University of Copenhagen's annual party 2024

08 November 2024

University of Copenhagen dates back to 1479. Each year the foundation is celebrated with an annual party.

This year, Queen Mary was invited as guest of honor to attend the celebration. She was welcomed by Henrik C. Wegener, Rector of University of Copenhagen and Chairman Merete Eldrup. In 2021, the Queen also attended the annual party. Back then as Crown Princess of Denmark.

Students who have won a gold or silver medal for their answers to prize-winning assignments received medals along with a travel scholarship from the Ib Henriksen Foundation and a scholarship from the University of Copenhagen.

Once again, Mary impressed me with what she was wearing at the celebration. I always loved the green Beulah London dress. The details are delicate, elegant and understated. Mary first wore the dress at the inauguration of Campus Horsens in 2021 and again at Flag Day in 2022. She matched the dress with the same green snakeskin belt as in 2022. The stunning brown woolen cape is a reuse from Oscar de la Renta.

This time, Mary had chosen the most incredible custom-made Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen earrings. Love the fine touch of color. The bracelet is a beloved Dulong Fine Jewelry creation made of black South sea pearls.

Her green snakeskin clutch from Carlend Copenhagen, hasn't got enough attention. It is so beautiful! A perfect match with the dress and belt. It goes back to 2014 at the presentation of the Brain Prize. I am always impressed by her ability to find similar colored accessories.

Her chic pumps are from Gianvito Rossi.

Day 1. Official state visit from Iceland

08 October 2024

Welcoming

Queen Mary just arrived home from a four-days visit to Brazil. A couple of days later, her and King Frederik are hosting an official state visit from Iceland's President Halla Tómasdóttir and her husband Björn Skúlason. They will stay in Denmark from October 8-9th.

King Frederik and Queen Mary welcomed the President and Björn Skúlason at the harbor of Nordre Toldbod in Copenhagen. The four of them accompanied each other for a visit at Kastellet - a war memorial. The honored soldiers and their families with a wreath.

Before visiting the Icelandic cultural center Jónshús in Copenhagen, the couple were officially welcomed at Amalienborg. In the afternoon, the royal couple and the Presidentail couple visited the Arnamagnean Collection at University of Copenhagen.

Mary looked absolutely splendid when welcoming Iceland's President Halla Tómasdóttir and her husband Björn Skúlason. She wore a reused purple dress created by Danish designer Søren Le Schmidt. The details are magnificent! Mary first wore this stunning dress in 2023 when attending the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Back then, she styled the dress with a custom-made headpiece from Jane Taylor. On October 8th, she wore the same piece but without the vail.

Somehow, her fine little Amethyst necklace caught all the attention. I get it. The necklace is indeed beautiful and we haven't seen it for many years. Yes, she has worn it before. Mary first wore the Hugo Grun necklace when honored being new patron of the Kidney Association in June 2005. Then again in October 2005. She even wore it for official photos when Crown Prince Christian was born. Last but not least, Mary wore the necklace in 2009.

Mary also embraced the outfit with a lovely Carlend Copenhagen clutch and dusty rose patent pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

Banquet at Amalienborg

In the evening, the royal couple hosted a banquet in honor of the Icelandic Presidential couple visiting Denmark. The dinner took place at Christiansborg Castle.

Princess Benedikte also attended the prestiges banquet such as members of the Danish Government, representatives from Danish and Icelandic businesses, culture and sports. The Icelandic business delegation and representatives from the Danish court were also invited.

Both President Halla Tómasdóttir and King Frederik gave a speech at the banquet.

I like the idea of mixing and matching, new and old. Adore the midnight blue outfit and shiny diamond jewellery. Somehow, I'm still a bit confused. Both the Jesper Høvring top and ruffle Oscar de la Renta skirt are outstanding but I'm not in love with the combo. What was your first reaction? I'd really like to hear you out on this one.

Mary beautifully accessorized her evening outfit with the Danish Pearl Poiré Parure previously worn by Queen Margrethe. The Court Jeweller has this great article about the parure if you would like to know a bit more about the history of the tiara. Mary also wore stunning diamond earrings previously owned by Anne of Orange and the smashing Rivière diamond necklace.

