations Queen Margrethe!

Thursday, April 16th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were present while Queen Margrethe celebrated her 75th birthday along with the Danish people.

Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary attending morning celebration at Fredensborg

For many years it has been tradition that the royal family celebrate the Queen on her birthday with a morning ceremony. Here friends and family gather in front of Fredensborg castle and congratulate her with greeting's and sining. And this year is a bit more special that usual, because the Queen celebrate her 75th birthday! On this occasion royal family members are gathered in Copenhagen to celebrate Margrethe and most of them also participated in the morning ritual. Especially Crown Princess Mary and Queen Mathilde of Belgium had a great time. All the Queen's eight grandchildren were gathered with the rest to celebrate the Queen, who was in a really mood. It was a quite windy morning when family and friends arrive to Fredensborg but that did not stop them from celebrating the birthday-girl. All the best wishes to Queen Margrethe on behalf of her 75th birthday. I know the Danes have been looking forward to celebrate her, have you? After the morning ceremony the Queen was driven to Amalienborg castle.

Because of the rather windy weather most guests were dressed in warm jackets and scarves. So was Mary. She was in a warm grey wool poncho with a purple cotton blouse underneath featuring long sleeves. This perfectly matched the slim black trousers and the heeled ankle boots from Gianvito Rossi. Remind me that I need boots just like these. They would do great during both fall and spring. The blouse makes me think of something but I can't tell for sure if we have seen it before. Do you recall having seen it before? Love how casual she was dressed as the rest of the family. Really, Mary can rock any outfit! Simply she accessorized her look with a few diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen

Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary on the balcony at Amalienborg

After the morning ceremony at 8:30 am. the Queen and her family stepped out on the balcony at Amalienborg castle at 12:00 pm. locale time. They were warmly met by hundreds of Danes who were gathered in front of the castle to congratulate their Queen on her 75th birthday. With Margrethe in the middle; the Crown Prince couple and their children were on her right side and Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and their children on her left side. These big birthdays are always celebrated with a glimpse of the royal family on the balcony at Amalienborg and it's something that can't change. I hope it is a thing Frederik and Mary will keep on doing as next in line to the Danish throne. Three times the Queen stepped out on the middle balcony -first on her own, secondly with the entire family and third with her two sons. I am sure we have never seen such a proud Queen, mother and grandmother before this. She was one big smile, such as the rest of the family.

In the noon, Queen Margrethe and her family entered the balcony's at Amalienborg as traditions says. Since Margrethe was just a little girl she has been during this to feel the love of the Danish people. Crown Prince Frederik and his family to her right and Prince Joachim and his family to her left side. Standing on the balcony, waving to the Danes Mary showed up wearing her midnight blue Oscar de la Renta coat featuring a decorated neckline. A beautiful piece with so many wonderful details I hardly know where to start and end. So, I will leave the commenting to you. She accessories her dreamy coat with grey suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi, a pair of earrings from Hartmann's and diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Her beauty is not to describe. The hairstyle is a side chignon; one of the most incredible and versatile hairstyles you can do. I have always loved it and I still do. Maybe even more now. Like the rest of the family, Mary was also wearing a medal on the left side of her chest. It is a medal made on occasion of the Queen's 75th birthday. Five years ago, on her 70th birthday, a medal was also made.

Frederik and Mary's two princesses -Isabella and Josephine- were also dressed in lovely blue dresses as their mother. They even wore similar dressed to each other from Pili Carrera. The Crown Prince dazzled in a dark blue suit, while his two sons looked handsome in matching grey suits. A lovely family in blue!

Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary on a carriage ride in Copenhagen

Much has been planned for the when the Queen turned 75 years old. She was even celebrated with for a whole day in Aarhus with a concert in the evening, a few weeks ago. After the balcony scene, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary joined the Queen for a carriage ride in Copenhagen. Prince Henrik was suppose to join her but because of illness, he was not the one next to her. Instead the Queen enjoyed the trip along with her oldest son and his wife. All three of them seemed to enjoy every single moment of the ride. Later on the Crown Prince couple and Queen Margrethe visited Copenhagen City Hall. Here the Queen was celebrated with choir, music, speeches and gifts. The three royal members also showed up on the City Hall balcony.

