A day at Frederiksborg Castle

November 19, 2025

While King Frederik hosted a royal hunt in Gribskov, Queen Mary spend a day with her girlfriend's at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød.

The ladies went for a walk in the royal palace gardens. Queen Mary captured the stunning morning in some photos later posted on social media. Some of those who also enjoyed the morning were Pernille Wedell-Wedellsborg, long time friend Caroline Heering and baroness Helle Reedtz-Thott.

I know it is not all about titles but after all Mary goes with the most prestiges title. Yet she was the one dressed most casually. I love that! Mary simply wore a fine Härkila coat and matching brown outdoor-trousers. Her Penelope Chilvers boots were a lovely match. She stayed warm wearing a knitted hat, gloves and a cozy turtleneck.

Meanwhile others were dressed in fur, long woolen coats, chic leather gloves, printed scarves and colorful bags.

Visiting Lerbjerg Forest

30 January 2025

Queen Mary is new patron of the Danish Nature Fond. She "inaugurated" the new title with a visit at Lerbjerg Forest in Lejre.

The Danish Nature Fond was founded back in 2015. The foundation aim to promote the protection of nature and water environment in Denmark.

Along with with Chairman of the Danish Nature Fond Bengt Holst, the Queen went for a walk-and-talk. They were accompanied by representatives of the Danish Nature Fond (among others biologist Frederik Møller) and Lejre Municipality. During the walk she also helped inaugurate a new handicap accessible boardwalk.

A walk in the forest this time a year in Denmark takes a good and warm outfit. Mary knew that when she was visiting Lerbjerg Forest in Lejre. She had chosen a practical olive green Laksen jacket and matching trousers. Mary first wore this set when visiting Greenland July 2024. The warm gloves are also from Laksen.

Mary was also wearing wonderful boots from Penelope Chilvers and a cozy plum knitted beanie. Pretty sure the beanie is new.

Love the fact that we have a Queen comfortable wearing both elegant gala gowns and a down-on-earth outdoor outfit.

Day 8.

Official visit to Greenland

06 July 2024

The King and Queen (and the twins) already spend more than a week in Greenland. On their last day, they visited Narsaq and Qassiarsuk. They were welcomed in Narsaq by Mayor Stine Egede and members of the board. To mark the couple's visit, King Frederik panted a pine tree at the administration building.

Before attending lunch with municipal council members and the local business community, the royal couple paid a visit to the local sports hall in Narsaq.

In Qassiarsuk they were welcomed by board member Piitaq Lung by whom they were given a tour around the village followed by the traditional 'kaffemik'.

By now we know all about her dark green Laksen suit. She has worn it almost every day since they first arrived in Qaanaaq. Mary was wearing a grey turtleneck, her navy blue Moncler down-vest and Penelope Chilvers boots. These boots have also been her favorite shoes to wear during they stay in Greenland.

The cap. Actually, King Frederik was first seen wearing this tweed cap in 2018 on a trip to the Faroe Islands. Since then, his wife has been fond of wearing it. I am still clueless where to find it. But it looks good on her.

I wanna thank you for following the official visit with me - despite my writings have been a little late. Your loyalty means the world to me. Thanks!

Day 7.

Official visit to Greenland

05 July 2024

Another day in Nuuk

The couple have accompanied each other the last week, but today they attended a few events on their own before hosting a reception onboard Dannebrog.

King Frederik visited school students who have participated in projects and competitions created by Kalaallit Nunaat - the Foundation for Entrepreneurship. He was given a guided tour around the school and introduced to some of the students ideas developed in relation with Kalaallit Nunaat.

Meanwhile, Queen Mary visited the institution Naasut. They work with the Mary Foundation's project 'Free Bullying'. The Greenlandic name is Kammagiitta. Head of Naasut Katherine Larsen Lennert talked about how they work with the project on a daily basis.

I do like a good tailored suit and Mary has so many beautiful sets. This one from SKALL Studio is not my favorite - simply because of its 80s oversize blazer. Nevertheless, I love how she matched it with a reused white BOSS blouse. Great choice. It soften the look a bit. The belt is Celine.

She embraced the outfit with elegant golden earrings and a bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Her two other golden bangles are still a true mystery to me. I think they are custom-made. The diamond necklace is Halberstadt. Look closer and you will see her Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen ring.

I am not able to tell the exact model but she is indeed wearing brand new suede Prada boots. To me they look chocolate-brown.

Arriving in Narsarsuaq

King Frederik and Queen Mary spend first half of their day in Nuuk and after hosting a reception at lunch time, they traveled to Narsarsuaq. The couple (and the twins) travel with Dannebrog. They arriving were captured in a few photos. Nothing fancy. Just the couple arriving in silence.

The photos gave us a glimpse of a wonderful traveling outfit. Mary wore a stunning new jacket from Meqqussalik and green Laksen trousers. Adore her natural look: soft curly hair, Gucci glasses and Penelope Chilvers boots. She was also seen wearing the trousers a couple of days ago when fishing in the Eternal Fjord.

Mary was also seen wearing a brand new bag. It has been identified as Palorosa. Never heard of the brand before but I really like this design.

Visiting Igaliku

When arriving in Narsarsuaq a little earlier it was also to visit the small 'bygd' (a village) Igaliku. The King and Queen will spend the night in Igaliku.

Igaliku is known as the village where the famous viking chief Erik the Red docked with his ship more than a thousand years ago. He settled in Greenland as was leader of the northerners.

King Frederik and Queen Mary also went for a walk at 'Kongevejen' (the kings road) named after Kind Frederik IX in 1952.

