The foundation of the "Mary Elizabeth's Hospital"

May 30

On occasion of the Crown Princesses 50th birthday, Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen named their new children's hospital after her. On May 30th, she laid the very first stone of the foundation of the "Mary Elizabeth's Hospital - Riget for children, young people and pregnant women". What a gift.

The hospital is planned to open in 2025. It will be room around 900 patients. The hospitals core task is to help children, young people and pregnant women. An area of work, which has become Crown Princess Mary's main focus the last 10 or so years.

Under the foundation stone is a time capsule containing objects related to expectations and hopes for the new hospital. Crown Princess Mary held a speech at the event, which was later also placed in the time capsule.

Well, the weather in Denmark is not splendid at the moment. We differently need more sunny and warm days. Wearing lighter colours are more pleasant in good weather. Mary makes me want it even more with this gorgeous outfit. Look at those wonderful colours! That powder pink and white goes really well togther. A bit romantic and girly, but nothing over-the-top in my opinion. What do you think?

The stunning white coat is from KITX by Kit Willow. She has worn it before. One time in 2016, when the couple visited Boston (here). Looks like Mary wore one of her beloved creamy lace dresses underneath. She embraced the style with soft pink nappa leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi and an old (!) Susanne Juul hat. This pieces goes back to the time, when she was pregnant with Prince Christian (here).

Mary also styled her outfit with some incredible pieces of jewellery. Bracelets from both Cartier, Dulong Fine Jewelry and Rebekka Notkin. A ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a beautiful golden necklace from the same designer. The outstanding white pearl earrings are from Charlotte Lynggaard's latest collection BoHo. She is the head designer at Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Mary added diamond pendants to the earrings. Lovely, right? So classy and elegant.

Celebrating Danneborg's 90th anniversary

25 May

Speaking about the Danish royal family, you have to speak about legacy, castles and (of course) the royal yacht Dannebrog. This year, Dannebrog celebrate its 90th anniversary. The celebration took place on board the yacht with a few royal attendances: Queen Margrethe, the Crown Prince Couple and Princess Benedikte. The current and former captains and representatives of the Court also attended the celebration, which was a little trip around Øresund with a following lunch.

For this event, Mary had chosen a stunning blue and white custom-made dress. It was designed by Danish designer Ole Yde from YDE Copenhagen and later tailored by Birgit Hallstein. Mary first wore the dress at a business visit in Prada in 2019 (here). She impressed the world then. She did, once again, wearing this lovely dress at Danneborg's 90th anniversary.

Mary embraced the style by wearing a couple od beautiful bracelets from Dulong Fine Jewelry. They are also the talented creator of her huge white pearl ring. Looks great with those white pearl and diamond earrings. She also wore her stunning golden Cartier bangle. It must mean much to her, because she has been wearing it a million time over the last years. She matched the outfit with navy blue leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

How is it that Mary keeps impressing me? Every single time we see her these days, then I am impressed and super inspired to wear her outfits. How do you rate her outfits at the moment? To me, she crashes the scale of "amazing". Just look at this outfit she wore at the launch of "State of World Report 2022". Isn't that a wonderful outfit? I adore how Mary matched her reused Mark Kenly Domino Tan blouse with a pair of new brown trousers from Max Mara. We first saw that blouse in her interview with EUROWOMAN on occasion of her 50th birthday in February (here).

From UFO No More, I learned that the brown rope belt is from Etro. Beautiful belt. Looks so good with the rest of the outfit. Love the way Mary mixed and matched those different shades of brown. Another lovely brown accessory is that leather handbag from Max Mara. Wish these handbags would become highest fashion again. The brown suede pointed pumps from Gianvito Rossi really completed the look with such perfection.

Mary's choice in jewellery are also incredible. Actually, she wore three new pieces. Did you find them? All three new pieces are created by the talented Dulong Fine Jewelry. So, the golden earrings are brand new and a great addition to her jewellery box. The custom-made bracelet is fabulous too, such as the golden ring featuring a Tiger's Eye stone. The diamond band and Cartier bangle are well-used already. Nevertheless, they are fine pieces of jewellery.

Queen Margrethe's 50th anniversary: gala ballet in Tivoli

May 21

Many things have been cancelled or given a new date the last couple of years. Both Crown Princess Mary and Queen Margrethe experienced that on occasion of a 50th birthday and a 50th anniversary. One of the events given a new date was this gala ballet in Tivoli.

It is no secret that Queen Margrethe has been committed to the ballet as a form of art. She even designed many costumes for several different ballets.

On Saturday evening, she was accompanied by the rest of her family, when attending a gala ballet in Tivoli. Both the Crown Prince Couple, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte attended the ballet. I bet it was a magnificent night.

