Børsen's 400th anniversary

26 September 2024

Director of Danish Businesses Brian Mikkelsen and Chairman of Danish Business Jens Mathiesen arrived along with the King and Queen to attend Børsen's 400th anniversary.

On April 16th of this year, the iconic building suffered from a massive fire and due to this fire, the anniversary was held at Moltke´s Palace at Amalienborg.

Earlier that day, King Frederik attended the marking of restoring the destroyed Børsen

Børsen was build from around 1619-1640 and worked as a trade building at the time of King Christian IV. The architecture is by Lorenz van Steenwinckel and Hans van Steenwinckel. The building is known for its magnificent spire, which was also destroyed in the fire in April.

What to wear for an 400th anniversary celebration? - a bespoke Lasse Spangenberg creation of course! Mary looked like a movie star celebrating Børsen. She first wore the dress at the 10th anniversary of the Mary Foundation in 2017. Think the dress could have been made for the occasion. Mary also wore it at a gala dinner in 2018 and in 2023 at King Carl Gustaf's Golden Jubilee.

Mary beautifully styled the dress with a black embellished belt. It is not the first time we see this belt (201520182019, 2022). Love this detail!

Investigating her outfit, I find that she was wearing her beloved 'F'-necklace and a huge diamond ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Mary's is customized from the orignial available to purchase. I like how she matched the dress with Amethyst earrings, a bracelet and elegant find. Think it could be from an auction or presents from her husband.

The fine satin box clutch is a reuse from Prada such as the mesh/suede pumps are old ones from Gianvito Rossi. Overall opinion? - ADORABLE

Research conference in Copenhagen

26 September 2024

Queen Mary attended the annual "Research Conference" hosted by Independant Research Fund Denmark, also known as DFF. The Queen has been patron of the fund since May of this year.

The Independant Research Fund Denmark is a public fund that finances research at an international level and work to strengthening ground-breaking research in Denmark.

Danish Minister of Education and Research Christina Egelund, Chairman of DFF Søren Serritzlew and head of the foundation's secretariat Jesper Risom all welcomed Queen Mary at her arrival.

Christy Anna Hipsley from University of Copenhagen received the title as winner of  "Original Idea of the Year". Queen Mary handed over the award to Christy.

Somehow, this conference has gone "under the radar" to most medias which means we don't really have that many photos from her attendance. Nevertheless, we do have something to work with.

The stunning grey checkered jumpsuit is a reuse from Max Mara. She first wore it at a business promotion visit from Sweden in 2019 and then again at the presentation of the "DI Award" in 2020. The belt is a great detail.

Big question: 2019? 2020? or 2024?

Mary elegantly styled her outfit with a simple ponytail and chic makeup. The fine diamond necklace is from Halberstadt and her diamond bands are creations by Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

About two weeks ago, she wore the very same green Nina Ricci clutch - which is actually a cross-body bag with a removable strap. Mary first wore the clutch in 2016 when visiting the United States. The lovely shark grey suede pumps are from Gianvito Rossi.

On the cover of "Bo Bedre"

26 September 2024

The Danish lifestyle magazine Bo Bedre has had the opportunity to followed the process and construction of the royal couple's new annex at Kancellihuset.

The work of transformning an old workshop building began last year. Special about this establishment it that it is mainly build on sustainable materials.

In June this year, the Queen attended the reveal of a unique dining table made from Tasmanian pine, beech from Fredensborg Castle Park and 14 other types of wood. The idea arose from the work at the old workshop building.

In the interview, Mary wore a comfortable outfit. She styled a plain white linen blouse from Bagutta and an elegant dusty green Apiece Apart maxi skirt. She wore a similar combo when visiting Norway in May and in Zanzibar in 2022.

I have only seen a couple of photos so far but it looks like Mary wore golden earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a couple of necklaces from the same talented designer. The third diamond necklace is Halberstadt. A classy yet casual match of jewellery.

We also get a glimpse of her wearing a pair of woven sandals from Arteana.

Exhibition about the Mary Elizabeth Hospital

25 September 2024

One step closer to the grand opening of the "Mary Elizabeth Hospital". The hospital is estimated to open in about one and a half year in 2026.

Queen Mary attended the opening of a brand new exhibition dedicated to the development of the new hospital.

Director of Danish Industry Lars Sandahl Sørensen, Chairman of Region Hovedstaden Lars Gaardhøj and Director of Rigshospitalet Rasmus Møgelvang all welcomed the Queen at the arrival to Industriens Hus in Copenhagen.

Chairman of Region Hovedstaden Lars Gaardhøj and Director of the project Jesper Erdal both gave a speech as part of the opening. Queen Mary was then given a guided tour around the exhibition. She was given an inside in the buildings architecture, the innovative way of helping patients and the improved treatment at the children's hospital.