She matched the look with an old satin box clutch from Prada and suede pumps from Jimmy Choo.

Day 2.

Official state visit to Sweden

07 May 2024

A day in Stockholm

From the morning, King Frederik accompanied King Carl Gustaf when visiting Stockholm's amphibious regiment. Among others, they were given a guided tour on HMS Helsingborg and had a chat with some of the Swedish regiments divers.

Around noon, Queen Mary and Queen Sonja visited the museum 'Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde'. Prince Eugen of Sweden was an artist and great art collector. After his death, his home was transformed to a museum.

The couple had lunch at Stockholm's Stadshus, followed by a visit at Forskaren (a new life science center in Sweden) and Nodriska Muséet. Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia also attended the lunch at Stadshus.

My heart sings when Mary is wearing something red! The color looks amazing on her with her fair skin and dark brown hair. Birgit Hallstein tailored her dazzling bright red dress. The details are exquisite. Her light brown wool-blend cape from Oscar de la Renta was a perfect match.

Mary accessorized her beautiful outfit with plenty of jewellery: earrings, a brooch and a bracelet from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Necklaces from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. Another bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

Anya Hindmarch is the designer of her brand new soft brown leather handbag. I am breathless. The shape. The color. Everything is outstanding about this new little bag. The same goes with the red suede Gianvito Rossi pumps.

Return reception at Dannebrog

After two great days in Sweden, King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a return event at the royal ship Danneborg for King Carl Gustaf and Queen Sonja.

Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia also attended the reception, along with Princess Christina.

The Swedish King and Queen then hosted a final gathering at Kungliga Slottet.

Mary was beautifully dressed in a reused printed Saloni dress and later a fine white JOSEPH coat. She wore the dress last year at the presentation of the annual Christmas Stamp in November. Stunning details!

She embraced the style with shimmery golden diamond earrings from Rebekka Notkin. Worn at a number of different occasions. On a business promotion visit in Norway, a state visit in South Korea and when attending the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako in 2019. We also glimpse an Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen bracelet.

The gorgeous bordeaux suede pumps are Gianvito Rossi and the matching clutch is an old one from Hugo Boss.

Queen Margrethe's 50th anniversary

14 January

Celebrating Queen Margrethe's anniversary

For months, we have waited to celebrate the Queen on her very special day. Her 50th anniversary as Queen of Denmark. Today, it is 50 years since Crown Princess Margrethe became Queen Margrethe after her father, King Frederik IX, passed away 72 years old.

Many events were planned to take place on occasion anniversary, but due to the current situation with the pandemic, much of this has been cancelled or set for another date. But no anniversary without any celebrations. So, around noon, the royal family arrived to Folketinget at Christiansborg to receive the Governments celebration. Both Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte attended the celebration at Christiansorg.

Later on, the family was driven by train to Roskilde to visit the grave of the Queen's parents, King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid at Roskilde Cathedral. Each of the couple's girls laid a personal coloured wreath. Queen Margrethe a blue one, Princess Benedikte a pink wreath and Princess Anne-Marie a yellow one. The Crown Prince Couple and Prince Joachim and Princess Marie also laid a wreath.

All of them, were beautifully dressed for the occasion. The Queen in her light blue suit, Princess Benedikte in purple, Princess Marie pastel green and Mary in a lovely light brown. Personally, I really like Princess Benedikte's outfit. She looks beautiful in that dark purple colour.

Mary was in a brand new Gabriela Hearst dress. I learned about this from Heaven, who was able to identify this stunning dress. Underneath, she wore a white blouse. I am not sure this is a perfect combination, but I guess it could be because of the weather. The wind is still pretty cold. In Roskilde she added another layer: a new woolen cardigan and a reused light brown cape. Mary has worn the cape before, when visiting Rødding Højskole on occasion of its 175th anniversary in 2019 (here). It is from Oscar de la Renta.

Mary matched her beautiful, vintage vibe, outfit with an old Jane Taylor hat. She first wore it, when the Belgium King and Queen visited Denmark in 2017 (here). I really like the style of it with the rest of her outfit. Looks super stylish. Maybe she honored Queen Ingrid by wearing the Ruby Parure earrings for the event? And also the later added ruby ring created by Dulong Fine Jewelry. I think it was a lovely gesture. The large white pearl necklace was a great detail as well.

