The Crown Princess Mary obsession #1

It is with great pleasure I am finally ready to present the first post of many (hopefully) on our Crown Princess Mary obsession. Quite some time ago, here, I asked you to join my little challenge telling me and my readers about why you fancy following the Crown Princess. At that time I told you that the first one would be the one where I shared my own little 'obsession', how it all started and what I have been able to collect through my time as royalist. Another reason why I have chosen to share my own hobby first, is because I really just want to get started on your post. It took way longer than I expected but here it is. When I first began to look for things to take pictures of relating to the royal family and especially Mary, I was quite surprised how much I have collected throughout the years. On precious occasions I have share with you things that are stored in my wardrobe which is why I decided to skip that part. Don't worry, there are much more to go.

Just a little something before we get going. If any of you, who participate my challange, read this post and think: "Hey I also want pictures of my things etc." then please let me know. Almost anything is possible.

My collection

Here are some of my magazines stored

As many others, Mary caught my attention right away when she first appeared in the Danish media. She was this beautiful and natural Australian girl who was about to marry the Crown Prince of Denmark. She was the 'true princess' everyone talked about. She had the story any girl in the world would like to have. It was all a bit magical. At that time I was about 10 years old. The main reason why I started to collect magazines and clippings was because I once saw a women who had an entire wall covered with pictures of the royals -I just had to have one myself. The blog universe came years later. I always had lots of fun trying to find the clothes and accessories Mary was wearing. To me it is like a treasure hunt and at one time, I was one of the only ones online following Mary and her style this closely. My intention with a blog was to share my passion about the Crown Princess, fashion in general and the fact that I missed a blog focusing on every little part of her outfit. No one was doing that. Now, when Style of Mary is a part of my everyday life I have come to the conclusion that my readers are what really matters to me and right from the beginning my intention was to give followers an new and 'unusual' experience visiting the blog.

Just a little peak into my collection of magazines counting
more than I could ever have imagined

Because of my interest in royals it has become more than just a hobby. Kinda an addiction. But sometimes that is not bad. Look at me; I have the most wonderful blog with incredible readers from round the world sharing their life with me. I am a part of Royalista too. Something I never would have imagined, even not in my dreams. My blog has brought me so far in life. I have been interviewed twice for both a magazine and another royal blog which was an amazing opportunity. After my parents, friends and family have accepted that I can't live without my royal fascination everything has become much easier. An advise for you who consider a blog on your own; then tell everybody about it as the first thing. I know it is not easy and you might be afraid of what they may thing,  but it makes life easier afterwards.

why I have magazines from even the year I was born

Answering my own question on what I would like to do next, then it simply has to be visiting Brandts in Odense and see the exhibition were ten of Mary's dresses will be exhibited. Hope that will become a reality within a short time. And of course about Royalista is going to be so much fun. I can't wait to get started and share my experiences with you.

Books are a girls best friend! I love my royal books. I'm sure my collection of books with

My precious collection of clipping! Here all my clippings are stored,
categorized after clothes and accessories. This is a project I have been working on for years and
I am not quite.... done yet.

I almost forgot the part of my collection I'm the most proud of -my eight categorized folders. You see pictures of them above and below. These are categorized after Danish and international designers, shoes, hats, bags etc. This project of my obsession I started several years ago and it has taken hours (!) to come this far. I am still not finished and I don not think I will ever be. Such things takes lot of time. I wish I had more time to do these things, but there is simply no time right now. At least what I have done will remain and some day it is time to get started again. When I think about it; I love these on-going projects.

This was just the first of many posts I hope to make in the future. I aim to inspire all of you with these posts; inspire you to speak out laud about your royal interest which might not always be as easy as it sounds. Aren't you looking forward to the next one?

Rare Diseases Day 2015

Thursday, February 26th

As patron visited Crown Princess Mary the Disability Organization's House in Taastrup on occasion of the Rare Diseases Day 2015. The Crown Princess also attended the presentation of EliteForsk awards on occasion of EliteForsk conference at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek.

