Opening of 'Danish Women's Shelters'

Friday, April 20th

As guest of honor and founder of the Mary Foundation, the Crown Princess attended the opening of Danish Women's Shelters in Copenhagen. The shelter acts both as residence and counseling center for battered women with special focus on newly born mothers and pregnant women. The Crown Princess was kindly welcomed with flowers and lots of smiles when she arrival to the new shelter in the middle of Copenhagen. As part of the official opening she gave a warm and sincere speech. She visited the shelter along the Mary Foundation and brought with er a present -backpacks. These backpacks are a tool made by initiative from the Mary Foundation in collaboration with Ole Kirk's Fund and LOKK. They work as a way to get children to talk about their experiences. What these children have in common is that they come from families where violence is involved. Each year a couple of thousand backpacks are given to children at shelters across the country. The Crown Princess included the backpacks in her speech. Later, she was given a tour around the new facilities accompanies by Minister of Children and Social Affairs Mai Mercado and leader of the shelter Susanne Larsen.

The same say the Crown Princess also met with Dr Zsuzsanna Jakab, who is WHO Regional Director for Europe. The Crown Princess is patron of the WHO Regional Office for Europe. She was informed about the work of WHO and how the organisation try to improve healthcare- and livingstandards. Future activities were also discussed. She also payed a visit to a photo exhibition made by WHO and UNICEF about vaccines for vulnerable populations. This takes place as part of the European Immunization Week.

The temperature is rising and days are getting a bit warmer, which means times for spring outfits. During her day in Copenhagen both opening a new shelter and visiting a photo exhibition, Mary was beautifully dressed. She embraced a feminine set of colours and smashing silhouettes. Even the fabrics are worth mentioning. Mary had chosen to paired a brand new Stella McCartney blouse with a multicoloured pleated skirt from Diane Von Furstenberg. Both new pieces have been identified by Heaven. I first thought she was wearing trousers. Then that striped "thing" showed up and I knew it was no longer trousers. What do you think about her new skirt? I kinda like it. Looks really nice with the powder pink silk blouse. I also like the way she accessories the outfit with golden jewellery. Mary dazzled wearing earrings and a ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a Orit Elhanati necklace. A very beautiful match.  I also see another necklace as well. To me it looks like this one worn back in 2010 and 2015, here. Both the Gianvito Rossi pumps and Quidam clutch are featuring the most incredible blue colour. The skirt is still a surprise to me, but I think is makes a great spring piece. Especially the way she matched it with jewellery and all.

    1. I am impressed how she actually managed to change your mind on stripes; that is just wonderful. Hopefully we'll see many more beautiful outfits with this new striped skirt :)