She loves wearing these "monochrome" outfits. Matching clothes with matching accessories. That was also the case on January 14th. Mary embraced her look with both a Prada handbag and a Naledi Copenhagen clutch. Also the nude Prada pumps matched perfectly!

Private dinner at Amalienborg

As mentioned before, many different event and dinners had been planned to celebrate the Queen on her anniversary, but much of it has also been cancelled or given another date. This is why, I love it even more that the family celebrated the day with a private dinner at Amalienborg. Both the Crown Prince family and Prince Joachim and Princess Marie and their children attended - also Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix were prensent of their grandmother's day of celebration. Princess Benedikte was also there to honor her sister.

Before the dinner took place, the royal family captured a memory from the evening with a photo. Queen Margrethe and all of her family.

Black was obviously a hit at the dinner. Most of them, wore either black dresses or suits, but not Mary. She rocked a brand new purple wrap blouse and black trousers. This could also be a jumpsuit, which I think is very likely. Lately, she is fond of jumpsuits for "dress-events". The blouse is also kinda short, which could indicate it being a jumpsuit.

Mary was wearing long diamond earrings as accessory. They feature a purple Amethyst in a shape of a drop. A beautiful match. She has worn these earrings on many occasions before. Like in 2018 at the 100th anniversary of Iceland's sovereignty (here). Mary was also a necklace. To me it looks brand new. I still do not know where it is from. The new official photo revealed that she embraced the style by wearing black suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

Repremiere of "The Snow Queen"

01 December

It is no secret that Queen Margrethe loves to be creative and it is no secret that she loves ballet. Over the years, she has been engaged in numerous ballets. Both in making costumes and scenography. The same happened with the famous "Snow Queen" - a classic Christmas ballet. It had its repremiere in Tivoli on December 1st.

Crown Princess Mary showed up at the premiere accompanied by Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine even though it was not part of her official calendar. Of course they all wanted to support their beloved mother-in-law and grandmother. Prince Felix also supported his grandmother with the premiere by showing up.

I am not sure I will ever been a huge fan of wearing boots with long skirts or dresses. For some years, Mary has done that. Usually, I fall in love with everything she wears and all combinations, but somehow not this one. Nevertheless, I like both boots and outfit.

She matched her new black heeled ankle boots with an old Oscar de la Renta dress. One we first thought was a blouse. It turned out to be completely wrong. I learned about this "little detail" from Heaven. Thanks for making be aware of this. It features some really beautiful details. Like the beaded neckline. She first wore the dress at the inauguration of a new panda plant in April 2019, here. The white JOSEPH coat is also a reuse first worn at a new year reception in 2020, here.

As accessories, Mary had chosen simple white pearl earrings. I think we have seen then before (here), but I have never been able to identify them. We also get a glimpse of her diamond band from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. The black leather gloves and black Diane Von Furstenberg clutch are a lovely detail. Their beautiful umbrella's are TIVOLI's own design.

Rødding Højskole's 175th anniversary

07 November

Crown Princess Mary arrived in a splendid mood and was warmly welcomed in Rødding where she was about to attend the 175th birthday anniversary of Rødding Højskole. This makes it one of the oldest folk high school in Denmark. Mads Rykind-Eriksen, the Principal of Rødding Højskole welcomed her with smiles and a friendly handshake. He was also the one showing her around the school.

Rødding Collage has always, and still is, all about education and formation which is based on Grundtvig's thoughts on life and public education. Nicolai Frederik Severin Grundtvig was, among other things, a Danish author, theologian, philosopher and pastor.

The anniversary was also celebrated with lots of speeches hel by Elsebeth Gerner Nielsen, Chairwoman of the Association of the Folk High Schools in Denmark and Principal, Mads Rykind-Eriksen and some of the students also entered the stage and shared a few words on occasion of the birthday celebration. The Crown Princess was also meeting with some of the students, who proudly showed her their current projects that they were working on.

