The royal family's arrival to Dannebrog
The last few days have been very busy and I know I'm way behind keeping up with the updates from their visit to Greenland, something I hope to rectify now. We have to start somewhere, so I think I will be when the royal family arrived to Dannebrog in Copenhagen. They are traveling by ship to visit Greenland something Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik have been during for many years, such as the Queen and her mother and father did back in the old day. Now the tradition has pasted on and it is time for the future King and Queen to make the tradition their own. This is also the first time the Crown Prince couple's four children are visiting Greenland, which I believe they have all been looking forward to with great pleasure.
Arriving to Dannebrog Mary was dressed perfectly in an outfit I would love to wear myself! I am a huge fan of navy blue, sprites and brown leather, exactly what she was wearing. Navy blue and brown always makes a great match. The first thing I noticed was her blue Zara (2012 collection) blazer seen for the first time when Frederik and her visited London to attend the Olympic games. I'm very pleased to see her in it again and with that black and white striped blouse, well nothing could be any better. I strongly believe she's wearing black trousers and not blue as some of you suggested. No matter what colour they are, they look gorgeous with the rest of the outfit especially because of the navy blue suede wedges from L.K. Bennett. Who wouldn't want a pair on their own? I assure you they would look good on my too. Then I mentioned something about brown as well; that's her handmade Ralph Lauren bag I was talking about. Think I see a pair of diamond studs too and possibly also her Shamballa Jewels bracelet. Oh... and of course, that baby blue scarf I still do not know a thing about. A rather simple outfit to try on your own and very inspirational if you need that too for your next look. To me she really nailed it!
Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary in Igaliko
First of all I have to say; it is simply wonderful to see of all of them together on this trip! I think it's great they let the kids come with them and they really seem to enjoy themselves already -the kids I mean. At the arrival all four children were given presents which were quickly unpacked. Inside were warm and cosy wool sweaters in brown colours. By brining the kids the atmosphere was also another, more relaxed. Everyone who would like to say hi and shake hands with the royals just did. Especially Mary took plenty of time to talk with everyone she met. And of course there was time for Christian and his siblings to run around and enjoy themselves -they climbed on the rocks, was laughing and had lots of fun with each other. Meanwhile, Frederik and Mary payed attention to... well almost everything else from journalists to kids and the beautiful mountains surround them in Igaliko. I have never been to Greenland myself, but I think it is one of the most beautiful experiences you can have if you enjoy nature.
A bit more nature and a bit more South Greenland means it's time for a quick change of clothes. That is exactly what Mary did. No more striped blouse or heeled wedges, but still something navy blue. What she had changed to was a lovely blue cosy turtleneck blouse seen a other occasions (among others this
here from 2012 on occasion of Mary's 40th birthday), a pair of black tight jeans and warm winter jacket featuring a fur collar. I am pretty sure the jacket is a yet another reuse, but I simply can't remember when and where we have seen it. Do you? So far I haven't been able to tell you anything about where her clothes are from and I still can't, but with some help from sweet
Cécile from
Princessesblog76 I can tell you that her new suede ankle boots are from designer
Etolie Isabel Marant. Not a pair of boots I even would have believed to see Mary wear, though I have to admit they match her style quite well actually. They do great with the trousers she had chosen.
Shamballa Jewels is the designer of her pink diamond ball bracelet. Love the way her hair turned out. Am I the only one who think hair, makeup and clothes makes her look all... clear and fresh?

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary in Narsaq
It was a lovely sight when the royal family members arrived by ship to Narsaq. People from near and far was there to welcome the family. Both Mary and her two daughters Isabella and Josephine were given small bouquets of flowers at the arrival. Then it was time for them to meet some of the attendances. The wonderful welcoming ceremony was followed by a visit at the local cultural center A21, at an art workshop, a retirement home such as the museum in Narsaq. These visits was without any children. From what I see on the pictures I believe both Frederik and Mary and everyone they met during their first day in Narsaq enjoyed their day. We saw lots of smiles and many laughs that day right from the second they arrived to Greenland in the morning.
Not much had changed when Mary and her sweet family later that day arrived to Narsaq; she was stil keeping warm in a blue turtleneck blouse, black tight trousers and her new
Etolie Isabel Marant boots. Though much of it had not changed, a few things had. Instead of a black winter coat featuring a fur collar she looked dazzling in an old
Ralph Lauren (
POLO collection) cape featuring black leather details and a couple buckles. It was back in
2010 at the time of the Queens 70th birthday, Mary wore the cape in the morning when family and friends woke her up with a birthday song, which by the way is another lovely tradition the family has. She added a pair of aquamarine blue earrings and a black pearl necklace both from
Marianne Dulong. Looking a bit closer at the pictures I think I see a pair of
Prada sunglasses to. What I love most about this outfit then it has to be the combination of the blue turtleneck blouse and black wool cape. Everyone should have such a cape!
