Hubertus Hunt in Dyrehaven 2024
03 November 2024
Princess Josephine accompanied her mother at the annual Hubertus Hunt in Dyrehaven north of Copenhagen. They watched the hunt and associated obstacle course from the balcony of the Eremitage castle.
The Hubertus Hunt goes back to the year of 1900. Back in the days, the riders hunted down a fox with help from their dogs. Today, the fox is simply a rider with a foxtail.
Queen Mary also handed over the "Queen Mary's Honorary Award" to rider Niels Goldschmidt and his horse Irish Diamond. She also presented the medals to the first, second and third place of the Hubertus Hunt's pony riders. In order: Malou Kiran Grenal, Maise Broge Nielsen and Tilde Plaep.
I love this time a year! Mainly because of what we wear. Long coats, woolen sweaters, boots, scarves, etc. That's why I always look forward to her attending the Hubertus Hunt. Because of her outfit. This year, Mary had chosen a pair of smashing green velvet trousers, a creamy white turtleneck, a reused Seeland down-vest and a stunning long Strenesse coat.
The trousers have yet to be found. She first wore them at the same event in 2018 and then again in 2019, when visiting Roskilde. Really want green velvet trousers myself. I adore velvet! Mary has also worn the Strenesse coat before at a similar event in Gribskov in 2019.
Mary matched the clothes with stunning brown heeled leather boots, a reused Prada bag and a wide-brimmed felt hat - embellished with a Ragnar R. Jørgensen brooch. Her delicate diamond ring is from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. She later changed to a bright knitted beanie.
