Memorial concert for Prince Henrik

20 February

A year ago, on February 20th, beloved Prince Henrik was buried. To honor his memory his wife Queen Margrethe hosted a memorial concert in his name. The concert took place Wednesday evening in the church at Fredensborg Castle. Both the Crown Prince Couple, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, several of Prince Henrik's old and close friends, representatives from the Royal House and many more attended the concert.

After the arrival, all invited were welcomed by Queen Margrethe. It was with warm and kind words she thanked everybody for their attendance. She then accompanied her family in the royal lounge.

Music was played by the Royal Danish Academy of Music reflecting Prince Henrik's love of music and poetry. On many occasions the world have had the chance to hear the Prince himself share his poems. This time there were part of the concert in memory of the man who created them.

The concert in the castle church was followed by a reception in Kuppelsalen at Fredensborg Castle. This is also were Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary danced the traditional wedding waltz. A room for all aspects of life.

Attending the memorial concert with her husband Mary had chosen a mix of reused clothes and accessories. Some of it actually goes way back in time. Think the first thing I noticed was the stunning floral skirt from Rochas. Mary first was it at the confirmation of Countess Ingrid last year, here. This time she embraced the outfit by wearing a black velvet jacket. I had an old jacket of hers in mind from 2006, here. It was first when, among others, Kate mentioned the same jacket I realized that Mary was in fact wearing the same one. A black velvet belt has been added. otherwise nothing else has changed.

Looking closer at what Mary wore at the memorial concert at Fredenborg I also noticed her wearing three different bracelets from Dulong Fine Jewelry. All in gold as her Cartier bangle. She has worn all four bracelets on so many occasions - mixed and matched with other outfits and jewellery. The same goes with the three diamond rings. Two of them are made by Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. The middle one I have never been able to identify. Her earrings was sold at an Bruun Rasmussen auction along with a tiara, here.

I also see her old burgundy box clutch from Sergio Rossi and rivets pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Especially the clutch has been one of her favorites lately. Kate mentioned to me that Mary was also wearing a new hairpiece. She shared this as a possible ID, here. Think it is the one? Mary really embraced the trend of wearing hairaccessories.

Meeting with UNFPA

06 February

Crown Princess Mary has been busy lately. She has attended both award shows, here and here, and a 10th anniversary for Advice for Life, here. In the meantime the Crown Princess also managed to hosted several meetings taking place at Amalienborg.

Wednesday afternoon she hosted yet another meeting. Crown Princess Mary met with Under-Secretary-General of Executive Director (ED) of UNFPA, Dr Natalia Kanem. She visited Denmark on on that occasion she met with the Crown Princess to talk about UNFPA's ongoing work, challenges and future projects. The Crown Princess is patron of UNFPA. The royal house also inform that the two of them discussed joint activities in the future.

A photo was taken of Dr Natalia Kanem the Under-Secretary-General of Executive Director (ED) of UNFPA and Mary to document the meeting.

It shows little of what Mary was wearing, but one thing is for sure: she wore her (very) old brown leather jacket from Prada. With the information I have, the jacket goes back to around 2005. It was first seen when she attended the premiere of 'Dear Wendy', here. The suede jacket was also worn in 2008 at the prevention of 'The Danish Integration Award 2008', here. In 2013 Mary embraced the style and wore the jacket at a visit in Spain, here. At the meeting she embraced the style by wearing it was a simple white turtleneck and diamond earrings. I like the idea of her wearing trousers, but I can't tell for sure.

The Cancer Society's Honorary Award 2019

04 February

On occasion of World Cancer Day, the Crown Princess atteneded the presentation of the Cancer Society's Honorary Award 2019. The award was handed over at Skuespilhuset in Copenhagen. The Cancer Society's Honorary Award is given to a person, group, department or someone who has made a special effort in the field of cancer.

Crown Princess Mary arrived as guest of honor to Skuespilhuset. She was in a great mood. One big smile. She was warmly welcomed with flowers, smilies and handshakes. Shortly after the arrival she entered the stage and presented the winners. This years winners are the supermarket chains Aldi, COOP, Lidl, REMA 1000, Salling Group and Magasin. The reason for them to win are because they are at the forefront of efforts to prevent children and young people from starting to smoke. Congratulations to all of them.