I do not know how Mary always manage to impress me. Who would not be impressed by this stunning and elegant look? No-one I imagine. I really adore Mary's new Taller Marmo coat. Just look at those details. The fabric is majestic and the golden details are exquisite! Heaven shared her knowledge with me about this new coat.

I learned the perfection of matching smaller details with each other, when it comes to making an outfit, from Mary. At the gala ballet in Tivoli, she showed us one more time how to rock clothes and accessories. The lovely golden diamond earrings are creation from Rebekka Notkin. She has already worn these quite a few time. We get it, right? They are magnificent. Her cool golden sequin clutch from Prada was also a nice addition, especially with the Gianvito Rossi pumps in a matching colour.

Everything about this outfit makes me happy, but that curly hair made me want long hair again - right away!

The "Womenomics Nordic Business Conference" and a meeting with UN Women.

May 18

In 2017, Crown Princess Mary received "The Womenomics Awards" for her with to help girls and women both in Denmark and abroad (here). Five years later, she was the one presenting this years Womenomics Award. They were given to four women: actress Trine Dyrholm, the tech entrepreneurs Christine Herbert and Nima Tisdall and CEO Caroline Farberger.

So, what is "The Womenomics Awards" and how do you achieve to get one? The Womenomics Awards honor important rolemodels, which in their own way have made an extraordinary contribution in the field of diversity and equality. Both professionally and personally.

The award show took place in Copenhagen and was part of the Womenomics Nordic Business Conference. Numerous diversity experts and politicians also participated the conference. They discussed latest statistics, trends and solutions in the field of diversity and gender equality. Crown Princess Mary also participated these panel debats.

Later that afternoon, the Crown Princess hosted a meeting with Sima Bahous. She is the CEO of UN Women. Sima Bahous informed the Crown Princess how UN Women work to fulfill the fifth goal of UN's Worldgoals. The fifth goal concerns equality. Director of UN Women Nordic Office Caroline Rusten also attended the meeting along with planning and coordination specialist at UN Women Executive Office Sarah Brun.

Mary had two very important events to attend on May 18th. First the presentation of the Womenomics Awards at the Womenomics Nordic Business Conference and later she had a meeting with Sima Bahous from Un Women. Mary had chosen to wear a brand new dress for both events. I learned that the dress is from ba&sh from UFO No More. Nor sure, I am crazy in love with the dress, but she wears it beautifully.

She embraced the style of her new dress with plenty of incredible jewellery. First thing I noticed was her two new necklaces. Both of them are creations by Dulong Fine Jewelry. Mary's stylist and close friend Anja Camilla Alajdi has worn the exact same combo - just with her own initial (here). Maybe Mary got inspired? She also wore a pair of earrings and a ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry. The stunning golden bracelet is from Cartier. So is the watch.

I always admired how Mary makes nude accessories look this splendid. The matching Chanel handbag and pointed Gianvito Rossi pumps makes an outstanding addition to the rest of the outfit.

CoC Playful Mind's 10th anniversary

16 May

Crown Princess Mary visited Billund this afternoon to attend CoC Playful Mind's 10th anniversary.

"CoC" stands for Capital of Children. The project is working to fulfill a vision within Billund. CoC Playful Minds work to make Billund the children's capital by different initiatives, collaborations, activities and projects.

When arriving to Billund, the Crown Princess was warmly welcomed with smiles,  flowers and happy faces. Usually, the guest of honor is welcomed by a host. This time was a bit different because for CoC Playful Minds children are the core, which is also why the children acted as hosts for the day. I love that idea.

This was truly the outfit I need to be inspired! Lately, I have been lacking of inspiration for what to wear. Everything is the same: plain colours and always black tights. But this outfit of Marys really did the thing for me. Dosen't she look absolutely gorgeous? Love how she styled her brand new olive-green midi skirt from By Malene Birger with that new green blazer from Ralph Lauren. I learned about Mary's new blazer at UFO No More. She paired it with a super simple white t-shirt. Looks all well-balanced. Colours and fabrics are a stunning combo.

Her accessories are also incredibly beautiful. Because the rest of her outfit is this simple and calm, I love that her accessories are a bit more "exclusive". Both the golden earrings, a couple of the bracelets and that rather large diamond ring are creations by Dulong Fine Jewelry with Marianne Dulong as the main designer. We also get a glimpse of her beloved Cartier bangle. The necklace with its pendants are also magnificent. They are all from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Mary completed her outfit with great heels from Chloé. They look so comfortable and makes the outfit relaxed, but absolutely not boring at all. Would you copy this look of hers?