On the carriage ride Mary was wearing the same Oscar de la Renta coat as seen on the balcony earlier in the morning. She embraced the style by wearing a new grey hat identified by the owner of Treasures & Tiaras as Jane Taylor. Actually, the hat has been seen once before, just not on Mary. It was last seen on Zara Philips Tindal in 2014, here. Who wore it better? And what a perfect match to the grey suede Gianvito Rossi pumps! Even gloves and navy blue shawl perfectly matched the rest of her outfit. Also the grey suede Hugo Boss clutch looks just great with everything. I also noticed a bracelet on her right arm, which I did not see when she was on the balcony. To me it looks new. Both Hartmann's earrings and diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen have been seen multiple times before, but every time it looks new. I am amazed how she manages to keep everything look new also if we have seen her wear it a million times before. What stunned me most about her outfit, is the fact how well navy blue and grey looks together. Am I right? I cannot wait to try something similar myself. I wonder how much she use her stylist these days?

Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary attending dinner at Fredensborg Palce

Around 230 guests were specially invited to dinner at Fredensborg castle to celebrate Queen Margrethe's 75th birthday. 230! I have no idea how to gather all these people, but as Queen I'm sure it was no problem at all. John Donaldson, Mary's father was one of the guests who attended the dinner. The guests arrived to Fredensborg at around 7:00 pm. local time and about one hour later the royal family members arrived as the last ones. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary even arrived a little late. The dinner was private and pictures were only taken at the arrival. I perfectly understand that such an arrangement is kept private and behind closed doors. Luckily, we got a lot of pictures from the arrival, which also were broadcasted live on Danish television. I was glued to the screen when the Crown Prince couple showed up and what a sight!

I was so sure that Mary would wear her red evening gown from when she was married 11 years ago, so I was very surprised to see her in a brand new silver gown! The most incredible evening gown featuring long puffy sleeves, a brooch detail and cute-outs at front. The silhouette is rather slim and looks just great on her. She really has the body to wear a dress like this, don't you think? The amazing wonder has been found by one of my fantastic readers at Temperley London. A designer I haven't thought about at all. Like earlier today she wore her grey suede Gianvito Rossi pumps, a new silver clutch and Marianne Dulong jewellery. I love how simple everything is, even her hairstyle. Really girls, it is a ponytail for a gala dinner with 230 guests and Mary's hair is in a ponytail? It just looks absolutely gorgeous. Nail polish and lips matched in the same berry red colour. My three words to describe what I see: polished, fashionable and stylish!

April 9, 1940

Thursday, April 9th

Crown Princess Mary attended a ceremony to honor those who lost somehow was part of the second world war. The ceremony took place at Søgårdlejeren in Aabenraa.

Jv.dk

The Crown Princess arrived to Søgårdlejeren in Aabenraa in a good mood. All relaxed and comfortable. The reason for her visit is on occasions of the 75th "anniversary" for when Denmark was occupied by Germany during the second world war. It was on April 9th 1940. I think it's remarkable that Mary takes the time to commemorate Denmark's ancestors. We all have ancestors how has experienced the war. The day is an important part of our history and it means a lot to many Danes to remember the day that changed the country also subsequently. It makes me prove to have a Crown Princess who thinks of others. Not many things bring the Danes together but a historical day like this does, such as the Royal family. The day also reminds us all that we live in a more or less peaceful world. The Crown Princess placed a wreath to honor those we lost or got missing during the war.

Mary was, very appropriately, dressed in black and grey accessories. For me it looks like a old reused coat with some kind of embroidered floral pattern -maybe a jacquard pattern. And I was right about the coat; it is a reused. She wore it when she was pregnant with Princess Isabella in 2007, here, and at a reburial of Queen Dagmar later on, here. Thanks to a good friend of mine you get two events with her wearing it. Then the amazing grey hat! I do not know if it was made asymmetric to be on the side of her head, but to me it looks polished. Milliner Susanne Juul might be the creator. It was at the opening of the Parliament in 2009 that Mary wore the exact same coat with the hat, here. I wrongly identified her grey pumps as Gianvito Rossi a few posts ago. Because with a closer look at them I noticed a golden detail around the heel. After a while I came across a model from Rupert Sanderson and it seems like the "golden heel" is something he is known to use. Then there is her patent grey clutch which to me looks like Prada. Then there is the little brooch worn on the coat. This little wonder is from the Danish designer Elise Gug

Watching 'Tosca' in the Opera

Sunday, October 12th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary watched the opera Tosca in the Opera, Copenhagen.