It was as patron of Disability Organization's House that the Crown Princess attended Rare Diseases Day 2015 in Taastrup. On this occasions Mary visited an exhibition of drawings made by children with rare diseases. The project was supported by the Danish Hospital Clowns who also were present at the royal visit. She was in a splendid mood with a huge smile on her face when she arrived to Taastrup attending the opening of the exhibition. Here she was welcomed by plenty of proud children who really looked forward to show the Crown Princess their 'art work'. It was with balloons, red noses and soap bubbles Mary was welcomed and I think she loved it. The kids were eager to tell her stories about their time with the hospital clowns when being a patient. She was also given a tour around the building.

I don't know what you think but somehow Mary loves the chic and edgy style right now. At this event she wore a combination of gold, black, leather and suede. We rarely get to see that. I am thrilled to see her try something new! She totally rocked this new Hugo Boss dress featuring a checkered print and leather top. Under she was wearing a black turtleneck blouse fearing long sleeves. After a closer look at her outfit, I figured out that she was wearing knee boots matching the length of the dress. The golden logo underneath indicate that it is from Prada and I also managed to find similar model, but not the exact same. So, if you are the one to help me with that I'd love to hear from you. Keeping an edgy look Mary accessorized her outfit with black pearl jewellery from Marianne Dulong. Both earrings and bracelet have been seen before on previous occasions. On a few pictures I am also sure I see some kind of brown suede clutch but that is really all I can tell. Do you also see it? Nevertheless, a brown clutch would perfectly match her brownish hair colour. I wouldn't mind get the chance to see her wear similar outfits in the future.

The use of Corporate Social Responsibility

Wednesday, February 25th

Crown Princess Mary attended a reception at Christiansborg castle focusing on promoting women's rights in companies using Corporate Social Responsibility.

Frederiketmary.centerblog.net

Working to improve girls and women's well-being, health and rights around the world the Crown Princess was guest of honor at the reception at Christiansborg castle dealing with the question about the use of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in companies. The reception took place focusing on promoting women's rights in companies by using CSR which is used in relation to integers socially and environmentally with the company's operations and in their interaction with stakeholders. The last few years this concept has become even more important to run a good business. Mary entered the stage and gave the opening speech in front of some of the most important representatives from Danish politics. Afterwards a debate was raised including all the attendance.

Attending the reception at Christiansborg Mary was beautifully dressed in a new white blouse featuring a Peter Pan collar, a pair of black trousers and a short jacket. Back in 2014 when she attended the Children's Relay, here, she wore the exact same jacket. At that time I identified it as Prada but I have never really been able to find the model. Embracing a true business-look she was wearing a pair of grey suede ankle boots, first worn when she showed up at Copenhagen Fashion Week in January, here. My idea about the identity of these pointed ankle boots is Gianvito Rossi. Takes a look at the ones I have found and tell me what you think. To me there are great resemblance. Her shoes perfectly matched that grey Quidam clutch. As jewellery she had chosen two-colour stone earrings, which I still haven't found, and a couple of bracelets from among others Marianne Dulong. This outfit would do great for a day when you are not quite sure what to pull together. Just a pair of trousers, a white blouse, ankle boots and a jacket. Simple as that!

"Danish Fashion Now"

Now, this is just great news! Maybe you have already heard it. Well, Brandts in Odense has made a new exhibition called Danish Fashion Now. At the exhibition some of the most talented Danish designers have clothes exhibited. It focuses on Danish fashion trends and how fashion actually affects our everyday lives. So, now you may wonder why I am telling you this. There is a perfectly good reason for this post because 10 of Crown Princess Mary's dresses made of Danish designers will be exhibited! Her dresses have been chosen because of her commitment wearing clothes from Danish designers. Still it is not know which 10 dresses that will be exhibited, but hopefully we will know soon. I sincerely hope I will be able to visit the exhibition myself and if any of you are going, I'd love to hear about it. Maybe you even get some pictures you are willing to share with me and my readers. The exhibition is from March 27 till September 13 2015. I can't wait to hear more about this project!

