This trip to the western part of Africa, more specific Burkina Faso, was actually scheduled to take place in January earlier this year, but because of a terrorist attack in the capital city Ouagadougou, it was decided to postpone the Crown Princess visit. Then suddenly I find out that she is on her way to Burkina Faso and is already landed, when I first hear about the visit. The Crown Princess arrived yesterday in Burkina Faso, to stay there for two days along with by Minister of Foreign Affairs,  Kristian Jensen. The two of them have on several occasions worked together and been on foreign visits like this which focuses girls' and women's sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as gender inequality and Denmark's development do to aid efforts in the country.

Before the departure from Denmark, Kristian Jensen have expressed how pleased he is for the Crown Princess commitment to make a difference. As one of the poorest countries in the world, Burkina Faso is supported by Denmark providing access to among others information about connected to giving birthday and pregnancies such as handling issues like gender equality and violence against women. Denmark's support to Burkinabe families goes back to 1973, here.

While her husband was visiting Danish troops in Iraq, she met with women at a local health center in Korsimoro, who had come there for a consultation. With her was Kristian Jensen. The visit to Korsimoro was then followed by a visit to a nearby Kamsé village. The two foreign guests were warmly welcomed and received four chickens and a goat as gifts on behalf of their visit.

After a quick change of clothes, the two traveling companions attended a meeting with Burkina Fasos President, which took place at the presidential palace in Ouagadougou. The Crown Princess also met a young mother at 15, living in Ouagadougou with her two month old daughter. With help from her grandparents, she manages to go to school. It was simply wonderful to watch the meeting between the two of them - the Crown Princess, the young mother and her daughter. I think a meeting like this is why she find it so important fighting for better and equal opportunities for women and girls around the world. In the evening, the Crown Princess and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended an official dinner on behalf of their visit to Burkina Faso.

Old news: The Crown Princess in Milan

September

Two days ago the Crown Princess ended her New York-visit where she attended activities and meeting's in addition to the UN International Conference on Population and Development, here, here, here. Among others she attended meetings with the High-Level Task Force organization, Global Leaders' and the Maternal Foundation.  I think she was honored to get the opportunity to participate, show her commitment and maybe also to get prepared to her role as host of the Women Deliver Conference in 2016 -get some ideas, meet people and get all the latest news about future projects etc. Crown Princess Mary traveled last Sunday to attend the conference in New York.

A week before she went on a short trip to Italy, more specific Milan to go shopping, here. Walking in the streets and looking like everybody else, she ruled the fashion city wearing a classy and a the same time casual outfit. What I love about her look is the possibilities. With a pair of heeled shoes and it's the perfect evening outfit. Very scandinavian -navy blue capri trousers, a white peplum and the long black coat. Non of this are yet identified. She completed the look with what I think could be a new pair of Marianne Dulong earrings made of white gold, a necklace from Orti Elhanati and a gold ring from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. I think I see one of her Anni Lu or Charlotte Wæhrens bracelets as well. She wore a Prada tote handbag and loafers both seen before. Finally, I have been able to identify her grey loafers which took me quite a long time. They are from Rêve. So, to those of you who love them as much as I do, you now know where to get them. The coral shades she wore is new and now also identified as Balenciaga. First time she wears shades from that designer. Do you like them? Think they are pretty cool.

Monday, March 9th

Crown Princess Mary attended the launch a new project Everyone Should Learn How to Swim which took place in Kildeskovshallen, Copenhagen.

The Crown Princess arrived to Kildeskovhallen in Copenhagen in a great spirt. She attended the launch of a new project called Everyone Should Learn How to Swim. The project is organized by the Danish Swimming Federation which the Crown Princess is patron for, to make sure everyone can swim. She was warmly welcomed with a bouquet of flowers and a few handshakes. As guest of honor Mary gave the opening speech before the attending children showed their tricks in the water. In her speech she gave the impression of how it is important for people to learn how to swim. During the couple of hours she visited Kildeskovhallen she took plenty of time talking to as many children as possible. They told her how they learn to swim and why they loved spending time in the water. And it really is a pleasure watching her along with the kids.

Taking a look at what she wore at the launching. Then we have a wonderful spring outfit right there! She paired a white blouse with a pair of black trousers and loafers. A stylish look you can create in 5 minutes. The new white peplum has been identified by Kate as Prada. I do not what what you think of peplum blouses but they do great for all sizes, shapes and styles. No matter what time a year they do great. Peplum blouses can be worn both during day and evening. And if you are more to dresses, then that is also possible. Peplum's are just flattering. End of story. Another piece I have been able to find are those dusty grey loafers. I managed to identify them as Rêve. She accessorized her outfit by wearing a few bracelets from among others Marianne Dulong, a couple of Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen diamond rings, a golden Cartier watch and then of course that pastel colour Marianne Dulong earrings. If you look at the pictures you also see yet another golden piece of jewellery -a golden bracelet. I am sure we have never seen it before and unfortunately I have no idea where to find it. Hair and makeup were flawless al always!
