2nd New Year reception at Christiansborg

Wednesday, January 7th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended the 2nd New Year reception for the Danish Defence and Emergency Management from first, second and third rank such as national organizations and royal patronage, taking place at Christiansborg. The reception was hosted by Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik.

The second and last New Year reception. I've really enjoyed the last couple of days in company with the royal family. A shame we have to wait for a year for it to happen again. But then we have something to look forward to. The second reception also took place at Christiansborg. Guests from the Danish Defence and Emergency Management from first, second and third rank such as national organizations and royal patronage were invited by the Queen and her husband. The Crown Prince couple arrived shortly before the Queen and Prince Henrik who, by the way, arrived by golden carriage as they always do. As the day before all attending guests were welcomed by the four members of the royal family. Each and every one. Maybe the part the royals hate the most about these receptions.

… And then she is back! At the second reception Mary arrived in a outfit we have seen before, down to the last detail -almost. One little thing had changed. A brown belt had been added on the jacket to show of her small waist and made the skirt look even more gorgeous. If the alteration was a good or bad idea I can't say for sure.  In a way I like the idea to add a belt but maybe it’s not the best material to a velvet jacket? Now, on to the dreamy pink tulle skirt. This is what we imagine a real princess is wearing when we are kids and some of us also when we are a bit older. Unfortunately today's princesse's do not have the opportunity to wear such tulle skirt's very often anymore. When we talk about it, you properly also want to know who have made it. Well, she has worn the skirt with a pink lace blouse at a previous dinner where it was identified as Jayson Brunsdon, here. Mary is a perfectionist and everything must fit together, so of course jewellery and clutch is in the same colour as the jacket and skirt. You've probably already recognized the clutch comes from. It is her dusty pink clutch from Bottega Veneta.I was pretty sure she was wearing her powder pink Gianvito Rossi pumps but I was not right. With some help from Heaven I learned that Mary is in fact wearing a pair of suede Pura Lopez pumps featuring a lovely bow. Differently the first time we see them. And then with a simple bun and stunning makeup she impressed me once again.