Princessesblog76.blogspot.com

Really, the Cron Princess is so busy these days. Sorry that my posts are a little delayed, but I have much to do right now. Luckily, I have patient readers that have the time to wait for my posts. Well, Frederik and Mary spend their afternoon together at the Opera in Copenhagen watching Tosca. It was first played back in 1910 and multiple times after, as  back in 2006 and 2011. Now the opera is performed all over again because of the major success and this time the Crown Prince couple were invited as guests of honor. The Opera is placed right across Frederik VIIIs palace with only a canal separating them, which is why they went for a little walk before the little boat trip. Something I really never get tired of. Both seemed in a wonderful mood. The couple were quite popular a both sides of the canal. I have the feeling this more like a private evening for the two of them, than a public event in their official calendar. But it was. Leaving the Opera I sense they had enjoyed the evening watching Tosca.

White Frederik was in a classy suit, his wife was dressed in an elegant white and navy blue outfit. I love when Mary wears that navy blue colour. It makes her look so beautiful and as usual then it was a very well-done outfit with all it takes! Everything matched perfectly. A detail that made her look even more stunning the diamond earrings from Marianne Dulong featuring blue pendants which can be changed, but this time she had chosen a pair of blue drop shaped stones. Over that navy blue Prada dress, she wore a white Prada jacket with large white buttons. It’s a jacket we have seen her wear several times before and if I’m right also with this specific dress. Since we saw the dress the first time so many people have been looking almost everywhere to find it, including myself. After a while she once showed up in a similar dress but without the peplum around the waist. Some guessed that she might had been altered but I do not believe in that. It’s not something Mary does often with ready-to-wear pieces like this one. And actually I was right; the dress is not altered. It comes with a detachable peplum. As simple as that the mystery has been solved about the two similar dresses. Two other accessories perfectly matching the rest of the blue outfit, is the Rupert Sanderson pumps and a clutch from Quidam. First I had Carlend Copenhagen in mind but quickly I found out that is was not correct. Pernille is the reason why her Quidam clutch has been found.

400th anniversary concert for the Army

Wednesday, September 24th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended a gala concert on the occasion of the Army's 400th anniversary of the Opera, Copenhagen. Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik, Prince Joachim and Princess Benedikte also attended from the Danish royal family.

It was along with over 300 special invited guests, that five members of the Danish royal family were invited to attend the celebration of the Army's 400th anniversary. On this occasion a gala concert was held in the Opera, Copenhagen. One by one, arrived the royal guests to the Opera and were warmly welcomed. It was a rather cold evening, so a warm welcoming ceremony was differently needed. Still, they all seemed in a splendid mood at the arrival. You may wonder why Prince Joachim was going on his own without his wife, but the fact is that Princess Marie was on official visit in New York. The concert lasted over three hours and I'm sure they all had a great evening.

Although it was a windy and cold evening when the royal family arrived, Mary had decided to wear a knee-length floral Dolce & Gabbana dress featuring beautiful red and white flowers. We have seen it once before, here, at a 80th birthday. No way better then matching the dress with red ruby jewellery from Queen Ingrid's ruby parure -a rudy red bracelet and earrings also featuring diamonds. Don't you think it looks just incredible with the floral dress? It is not often we see Mary wearing nail polish, but in honor of the occasion she had chosen a love burgundy colour. Because of the weather, she kept warm in rather large black shawl over the shoulders and in her hand she wore a little black clutch. Still not identified. Then of course we have the black pointed pumps which are from Rupert Sanderson. The shape is simply smashing! I truly understand if the Crown Prince was proud of his wife, because she looked outstanding next to him who was in his green uniform.

The Carlsberg Foundation's Research Award 2014

Tuesday, September 9th

Crown Princess Mary attended the presentation of the Carlsberg Foundation's Research Awards 2014 at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Copenhagen.

To receive an award is one thing, but to receive it from the Crown Princess of Denmark herself has to be one big honor. Don't know if I will ever get the change, maybe one day it is me you see on the stage next to Mary. Well, that's not what this is all about, though it has something to do with an award because Mary attended the presentation of Carlsberg Foundation's Research Awards 2014. In a great mood the Crown Princess arrived to Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen. One day I have to see the place on my own, the building i just beautiful. Almost magical. A few speeches were given and then it was time for Mary and Carlsberg Foundation Chairman Flemming Besenbacher to enter the stage and hand over the awards. The winner were found: Professor Gitte Mood Knudsen, from Copenhagen University Hospital and Professor, Doctor of Philosophy Jesper Ryberg from Roskilde University. Congratulations to them both! After the presentation, some more speeches and a few pictures a dinner took place which Mary also attended. Music was played during the dinner. Certainly a day to remember.