Annual presidum meeting with the Mary Foundation

12 May

Each year, the Mary Foundation's presidum meet up to make a status of the past year. It was time for the annual meeting, which took place at Amalienborg. This is the Mary Foundation's way of informing their partners and collaborators about their work. What they have achieved, what's in progress and what still needs to be taken care of.

Representatives from both Tuborgfondet, Egmont Fonden, Ole Kirk's Fond, TrygFonden, William Demant Fonden, Det Obelske Familiefond, Remmen Fonden, Oak Foundation, Østifterne and Hempel Fonden were all gathered at the meeting.

Michelle Kolls from the family outpatient clinic at Hvidovre Hospital also attended the presidum meeting at Amalienborg. She talked about the results of the project "Good start to family life - Together Without Violence". Both the Mary Foundation and Amager and Hvidovre Hospital are part of the project. CEO of the Mary Foundation Helle Østergaard also shared a few words at the meeting.

Mary looked really lovely at the presidum meeting with the Mary Foundation and their collaborating partners. We fairly get a glimpse of what she was wearing, but in my mind there is no doubt that Mary wore a reused power pink Hugo Boss blouse. She matched it was an old long black ZARA blazer. This combo makes me guess that Mary embraced the style with plain black trousers and pumps.

She has worn the blouse and blazer before. One time at a LOKK conference in 2019 (here) and at the presentation of the UNFPA's Sate of World Population Report 2019 (here).

The stunning pink Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings were a wonderful addition to the rest of her outfit. Very chic and elegant. Almost delicate. Like a piece of candy. They have been in her jewellery box for many years now, but a design like this never really goes out of style.

Visiting the Crown Princes Mary Center

10 May

A couple of days before Crown Princess Mary turned 50, on February 2nd, the "Crown Princess Mary Center - solving problems through research and partnerships" was inaugurated at the University of Copenhagen.

The Crown Princess Mary Center is a knowledge center for applied and interdisciplinary research in the humanities and social sciences. The center gathers a community of the research environments and societal actors. Together these actors develop and disseminate new knowledge and participate in networking activities.

On May 10th, the Crown Princess paid a visit to the center at the University of Copenhagen. Here she met with several scientists who shared their work with her. She was also informed about the centers others work to find new solutions to current societal challenges with the individual being at the center.

At the little gathering at the University of Copenhagen, when Mary met with several scientist who are part of the "Crown Princess Mary Center - solving problems through research and partnerships", Mary was wearing what looks like a simple black blouse. We only got one single photo from the meeting and that is already problematic. But this one is also in a bad quality and show only very little of her outfit. From what we see, I cannot identify if it is a blouse or a dress. Somehow, I think it looks like Mary was wearing a smaller scarf at the meeting? Do you recognize anything about this outfit?

The Maternity Foundation's Mother's Day event

05 May

As patron of the Maternity Foundation, Crown Princess Mary attended their Mother's Day event at Center for Ledelse in Copenhagen.

The Maternity Foundation aim to secure women and infants life and health during pregnancy and childbirth in developing countries. The Danish foundation goes back to 2005. Crown Princess Mary has been patron since 2010.

She was warmly welcomed, when she arrived to Center for Ledelse in Copenhagen. Crown Princess Mary was about to attend an event focusing on the crossroads between women's health, technology and global development. The Crown Princess also gave a speech at the event (here).

Mary looked absolutely stunning at the Maternity Foundation's Mother's Day event. She wore an Elsa Adams skirt. I think it started as a dress. We saw it for the first time in 2019, when visiting Paris (here), but due to the construction, it could in fact be a matching skirt and blouse as well as a dress. Nevertheless, Mary wore it beautifully with a simple white button-down blouse. She was wearing the outfit with such elegance.

The first accessory I noticed was her diamond necklace. Mary first wore this magnificent necklace in 2005, when the couple visited Australia (here). I have never been able to find out who created it, but hopefully I will some day. The golden Cartier bracelet was a great addition such as the different rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and that white pearl ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

Her simple white leather clutch is a Diane von Furstenberg design. Mary has the exact same clutch in black too (here). Personally, I like the white one a little more than the black version. The smashing pointed python pumps are from Gianvito Rossi.

A parade of honor

04 April

May 4th has a very significant and important meaning to Denmark. On May 4, Denmark celebrates the liberation after World War II in 1945. Every year this specific day is celebrated across Denmark in different ways. Common for all of them are the candles placed in every window.

Crown Princess Mary celebrated the liberation with the a 4th of May parade at Kastellet in Copenhagen. The parade was arranged by the Danish Home Guard. The Crown Princess has been first lieutenant since 2015 in the Danish Home Guard.

