The Reumert Award 2015

Sunday, June 21st

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended the annual Reumert Award 2015 show in Skuespilhuset, Copenhagen.

It was a bit of an... unusual show this year. It has become a tradition for me to watch the broadcast of the Reumert Award. Something I have been doing for quite some years and I really enjoy it -or I use to. This year's show was... a bit laud, chaotic and... different. This might be the best way for me to describe how last night's show was. I use to like to watch the broadcast because it is a great way to see and hear all about past year in the world of art, good for those of us who do not have the chance to attend live theaters. It is a fantastic world to see, hear and feel. But the way it was presented last night, then I'm a little embarrassed on behalf of the performing art and artist in Denmark. My personal opinion is that you have, as hosts, the duty to make a decent show/performance. The felling I had last night was non of this, yes the couple behaved decent and laughed when something seemed to be fun. It was kinda embarrassing, but remember this is just my opinion. Nevertheless, the Crown Prince couple seemed to enjoy themselves. 26 awards were also handed over, here, to singers, artists etc. during the evening. Congratulations to all of them.

This morning I helped a few of my colleagues at Royalista trying to identify what Mary was wearing at the Reumert Award show. What a great way to start a day. After everything said above, I have to express how amazed I am about everything Mary was wearing. Her white dreamy dress reminds me a lot of what she wore when attending the Eurovision Song Contest last year, here. Do you see the similarities? It may be because of the kimono. One of the best designers when it comes to kimono's is Rabens Saloner (Spring/Summer S13), who also created this long embroidered piece. It was identified by Kate with information from Rabens Saloner's Facebook page, here. The white maxi dress is still a mystery to me. I like it a lot actually, but where it's from I can't tell. Not even the design gives a clue who the designer is. So, if you have any ideas I would love to hear from you. Another brand new piece is the golden glitter pumps, which I managed to find at Gianvito Rossi. Not a surprise at all, am I right? It seems to be her favourite shoe designer these days. She embrace the style with other golden accessories like Queen Earrings, an Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen ring and her magnificent Judith Leiber clutch. I am still wondering where her new golden bracelet is from. Any ideas? Love how the outfit is simply white and golden, and the fact that her makeup is all dramatic. A stunning match in my opinion.

Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary visiting Samsø

This state visit is just something I have been looking so much forward to in a very long time! And now we are already started. Crazy. Yesterday was really wonderful and I'm so pleased that we have one whole day left in company with these two lovely royal couple's. The King and Queen of the Netherlands spend their second day in Denmark visiting Samsø. They were accompanied by Crown Prince Frederik and of course his wife Crown Princess Mary. Watching pictures from their day at Samsø I really think they all had a great time. Seems like they are getting along very well. At noon the couple's arrived to Samsø which was closely followed by a visit to Samsø Efterskole and  Ballen Brundby Heating Plant. It was with great interest they royal family members listened to everything they were told. Before leaving Samsø and getting back to Copenhagen, the Crown Prince Couple and King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima had lunch at the Walthers Hvile.

Another day with a warm cape, long boots and... a new hat! Mary and Queen Maxima were both dressed to perfection in matching outfits. What Mary has chosen to wear visiting Samsø surprise me though you may think that is not possible anymore -well, it is. I like everything about her outfit. A perfect autumn outfit with the turtleneck and new grey cape from Ralph Lauren (Polo Ready-to-Wear Fall 2014/2015). To me her black skirt is a reused piece. What do you think? Of course we can't hold it any longer, we have to talk about her new hat which I'm sure you all noticed. It is from Susanne Juul. Go or no go? Not sure I have have purchased it myself but it looks great and makes her outfit complete. I'm a huge fan of hats though I rarely wear them. As other accessory Mary wore diamond earrings and rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and a Marianne Dulong bracelet. Queen Maxima wore a caramel colour coat and some snake pumps from L.K. Bennett. In contrast Mary wore knee-length Valentino boots and with the weather we have in Denmark right now I would have followed Mary with the boots. She also carried a white bag from Prada, probably her favourite among her Prada bags. I also have to comment on her hairstyle because it is just so beautiful!

Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary attending the return dinner at The Black Diamond

Oh... it has been two incredible days in company with King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary. Looks like they all had a wonderful time together and have enjoyed the days. Traditionally the visiting royal couple host a dinner on occasion of the conducted state visit and that was also the case this time. The King and Queen of the Netherlands had invited the Crown Prince couple and many others to join them on their last evening in Denmark. Prince Joachim and Princess Marie was also invited and arrived shortly before Frederik and Mary. Though only a few hour had pasted; I was so thrilled to see the two couple's together again. They were already laughing and having fun at the arrival. Sure it was a wonderful evening! It has been a true pleasure following this state visit with all of you. I hope you enjoyed it has much as I did.