She was one big smile while attending the birthday celebration of Rødding Højskole in Rødding. Mary had chosen the most wonderful and stylish outfit. The skirt was first worn earlier this year at a, more or less, private event - the opening of Prince Nikolaos of Greece's exhibition Celestial Choreography exhibited in Rundetårn in Copenhagen, here. At that time no one knew a thing about the woolen midi skirt, but we all loved it. Now Elena managed to identify the skirt. It comes from a brand called Giuliva Heritage Collection. The skirt is really an amazing match with the skirt. It is a Oscar de la Renta design as I assumed.

Mary embraced the chic outfit by wearing a reused knitted blouse from CO. It features the mode incredible details. Especially the neck and sleeves have made me want something like this too. One day I hope we will see her wear this blouse with a pair of wide-legged trousers. She also accessorized the looks with stunning white pearl jewellery - earrings and a bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry. That same designer created two of there other bracelets and that stunning diamond ring.

She was also wearing two other bracelets. The massive golden bangle is her love bracelet from Cartier and the second one is a delicate pieces featuring diamonds from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. To match the rest of her outfit Mary wore a beige ostrich clutch from Naledi Copenhagen and python pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Both pieces of accessory have been worn on several previous occasions. The rather large beaded brooch is still unidentified.

Inauguration of the new panda plant

10 April

In 2014 Queen Margrethe received a very special and unique gift from China's President - two pandas. They have now arrived to Denmark in their new resident in the Zoo in Copenhagen. Queen Margrethe participated the inauguration of the new panda plant accompanied by her daughter-in-law, Crown Princess Mary.

Both of them arrived to the Zoo in a splendid mood. They were welcomed with flowers, handshakes and smiles. The Queen officially opened the panda plant by cutting the traditional red ribbon. She got a large smile on her face when the bow almost flew off by itself. It was great amusement for all of them.

Later on the two royal women were given a guided tour around in the panda plant by, among others, architect Bjarke Ingels, who designed the facility. The Crown Princess also made a few pictures herself - maybe to show her children

April weather in Denmark is a mix of rain, sun, wind and snow. One day it's sunny. The next day it's rainy. On Wednesday evening it was cold and cloudy. Both Queen Margrethe and Mary were dressed up wearing warm coats and gloves. I truly understand why. The Queen wore a beautiful white wool-blend coat, a bright red jacket underneath and black accessories.

Mary embraced the style at the inauguration by wearing her blue Strenesse coat. The coat was first seen on an official visit to Latvia in December last year, here. It comes with a matching skirt which was also worn in Latvia. This time she had chosen a black dress. Heaven managed to identify her brand new dress as Oscar de la Renta. It features a lovely white pearl neckline. Did you see that?

She accessories the look with old diamond and white pearl earrings. She has worn them a couple of times before, but I have not yet found out where they are from. The black suede Jimmy Choo pumps, leather gloves and Quidam clutch perfectly matched her outfit. The pumps was first worn on a business and cultural promotion visit in Texas back in March, here. What an edgy and chic outfit!

Opening of the Danish Parliament 2018

Tuesday, October 2nd

It is that time a year: the annual opening of the Danish Parliament. Every year, the first Tuesday in October, members of the Parliament (officially) come back from vacation. It is also time to inaugurate a new year for Folketinget. All that is celebrated with a grand opening at Christiansborg Castle in Copenhagen. Half of the castle act like home for the Danish Parliament and the other half is room for gala dinners, state visits, etc. As a tradition the Danish royal family was also invited to attend the opening.

First Princess Benedikte arrived to Christiansborg, shortly followed by Prince Joachim and Princess Marie. Then the Crown Prince couple arrived and last Queen Margrethe was welcomed. All four women were welcomed with beautiful bouquet of flowers. The family greeted with kisses and smiles.

Everybody raises for the Queen when she finds her seat on the balcony next to her oldest son. Surrounded by her two sons, both daughters-in-law and her sister the Queen watched the opening of the Parliament 2018.

Annual events are always something I look forward to. Makes a great possibility to compare outfits. I can't help myself from comparing Mary's outfit from yesterday with previous looks. Honestly I had expected something completely else. More like the outfit worn by her sister-in-law. Knee-length coat, pointed pumps and some kind of fancy hat. That is not what we got.