Day 3. Visit to Ethipoia

Wednesday, February 18th

Crown Princess Mary are visiting Ethiopia accompanied by Minster of Trade and Development Mogens Jensen from February 16-18th.

Crown Princess Mary during her third day in Ethiopia

Unbelievable how has time goes. Her third and last day in Ethiopia is already here and the Crown Princess has only one day left before leaving the country. It has been three wonderful days and the last one was no exception. Mary and Minister of Trade and Development Mogens Jensen visited Addis Ababa where she got the opportunity to visit a few homes who helps women and children. At noon the Crown Princess had lunch with members of the civil society to talk about sexual mutilation followed by a meeting with companies who work to become more sustainable. During the day Mary talked with as many as possible. They told their story and the Crown Princess listened with great sincerity. Before the evening reception she also payed a visit to a local hospital.

On this her last day visiting Addis Ababa in Ethiopia Mary was dressed in a white blouse, pleated skirt and beige peep-toe wedges, looking just great.

Crown Princess Mary at an evening reception

Around dinner time arrived the Crown Princess and Minter of Trade and Development Mogens Jensen to attend a evening reception. Several special guests were invited to attend the reception with Mary as guest of honor who, of course, arrived as the last one. The reception is the last event Mary attended before leaving Ethiopia. She was kindly welcomed with large smiles, greetings and handshakes. During the evening the Crown Princess had the chance to speak with representatives from organization's and foundations working on humanitarian projects. It has been three wonderful days in company with Mary and her traveling partner.

Mary was beautifully dressed in a black dress paired with purple accessories. She embraced the style with a wavy hairstyle and flawless makeup.

Day 2. Visit to Ethiopia

Tuesday, February 17th

Crown Princess Mary and Minister of Trade and Development Mogens Jensen are visiting Ethiopia from February 16-18th. The visit focuses on women's health and rights in humanitarian emergencies and provide information on the subject of female genital mutilation.

It is now two days since the Crown Princess arrived to Ethiopia late in the evening. Yesterday the official program started with a visit at a refugee camp in Southern Sudan, Ethiopia. On Tuesday Mary and Minter of Trade and Development Mogens Jensen visited the village Afambo where they got to meet many of the townspeople. Both of them were invited to a little meeting with the people living in Afambo. Later in the afternoon the Crown Princess visited a hospital dealing with female genital mutilation, where she met some of the women who had been subjected to circumcision. From what I see, hear and read then this made a huge impression on her. For those of us who have never been their on our own, I'm not quite sure we will ever understand what these people are going through -under what conditions they are living. Something we will never understand. No people on earth should ever experience what they live with every day.

On her second day in Ethiopia Mary was dressed in beige trousers and a printed shirt. With sunglasses she protected her eyes from the sun and with her hair in an updo, I'm sure she tried to stay alive in the heat.

Day 1. Visit to Ethiopia

Monday, February 16th

Crown Princess Mary visited Ethiopia form February 16-18th with Minister of Trade and Development Mogens Jensen. The visit focuses on women's health and rights in humanitarian emergencies and provide information on the subject of female genital mutilation.

The Crown Princess arrived to Ethiopia the day before on February 15th for her three days visit. She is traveling along with Minister of Trade and Development Mogens Jensen whom which she has traveled with one previous occasions. At the arrival she was dressed in black and a navy blue outfit caring a bag with all her essentials. On the first day in Ethiopia she visited a refugee camp Tierkidi in Southern Sudan. Here she and Mogens Jensen got the chance to meet with the people living in the camp. They told their stories, how they have been helped and the situation they are facing. Mary also planted a tree, sang, danced, helped caring water and much more. It always makes me so proud to have a Crown Princess like her, paying attention to those in need. No doubt that she is able to attract attention on such a visit, both among the people she meet and in the media. Showing attention and care, such as listening gives people hope. She has for years effortless been working to improve girls and women's well-being, health and rights. These trips make her see for herself what needs to be done and how help have already improved these people's lives.