Seems like blue is her favourite colours these days, but I love it. Always adored that navy blue colour and it looks so beautiful with her porcelain skin and dark brown hair. A trendy colour used by almost every designer right now. At the presentation she was dressed in a brilliant floral printed dress from Erdem, first seen in 2013. At that time worn with blue earrings and blue pumps, just like this time. She matched her outfit with stunning aquamarine earrings from Annitkat. The navy Rupert Sanderson pumps completed the look in a great way. In their own stylish way because of the classic design and shape. A match made in heaven with that red Carlend Copenhagen clutch! Immediately my eyes were drawn to the clutch when I first noticed it. Somehow Mary always manages to surprise me, one way or another and she certainly did with this outfit. She is never afraid of trying something new, wear colours and prints. Really, who does not love that clutch with that dress? I also love how the dress is all figure hugging and then her hair looks so voluminous and curly. Looks just great!

The World in the Viking Age

Crown Princess Mary attend the exhibition The world in the viking age (Verden i Vikingetiden) at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde.

On the trail of the world in the Viking Age
It's Søren M. Sindbæk, Ph.D., associate professor, Department of Culture and Society at Aarhus University, who lectures on the exciting international research and new archaeological discoveries made in relation to the world the Vikings at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde. The Vikings are known for their movements across the sea, both as trade men but also more barbaric who took on raid. This and much more you can experience at the Viking Ship Museum. You find more information here.

When you ask a foreigner to tell something they know about Denmark and Danes, I'm sure most of them would mention the Viking's, how they looted everywhere they came. They are known as barbaric, even in Denmark that's how they are referred to. Something we might forget is the fact that the Viking's also were great trade men who sailed across the ocean. At this time in history, the Viking's are known for their incredible sailing abilities in new long boats with space for many men. Archaeologists have already studied the Viking's for centuries but for every year we seems to get even more knowledgeable on the world in the Viking age. With focus on boats, trade routes etc. the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde exhibits a special exhibition and who to invite as guest of honor? Of course Crown Princess Mary. She arrived to Roskilde to attended the opening of the Viking Ship Museums new exhibition. She was given flowers at the arrival and was warmly welcomed by employees working at the museum. Surrounded by hundreds years old Viking ships, Mary entered the stage and gave her speech. Music was prepared as entertainment followed by a guided tour for the Crown Princess who with great interest listened to what she was told about the ship museums, the ships, some history about the Viking's and the world in the Viking age. I never had the chance to visit the museum yet but I would really like to. It's kinda of a bubble of history, where you get close to Denmark's history as well as history of the world.

When Mary arrived to Roskilde the weather wasn't really that good, despite that she looked incredible stylish in her dark coat and matching accessories. She wasn't that much of a Viking looking like this! A-line coats as this one should be in every women's wardrobe because it is a fantastic and rather simple way to look stunning. Luckily there are millions of designs to choose the one you like. Mary often wears clothes as well as coats we probably wouldn't choose. Because of that I believe she has become a timeless icon. At the opening she wore one of her old goodies, a blue and brown Prada coat featuring lots of interesting details. Matching both rest of the outfit and the poster from the exhibition, she wore these dazzling patent leather pumps from designer Rupert Sanderson. At first I thought L.K. Bennett was the designer but with pictures from the opening of this new exhibition I realized they had not much in comment. The reason was quite simple, because it was the wrong designer. I adore the shape and colour of these pumps! Not to forget the stunning, and really expensive, Quidam clutch identified by my dear friend Pernille. She told me that she stumbled across the clutch in a magazine and immediately knew it was the one we all were searching for. Thanks to her we now know who created this little wonder! From four different, Danish, jewellery designers Mary accessorized her outfit with four different pieces of jewellery: Jewlscph earrings which is new by the way, two bracelets from Shamballa Jewels and Marianne Dulong and diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Specking of which I think her new earrings are really beautiful but maybe a little too much for this outfit. What do you think?