Instead Mary was wearing a brand new tweed skirt, black double breasted jacket and matching accessories. What caught my eyes first is by no doubt her new skirt. I was not the only one (hysterically) trying to identify the designer. I had different brands in mind. Non of them matched. Late last night I learned from Heaven that Le style de Mary, here, had managed to find what everybody else was looking for. Mary's new skirt is from Oscar de la Renta. Do you like it?

As mentioned, she matched the skirt with a before unseen double breasted jacket. A reader shared its identity with my - it is from Andiata (collection: AW18) She embraced the style by wearing a couple of black accessories. First we have a velvet hat made by milliner Susanne Juul (it has been confirmed by the designer herself), an expensive leather clutch from Quidam and classy black heels from Gianvito Rossi. Somehow I do not recall if we have seen these pumps before or if they could be new. She has so many pairs of black pumps that I have a hard time recalling all of them.

She also accessorized her look with ruby earrings, diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and a golden Dulong Fine Jewelry bracelet. Such as the beautiful diamond necklace from Tiffany. What a treat.

The Crown Prince couple & the Icelandic Presidential couple during their day in Copenhagen

Day two is here. After yesterday's list of events, I think the Icelandic Presidential couple were looking very much forward to one more day in Copenhagen, before leaving Denmark the following day. Arriving to Denmark the Presidential couple shared their experiences with Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik. Day two they shared, most of the time, accompanied by Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary. I was thrilled when I found out that Frederik and Mary would accompany the President and his wife during their second day here in Denmark. From around 9:00 am till 12:00 pm. local time, Mrs Eliza Jean Reid joined Mary and H.E. Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson spend some time along with the Crown Princess. Among others, Mary and the First Lady attended a meeting with the Mary Foundation as the first thing in the morning followed by a visit to the kindergarden Tante Olgas Børnehus. Meanwhile the Crown Prince and Icelandic President were present at a seminar on innovation and sustainability at Danish Industry, also in Copenhagen. At noon the two "teams" met to have some lunch at Hotel and Restaurant School. Pictures clearly shows them having a great time together! Before the dinner in the evening, the Presidential couple payed several places in Copenhagen a visit on their own.

Please not that the program above is not complete. It only shows the events the Crown Prince couple attended.

I am overwhelmed who Mary always keep surprising me when it comes to outfits! I have no idea how she does it. Or maybe am I too easily impressed? Nevertheless, I am impressed (that even rhymed). Since the first time we saw her in that Oscar de la Renta dress I have been in love with it. The shape is magnificent. One thing that bothered me was the colours, but the way she styles it this time I adore the colours too. So inspiring to see how to mix and match both new and reused items and colours. Danes sometimes are a bit afraid of colours (including me), but Mary makes me wanna try all kind of matches with prints, patterns and colours. From what I know then her coat is new. Had a strong feeling that it was a Prada design and now I have a proof, here. Beautifully she had chosen to wear accessories in burgundy. Gloves, suede belt, clutch and of course pumps were all in that incredibly stunning colour. The Hugo Boss clutch has been seen at several occasions before this such as the pointed Gianvito Rossi pumps. I have come to love Rossi's design more and more! Just a little funny thing to share, then she wore the belt here in 2015. As jewellery she wore diamond earrings from Hartmanns and three diamond rings where two of them are from  Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Such a beautiful outfit.

The Crown Prince couple attending the Presidential couple's dinner on occasion of the state visit

At 7:00 pm. local time, it was time for dinner. It was hosted by the Icelandic Presidential couple, H.E. Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson and Mrs Eliza Jean Reid in honor of the Queen and her husband. The return dinner is a tradition for both the hosting couple and the visiting couple. When Frederik and Mary are abroad somewhere in the world on an official state visit, they also host a return dinner the day before going back to Denmark. Never mind, back to the dinner in Copenhagen. It was taking place at North Atlantic Quay. Not only did the Crown Prince couple attend, also Prince Joachim and his wife Princess Marie and (of course) the Queen attended too. At the arrival everybody were warmly welcomed by the Icelandic Presidential couple, who really seemed to have been looking forward to this evening. Maybe it is a bit wrong calling it at dinner, it was more a reception really. The President gave a speech when everyone had arrived, where he among others thanked the Queen Margrethe for a couple of wonderful days.