Attending the award show, Mary was dressed in a chic black suit. All new. The blazer reminded me of a few designers that turned out to be completely wrong. Royals & Fashion managed to identify Mary's brand new black suit at Paul Smith. What was your first thought when you saw her in that black suit? Very classy I think.

Mary embraced the style by wearing a pair of reused Gianvito Rossi pumps. These black suede pumps features studs. Wish we could see them better. It took quite a few pictures for me to determine if her black clutch box really is from Louis Vuitton as I first thought. Finally I found what I was looking for and it confirmed that Mary was in fact wearing her Louis Vuitton clutch.

A closer look also showed that she wore winter frost earrings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and diamond rings from the same designer. For years I have been in love with the beauty of Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen's winter frost collection. It just gets better and better. The golden bracelet on her right wrist is made by Dulong Fine Jewelry. For sure you noticed the medalion necklace. That is the piece made by Ragnar R. Jørgensen given to her by her husband, here. The medalion got the couples official logo (in red) on the back side. Don't think we have ever seen her wear it with the red side visible. Maybe one day.

10-years anniversary for "Advice for Life"

04 February

It was a big day, when Crown Princess Mary arrived to Ringsted Krisecenter on Monday. She was invited as guest of honor to attend the celebration of Advice for Life's 10th anniversary. Advice for Life is an initiative made by the Mary Foundation in collaboration with Mødrehjælpen, LOKK, Nykredit, Østifterne and local lawyers. The project offer free advice about, among others, economic and law for abused women.

The Crown Princess arrived in a great spirit with a big smile on her face. It was with great interest she followed the meeting. She listened, asked and acknowledge what was told. During the meeting everybody also participated in a brainstorm matters what the most important things learned from Advice for Life. The Crown Princess also participated and added her very own post-its. No doubt that the project has been a success. I look forward to followed the initiative the next 10 years.

Visiting Ringsted Krisecenter, Mary wore the most incredible outfit. Just look at the colour-combo. That is simply outstanding. Purple and grey actually looks great together. Right? Arriving to Ringsted she showed an old Massimo Dutti wool coat. Can't remember when we last saw it, but I kinda missed it. Lovely match with her grey Sandro trousers and purple blouse. The blouse is turned out to be a design by Ted Baker. We have seen it once before around Christmas last year. I wanna try this look myself right away.

Mary embraced the chic style by wearing some really pretty accessories as well. The rose quartz earrings are made by Dulong Fine Jewelry; the same designer of her golden balloon bracelet. I am sure you also noticed her brand new ring. That huge golden stone ring. No idea where it is from and I am not sure I like it very much. What do you think? Like the colours buts it's a little too much for me personally.

The tanned leather bag is Prada. We have seen this on several occasions. One of them is when she attended the 66th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe in 2016, here. And when attending OECD Forum in Paris in 2017, here. Prada is also the designer of her rather new grey ankle boots. I would really like to get more of these chic and edgy outfits. Anything you wish you see?

The Women's Board Award 2019

01 February

It has been some pretty busy days for the Crown Princess lately. She has both attended the Medal of Honor dinner for Navy officers, here, a couple of visits in Aarhus, here, the opening of the Cultural Year 2019 between South Korea and Denmark, here and the previous day she participated a meeting, here.

On February 1st the Crown Princess arrived to Egmont Publishing in Copenhagen to present Women's Board Award 2019. The award has been handed over for the first time five years ago. Women's Board Award aim to create awareness about greater diversity in the top of Danish business Also to support the process of increasing the amount of women in Danish boards. This year Crown Princess Mary entered the stage shortly after she arrived and gave a speech. She then handed over the award to Global Account Partner of IBM, Helle Valentin. Congratulations with the very find award.

