Preview of 'Concussion'

Wednesday, March 16th

Crown Princess Mary attended the preview of 'Concussion' in Copenhagen. The Crown Princess attended as patron of the Stroke Association, here, and Brain Injury Association, here.

I seem to have lost track of time these days, because it keeps surprising me that the Crown Princess is going somewhere... I missed her attendance with Crown Prince Frederik at the dinner at Christiansborg two days ago and now I missed yesterday's film preview. Thanks to you who reminded me of this. So, the Crown Princess was present at the premiere of 'Concussion' where she was accompanied by her former sister-in-law Countess Alexandra. They both attended as patron for each their patronages: the Stroke Associationthe Brain Injury Association for the Crown Princess and Countess Alexandra as patron of the Parkinson Association. It makes sense to mention because of the film's topic. It tells the story of neuropathology Dr. Bennet Omalu, who discover the fact that football players are permanently injured with brain damage caused by the sport and how they are struggling with these injuries. It is based on a true story. The film stars Will Smith, Albert Brooks and David Morse.

First Countess Alexandra arrived as guest of honor to the Imperial Cinema in Copenhagen, closely followed by Crown Princess Mary. She was welcomed by the national chairman of the Stroke Association Bruno Christiansen and national secretary of the Brain Injury Association Niels Anton Svendsen. She showed a sincere interest and joy of the film both before and after the preview. Several Danish celebrities also attended the preview.

Have to say that I was glad to see Mary and the Countess attend this event together. It is so many years since that has happened. As former sisters-in-low I'm sure they both enjoy seeing each other again. I believe the Countess was wearing some kind of grey knitted dress underneath a warm grey jacket. As Mary she had chosen knee length pointed boots. The Countess added a slash of colours to her outfit with a hot pink clutch similar to Mary's from Carlend Copenhagen.

As always Mary surprised me with her outfit. A great mix of brand new pieces and some old goodies. First, my eyes were drawn to the skirt -a shiny golden Prada (collection: fall 2004) skirt. Wonderful to see it again after all these years. She first wore it it 2004 when attending the world wide celebration of the birth of writer Hans Christian Anderesen (picture above). Then again in 2006 at a WHO reception, here, and of course we have the event in 2009 at another film premiere, here. I think 2016 is about to become a year with many more of these reused goodies. The stunning blouse is brand new and is from Ralph Lauren. It features a lovely criss-cross detail around the neck.  I like the way she matched the skirt with the blouse and red nail polish that's really beautiful. As jewellery she wore a golden Georg Jensen bracelet and a pair of round diamond earrings probably from Hartmann's. She also accessorized her outfit with a stunning Naledi Copenhagen clutch. When she wore the brown Gianvito Rossi boots at Copenhagen Fashion Week last year, here, I completely fell in love with them. This time I'm not a huge fan. Makes her look.. shorter. So, one last question: do you like the combination of the boots and skirt?