Reception outfits are something Mary has had many years to practice and she has become really good at it. For sure the Crown Princess won my heart all over again. She was dressed in that smashing red lace dress from Dolce & Gabbana, worn once before the reception at North Atlantic Quay. It looks as magnificent as the first time. As a cape she was wearing her white Prada coat at the arrival, which was later taken off. Beautifully she accessorized the dress by wearing an embellished belt. Differently not something we have seen before. Now when we have a close up of her belt, here, it was possible to find out where it's from. I had Dolce & Gabbana in mind all along, but somehow I never looked to see if I could find it there. With a little belt and a quick search her belt has now been identify as the same designer as the dress. Matching both colour of the dress and belt (and berry lips), Mary had chosen a brand new Carlend Copenhagen clutch in burned orange. Even Frederik's tie matched his wife! The smashing golden earrings are from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Just like early during the day she wore diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. To make her outfit even more complete we have the beige Prada pumps. What else to say than outstanding!

'The Nutcracker' in Tivoli

Thursday, December 1st

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended the premiere of the ballet The Nutcracker along with their four children.

What a lovely surprise! I was not aware that the royal family would attend the ballet premiere of The Nutcracker but it is just a wonderful 1st December gift for all of us. Queen Margrethe has been involved in the scenography and has designed all costumes, which by the way is not the first time. Nor is it the first time Queen Margrethe has invited the royal royal couple and their children to see the Christmas ballet. This year all four children attended along with their parents. The ballet took place in Tivoli Concert Hall. Also Countess Alexandra, her youngest son Prince Felix and his brother Prince Henrik were present such as Queen Anne-Marie. I wonder why Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and of course Princess Athena were not attending too? Well, the royal family members arrived around 7 pm. local time and clearly they had a great -even before the ballet started. I am sure they enjoyed the beautifully Christmas decorated Tivoli. The Queen entered the stage after the performance and the audience loved it!

It feels like a year since we have seen Mary and it's really just a week or so. But I have lost sense of reality the last week. So I am thrilled to see her at this unofficial event. With just this one outfit I am already inspired to do something similar on my own. In the dark Mary dazzled in a reused caramel coloured Oscar de la Renta coat. A splendid colour this time a year. Last time we saw it was at King Carl Gustav's 70th birthday celebration in April, hereNo doubt that I'm excited to it again. And my increased heartbeat does not end here because she was wearing both new pumps and a brand new tartan scarf! Never thought we would see her wear anything like this new scarf. Do you like it? I think it looks great combined with the coat. Don't you think? We'll get back to the shoes. A couple of images appeared of her without the coat and to me it differently looks like a new dress featuring some symmetric dots. With help from Heaven the dress has now been identified as Martin Grant. She accessorized her outfit with a Carlend Copenhagen clutch, Jewlscph earrings, a ring and her golden Cartier bracelet. Perfectly matching the multi-colour scarf Mary had red nails and the most amazing berry lips. Simply gorgeous! Now back to the shoes. Also brand new. I do not know if you recognized the style, but I did right away. Valentino! A new pair of rockstud pumps in green! I simply adore these pumps; how a classic pump meet the more edgy rivet is just great. Can't wait to see her wear them again. Note that I finally was able to find them in the right colour. Of course I also have to mention that she was wearing green leather gloves as well.

