CBS Responsibility Day 2019

02 September

It was a big day for many new students at Copenhagen Business School (also known as CBS), when Crown Princess Mary arrived to CBS Responsibility Day 2019. It took place in K.B. Hallen at Frederiksberg in Copenhagen. She was welcomed with smiles and handshakes by, among others, Rector of CBS Nikolai, Malchow-Møller.

CBS Responsibility Day is an annual event that marks the first day for new bachelor students at Copenhagen Business School, but it also works as a day dedicated to fully focus on business responsibility. This and much more were included in Crown Princess Mary's opening speech. She encouraged the students to take changes, but in a responsible way. In addition to that the Crown Princess spoke about UN's 17 world goals on sustainable development. Take the time and read her speech here.

Seems like Mary is ready to welcome fall with lots of colors and lovely prints. At her appearance at CBS Responsibility Day 2019 in K.B. Hallen she wore a wonderful midi skirt from Valentino. She has worn the skirt before - twice actually. We first saw the beautiful Valentino skirt when Mary attended the premiere of 'The Magic Mask' in Tivoli October 6th 2018, here. Then again in April of 2019 when visiting Vibenshus School with the Mary Foundation, here. Love the skirt. It makes me happy. Do you like it? I think it is clever of her to wear the skirt, with all its colors and prints, with a simple white blouse.

She styled her outfit with the most amazing accessories. First thing noticed is the burgundy belt. We talked about it before. I still do not know where it is from, so let me know if you have any ideas.

In the same rage of colors Mary chose to wear her reused Carlend Copenhagen clutch in pink. I have this myself and it is absolutely wonderful. Works with most outfits both day and night. I often wear mine. The pumps are brand new. From Heaven and Kate I learned that Jimmy Choo is the designers. Can not wait to see then worn with other outfits in the future.

Mary was also wearing quite a few magnificent pieces of jewellery. Among others diamond and gold earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and a ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry. What is interesting, is her new golden necklace from Dulong Fine Jewelry. It looked great next to her reused beads necklace from Nadia Shelbaya.

  1. The Crown Princess looks lovely. The colour-way of the silk skirt is sophisticated, maroon through to light pink with pops of contrasting colours in aqua and green, the design was inspired by Hieronymus Bosch's artwork. The designer was sensitive with the placement of the print upon knife pleats. There are four pleats which are predominately maroon/pink, centre of the front and back and at both sides, this is quite eye catching and the skirt looks superb when in motion. I'm a huge fan of a white shirt paired with a statement skirt, here it appears effortless, although I would have preferred a three quarter length sleeves for a dressier effect. The maroon belt perfectly coordinates with the bottom tier of the skirt. I wonder if the waist belt was necessary though... the skirt has a built in waist band which is a pretty pink, this would have matched the suede pumps. I saw some stock photographs of the skirt and the print bleeds onto the waist band, it's beautifully considered - everything you would expect from a Valentino piece. I would be interested to see the ensemble without the belt, maybe it would look like something was missing. The shocking fuchsia clutch is gorgeous, I love how Mary doesn't always match her shoes to her clutch, it can look far more modern and interesting.

Many thanks for link to her speech! I very much enjoyed reading it.

    1. Well spoken! Your words perfectly captured everything I had in mind when writing this post. Especially the part on her belt. I'd really like to see this specific outfit without the belt (and maybe a short-sleeved blouse). Hopefully we get the chance to see how the skirt looks with just a simple white blouse and no belt.