I am in chock! Mary died her hair in a lighter chestnut and matched it in color with her outfit. Sight! Autumn has truly arrived in Denmark and the colors need an update. For you who have followed me for some time know that Autumn is my favorite time a year. Especially because of the warmer colors.

Mary wore a reused v-neck blouse from The Fold London. Not that long ago, she wore it at a meeting with the "Queen Mary's Center" in March. The bright color has created a debate. So, let us take it one more time. Once and for all: is it a go or no go?

At first, I was sure Mary was wearing a brand new skirt but after a while I realized that she was in fact wearing an old Alexander McQueen skirt from 2016! She first wore it at the presentation of the Heart Association's Research Award in 2016. Love it then, adore it now. The belt was a clever detail.

She embraced the style with Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and an elegant golden custom-made ring, and her beloved diamond 'F'-necklace.

My only issue with her outfit is the new kitten heels from Jimmy Choo. The burgundy color is EXQUISITE but I am still troubled with the heel. Imagine it with a midi or high heel. Then I would have been convinced. In a heartbeat.

Conference for health care nurses and presentation of the "Teaching Award 2024"

23 September 2024

On Monday, Queen Mary arrived at the Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center in Copenhagen to attended the opening of the conference for health care nurses along with the Mary Foundation. The Queen was welcomed by Susanne Rank Lücke, Chairman of the Professional Association for Health Care Nurses. She was accompanied by Helle Østergaard, Director of the Mary Foundation.

The conference takes place from September 23-24th and gather professionals from all over the country for an update on the health care system and to network through workshops along with presentations from prominent experts in their field. "Violence in the family" was the team of this years conference.

Queen Mary also attended the presentation of the "Teaching Award 2024". When arriving at the Opera, she was warmly welcomed by Minister of Education and Research Christina Egelund.

She was there to honor and congratulate this years 7 award winners, who represent each their profession/education. They receive the "Teaching Award" due to their innovative way of teaching by cases, roleplays and including professionals from businesses.

Mary looked super elegant in a reused outfit. Do you recall when she last wore this soft blue Victoria Beckham blouse and colorful printed Paul & Joe skirt? You are right! When King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway visited Copenhagen in 2023. Actually, Mary also wore this exact combo at the inauguration of Herlev's new Emergency Room and Woman-Child Center in 2021.

This time at the conference and following presentation, she embraced the style by wearing old white South Sea pearl earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a matching custom-made bracelet, such as two golden bangles. She has been wearing these golden bracelets quite a few times lately and I still do not know anything about them. We also get a glimpse of her beloved diamond 'F'-necklace.

The stunning beige pointed pumps are Gianvito Rossi. Mary has worn these pumps at 34 (now 35) times since 2016! Her elegant red Hugo Boss handbag is rather new. It goes back to 2020. The chick glasses are from Gucci.

Reception for participants at the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games

12 September 2024

In end of July and beginning of August, the King and Queen visited Paris, France to attend the Olympic Games 2024 and cheer for the Danish teams.

On September 12th the couple had invited all the Danish participants of the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games to attend a reception at Fredensborg Castle. More than 280 guests attended the 'small gathering' at the orangery for a chat, snack a glass of lemonade.

Princess Benedikte also attended the reception as patron of 'Parasport Denmark'.

Mary looked like a dream at the reception at Fredensborg! She wore my favorite colors in the season of autumn. Burned orange, creamy white, brown, ruffles and golden jewellery. Her elegant dress is a reuse from Zimmermann. Mary first wore this dress at the christening of Prince Gustav Albrecht zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg in 2023. The big question: 2023 or 2024? When outside, she added a (new?) chic white coat.

I love how she matched the dress with that embellished robe belt from Etro. Makes a great match! Perfect with the nude pointed Gianvito Rossi pumps, don't you think?

Mary had chosen one-of-a-king earrings crafted by Dulong Fine Jewelry and a reused brown topaz ring from Georg Jensen. Seems like everyone missed that beautiful ring. She also wore a custom-made bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Just look at those colors!

We get a glimpse of a clutch. It is an old one from Carlend Copenhagen only worn once back in 2017.

Summer tour with Dannebrog

- end of the tour

11 September 2024

Disembark Dannebrog

The King and Queen have enjoyed this summer on board Dannebrog visiting both Sweden, Norway, Greenland and a number of Danish cities - Bornholm, Ærø, Assens and Vejle.

Now the couple are back in Copenhagen and the summer at the royal yacht has ended. It has truly been an incredible summer! Don't you think? What a way to celebrate their first year as ruling couple of Denmark.

First a state visit in Sweden, then Norway followed by a trip to Greenland where the couple were accompanied by Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. They ended this years session by visiting two Danish islands and two cities.

