The equestrian event: Equitours

22nd May

According to Billed Bladet, Crown Princess Mary enjoyed the weekend in Uggerhalne near Aalborg to attend Equitours. Also attending was Princess Benedikte and her daughter Princess Nathalie. Crown Princess Mary was also accompanied by one of her good friends, Malou Skeel.

The equestrian event took place at Helgstrand Dressage. Looks and sounds like she really had a lovely time in Uggerhalne attending a personal hobby, interest and fascination of hers: horses and horse riding. Something she has practices way more the last six months or even more. She has participated a couple of tournaments and is already high ranking.

We only get a small glimpse of what she was wearing at the equestrian event during the weekend, but we get a "sneak peak". Something with a white collar and maybe a grey jumper? We first saw her wearing the stunning coat, when Mary the 50th anniversary of The New Lillebæltsbro in Middelbart last year in October (here). Back then it was identified as Uniqlo U. More photos from the event revealed that Mary was also wearing jeans to complete her lovely everyday look.

These new photos also made us aware of that she wore light brown suede boots and a dark brown bag. I guess her boots could be the same pair worn at a swimming competition in Bellehøj in 2016 (here) - an event she attended with her husband. Actually, it was an event in his calendar that she also attended. Another thing about Mary's outfit from at the equestrian event that connected her to Crown Prince Frederik, is that she (apparently) wore one of his caps. Kate made me aware of this. The Crown Princess wore a tweed cap during an official visit to the Faroe Island in 2018 (here). Lovely detail.

Her calendar is packed with many exciting jobs the next couple of weeks, so we have something good to look forward to. What do you look most forward to?

#ForNaturenWWF

21st May

May 22nd is UN's International Biodiversity Day. On that occasion, Crown Princess Mary is launching a new digital project on Instagram called "Together for Nature" (Sammen for Naturen). Bo Øksnebjerg, General Secretary for WWF World Wild Fund for Nature accompanied the Crown Princess for this very special occasion.

The project is really all about gathering people and their joy for nature. The hashtag "ForNaturenWWF" gives people the opportunity to share their own photos of nature. WWF World Wild Fund for Nature encourage people to share a little about where the photo was taken. Every week has its own theme. First theme is named "Forest & Land" (Skov & Land). If any of you Danes would like to participate this wonderful and exciting project that "Together for Nature" is, then you have from May 22 to June 11 to share all our amazing experiences with nature. Read a little more about the project here. Every week one or two photos are highlighted; chosen by a jury - in which the Crown Princess is also part of. Wauw I like this idea!

As President of WWF World Wild Fund for Nature, Crown Princess Mary also share a short statement on occasion of the launching. Her last frase is my favourite. She says: "The more we pay attention to what happens in nature, the more we are willing to take care of it". Let us take care of nature together - it is vitally informant for us in so many ways. Crown Princess Mary also shared a photo of her own with us under the hashtag "ForNaturenWWF" (the third photo embedded).

Sharing a moment with Bo Øksnebjerg, the General Secretary of WWF World Wild Fund for Nature, Mary had chosen the most lovely and relaxed outfit. In many ways it reminds me of her look in an interview with Politikken back in 2004 (here). I know there are not much resemblance in what she is actually wearing, but somehow the atmosphere is kinda the same to me. What do you think? Am I all wrong in this assumption?

She embraced a chic outfit by wearing a brand new pink pinstriped button-down shirt. I strongly believe we have not seen this before, but maybe she has worn it privately. I like that thought. She matched it with a moss green quilted vest from Seeland. A reused vest worn twice before. At the annual Hubertus Hunt in Dyrehaven in 2017 (here) and when the family payed a visit to the Faroe Islands in 2018 (here). So far, I have no idea where to find it. I have not been able to identify it. Jeans topped of her looks perfectly.

Otherwise, there are very little accessories to look for. I see her wearing the golden Cartier bangle and a pair of rubber boots. To me they are new and I believe I was able the find the right model at Le Chameau. I know the color is all wrong.

Prince Christian's confirmation

15th May

Finally. The day we have all been waiting for. One in particular. The young Prince Christian. He was confirmed today in Fredensborg Castle Church at Fredensborg. The very same church in which his father, uncle and grandmother have been confirmed.

At the moment, the Crown Prince family stay at Kancellihuset - right next to the castle church. This is probably why the family chose to walk from their home to the church. It gave us wonderful photos of all six of them.

Royal Confessor, Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen was responsible for the confirmation of Prince Christian.

The ceremony took place in private and a minimum of guest attended the confirmation. Many of the invited guest had to stay home due to the pandemic, but most of his closest family attended. Of crows, Queen Margrethe attended the confirmation such as Prince Nikolai and his younger brother, Prince Felix did.

He was then celebrated by friends and family at a party at Kancellihuset. I guess it has been a memorable day for the entire family.

The confirmation is one thing. The clothes another. I always admired that, when the family attend an event, they are always wearing matching clothes. Make them look united. If you pay attention to smaller details from todays confirmation, you will see that Mary matched Christian, Frederik matched Josephine and Isabella matched her brother Vincent. Clearly, they decided to make navy blue the main color combined with white dots. I like this very much.

Both Prince Christian, Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Vincent matched in each their navy blue suit and printed ties. I guess these suits have been tailored for the occasion.

Princess Isabella had chosen to wear a simple white suit from InWear (identified by Heaven) paired with a light blue blouse and natural accessories. Like her mother's Hugo Boss clutch and golden necklace from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Her sister, Princess Josephine, looked amazing wearing a white blouse and a jacket and bag from Pili Carrera (identified by UFO No More). She also wore a navy skirt - apparently her sisters old skirt.

Mary was dressed in a brand new piece from Iris & Ink. Heaven shared this found with me. This dress has so many beautiful details - the neckline, the puffed sleeves and the "floating" skirt. She belted the dress, which I think is a really lovely idea. Her new cocktail hat has been identified as a creation by milliner Susanne Juul. She has made many hats and hairpieces for Mary since she married Crown Prince Frederik. This is one of them. She confirmed it herself. Hope to see a close-up of the piece. Have you found one?

Mary accessorized her outfit with diamond earrings shaped as flowers. They were once purchased at a Bruun Rasmussen auction. Another sweet detail is the fact that she wore the Connaught Sapphire Brooch. This was given to her by the mother-in-law when Prince Christian was born. Mary also wore the brooch, when her firstborn was christened. A stunning brooch. I also see her diamond ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry, her golden Cartier bangle and a diamond band from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. A closer look also revealed that Mary was wearing some kind of tennis bracelet.

She also embraced the style by wearing an old box clutch in satin from Prada. The color was almost the same of her dress. Mary topped of her outfit with magnificent nude python pumps from Gianvito Rossi. I love when she wears bright colors with more plain colors like nude, white and black. This makes a great combo!

National convention in Frederiksværk

07th May & 09th May

This weekend, Crown Princess Mary participated yet a mother national convention in Frederiksværk. We have previously seen her participated in a couple of other conventions with her horse, Blue Horse Edelman. The pair of them were gathered again at this national convention at Helsegård this weekend.

According to Ridehesten.dk (here), she participated the MB1 on Friday and MB2 on Sunday. At MB1, the ride was a bit unsecure, but a couple of days later the equipage gave her a solid middle position amongst all riders. This is her debut at a national convention.

The Crown Princess was dressed in the obligatory black blazer, white trousers, shiny black riding boots and white gloves. Her hair was perfectly controlled in a low chignon and her head protected by a black helmet.
