Crown Princess Mary's bridge is inaugurated

28th September

It was a very special day, when Crown Princess Mary arrived to Frederikssund on Saturday. The Crown Princess was about to inaugurate a newly built bridge - her very own bridge. Or at least it is named after her. The bridge now connect the vest and north of Sjælland, and is crossing Roskilde Fjord.

The Crown Princess was in a splendid mood when arriving to Frederikssund. Despite the weather not showing the best of what we call Danish Fall weather, she was one big smile. We get why, right? How often do you get to open your very own bridge? Not often. Around 10,000 people had showed up to participate the inauguration. By participate, I mean literally participate. As part of the inauguration the 10,000 attendances would either walk or run a one mile, 5 kilometers or cross the bridge in a 10 kilometers walk or run. The Crown Princess chose to walk one mile - yes in 100mm heeled shoes.

Right from the beginning, people wanted her attention. All wanted a picture and a handshake, and that is what they got. Crown Princess Mary took plenty of time to talk with and meet many of the attendances.

If I have had the chance to show up and get a picture of her, I would by no doubt have done that. Especially because she wore the more incredible outfit. Mary wore exactly what to wear when you open a bridge named after you. And she really looked outstanding in that red and navy blue color combo. At Royal Fashion Blog I learned that she was in fact wearing a Harris Wharf London coat, here. I turns out that it is not a new coat. I believe she has worn it before, among others, at the Women Deliver conference 2019 on June 5th, here. The stunning brooch is new and with a little help it was found on Ebay at Crystalitzy. The red dress is also a reuse. It comes from Michael Kors. I had completely forgotten about this dress until Kate reminded me that Mary has such a dress. Love that she matched the large bow.

I am sure you also noticed her wonderful new fascinator. It is really elegant and stylish. Can not wait to see how she is going to wear it in the future. Kate managed to identify this new piece as a creation from Jane Taylor. Imagine to find ones design on top of that head of hers? The new fascinator is a perfect match to the rest of her outfit, just as the stunning new Jimmy Choo pumps. A lovely pair of navy blue suede pumps. Great pair of shoes for winter time that is just around the corner.

Carlend Copenhagen also proudly shared that Mary was wearing one of their blue python clutched by the name of Aicha. A stunning new piece to her huge collection of bags and clutches. The beautiful floral shaped diamond earrings were once purchased on an Bruun Rasmussen Auction. They still look absolutely magnificent despite we have seen them on several previous occasions. This is one very good-looking Crown Princess, right?!

  1. That's lovely to hear that the Crown Princess took time with those who had waited and I'm impressed she walked the mile. She did remarkably well to keep her hat on against the wind and I love what you said that she matched the bow! The colour combination looks regal, it is balanced evenly with just one item in red that travels the length of the coat, Mary looks resplendent. It's wonderful to see a new hat, the felt fabric looks appropriate for colder weather and the sculpted shape and rose detail suit her well with the low side swept chignon. Despite the formality of the occasion the coat retains a touch of effortlessness with it's wrapped style and full skirt which echos the shape of the dress. Although the belt detailing is beautiful, I would have preferred the embellishment or the hat, not both. Together I find them a little fussy especially when combined with the floral diamond earrings but I do favor clean design.

    1. I get why you would have preferred either the hat or the brooch. Her outfit is so well put together and have so much detailing to look at. It can get a little confusing when to decide what yo focus on. Despite that I love every little detail about this outfit. The Crown Princess looks all comfortable and that makes the best outfit.

  2. Is that a corsage at her waist? If it is, I like it. I love the idea of wearing it on a belt around the waist!!!

    1. She is differently wearing some kind of corsage or large brooch. I can not tell for sure or anything else because this is the first time we see it (hopefully not last time)!

  3. As always she looks stunning, the coat, hat, and accessories right down to the gloves so elegant and all class. She is such an elegant woman. The red dress underneath sealed the deal for me. Beautiful

    1. I love that you include her gloves as well because these small details are what makes her always look super stylish.