During her and Mogens Jensen's first day in Ethiopia she was dressed in earth colours -beige, rusty red, brown. She paired a shirt with long trousers and sneakers, sunglasses to keep her eye protected from the sun.

Skiing in Verbier

Sunday, February 8th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary enjoyed a week of skiing in Verbier, Switzerland, along with all four children.

For years it has been a tradition for the Crown Prince couple to enjoy a week or so of skiing in Verbier, Switzerland. Something the couple has been doing since they got engaged in 2003, maybe even before that. Also when Frederik and his brother Prince Joachim were just boy's they enjoyed skiing with their parents. Also Prince Joachim and his family loves skiing during the holidays. Since Frederik and Mary had their first child, Prince Christian in 2005, they just brought him with to have fun in the snow. Now the family is a little bit bigger and all four children -Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, had a lot of fun with each other and a little more time along with their parents. Every year the press is allowed an interview with the family and so was it this year as well. We got a lot of wonderful pictures of the family enjoying each others company in the snow.

Do you have some special traditions during your holiday?

To keep warm in the snow while skiiing in Verbier, all family members were wrapped up in down jackets and trousers such as warm winter boots. Everyone, except from Princess Josephine were dressed in shades of blue. All six of them wore skiing clothes from 66 North (Mary’s trousers, Josephine and Vincent’s suits), The North Face (Isabella’s jacket), Peak Performance (Isabella’s trousers) and sweet little Josephine also wore a hat from Mocler. So, with the right skiing gear to keep them warm, I’m sure they had some great days with lots of snow!

My trip to Copenhagen

You may have noticed that I am a little late with a few posts, actually I'm over a week late with my posts. Well, I got myself a pretty good excuse. While the Crown Princess attended all these events during the week, I visited Royalist in Copenhagen! I was invited over to visit them and I couldn't do anything than accept the invitation. To you who still do not know much about Royalista; then the site is an online universe for everyone interested in royals from all over the world. The site is owned by Aller Media and made in collaboration with the Royal magazine Billed Bladet. Shortly after Royalista became a reality I was given the opportunity to get my very own blog where to write about the one and only Crown Princess Mary. A wonderful challenge and now, for the first time, I had the pleasure to meet the amazing team!

The Aller Media logo    *    The front of Christiansborg castle    *    Holmens church

I will now follow you through my days in Copenhagen. I live about three hours in train from Copenhagen where I arrived on January 30th. After a little walk, I was standing right in front of a huge glass building seven floors high -the one and only Aller Media building. As the first thing I was given a tour around the house and got to meet some really nice people, journalists etc., who (surprisingly) knew all about my blog. A crazy feeling. Around noon, I had a chat with the Royalista team about new, very exciting, projects.

I am not sure how to share this great news with you, but you are going to love it as much as I do. I have been given the chance to work with the Royalista team on one of these new projects!! It is all very overwhelming to me. I was given a few days to decide but really whats the big deal? Soon I will be visiting them again to hear much more about the project and what is expected of me. But you don't have to worry, Style of Mary are not going anywhere.

With a great dinner in the evening, I went back to my hotel. Think I slept less than four hours that night because of everything I had experienced. The next morning on January 31st I visited Christiansborg castle in Copenhagen along with one of them team members from Royalista. If you ever visit Copenhagen and get the opportunity to see Christiansborg castle -you should! The most amazing rooms will meet you. Huge painting, chandeliers in every room. It feels like you entered another world. Before the tour at Christiansborg I went for a little work around the area to see Holmens church, the church where Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine were christened. Amazing to see it in reality.

This has differently been two really incredible days and I just had to tell you about it. Though I only visited Copenhagen for two day I got ill with a high fever when I arrived home, which is the main reason why you had to wait a bit longer for the latests posts. Now I'm great again and I tried to post everything that has been missing. I can't wait to share much more about my collaboration with Royalista in the future.