Attending the presentation of the Women's Board Award 2019, Mary was dressed wearing a brand new jacket and a pleated black skirt. At first sight the jacket reminded me about something Ralph Lauren created. But it turned out that Stella McCartney is the place to go as several of you also suggested. Thanks to all of you who share your finding's about Mary's new wool jacket. She matched the new jacket with a reused pleated skirt. It was first worn back in 2014 when attending the premiere of the documentary about Asger Jorn, here. Do you remember it? Think her outfit has a 40s vibe, here. The combo of a full skirt and figure hugging jacket.

Mary embraced the style at the award show by wearing reused stretch-knit ankle boots from Gianvito Rossi. She has worn these quite a lot lately. For the first time we get a closer look at how they actually look because no trousers leg cover them. The black leather clutch is from Quidam.

As jewellery, I noticed a square-cut emerald green ring. It very much reminds me of one worn in 2015 at a tennis event, here. Do you remember it? At the time I did not find out much about the ring. Nor have I now. Please, let me know if you manage to find a closeup of her green ring. I would very much like to get a close look. A new golden ring was also noticed. It features several different colored stones. The company Maanesten agreed with me that the ring looks like one of their designs. Both bracelets are from Dulong Fine Jewelry. For sure you also noticed the beautiful butterfly brooch. It is her Mary Foundation brooch.

Meeting with Folketinget's cross-political network and...

31 January

A day previous, Crown Princess Mary visited Aarhus. She both payed a visit to the Volunteer House Trøjborg and was introduced to the initiative "Cases that Gathers', here. Later that evening she attended the official opening of the Cultural Year 2019 between South Korea and Denmark, here.

The following day, she was invited to attend a meeting with Folketinget's cross-political network and the 2030-panel. The meeting took place in Dansk Arkitekturcenter BLOX, where more than 30 representatives were gathered to discus sustainable development. That is also what Folketinget's cross-political network for UN's Worldgoals aim to - to promote the UN's 17th Sustainable Development Goals.

Little has been told about the meeting. My guess is that a great discussion gathered all of them. After all they all participated the meeting with the some purpose: to find new solutions to secure the worlds future.

In the evening Crown Princess Mary was spotted attending the Rotate Birger Christensen show on occasion of Copenhagen Fashion Week, here. The Crown Princess was dressed in, what appears to be a brand new floral printed dress from Rotate Birger Christensen, a black coat, Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and brand new purple suede boots.

Arriving to Dansk Arkitekturcenter BLOX, Mary wore her (really) old black Prada coat. I hardly imagine that it managed to keep her much warm, but it looked great with the rest of her outfit. She had chosen simple colours and a mix of different fabrics. Love that. The grey trousers we have seen on a previous occasion. She first wore them at the presentation of the Heart Associations research grants in October last year, here. This time she embraced the style by wearing a dark grey turtleneck blouse. A combo I often wear myself.

The stunning diamond earrings shaped as flowers have been found on an auction at Bruun Rasmussen. It is not the first time Mary wears them, but their beauty surprise my every time we get to see them. Imagine to wear such earrings? Even just for a moment. Maybe one day.

As other accessories we have a pair of brand new boots. At first I was sure Mary wore her old Gianvito Rossi pumps. A closer look showed that I was all wrong. Instead her pumps are boots. Kate managed to identify her new ankle boots as Prada. Last but not least, the quality leather clutch is from Quidam. With a matching belt and bordeaux nail polish Mary rocked this simple grey look.

Opening of the Cultural Year 2019 between South Korea & Denmark

30 January

Earlier that day, Crown Princess Mary visited the Volunteer House Trøjborg in Aarhus, here. On occasion of that she also payed a visit to "Cases that Gathers". Two volunteer initiatives.

In the evening, Crown Princess Mary attended the official opening of the Cultural Year 2019 between South Korea and Denmark. She attended as both guest of honor and patron of the event. For more than 60 years, South Korea and Denmark have had diplomatic relations that are now celebrated with a common cultural year for the two countries. The arrangement is set to focus on both youth and innovation in the cultural exchange. That is what the Crown Princess has accepted to represent.

