Day 5. Official state visit to Japan

Thursday, October 12th

-Tokyo-
For four day the Crown Prince couple has visited Japan and the celebrate the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Danish couple has been in front of a business promotion from October 8-12th. So, Thursday was the last day in Japan. They royal couple spend their last day attending a food- and lifestyle event taking place at the Danish embassy in Japan. The event focused on, among others Danish tradition about furniture and table setting -though I had no idea Danes had traditions about table setting.. at least not very different from any other Scandinavian countries. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary also payed a visit to a school in Funabashi to see for themselves how the school use LEGO as a learning tool. The use of LEGO during teaching is part of the program We Do. Later, the Crown Princess attended Design Walk where she also met several Danish companies working in Tokyo. A rather extraordinary day I you ask me. We got lots of smiles and happy memories to remember.

Though Mary showed up in a very plain coloured suit during their last days activities in Japan, I have to say I kinda like it. Massimo Dutti came to me right away and with a little help from Heaven, my suspicion became the truth. Mary's new beige linen suit is indeed from Massimo Dutti. Other than the suit she wore a white v-neck blouse, which could be new but I think it's an old one. I think of a blouse from Hugo Boss when I see this. As jewellery she embraced a chic look by wearing two golden necklaces from Orit Elhanati and Georg Jensen, such as Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and a couple of diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. A favourite combination of hers. Love how she managed to bring a plain suit to live with a few sparkly jewellery and her snake skin pumps from Gianvito Rossi. What a combo!

-Dinner-
In the evening the Crown Prince couple had two last events to attend before the official state visit in Japan was coming to an end. First the couple arrived to Hotel Gajoen in Tokyo to attend the official celebration of the 150th anniversary I have mentioned quite a few times the last few days. So, is it really necessary mentioning it again? The royal couple met with the Japanese Crown Prince couple who seemed happy to see the Danish Crown Prince and Crown Princess one last time. Also representatives from the Japanese Parliament and Danish companies in Japan participated the reception along with the two Crown Prince couple's. With a few sips of champagne and a speech given by Crown Prince Frederik -Japan and Denmark are ready for another 150 years of good relations.
As a final event the Danish royal couple attended an official dinner to celebrate the yearlong connection between Japan and Denmark. Members of the Danish business delegation traveling along with the Crown Prince couple were also invited to the dinner where they had a once in a lifetime chance of making new working relations with potential new collaborators.

Update: On Tuesday DR broadcasted a documentary from the Crown Prince couple's visit in Japan, here. It is in Danish so if you are troubled with the language then enjoy all the lovely footage.

One last outfit left from a wonderful visit in Japan. She impressed wearing a brand new black floral printed suit from Etro. Heaven is the one who shared this identification with me. I have to say, I have a hard time trying to decide wether or not I like Mary's outfit from the evening event. Got the feeling that it makes her look at bit old, especially because of hairstyle. Don't misunderstand me because I absolutely love the french twist. It is a personal favourite of mine. This time I would really like to hear what you have to say. Go or no go? Still, I like how she embraced that "pyjamas-suit" trend everyone is loving so much. Wether we like the complete outfit or not, Mary had chosen some incredible accessories. Her satin blue Prada clutch and what I strongly believe is pointed Gianvito Rossi pumps. She also dazzled by wearing both earrings and a necklace from Georg Jensen, last seen when the Mary Foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary in September, here. Do you remember her in that new Lasse Spangenberg Copenhagen gown with the drop jewellery?
