Crown Princess Mary attended the inauguration of KFUMs new soldiers home's transition housing for veteran families in Høvelte, Birkerød.
Well, I know I'm a few days behind with this post from when the Crown Princess attended the inauguration in Birkerød couple of days ago. But I have been so busy with everything else and yesterday I attended my aunts 40th birthday which began at noon and lasted all day, so... better late than never, right? It is the third time the Crown Princess attend the inauguration of a new soldiers homes as transition housing for veteran families. These new homes are build in Høvelte in Birkerød by KFUM. The Crown Princess arrived to Birkerød in Crown 8 on a very windy and cold October day. Still, she was met by friendly and smily faces as well as music played by the Royal Life Guards band, which immediately gave a warm atmosphere among the participants. One reason for the Crown Princess to attend this very special day is, among others, because she is patron of KFUM Soldiers Mission. She has had the title since 2012 and has also been in Afghanistan back in 2009 to visit Danish soldiers deployed in Camp Bastion, all as patron of KFUM. As part of the inauguration she cut a red ribbon with a golden scissors to officially mark the opening of these new soldiers homes in Hølvelte. The Crown Princess was given a guided tour around the new facilities after the traditional royal opening ceremony. She also got the change to talk with some of the veterans, who told her how a typical day is.
The day before Mary attended the opening of the new soldiers home in Birkerød, she attended the DANISH Design Talent - Magasin Prize 2015, here, at the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen to present this years winner. She was dressed in the most magnificent white creation by YDE Copenhagen. The floor length evening gown has been topic of many discussions right since. I can't stop loving it. With feathers and all. It was a little more of an everyday outfit we saw at the inauguration in Birkerød. She chad chosen to wear a navy blue double breasted coat seen at a couple of times before. I had a hard time trying to identify where this coat comes from, but Kate managed to find it at Prada. Unfortunately, it is no longer available anymore so I can't really share any link with you. I have the pictures stored on my computer to those of you who would like to see them. Mary embrace the chic autumn style by wearing matching blue leather gloves and her Lanvin pumps featuring a bow. A true royal outfit. As goes with the coat, I have so much trouble figuring out where that checkered clutch is from. I strongly believe it is from Prada because I have found another featuring same technique. Take a look at the link below and tell me what you think. Do you have any other designers in mind, then let me know. Many of you also pointed out that she was wearing some kind of new brooch and indeed she was. When you buy such a floral brooch, you donate money to Kræftens Bekæmpelse who work to give people with cancer at better life. Very thoughtful of her. And of course we have her diamond earrings from Hartmann's. A lovely outfit worn by a lovely woman.
