The Mary Foundation against violence

20 February 2023

Fighting against domestic violence has been on the Mary Foundation's agenda for many years. Lately, the foundation has intensified their efforts to find ways to combat especially partner violence.

"Violence is never acceptable - and can never be justified. And yet thousands of families live with the dark secret of domestic violence." - The Mary Foundation (here)

It is estimated that more than 33,000 women in Denmark live with violence acted by their partner every year. The same goes with children living in homes dominated by violence.

In a new video, the Crown Princess is joined by a number of victims of this type of violence. All of them encourages in their way to speak out loud and reach out if they suffer from violence or knows someone living with violence.

Presentation of the EliteForsk Awards 2023

20 February 2023

The prestiges EliteForsk Award has been handed over since 2007. The award is the Danish Ministry of Education and Research's way of honoring leading researchers in each their field and to create awareness about research in Denmark.

Crown Princess Mary has attended the presentation for many years. Also every year since 2007, she has helped honoring leading researchers in Denmark. Read along and you will find links to when she also attended the presentation of the EliteForsk Awards.

This year the presentation took place around noon at Skuespilhuset in Copenhagen.

Her Royal Highness was first welcomed by Minister of Education and Research Christina Egelund. Later, she joined Crown Princess Mary on stage.

The five award winners were given 200,000 Danish kroner as a personal award and 1 million Danish Kroner to their individual area of research. The winners are Professor Dorthe B. Ravnsbæk, Professor Alexander Kai Büll, Professor and Chief Physician Per Borghammer, Professor Eline Lorenzen and Professor Poul Fritz Kjær. Congratulations to all of them.

As mentioned before, Mary has attended the prestiges presentation of the EliteForsk Award for many years. Almost from the beginning. I have collected some links for you to see both former shows - and of course outfits. Hope I was able to collect all of them down below. Any favorites? I fancy her look from 2009 and 2020.

For this years award show, Mary had chosen a really lovely outfit. A bit more plain as usual, but why make it more complicated than necessary? She has worn both the Red Valentino blouse and Dolce & Gabbana skirt before. Actually also as a complete set. It was when visiting London late last year (here). The Prada coat has been in her wardrobe for years. I have no count on how many times Mary has worn it, but it is more than at 25 occasions.

A closer look revealed to me that Mary embraced the simple style with yellow and white diamond earrings. I have never been able to identify them. Many one day. Back in the days, she adore this combination of rings. Two diamond bands from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and that other stunning diamond ring. Also never identified.

To match the rest of her outfits, she was wearing a beloved black leather clutch from Quidam and brand new suede pointed pumps from Jimmy Choo. Recognizing designers of her black pointed pumps collection is already a struggle for me and now she added just another pair. Truly a nightmare. But what do you think? Is she a winner?