After all, it is quite a couple of days ago the celebration of King Carl Gustav of Sweden celebrated his 70th birthday. Time has not been on my side until now. I have followed the events closely and are now ready to share everything with you.
Royals from all over the world, were gathered in Sweden to celebrate the kind. From the Danish royal family attended Queen Margrethe, the Crown Prince couple and Princess Benedikte. All of them stayed at Dannebrog, which docked the previous day before the big celebration. From what I know, the Crown Prince couple didn't arrived along with the Queen and her sister. Nevertheless, the couple were in a great mood meeting the press on the red carpet. The couple stood first raw to congratulate the swedish king on his birthday, who arrived along with his beautiful wife Queen Silvia. They really seem to have a great time accompanied by, among others Princess Märtha Louise and Princess Benedikte. The swedish people's celebration was followed by a lunch for friends and family at the town hall in Stockholm. Maybe you even watched it all on TV? When I searched for pictures, I discovered a wonderful moment of the Crown Princess and Princess Estelle (daughter of Princess Victoria of Sweden and Prince Daniel), which was caught on camera. The Crown Princess asked for a picture of her and her goddaughter. Prince Daniel captured the moment. Pictures of her, Crown Princess Victoria, little Prince Oscar and Crown Prince Frederik were also captured on her phone. Couple of days ago, a picture of Prince Daniel, Crown Princess Mary and Jan-Ove Waldner appeared online, here. A day where many new memories were created and captured to remember in the future.

Already from the morning I think we have seen some incredible outfits. Lots of pastel colors. Mary really also impressed me with what she was wearing. Nothing says fashionable, as the right coat. Despite we have seen the exact same outfit at a previous event, when the king and queen of the Netherlands visited Denmark back in 2015, here, I love everything about her look. She rocked it all over again. The wonderful caramel coat is an Oscar de la Renta design and matched everything else perfectly. Surprisingly, Mary didn't wear anything pastel as most of the other invited royal ladies. We never know what to expect from her. A little pastel color would have matched the white Prada (collection: RTW SS15) dress very much. The dress features some great details - red stitching. Love to have seen the dress without the coat for just a minute. With accessory and all I get a 50s vibe, when looking at her outfit. Especially, because of the purple Jane Taylor hat featuring feathers and rhinestones. She embrace the style by wearing purple leather gloves, a Carlend Copenhagen clutch and Christian Louboutin pumps. She even wore a few diamond jewellery and a large brooch. Everything just looked absolutely great.

Before attending the gala dinner at the royal palace in Stockholm the Danish royal family members spend some time on their on at Dannebrog. Probably getting ready for the dinner. At dinner time, the four royals went off board and was met by the most incredible sunny weather. The sun almost kissed their faces. Royalty from both Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium etc. arrived one by one, as well as the royal guests from Denmark. They were all warmly welcomed by the host himself. I haven't been able to find any pictures from inside the palace, but that is probably not etiquette in Sweden. I don't know for sure. We only have pictures from the arrival and welcoming. From everything I have been able to find out, then the Danish royal couple really enjoyed themselves during the evening at the royal palace in Sweden. Bet a fine dinner was served as well as good wine.

Personally, I am always very excited to see what everybody are wearing for a dinner like this. Both Crown Princess Victoria and her sister Princess Madeleine are always beautifully dressed. Non of them are afraid of trying something new and often wears marvelous evening gowns. At the dinner the two royal sisters wore smashing gowns from Elise Saab. And Princess Märtha Louise's gown was stunning with the one should cap sleeve and rather long train. Queen Mathilda of Belgium also wore a magnificent purple gown. I could go on for hours about these dresses. The press announced Queen of the night and to me that can be no-one else than Mary in unexpected floral gown. She wore the most wonderful silk organza gown created by YDE Copenhagen (collection: SS15). The dress features a peplum and cap sleeves, not to mention the beautiful floral print. Anyone who told Mary that this years biggest trend is yellow? She matched this new floral dream with suede Gianvito Rossi pumps and her Yves Saint Laurent clutch. All in yellow. After staring at her dress for about an hour, I came to the conclusion that both hairpiece, earrings and ring are all new and created by one of the most talented jewellery designer we have in Denmark Charlotte Lynggaard from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary attending a ceremony at Kunliga Palace

The following day on May 1st, the Crown Prince couple left Stockholm in the morning to fly back to Denmark after a magnificent birthday celebration for King Carl Gustaf on behalf of his 70th birthday. The couple had spend the night at Dannebrog, as Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte did. Casual dressed and in a great mood, the two of them left the royal yacht. The Crown Princess was wearing her lovely white Temperley London turtleneck sweater and a pair of shades. Her husband impressed in a simple white shirt, a blazer and a blue scarf.
