More than 200 Danish athletes, coaches and representatives of the Olympics and Paralympic were invited by Queen Margrethe to attend a reception at Christiansborg Palace on occasion of their participation at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, couple of months ago. One by one the guests arrived just as the royal family did around 12:30 pm. local time. First Princess Benedikte, then Prince Joachim and his lovely wife Princess Marie, followed by Crown Princess Mary who arrived accompanied by Prince Christian and his sister Princess Isabella. The Queen arrived as the last just as as rules prescribe. The Crown Prince has been involved in an accident on a trampoline which is why he wasn't attending as scheduled. It caused a fracture of the cervical spine. The fracture is treated with a neck collar, one he should be wearing for about 12 weeks. The best of luck from me. Hopefully he will get better soon.
Instead we had the pleasure of two of his lovely children at the reception which by the way was broadcasted live on Danish television. All the guests were welcomed with a handshake from the attending royals including the young prince and princess, standing right next to their beautiful mother. It was the Queen who gave a welcome speech in the Drabantsalen where the reception were taking place -you know the room with the amazing black/white floor and where the walls are covered with colourful tapestries.
Note that this event was the day before Prince Christian turned 11 years old, but of course you. The reason why these two posts got all mixed up is because I've been a little behind writing the last week.

No doubt that a lace lover like me adore Mary's new dark red lace dress! Simply magnificent. First thing I noticed was how perfectly she matched the colour on the wall where all the guests were welcomed. And even the Queen, Princess Benedikte and Princess Marie were wearing red outfits! Her beautiful new dress is from Dolce & Gabbana and now I have been able to find the right model. Every time I look at it, it become even more magnificent! Apparently this dress has been seen on Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge at at previous event, here. At the arrival to reception she was wearing her woolen grey JOSEPH coat. Grey and red what a match! Looks really amazing. Don't you think? She paired the outfit with beige Gianvito Rossi pointed pumps and a dark grey Naledi Copenhagen clutch. Another trick I have learned admiring Mary and her style for so many years, is how great pale and bright colours go together. Somehow it just look so stylish. Beautifully she embraced the glamorous style with a diamond brooch, earrings and a few rings. I wouldn't mind seeing this outfits again one day.
