"Monet. Beyond Impressionism"

Tuesday, August 23th

Crown Princess Mary attended the opening event for the exhibition Monet. Beyond Impressionismen in Charlottenlund.

Ordrupgaard. Sure you have heard about it before if you have been following my blog for more than a year because it's not the first time the Crown Princess has attended opening of one of their incredible art exhibitions. This time she was present at Ordupsgaard in Charlottenlund to officially open Scandinavia's biggest Monet exhibition called Monet. Beyond Impression and she got to see for herself the exhibition the day before the public. Both clearly overwhelmed and impressed by what she saw, Mary took time to take a closer look at some of the incredible Monet paintings exhibited at Ordupsgaard. It's no secret that Mary loves art, also colourful art. As you might know are almost every room at Frederik's VIIIs palace decorated with colourful and artistic paintings created by several famous artists. No doubt that this was a great experience for her. By cutting the red ribbon she officially opened the Monet exhibition.

This is what perfect is all about; matching your surroundings! Hardly believe that it's four years since we have seen her in that stunning greenish Prada dress and white lace coat. Unbelievable. It was back in 2012 at a official visit to Brazil, here, she wore the exact combination of dress and light lace coat. Great to see how beautifully you can repeat an entire outfit by adding only a few new accessories. The last four years I was sure the aesthetic white lace coat was a Miu Miu design because at that time one of their collections featured a similar design, but I have been completely wrong. By confirmation from Ole Yde, Heaven shared her findings with me about the coat, here. So a unique creation by one of the most talented Danish designers! She had styled this sophisticated and elegant looks with both a Prada clutch and matching beige pumps, her Cartier and Dulong Fine Jewelry bracelets (such as several other unidentified bracelets) and large golden Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings. Worth noticing is her lovely curly hair. It looks way longer than I remembered, maybe because I haven't seen her for a couple of weeks and I had a rather radical haircut myself. So I'm not use to such long hair. But it looks splendid! Hopefully it means we get to see some outstanding hairstyles from now on.
