Christmas has arrived

06th & 13th December

Christmas has finally arrived. At this point, we have already celebrated the second Sunday of advent and Christmas Eve is only a few weeks ahead of us. Can you believe it? For some time the Crown Prince family has lived at Kancellihuset near Fredensborg Castle, but end of October this year the family is now back at Frederik VIIIs Palace at Amalienborg.

The family has announced that they will celebrate Christmas Eve at Frederik VIIIs Palace this year. Like many others, the family will be on their own on December 24th, meanwhile Prince Joachim and his family including Queen Margrethe, will enjoy the evening at Schackenborg Castle.

The Mary Foundation also reminds us how important it is to keep our loved ones close despite the lack of physical contact. On December 1st is was all about sending a loving thought to those you have in your heart, here. From those you have close to your heart to who your angel is. Crown Princess Mary describe an angel like a symbol of someone who makes a difference to others. One that helps you when you need it most. An unexpected phone call is sometimes enough to make a big difference and give hope in a difficult time, here.

Even though Christmas might be a little different for the royal family (as well as the rest of us), something must not change: the Christmas decorations. Crown Princess Mary and her family have beautifully decorated their home and shared the atmosphere with us. Imagine how magical a castle looks in December. All the golden details, candlelights, large mirrors and Christmas decor.
