Presenting the "Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2023"

Visiting Folkehuset Kvaglund & Maritime Center

04 November 2023

This year, the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes are presented in Esbjerg Music House from which the life show is also broadcasted.

Before visiting Folkehuset Kvaglund and the Maritime Center in Esbjerg, the couple made a quick private visit to Svend Wiig Hansen's grand monoment "Mennesket ved Havet" (People by the Sea).

Folkehuset Kavglund is an initiative by Kvalund Church and its residents. Folkehuset Kvaglund offer communal meals, lectures and concerts. Ways of gathering people. The Crown Prince Couple were given the opportunity to meet some of the people spending time at Folkehuset Kvaglund.

Later on, the couple visited the Maritime Center at Esbjerg beach. The city's new leisure, sports and culture center functions as a gathering place for the city's maritime associations.

Mary was dressed warm and cozy when visiting Esbjerg prior to the grand show at Esbjerg Music House. They were to present this years winners of the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2023. Mary had chosen her beloved reversible Massimo Dutti coat and a down coat underneath from Uniqlo U. Princess Isabella has also been seen wearing her mother checkered coat (here). Mary matched her outfit with dark blue turtleneck and simple black trousers belted with Etro.

She also embraced the look with golden diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and a ring from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Her knitted hat is still a mystery to me. She had worn it for quite some years, but I have never been able to identify it. The heeled boots are also unknown to me as well as the gloves. Hopefully, we will know more one day.

The equestrian event: Equitours

22nd May

According to Billed Bladet, Crown Princess Mary enjoyed the weekend in Uggerhalne near Aalborg to attend Equitours. Also attending was Princess Benedikte and her daughter Princess Nathalie. Crown Princess Mary was also accompanied by one of her good friends, Malou Skeel.

The equestrian event took place at Helgstrand Dressage. Looks and sounds like she really had a lovely time in Uggerhalne attending a personal hobby, interest and fascination of hers: horses and horse riding. Something she has practices way more the last six months or even more. She has participated a couple of tournaments and is already high ranking.

We only get a small glimpse of what she was wearing at the equestrian event during the weekend, but we get a "sneak peak". Something with a white collar and maybe a grey jumper? We first saw her wearing the stunning coat, when Mary the 50th anniversary of The New Lillebæltsbro in Middelbart last year in October (here). Back then it was identified as Uniqlo U. More photos from the event revealed that Mary was also wearing jeans to complete her lovely everyday look.

These new photos also made us aware of that she wore light brown suede boots and a dark brown bag. I guess her boots could be the same pair worn at a swimming competition in Bellehøj in 2016 (here) - an event she attended with her husband. Actually, it was an event in his calendar that she also attended. Another thing about Mary's outfit from at the equestrian event that connected her to Crown Prince Frederik, is that she (apparently) wore one of his caps. Kate made me aware of this. The Crown Princess wore a tweed cap during an official visit to the Faroe Island in 2018 (here). Lovely detail.

Her calendar is packed with many exciting jobs the next couple of weeks, so we have something good to look forward to. What do you look most forward to?

50 years with the New Lillebæltsbro

21st October

In the morning, Crown Princess Mary attended the launch of a new project called World Hour. It is part of the global campagne World's Largest Lessen, here. With only a few hours in between, she later arrived in Middelfart to attended the celebration of something slightly bigger than usual.

In Middelbart she was warmly welcomed by people from near and far. They all wanted to get a glimpse of the future Queen. The Crown Princess was invited to attend the 50th anniversary of The New Lillebæltsbro. The bright connect Jutland and the island of Funen. The bright was officially opened on October 21st 1970 and was designed by the architects, Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. Imagine designing a bright, right?

The anniversary was celebrated in both Middelbart and Fredericia - the two cities the bright connects. This is also why the Crown Princess was accompanied by both Mayor, Johannes Lundsfryd Jensen from Middelfart and Mayor, Jacob Bjerregaard from Fredericia. Seems like the three of them had a great time crossing the bright both by ship and car.

Even though the two events were separated by hours, Mary had time to make a quick change. First, she matched her tweed coat from Prada with fitted trousers. Later, attending the 50th anniversary she had changed to something way more comfortable - and warm. Just the way I would dress this time a year. Several layers of clothes. Mary embraced the chic fall outfit by wearing a cosy cable-knitted sweater and what looks like navy blue trousers. Because of the weather she did not only wear one coat, but two.

That long down coat kept her warm. The other one protected her from the rain. Both coats seems to be from Uniqlo U. Kate found her down coat and I managed to identify the other one. I figured that it comes in several different colors, but I believe I found the right color. I would not mind wearing this on a rainy day myself. Her knitted har perfectly matched the rest of her outfit. It is a reuse, but I have never managed to find out where it is from.

Despite she was all covered up we did get a glimpse of her jewellery. Like earlier during the launch of World Hour 2020, she was still wearing her jewellery from both Hartmann's, Dulong Fine Jewelry and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Her dark blue ankle boot are new too. I learned from Heaven that her new boots are from Prada. Incredible design.