The World Cancer Day 2015: award show

Wednesday, February 4th

Crown Princess Mary attended the presentation of the Danish Cancer Society award on occasion of the World Cancer Day 2015

She had a large smile on her face when she arrived to Skuespilhuset in Copenhagen to attend the presentation of this years Danish Cancer Society award. With the vision 'to have a life without cancer' the Danish Cancer Society work to improve the conditions for people with cancer, give them a better life afterwards and most important to prevent people from having cancer in the first place. The award is handed over on occasion of the World Cancer Day 2015. At the arrival the Crown Princess was welcomed by chairman of Danish Cancer Society Frede Olesen. Before Mary entered the stage with Frede Olesen, a few speeches were given to ensure the attending guests how important this award is. When the time was up, the Crown Princess entered the large stage and presented this years winners psychologist and senior researcher Julie Midtgaard and research physiotherapist and graduate in health science Morten Quist. They were given the award because of their effort in research on cancer and volunteer efforts in the field. Congratulations to both of them with the prestigious award!

Floor-length trousers seems to be a clear favourite for Mary these days. Judging the fact that these are high waisted and no closing is visible I think you are right about it being at jumpsuit. One has been found at Max Mara and the two of these are very similar. Therefor I think Mary's has to be found a this designer, though I have not been able to track down the exact same model. Maybe you are more lucky than me. The upper part of her outfit, we have a white no-sleeve blouse featuring a pleating at front. At the arrival she wore her black Prada coat seen at countless times before today. She embrace the style by wearing a pair of black pointed pumps which I'm still not sure who designed. I suggest either SAND Copenhagen or Gianvito Rossi. As jewellery she had chosen a few diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard, a unidentified diamond bracelet and rose quartz earrings from Cenius & Bach. These are the ones caring her monogram on the back such as a hidden blue diamond somewhere unknown, symbolizing her royalty. Last but not least Mary wore her silver watch from Cartier featuring a black leather strap. If I'm correct this is the watch she got as morning gift from her husband-to-be on the day of their wedding.

Danmarks indsamling 2015

Saturday, January 31st

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended the charity show Danmarks Indsamlingen 2015.

For several years Denmark's Radio (DR) has made an annual money gathering for humanitarian work. Since 2007 about DKK 600 millions has been raised to help more than 7 million people around the world. Maybe I need to give a little explanation of how this works. While a show is broadcasted live on TV people can call in and donate money to the collection. These calls are answered by famous Danish actors, journalists, athletes etc. Not every year, but almost, the Crown Prince couple have attended the gathering show which is broadcasted live on Danish television. This year the couple attended. They arrived in a great spirit shortly after the show were set of to start and were warmly welcomed. First Frederik and Mary watched the gathering show followed by a visit at the call center where all these actors, actors, journalists, athletes etc. answer donations to the project. Each year the money goes to a number of different humanitarian work.

We do not have that many pictures of Mary's outfit without the new Hugo Boss (Fall/Winter 2014) coat, which really is an incredible design. Paired with black sheer tights, matching pointed pumps and that Carlend Copenhagen clutch her evening outfit was ultra chic and edgy -maybe a bit more than we are use to see her in. But really, Mary is know to try unusual clothing solutions and this one is just great! What makes this look even more amazing, it that is even possible, is the feminine hairstyle. Lately we have seen many of these romantic hairstyles and I simply love it. More of those, thanks! I am not quite sure who the designer of the pumps is but it could be either SAND Copenhagen or maybe even Gianvito Rossi. Sitting next to her husband watching the show, we got a glimpse of what she was wearing underneath the coat -a fitted dress and a black lace cardigan from Heartmade Julie Fagerholt worn at a couple of previous occasions. Her diamond earrings from Hartmann's gave the outfit a glamorous finish. Her makeup was flawless as always. Anything you would consider wearing?

The Women’s Board Award 2015

Friday, January 30th

Crown Princess Mary attended the presentation of The Women's Board Award 2015 taking place at PFA Pension, Copenhagen.