When visiting Igaliku, Mary had chosen to keep on her green Laksen trousers as when the couple arrived in Narsarsuaq. She matched it with her Laksen jacket and new Laksen checkered blouse. Mary, please wear this blouse again. Looks so good on you! Even Frederik wore a checkered blouse - and a jacket matching his wife.

She stayed warm by wearing a brown knitted beanie and scarf. I think the scarf is the one she received as a gift when visiting Greenland in 2004.

The suede boots are from Penelope Chilvers.

Day 5.

Official visit to Greenland

03 July 2024

The family had no official appearances on July 3rd and King Frederik, Queen Mary and Prince Vincent decided to go fishing at the the Eternal Fjord. The Government President Múte Bourup Egede accompanied them and acted as host of the day.

Múte Bourup Egede introduced them to the magnificent nature and shared what he know about whales, seals and the polar fox.

Did you catch any fish? - indeed they did. The fish were later cocked on the way back to Dannebrog.

How many countries can brag about having a Queen that show up on a boat in Greenland fishing wearing outdoor clothes? - Denmark can! Mary even look stylish wearing her Laksen set. That olive green is a great color for her. She first wore the trousers a few days ago when visiting Qeqertarsuaq on June 30th.

This time she styled the set with her raspberry red knitted beanie and Gucci sunglasses. With help from UFO No More her new gloves have been identified as Laksen. One again, Mary was wearing Penelope Chilvers boots. Perfekt for the event.

Day 2.

Official visit to Greenland

30 June 2024

The royal family were on a very special mission today. They sailed the seas around Qeqertarsuaq to inaugurate a whale microphone. An equipment used by the Arctic Station's scientists to follow and get closer to the animals at sea at the Disco Bay.

Later on, the family were welcomed at Kongebroen in Qeqertarsuaq with a following reception at Hotel Qeqertarsuaq. King Frederik joined the 'ready-set-go' of 'Qeqertarsuaq Race, Family Mile', which Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine participated.

Time for some war clothes. No doubt that the family have packed for colder weather. Today, Mary wore a number of different jacket - also worn at the same time. One of them is a brand new blue down-jacket from Patagonia. Another one from well-known Härkila. A third reused one from Uniqlo and a fourth navy blue wool-blend coat. I do not remember if we have seen this last coat before. But I doubt it.

Mary later matched a knitted beanie with a beautiful dark raspberry turtleneck. I love a good turtleneck! Looks good with everything. Fine skirts, tweed, simple black trousers, etc. That is exactly what Mary wore. Simple black trousers. I like it.

After their boat-trip, Mary changed to something a bit more stylish (the navy blue coat, black JOSEPH trousers and colorful turtleneck). She also changed her shoes. According to UFO No More, she wore new ankle boots from R.M. Williams. I haven't been able to find any photos clearly showing her boots, but this time I go with the flow. Her other boots are from Penelope Chilvers.

The sunglasses need no further introduction. They are from Gucci and of course you all know about her fine little brown leather bag from Chloe. It goes back to 2013.

Inauguration of 'Jægersborg Fence'

07 April 2024

Queen Mary attended the inauguration of the south part of 'Jægersborg Fence' in Nærum. This part of the forest is untouched and grow wild.

At the inauguration, the Queen gave a little speech and by that revealed a new logo of King Frederik X "guarding" the gate to the southern part of Jægersborg. She also released a couple of deers as a symbol of the inauguration.

Day 1. Visiting Greenland

23 August 2022

Crown Princess Mary has visited Greenland on a number of occasions. Also quite a few times along with the Mary Foundation. Among others in 2016, when she traveled to Greenland to attend the conference "Domestic Violence - a shared responsibility".

On Tuesday August 23rd, she took the trip from Copenhagen to Nuuk to participate several events focusing on some of the issues Greenland is facing - like plastic polluting the environment.

The visit last for only two days. On her first day, she first visited Aqqaluk - a home for children to spend their spare time. Here they can engage themselves in several activities. Crown Princess Mary and the children participated in activities arranged by WWF World Wide Fund for Nature. The Crown Princess has been patron for WWF World Wide Fund for Nature for a couple of years now. Since 2020.

Later that day, she visited Mælkebøtten. The institution work to improve better well-being amongst children and young people in Greenland. It is done through courage, tolerance and responsibility. She made her visit to Mælkebøtten along with the Mary Foundation.

When arriving to Nuuk, Mary was beautiful dressed in a very casual outfit. I really like that she had chosen something this simple. In genereal, I love when she is wearing these casual outfits. Makes her more "one of us". The beautiful coat is an Massimo Dutti design. Princess Isabella as even borrowed her mothers coat (here). Mary matched it with a reused Ralph Lauren knitted sweater in a very lovely light brown colour. Underneath, we get a glimpse of a plain white button-down shirt. The cool jeans has been identified by UFO No More (here) as Hugo Boss. A silhouette that is a personal favourite of mine.

When visiting Aqqaluk, she participated gathering trash outside in wind and rain, which is (probably) why she chose to add a Mackage cape. I learned about this new addition to her wardrobe at Royal Fashion Police (here) as well. Both the tweed cape and brown knitted scarf are reused pieces. Actually, the cape was first seen worn by Crown Prince Frederik in 2018 (here). It has never been identified. The scarf is a gift from when she first visited Greenland in 2004.

Mary also embraced the look with a few pieces of jewellery - and a hair-tie from Kknekki. Both yellow diamond studs and the elegant diamond ring are still to be found. She has worn them before, but we still need some more information. The golden necklace is from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

We was lucky to see two pairs of shoes during the day. At the arrival, we get a pip of an old pair of ankle boots from Prada. She first wore them in 2020, when attending the 50th anniversary of the Lillebælts Bridge (here). The other pair is brand new boots from Penelope Chilvers.
