'Monet. Beyond Impressionism'

Tuesday, August 23th

Crown Princess Mary attended the opening event for the exhibition 'Monet. Beyond Impressionismen', here, in Charlottenlund.

Ordrupgaard. Sure you have heard about it before if you have been following the blog for more than a year, because it's not the first time the Crown Princess has attended an opening of one of their incredible art exhibitions. This time she was present at Ordupsgaard in Charlottenlund to officially open Scandinavia's biggest Monet exhibition called 'Monet. Beyond Impression'. She got to see the exhibition for herself before the public. Both clearly overwhelmed and impressed by what she saw the Crown Princess took time to take a closer look at some of the incredible Monet paintings exhibited at Ordupsgaard. It is no secret that she loves art, especially colourful art. As you might know are almost every room at Frederik's VIIIs palace decorated with colourful and artistic paintings created by several famous artists. This was a personal wish from the Crown Prince couple. They are both art lovers. No doubt that this was a great experience for her. By cutting the red ribbon she officially opened the Monet exhibition in Charlottenlund.

This is  what 'perfect' means: matching your surroundings. I hardly believe that it is four years since we have seen her in that greenish Prada dress and white lace coat. Unbelievably. It was back in 2012 at an official visit to Brazil she wore the exact combination for the first time, here. Great to see how beautifully you can wear an entire outfit again by adding only a few new accessories. The last four years I was sure the magnificent white lace coat was a Miu Miu design. All because one of their collections features a similar creation. That turned out to be completely wrong. By confirmation from YDE Copenhagen, Heaven shared her findings with me about the coat, here. A unique design by one of the most talented Danish designers.

She had styled her sophisticated and elegant look with both a Prada clutch and matching beige pumps, Cartier and Dulong Fine Jewelry bracelets (such as several other unidentified bracelets) and large golden Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings. Worth noticing is her curly hair. It looks way longer than I remembered. Maybe it is because I haven't seen her for a couple of weeks. Also the fact that I had a rather radical haircut myself. So I am not use to long hair. But it looks splendid. Hopefully it means we get to see some outstanding updo's from now on.