Now we haven't seen the Crown Princess for quite some time and now we have seen her 4 or 5 times last couple of days. That just great! It was in the afternoon she was about to attend the presentation of this year's Women's Board Award which took place at the PFA Pension in Copenhagen. The Women's Board Award help to strengthen the relationship in Danish companies and find positive ways to use gender. In her work for more gender equality, Mary was the perfect spokesperson to attend hand over the award where more than 200 guests were invited. From what I see Mary was in a splendid mood, really enjoying herself. Though it has been a long day for her with all the events as part of Copenhagen Fashion Week 2015, still she was in great spirit.

Mary looked just great in her all reused outfit. Actually we have seen exactly this outfit at a few previous occasions; first in 2012 when she attended the 60 year's anniversary celebration of the Twin Registry, here, and then in 2013 at the launch of UNPFA's annual population report, here. Not much has change since the two previous occasions. Though it is not the first time we get to see this casual look, I haven't been able to figure out where the jacket is from. Still, the details reminds me of Prada. She paired the jacket with black trousers and her buckled Max Mara shoes. Other than the classy shoes, Mary embrace the style by wearing earrings and a couple of diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, such as golden bracelets from Kinraden and Marianne Dulong. Last but not least we have the magnificent Carlend Copenhagen clutch.

New official photos!

New official photos of the royal family members is always something that excites me, especially when the Crown Prince couple are the ones whom we get new photos of. Today such photos were published on the Royal Family's website -three new photos. One of Crown Prince Frederik, one of Crown Princess Mary and a last one with both of them. These three wonders were taken by Franne Voigt. So, if you haven't already seen them, then hurry up! You find them right here

Copenhagen Fashion week 2015: Fashion Fair

Friday, January 30th

Crown Princess Mary attended the Designers' Nest, visited the Jewellery Room and CIFF Raven & Men's Fashion on occasion of Copenhagen Fashion Week 2015.

Program: Copenhagen
  • 9:25 am. Crown Princess Mary attended Designers' Nest.
  • 10:45 am. Crown Princess Mary visited the Jewellery Room.
  • 11:30 am. The Crown Princess visited CIFF Raven & Men's Fashion.

Many years since we have seen the Crown Princess at this many fashion related events, but it is great to see her now and then anyways. This year we already got to see her at a couple of fashion shows and on Friday she attended the Copenhagen Fashion week 2015 Fashion Fair. Here she enjoyed the day visiting both Designers' Nest 2015, the Jewellery Room and a few hours later the CIFF Raven & Men's Fashion. During her visits she was introduced to several designers latest creations and even got to met the designers behind the brand. The "special" thing about the Designers' Nest is, that is was created to give design students a chance to show of their creations. Guess it must have been so exciting for them to show some of the things they have been working for for quite some time, to the Crown Princess. She seemed really impressed by what she saw. The design students also got to show their collection at the Copenhagen Vision Fashion Fair during CFW 2015.

More than once, Mary has received awards for her sense of style and with what we saw at the Fashion Fair, I think she deserves them more than ever! At such fashion events both national and international media's are followed her every step; reporting what she was wearing -what I do on a daily basis. Like when she attended the YDE Copenhagen fashion show on Thursday, I am completely impressed by what I see. Usually brown is not really my colour but as always Mary's makes it work perfectly. Her new classy dress has been found at Edith & Ella (AW14) featuring a wonderful orange feathers. Both colours and the long sleeves makes it ideal for the weather right now. It was the great Royalista-team, who managed to figure out the identity of her new chic dress. At the arrival Mary wore a new navy blue coat, which I still have no idea where to find. She accessorized her outfit with a matching cross-body bag from Quidam and new over-the-knee boots from no one else than Gianvito Rossi! This ID I got from Princess Watchers. The massive amount of jewellery she wore at the fashion event gave the outfit a bohemian vibe. These jewellery come from both Marlene Juhl-Jørgensen, Orit ElhanatiOle Lynggaard Copenhagen, Kinraden and Marianne Dulong. Some of the most talented designers we have in Denmark.

So, tell me how you come to fall in love with this outfit as much as I have?