Somehow, I can't decide my opinion about this outfit. I really like her old navy wool-blend The Fold London suit. It's classy, chic and elegant at the same time. The details are outstanding. I'm also in love with the matching new patent leather pumps. Really clever of her to wear shoes in a similar color. Make the outfit look a bit more complete. I'm still on the look for the designer of her new pumps - any ideas?

The slash of green also makes a great combo. The Nina Ricci clutch is actually a cross-body bag with a removable strap. Mary first wore the clutch/bag at a business promotion visit in the United States in 2016. Then again in 2018 at the "World No Tobacco Day" and in Texas in 2019.

I also like the idea of matching the clutch with similar colors from the fine scarf, but the way she wore it as a hair piece, bothers me. For me it's a little too casual for the suit.

Mary styled her outfit with a fine anchor brooch, her beloved Halberstadt necklace and exclusive diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. This combo of diamond rings have been a favorite of hers for many years.

Gala dinner at Amalienborg

In the evening, King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a gala dinner at Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg for the officer of Dannebrog. Queen Margrethe also attended the prestiges dinner.

In Danish, the dinner is actually called a 'Strygemiddag' (stryge dinner). 'Stryge' is when the royal flag is removed from Dannebrog to mark the end of a successful summer tour.

Lately, I think Mary has switched from really classy and elegant outfits to confusing and odd combinations of clothes and accessories. Do you agree? Her outfit at the gala dinner was truly impressive! I always loved the colors of this Erdem dress. Looks amazing next to her fair skin and brown hair.

She first wore the dress 10 years ago at an anniversary event at the Opera on May 23rd 20214. Somehow, I favor her look from 2014 - except from the hairstyle. Her updo at the gala dinner take the lead.

Mary beautifully accessorized the fuchsia dress with stunning diamond and Amethyst earrings and a matching bracelet and ring. Think the earrings are a gift from her husband. The fine satin knot clutch is an iconic design by Bottega Veneta and the smashing purple suede pumps are from Gianvito Rossi.

Flag Day 2024

05 September 2024

Every year on September 5th, we honor those who are or have been missioned abroad. To honor their professional effort in some of the worlds areas of conflict.

The royal couple have been attending the Flag Day for many years. This is their first as King and Queen of Denmark. They attended a ceremony at Kastellet in Copenhagen and honored Danish soldiers who died or are lost in battle with a wreath.

Afterwards, the King and Queen joined a memorial service at Holmens Church.

This is an event that deserves a moment of silence. The course deserves to be the main focus. With Flag Day we honor Danish soldiers sent abroad to fight. Danish soldiers who have died or may be lost in battle. To their friends and families. I don't feel like commeting on style and fashion today. It is about much more important things. Let it speak for itself.

One minute in silence...

Mary looked like a shining star! I always adore this Moss & Spy dress. The detailing are so exquisite and delicate. The lace work is incredible. It is the forth time she wears the dress. First was in 2019 at a business promotion visit in Paris in October. Then at the opening of 'Mind the Music' in 2021 and again in 2023 at an official dinner. Which outfit do you fancy most?

She beautifully accessories her elegant dress with a brand new hairpiece from Ellen Hunter. About now, she owns six of these stunning combs. I bet you, more are coming. Love the combo of soft curls and a little shimmer.

The custom-made Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings are a perfect match. Did you know that these earrings comes with a variety of different pendants? - diamond, rose quartz, amethyst. She also wore fine golden bangles and some other sparkly bracelets.

Midnight blue Gianvito Rossi pumps and a matching blue satin box clutch from Prada. What is not to like? Think this is my favorite outfit worn with this dress.

Meeting with the Advisory Committee

29 August 2024

Queen Mary hosted a meeting for the Queen Mary Centers Advisory Committee at Kancellihuset at Fredensborg.

The meeting was centered around green solutions. One specific project was discussed. It's an initiative to bring scientists and students to work in closer relations with practitioners of green solutions outside of their usual workspace - laboratories and auditoriums.

The Queen Mary Center is all about knowledge through partnerships to create changes.

Mary really did look good in her simple white linen Bagutta blouse and black wide-legged trousers. Can't say anything bad - other than, I wish she would soon wear one of her other blouses. Think we have seen the Bagutta blouses enough at this point. How would you style black trousers?

Nevertheless, I like her casual look. Ponytail, Gucci glasses and golden Dulong Fine Jewelry jewellery. Her choice in jewellery made a comfortable outfit way more stylish. Perfect for a meeting. The shirt diamond necklace is Halberstadt.

I see a second ring featuring a green stone. She has a few similar rings, but I not sure if it's new or reused. The diamond band is Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Imagine she's wear black pumps.
