30 June
With a clear calendar, Crown Princess Mary had time to fly to Paris and attending the opening of the Generation Equality Forum. Prior to the opening, she met with Phumzile Mlambo-Ngucka the UN Women Executive Director and Anita Bhatia the UN Women Deputy Executive Director. The meeting took place ahead of the opening ceremony at the Danish Embassy in France.
Later that day, she arrived to the big opening of the Generation Equality Forum - an international summit that focuses on gender equality. Crown Princess Mary attended the summit as Honorary Advocate for Leaders for Generation Equality. She was accompanied by the Danish Minister of Development Aid Flemming Møller Mortensen. They two of them arrived at the same time.
The French President Emmanuel Macron hosted the opening ceremony at Carrousel du Louvre. Gender Equality Forum is organized between France, Mexico and UN Women. It gathered Ministers, international organizations, businesses from all over the world, etc. as a common platform to discuss issues and possible solutions for more equality. But the summit also marked the 25th anniversary of the Beijing-declaration constituted in 1995 as part of the UN's 4th World Conference.

I guess she arrival a day prior to the opening or earlier that Wednesday morning. Ahead of the opening ceremony of the summit Generation Equality Forum, Mary participated a meeting with Phumzile Mlambo-Ngucka and Anita Bhatia. For that meeting, she had chosen to wear a brand new blue suit. A comfortable and stylish linen blazer with matching trousers. Hope we get a close look some day soon. I feel in my bones that I will love it even more. She kept her outfit very simple. Suit, white t-shirt and brown leather belt but it works! Keep it simple, right? Mary really made that clear with this look.
Later that day, she changed to another stunning outfit. Arriving with Flemming Møller Mortensen, Mary wore a new black dress from Prada. I learned about the dress from Heaven. It features a pleated skirt, white dots and rather large gold buttons. In a way it features many retro vibe. Do you like her new dress? As Jennifer noticed, Mary has decided to make a few adjustments. A few golden buttons have been removed, some part of the satin ribbon has also been cut off and originally it comes with a little black bow on the neckline. In a second, I thought about something was different about the two dresses, but nothing I payed attention to. Maybe because the adjustments are so natural and well-made.
She accessorized her look with white pearl earrings and a golden bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry, such as a diamond ring from the same creator. Her other golden bangle is from Cartier. One of her most beloved pieces of jewellery. A close look revealed a diamond ring from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and two diamond bracelets from the same talented designer. Love this combo of bracelets.
The beautiful light brown leather tote is a Prada handbag. Mary has worn it on several occasions, but I was never able to find the right color. Apparently, it is hard to find this model in brown. Now I hit the jackpot. I found her brown Prada bag in the lovely brown color. She matched the bag with beige python pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Her face mask is from Kartó - a reusable mask. What an outfit!

The Crown Princess wore two wonderful outfits during her recent trip to Paris. The iris blue trouser suit looks effortless and fresh paired with a simple white tee shirt and slender tan belt. The Prada dress is timeless, the curved placement of polka dots adds further femininity to the pleated skirt. Mary has made some adjustments to the dress. Originally, the satin panel down the front of the bodice extended past the waist and two gold buttons have been removed from the panel. In addition, there was also a flimsy satin bow attached to the collar, this has wisely been taken off. The three alterations were well-judged and have made for a cleaner and more elegant design. My only quibbles are that the shoes and bag could have been more exciting, but the nude/tan accessories were perfectly appropriate for the day's agenda.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. Think you are the first to notice the alterations. I did not see them. In a second I had the thought about alterations on the dress, but nothing serious. Maybe because the small changes is really well-made and it looks perfectly natural - like it was made that way :-)
DeleteI fell you. The shoes and bag could have been a bit more exciting, but for the event I think it was very appropriate. In a way, I would like to see this dress with red accessories.
Love the dress.