The opening took place at the Art Hall Aarhus. Here numerous representatives attended the opening along with Crown Princess Mary. The southkorean artist Kim Boem has an exhibition at Art Hall Aarhus, which the Crown Princess was shown with great interest and admiration. No doubt that everyone were in a good mood during the opening of the Cultural Year 2019 between South Korea and Denmark. Let the celebration begin.

I almost missed this event. I have been a few days behind and nearly forgot all about this one. Not good. But luckily I didn't, which would also have ben quite a shame because Mary's outfit looked so nice. She had chosen to wear her old black YDE Copenhagen coat featuring incredible work of embroidery. She first wore it on occasion of Copenhagen Fashion Week 2017, here with the very same white Britt Sisseck blouse as this Wednesday. Later Mary showed up wearing the coat at the Cancer Society's Honorary Award 2018, here. I still like it and it looks great with the black trousers.

Mary embraced the chic style by wearing lovely jewellery. Unfortunately I was not able to identify all pieces. Maybe with your help I will, but I need more pictures to tell. What I was able to identify is what looks like new white pearl earrings. A first I thought it was her old ruby earrings featuring a white pearl pendant. But that is only a suggestion. She also wore her golden Cartier bangle and one from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Nor the ring or other bracelets do I recognize.

The shoes you know all about. A pair of classy pointed Valentino's, studded and in green leather. Don't thought I would ever fancy these pumps in green, but Mary know how to rock even green leather pumps. Right? You probably also noticed that little black clutch box. It is from Louis Vuitton. From what I know, we first saw the clutch back in 2009 at the premiere of "At the End of the World", here. And of course (not to forget) she styled her simple hairstyle with a hairclip.

On a visit in Aarhus

30 January

Crown Princess Mary spend her day in Aarhus, all as patron of the European Voluntary Capital Aarhus in 2018.

First, she visited the Volunteer House Trøjborg. The volunteer house is room to gathered people; where associations and clubs can hold meetings for free and unfold their activities. It is all about volunteer work and what it brings to the community. When the Crown Princess visited Trøjborg she attended the initiative "Play at the Nursing Home". Here parents on maternity leave and their children meet weekly with the nursing home residents. Nursing homes all across Denmark participated in the initiative. In Aarhus 10 nursing homes are part of the project. And what a lovely idea. Both parents, babies and the elderly who attended had a wonderful time sining and dancing. If you need a smile on your face then watch the video. I assure you; you can't help yourself from smiling.

Later in the afternoon, the Crown Princess payed a visit to "Cases that Gathers", which is a community of citizens who try help each other to solve everyday problems. During her visit she was introduced to several everyday initiatives developed by the community. Some of them also attended the meeting and got the chance to tell the Crown Princess about "Cases that gathered". It was with great interest that she listened to everything she was told. To me she seemed overwhelmed and proud on their behalf of what they have been able to accomplish.

During her day in Aarhus Mary showed the very best of her style. I am absolutely in love with her outfit. The colours are great. Arriving to Trøjborg she wore her old By Malene Birger coat - a stunning beige wool coat. It goes back to 2016. Since then we have seen her wear the coat several times, here, here, here. Mary matched the coat with a reused Britt Sisseck silk blouse and black trousers. Bet you like her blouse as much as me. The colours and pattern are simply outstanding. I can't tell for sure if we seen the trousers before, but I think we have. Such as with the belt. To me it looks like her old Céline belt.

It's all about the details, right? Mary wore plenty of outstanding accessories when visiting both Trøjborg and the "Cases that Gathers" initiative. First thing I noticed was the earrings. It is her old Dulong Fine Jewelry worn with a brand new pendant from the same designer (collection: SS19). This designer also created her two bracelets. We have seen her wear them before on numerous occasions. She also embraced the style by wearing her (truly) old Cartier watch. Feels like we haven't seen that in years, as with the Georg Jensen ring. Two incredible pieces of jewellery. I do not see a bag. Maybe she just left it in the car. The shoes are from Gianvito Rossi - a pair of black pointed ankle boots. Personally I can't get enough of her outfit. I want to try it right away.
