When I first discovered Mary's attendance at the Design Awards 2016 I have really been looking forward to the 22nd of September. Now, working with design almost everyday this award show has been so interesting to watch. Great to see who would win and the nominated designs. For Mary to attend the show is making it even better. Two of my favourite things gathered at one event. It is the interior magazines BO BEDRE, Bolig Magasinet and Costume Living who hosted the show in People's Theatre, in downtown Copenhagen. At the arrival, as guest of honor, she was warmly welcomed and guided to her seat from where she later entered the stage presenting Designer of the Year. The award was then given to the company Norm Architects. Congratulations from me to Norm Architects and all the other winners, here! By the way this is the first time Mary is present at this award show. Seems like they all had a wonderful evening with much to celebrate.

These days Mary keeps impressing, and surprising, me with her outfits! First thing I noticed is that it seems like she enjoys wearing lots of prints lately. Am I the only one noticed that? Nothing bad, I love it. Think it's great she teaches us to wear prints and patterns more often. More important how to wear them. This new black printed maxi dress can only be described with one word: elegant. Without looking overdressed she accessorized the new Alice + Olivia maxi dress with golden earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry featuring plenty of diamonds and a brand new Georg Jensen collier. It was a Royals & Fashion I found the ID on her dress, just to make sure then I wasn't the one identifying it. Actually I think it's the first time we see Mary in their design. I often wondered if we would ever see her in one of their creations and now we have. Reminds me a lot of her Etro gown, especially because of the print. Do you like it? Perfectly matching the dress she had chosen a bright blue Prada clutch and a few bracelets from among others Cartier. She also dazzled in a pair of new black sandals which was, also, identified by Royals & Fashion as Aquarzzura. I'd never heard of Aquarzzura before but I have already fallen in love with their shoes. This model was made in collaboration by Aquarzzura and Poppy Delevingne -therefor Aquarzzura (x Poppy Delevingne). I also noticed her wearing some kind of dusty lilac nail polish.  Even though I had hoped for some kind of glamours updo, this will do. Lovely curls!

  1. When I saw the very first photo of the crown princess in this dress I thought about the Erdem gown she wore to the event at Tranekær Castle, on Langeland in August 2015. Of course, the photo was quite out of focus but the black floral gown worn then, one must admit, is quite similar.

Being a huge fan of open toe sandals for evenings, I am thrilled the countess wore these "divine" looking black sandals. There is something about ankle wrap sandals that really standout and this bejeweled one is really quite special. I am glad that the countess is re-introducing these types of sandals into her wardrobe for evenings!

I love that the dress opens to the knees which allows the sandals to be seen in all their glory.

    Kind regards,

    RW.

    1. Indeed the two dresses, Erdem and this gorgeous new one, look very similar. Especially because of the colour and lovely floral print. Seems like she can't get enough of floral printed clothes right now? ;)

I have also always been a huge fan of open toe sandals; makes the best out of any evening outfit or any outfit actually. A sham we can't really see them because of the dress, but I'm sure this is the last time she will wear them. I sincerely hope she, soon, appear wearing them once again. Maybe with a pair of black trousers? Oh... I have so many ideas who to wear these. Can't wait to see them again!