From the first glimpse of Queen Maxima, I was in love with her stunning orange gown! More than every I really looked forward to see what Mary had chosen to wear at the dinner. To all of you who do not like her outfit, I have one thing to say: she simply looked her best! We got everything we could only dream of. Even yesterday, she had the courage to wear something completely different than all the other guests -her white dreamy gown made by Birgit Hallstain. Red and black have always looked absolutely great and it will always be that way. The black floor-length gown is a reused By Malene Birger creation featuring layers and layers of ruffles. This is the third time we see her in that dress. First we saw it back in 2010 in her early pregnancy with the twins, here. Then again three years later in 2013 at a private birthday party, here. The black lace over her shoulders is from Julie Fagerholt Heartmade worn at a few occasions before this. She embrace the style with golden earrings, matching bracelets and a hair piece. I know many of you, including myself, have been looking for close-ups of this specific piece and now Kate finally found one here and what's more crazy -she also identified it! Can you believe it?! The beautiful piece comes from Dolce & Gabbana. To make the outfit even more elegant, if that’s possible, she wore black Prada pumps and a little black clutch. With red nail polish and lipstick she amazed me more than ever.

Celebrating Red Cross' 150th anniversary

Thursday, September 11th

Crown Princess Mary attended the celebrating of Red Cross' 150th anniversary which took place at Fredensborg palace. Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were also invited to take part in the celebration.

150 years are quite some time. First I most congratulate Red Cross on behalf of their anniversary and everything they have achieved the last 150 years. Danish singers and actors were among the special invited guests taking part in the celebration, as well as five members of the royal family. The anniversary took place in the orangery at the beautiful and old Fredensborg castle. From what I now, no press was allowed to follow the festivity. Fair enough. Luckily there are lots of pictures from when the Crown Princess and the rest of the royal members arrived. These pictures were taken outside, in the garden, and from what I see I believe Mary, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie had a great time sipping a glass of champagne before attending dinner.

Special clothes are needed for a special occasion like this. That's probably who Mary showed up in this new curry gown which turns out to be from Hugo Boss (BOSS Black, RTW SS12). The dress was id'd by one of you, my lovely readers. I have the feeling that you have mixed emotions about the dress, am I right? A reason why I absolutely love it, is because it's unexpected. Rarely we see her wear a yellow dress, but this fits so perfectly the late summer weather! The beautiful gold earrings are traditional Portuguese earrings and the model is called ‘Queen earrings’. Very appropriate for a future queen. It’s the second time we see her wear them. Embracing her beautiful slim figure, she wore a black laser cut belt which I still do not know where is from, but could be Boss as well. Also in black Mary was wearing a leather bracelet, possibly from Naledi Copenhagen, a feather clutch from Jayson Brunsdon and lace pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Since we saw the clutch the first time, I was so sure it was a Club Monaco design (admit it, they look very similar!), but at Brunsdon's Facebook page it has been confirmed that he is in fact the designer. Love how chic and edgy her look turned out, especially because of the eye makeup and black details. So, have I been able to convince those of you who didn't like the dress at first?

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary hosted a dinner on behalf of Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2014 which took place at Frederik VIII's Palace, Amalienborg, in Copenhagen.

Copenhagen Fashion Summit
With over 1,200 participants Copenhagen Fashion Summit is the largest event on sustainable fashion in the world. The summit is a nonprofit event organized by Danish Fashion Institute on behalf of Nordic Fashion Association. In 2009 and 2012 has Copenhagen Fashion Summit been held in Copenhagen, Denmark. You find more information on the summit here

Twice has Copenhagen hosted the world famous event, in 2009 and 2012 but this year was a little different because on behalf of the summit hosted Frederik and Mary a dinner in their home at Frederik VIII's Palace, Amalienborg, for prominent figures for sustainable fashion also attending Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2014 the following day. With a huge smile on their faces, welcomed the Crown Prince Couple all the special invited guests which took place in a beautifully decorated room with matching walls and curtains such as gilded wall decorations. A room that is a future King and Queen worthy. Two of the most prominent people who attended this special dinner was Economy- and Interior Minister Margaret Vestager (the women in the white lace dress) and of course Eva Kruse, CEO of Danish Fashion Institute planning the summit on behalf of Nordic Fashion Association. I sensed a good atmosphere alongs the four of them. Before the dinner was about to begin, the attendance photographers and journalists got pictures like Agnés Colbert did. I'm so amazed by her pictures, they are just lovely! Luckily I'm in that situation I am allowed to share them with all of you. But please remember, if you would like to share them as well ask for her permission. Thanks. Standing in the middle of three beautiful women, Frederik took the next step and was soon headed to the room where the dinner was about to be held.

I was truly amazed when I saw the first pictures of Mary in her new, incredible dress! So simple and feminine at the same time. To me it is a masterpiece made by one great Danish designer by the name David Andersen. The information on this new white dress, I have from Princessesblog76. I'm already loving it! Just look at the remarkable details at front and the two length skirt. Looks really polish on her. Then I like how she matched it with golden accessories; earrings and a pair of Manolo Blahnik pumps. A lovely way to handle a dinner outfit. I'm pretty sure this outfit inspired you as much as it did to me. The good thing about a white dress like this, is that you can match it with every single colour or print you like. Mary chose to keep it simple with a pair of statement golden earrings found by Else Maria as a pair of traditional piece of jewellery in Portugal, featuring the most stunning filigree. If this isn't a winner, I don't know what would. Else Maria told me in her mail to google brincos rainha, you should try it yourself. You get so many fantastic pictures of beautiful earrings. As you see, my first guess was wrong, sorry about that. As the only jewellery besides the earrings, she wore a black Tahitian pearl bracelet from Marianne Dulong. Somethings simplicity says it all. About her hair, I most say I am a huge huge fan. Looks so perfect, especially with the light natural makeup. Can't say anything than, I'm completely impressed by her look.
