UEFA Euro 2020 in London

07 July

It is no secret that I know very (very!) little about football. This kind of sports has never caught my attention, but the rest of the world seems to disagree with me - even our royal family. Both Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary share a great interest in numerous different sports. Riding, handball, swimming and of course football.

The Crown Prince Couple and their oldest son, Prince Christian, have already attended several games to support the Danish team. Wednesday evening, the three of them flew to London to watch Denmark against England in the semi final of the European Championship 2020 . The game was played at Wembley Stadium.

They arrived at Wembley twenty minitues before eight in the evening. All three of them were in a splendid mood. Smiling, laughing and having a great time together. Prince William sat close by and had a little chat with the Crown Princess and Prince Christian before the game was about to start. Prime Minister Boris Johnson watched the game too and also had the pleasure of meeting the family.

The Crown Prince Couple and Prince Christian had to leave London with no victory. England won the game. Congratulations!

I simply love Mary's style during these football games. I love that she wears the Danish colors and no the "obligatory" black. So many at the VIP lounge wore black and white, but not our beloved Crown Princess. Mary showed up wearing an old white Athé by Vanessa Bruno blouse and a dark red Alexander McQueen blazer. The blouse was first worn at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 (here). In London we only get a glimpse of how great this blouse looks, but luckily we have seen it before. We know how beautiful it is. Looks like she embraced the style with simple black trousers.

A closer look revealed to me that Mary had chosen some pretty incredible pieces of jewellery. Expensive jewellery, but easy to find cheaper. Her short golden necklace is from Orit Elhanati - one of her most worn necklaces. The other one, is from Dulong Fine Jewelry. This designer also created one of the golden bangles. She matched her look with a few other bracelets as well from Cartier and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Mary also wore a couple of diamond rings. The golden band is an Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen creation. Because of this design, I am pretty sure her new diamond earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

  1. I hope they had a good time, even when Denmark lost. Good looking family, it seem Christian is taller then his parents. Better luck next time.

    1. I think they did :-) At least the rest of the Danes had a great time.

Well, yes. The handsome young Prince Christian is indeed taller than his parents, but it is in this DNA. His grandparents and great-grandparents like Queen Margrethe and his father, King Frederik 9th are both tall.
