Medal of Honor dinner for Navy officers

29 January

Tuesday evening, Queen Margrethe hosted a Medal of Honor dinner for Navy officers taking place at Fredensborg Castle. The dinner is held one year for military officers, then naval officers and Air Force officers. Naval officers, who have reviewed the Medal of Honor, were this years invited to Fredenborg Castle to attend the dinner.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were also invited to the dinner. They arrived to Fredensborg shortly before the dinner was about to begin. Both of them seemed very pleased and happy at the arrival. I guess they were looking forward to a wonderful evening with good food, music and conversations.

All covered in flashlights, Mary arrived along with her husband to the gala dinner. Crown Prince Frederik was very handsome in his black and white uniform with hat, medals and white gloves.

Mary was in a brand new black gown and matching jacket. The royal house published the story about her new outfit. As the first one, she wore brand new Armed Forces' corporate uniform for women. The gown is common for all forces and as First Lieutenant in the Army Mary is also able to wear the uniform. It is made of black satin wool and features a black belt with a golden embroidered oak tree and floral motif. So it turned out that Mary was wearing her own uniform. A very beautiful pieces of clothes. What do you think? I like the ideas of her wearing this uniform.

She styled the look with simple black Gianvito Rossi pumps and a still unidentified reused clutch. Classy and glamorous. The earrings really caught my eye. First I had an old pair of earrings in mind from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Her old one features diamond and are made of silver. It turns out to be Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen earrings, but these are golden featuring diamonds. She also wore two diamond rings from the same designer.

If you manage to find a pictures showing her lovely hairstyle then take another look. Such a stunning chignon that makes her even more beautiful. This is, by no doubt, one of my absolute favorite hairstyles.