The Crown Princess honored fallen soldiers, those lost in war and their families with a wreath.

Simple is not always a bad thing. Mary proved this with absolut perfection. At the 4th of May parade at Kastellet in Copenhagen, she showed up in a reused Søren Le Schmidt dress. The details of this dress are so exquisite and elegant. A dress like this is everything you need to call Søren Le Schmidt a very talented designer and tailor.

Mary embraced the look with diamond earrings. White diamonds surround a larger bright yellow diamond. I have never been able to identify these earrings, but maybe one day I will. The same goes with her huge golden ring. This masterpiece is still a mystery to me. Do you know anything about the earrings are the ring?

She also accessorized her outfit with dark blue leather gloves and matching pointed Jimmy Choo pumps. Once again, she impressed me with her choice of hairstyle. Looks so good. The ponytail is casual, but super chic! That bright coral nail polish is a brilliant match next to the dusty blue dress.

Gala dinner at Amalienborg

03 April

Earlier in the morning, Queen Margrethe welcomed India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was on an official visit in Denmark as part of a larger travel across Europe. He was officially welcomed by the Queen at Amalienborg.

Queen Margrethe later hosted a gala dinner at Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary also attended the gala dinner. So did, Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

The Danish family members and the Indian Prime Minister welcomed all of the invited guests with a personal greeting; a handshake and smiles.

Well, well, well. You have to love this look. Mary, you look damn good in that Valentino gown! Do you remember that she has worn it before? It was back in 2019 at the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito of Japan (here). The gown captured us then as much as this time. It has been altered a bit. Lace sleeves have been added. I kinda like this little adjustment. What do you think? Go or no go? Think it gives the gown some softness.

Mary accessorized the stunning Valentino gown with huge diamond earrings. They have been seen sold on an Bruun Rasmussen Auction in 2010. She has worn them before. First time was in Norway, when celebrating King Harald and Queen Sonja's 80th birthday in 2017 (here). She matched the beautiful earrings with a silver clutch from J. Furmani and some silver other jewellery's. Like that bracelet and ring both featuring rather large purple stones.

She also embraced the style by wearing silver satin pumps from Manolo Blahnik. This is the same shoes she wore back in 2019 with the gown. It is indeed a match made in heaven. Her hair and makeup completed the outfit with such perfection.

Princess Isabella's confirmation

30 April

A day ahead of the confirmation, the Crown Prince Couple shared a few words on social media. These were accompanied by a series of photos - some of them never seen before. The photos show the life of a newborn princess to a young woman (here).

The ceremony took place in Fredensborg Castle Church. Before the confirmation ceremony, new official photos were taken by Princess Isabella. The photographer is Franne Voigt. He is also the master behind the other official photos taken after the church ceremony.

The confirmation was about to start at noon. Princess Isabella was warmly (!) welcomed by her grandmother Queen Margrethe at Fredensborg Castle Church. She took the walk from the castle to the church accompanied by the rest of her family - parents, brothers and younger sister.

Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, their two children Prince Henrik and Princess Athena also attended the confirmation. Prince Nicolai and Prince Felix attended their cousins big day. So did her godparents: Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexia of Greece, Dr. Nadine Johnston, chief physician, dr.med. Christian Buchwald, director, major Peter Heering and chamberlain Marie Louise Skeel.

The following party took place at Fredensborg Castle. Some of her friends were also invited to celebrate the very special day.

Princess Isabella looked absolutely stunning in her off-white suit, which by the way, is from her mother's clothes. Mary has worn this lovely suit on a number of occasions. Like in 2017, when Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel visited Copenhagen (here) and in 2019 on a visit in South Korea (here). Impressive how different the same suit can look on two different woman. Read more about Princess Isabella's outfit here.

Mary was as beautiful as her daughter. Just look at that bright and shiny dress! I had no idea what to look forward to. Somehow, I though she would be wearing something old with a new hairpieces are other new accessories. That was, in a way, correct. UFO No More quickly identified Mary's new coral coloured dress as Andrew GN - a new designer in Mary's wardrobe. The colour is so pretty. Maybe the belt is a little too much with the rest of the accessories. What do you think?

The proud mother embraced the style by wearing a newly birthday present. She was gifted with these incredible emerald green earrings. They were a present from her mother-in-law on occasion of her 50th birthday a couple of months ago. It comes with a brooch as well. It belonged to, among others, Queen Ingrid.

UFO No More also managed to identify Mary's brand new clutch. It is from Serpui Charlotte. The clutch was a great match to the dress and nude Prada pointed pumps and, of course, that brand new hairpiece. A piece we still need to identify. So, the overall conclusion? I absolutely love Mary's outfit at confirmation.
