03 January
For two days the Queen and the Crown Prince Couple have honoured and celebrated the arrival of a new year. First at Amalienborg for, among others, the Danish Government, here. The following day they accompanied each other once again at both Amalienborg and Christiansborg. Here representatives from both the Supreme Court Judges, Royal Officers' Guard and the Guard Hussar Regiment and later the Diplomatic Corps were gathered to celebrate New Year with the royal family, here.
On January 3rd, Queen Margrethe hosted her last New Year reception. Officers from the Armed Forces and the Emergency Management Agency, I., II., and III. rank as well as representatives of major national organizations and royal protections were invited to Christiansborg where the reception took place. It is a tradition for the Queen to arrive to Christansborg, on this very last day of reception, by gold coach. A wonderful way of welcoming a new year.

Beautiful, beautiful Mary. She looked like a shining star. This warm bordeaux colour looks great next to her fair skin and dark brown hair. Apparently, Mary's favourite colour is purple and this colour comes as close to purple as any colour does. The floor-length gown is created by Danish designer, Lasse Spangenberg back in 2017. It comes with a matching cape as well. Both pieces of clothes have been seen on a couple of previous occasions. Among others, at two New Year receptions in 2017, here, and 2018, here. She introduced the cape to us at the New Year banquet in 2017, here.
She embraced the look with stunning earrings from the ruby parure from Queen Ingrid. She added black pearls to match the darker colour dress. The matching black pearl bracelet is from Dulong Fine Jewelry and has been part of her jewellery collection for many years now. A piece like this, never goes out of style - Mary proved that to us.
The Hugo Boss clutch and Gianvito Rossi pumps have been seen before on quite a few occasions. Both day and night. Unfortunately, gown and cape covered most of her incredible accessories worn at this year's second and last New Year reception.

CPss. Mary looks stunning once again. The color of this gown is great. The Queen must love this gown ,a very nice color. Frederik look fantastic in Uniform with plenty of Hardware on it.
ReplyDeleteFor me last purple and white gown were much better than first in New Year.
ReplyDeleteCP Mary looks beautiful in this gown, it fits her so well and the colour is glorious. The cape takes this gown to a whole new level, so regal and elegant. The colour tone of the shoes and clutch is superb. The Princess has a real flair for what suits her best, just love the way she incorporates her jewels to their best advantage.
ReplyDeleteMary's choices for the New Year receptions this year were superb! In fact, for me, this might be the best year for all 3 days in a several years. She looked stunning each time with beautiful gowns matched to perfect accessories and hair styles. At each reception she looked elegant, regal, and beautiful. One of the things I appreciate the most is that she went into her closet for choices this year. Well done!!!
