Meeting with "Global Fashion Agenda"

22 June

For many many years, the Crown Princess has attended the annual Copenhagen Fashion Summit. Actually, she has attended the event almost every year since 2009. On more than one occasion, Crown Princess Mary has been patron and advocate for the subject on fashion. In 2018, she become patron of the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA). Together, Copenhagen Fashion Summit and the Global Fashion Agenda focuses on the fashion industry - especially, more sustainable solutions.

On Tuesday, Crown Princess Mary met with Niels Eskildsen, Chairman of the Board of GFA and their new CEO Federica Marchionni. The meeting took place at Amalienborg. The three of them talked about GFA's priorities to improve the fashion industry. To make a more sustainable fashion industry.

When meeting with Federica Marchionni and Niels Eskildsen, Mary dazzled wearing a brand new printed wrap dress. A least that is what it looks like and with some help from Heaven, we now know that it is in fact a wrap dress from ba&sh. Thanks for sharing this great find with me.

A blurry photo makes it a bit difficult to see details, but I recognize her golden Dulong Fine Jewelry bangle. I sense that Mary is also wearing one or two golden necklaces. One of them is her Ebba Sydow Jewelry piece. Do you see a second one too? Maybe she is also wearing earrings? The shape makes me think of Louise Grønlykke, but I am not sure. I suggest Louise Grønlykke because the shape reminds me so much of a rather new pair of earrings (here). Maybe they come with removable pendants? Her little clutch is from Tapet Café. We often see it, when she attending meetings at Amalienborg or if we get a glimpse of her home office.

Have you ever thought about their choice of interior? Sure, the couple are surrounded by huge golden mirrors and fine candelabras, but they also like 21st century design. For instance, Mary has a love of Arne Jacobsen chairs (here) - with purple cover. Multiple photos are also often seen in their offices. Mary's meeting room is also very interesting. I specifically noticed one thing: the white book with red pages on the self behind her. That is rather new. I found it to be "The Queen's People" by Assouline (here). She was serving coffee (or tea) in Royal Copenhagen cups (here).

What makes a good community?

23rd April

Not that long ago, we got a sneak peak of a workout filmed to the upcoming Free of Bullying Children's Race (here). Both Crown Princess Mary, as founder of the Mary Foundation, and Johanne Smith Nielsen, as General Secretary of Save the Children, participated the warm-up.

The two of them "met" again in this little video posted on the Mary Foundation's social media. What makes a good children's community? This question was given to both Johanne Smith Nielsen, the Crown Princess and several others who participate the Free of Bullying program. One word to make their answer.

Crown Princess Mary wrote: "tryghed" = security. She argued that children need security in life to develop. Others wrote respect, courage, care and trust.

Once again we get a glimpse of how it looks, when Mary is behind her desk in her home office at Frederik VIII's Palace. I love these moments. Especially, these relaxed moments. The atmosphere was indeed relaxed and comfortable.

Participating the little challenge, Mary was wearing one of her old Britt Sisseck blouses. A thin black blouse featuring small dots. She uses it as a belt, but in fact it works as a scarf. My guess is that she matched it with simple black trousers and perhaps black pointed pumps.

She embraced the style with a golden Cartier bracelet and probably more, but we cannot see them. Again, Mary was wearing her beloved brown Gucci glasses. They seems to be a favorite at the moment. I spotted her little leaf-printed Tapet Café clutch on her desk right next to her. Maybe a sleeve to her tablet?

Meeting with WWF Wild Fund for Nature

22nd October

Much is different at the moment because we still try to fight the world spread pandemic. This means that virtual meeting's have become more and more common. Especially for our hardworking Crown Princess. Today, she joined a virtual meeting with WWF World Wild Fund for Nature's presidum.

Crown Princess Mary is newly president for organisation. During the meeting she was informed about the current work and given the latest knowledge about nature, animal life and biodiversity. It is important that we change or way of living. We cannot kill our natural ressources. We need to find the right balance - in her own words. Lately, the Crown Princess has shared much or her work with us personally on social media. It was also the case this time.

At her virtual meeting this morning, Mary wore one of her lovely printed blouses from Lavin. She matched the blouse with a pair of fitted black trousers and what looks like light brown loafers. I could be wrong. The blouse is a reuse and has been worn on quite a few occasions by now. Mainly with trousers and a belt. I especially loved the blouse, when she dazzled in an interview in Berlignske Tidende in 2016, here.

Once again, she embraced her outfit with several golden bracelets. I see at least three from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Seems like they are her favorites at the moment. She added her Cartier bangle and a fourth one I think could be her new one also worn the previous day. The beaded bracelet in pink. Mary topped of her business look with a simple ponytail and diamond studs, such as her beloved Tapet Café clutch. It always follows her on these more private meetings.

August 20, 2020

No doubt that COVID19 has made our mindset different. We think differently. We need to take different precautions than we are use to. We need to act differently when we are around other people. Both in private and for companies, things are not as we are use to be. But how do we deal with this?

This is exactly what Crown Princess Mary and the rest of the Mary Foundation's management discussed at a meeting last Thursday. A meeting about being creative and finding alternatives for what is not possible at the moment. For instance, physical contact with others are limited right now. Crown Princess Mary reminds us that physical distance and social distance are not the same thing.

One of the things the Mary Foundation try to fight is social isolation. Not the easiest topic to combat on normal terms, but COVID19 makes it even more difficult because we need to stay separated to take care of each other. But by being creative and innovative, and trying to find alternative ways of getting together we are, according to the Crown Princess, able to do the things we use to do - without compromising.

With this mindset, the Mary Foundation still operate to fight social isolation despite difficulties.

I always love getting a glimpse of how it looks, when Mary is head of a meeting. Not many placed in the world are we allowed to see what happens behind closed royal doors. Mary changed that. On more than one occasion she shared with us pictures and tellings about how a meeting takes place with the Mary Foundation.

This time she chose to embrace her hardworking work-ethics wearing one of her old Michael Kors dresses. Mary first wore this dress at the presentation of the annual FSR - Denmark's best CSR report in 2018, here. Some time went by without anyone lucky enough to identify this new dress. Suddenly, it was found at Micheal Kors.

Mary belted her Kors dress with a lovely burgundy belt. Still unidentified. Still a piece I really want to find one day. She has both worn this incredible belt with skirts, dresses and even outside a navy blue coat, here.

Usually, we see her accompanied by her phone, paperwork and some kind of clutch bag. Meeting with the rest of her leading team Mary brought with her two clutches. One possibly from Carlend Copenhagen (called 'Laura') and another one from Tapet Café. The beautiful beaded necklace is a Dulong Fine Jewelry creation.
