Christmas Services

December, 24th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended a Christmas service along with Prince Christian and Princess Isabella. As a tradition did Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie and Prince Henrik also attend the service. The three youngest children, Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine and Princess Athena, were waiting on the palace for their family to return. Everyone seemed to be in a really great mood, happy to attend the Christmas service. Like everything else in December, the 24th is the ultimate day to gather your family and celebrate it all together. Me all have our own traditions and this is one of those we know about who the royal family celebrate their Christmas. The last twelve year I have every single Christmas attended a Christmas service in the local church, something I will not do without. The atmosphere is just wonderful and something you need to experience yourself. I'm sure all the royal kids were exited as every other kid on Christmas Eve when they attended the services but well-behaved as always.

To celebrate this evening Mary was wearing a navy blue double breasted coat featuring golden or maybe copper buttons. I think it is the second time we see it. To find the coat has not been easy at all but now it has been identified as Prada, I tend to say -of course. I'm sure we will see it sometimes again. I have completely fallen in love with the beige leather boots with the high heel. Wauw they look good at the same time they are a match to the coat and black leather gloves.

December 25th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended a service on December 25th accompanied by Former Pastor Peter Parkov who is a close friend of the family and does always celebrate Christmas with Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik. Peter Parkov has been physically disabled and is now on crutches. Therefore, the couple helped him out of the Queen's car to get to the church service, which aroused joy with the older man.

On the 24th Mary was a little more elegant dressed but when she arrived with Frederik and Peter Parkov, she was dressed casual with a messy hairstyle, her white Prada coat and pretty expensive Quidam clutch. In all black it was great to see just some colours on this second day in church.

As for many other families it is also a tradition for the royal family to go to church during December, even more because Mary is the patron of The Royal. Danish Academy of Music's Children Choir (Det kongelige danske Musikkonservatoriums Børnekor). Often she brings her family which she did this year. The family was warmly welcomed when they arrived at the church as many of the other participating guests. Christmas is a time when we are together and have a good time, so it is also great to see the royal couple with their four wonderful children doing something very common that many Danish families are doing in December as more or less a private visit though Mary was at work. Next to his oldest sister, Prince Christian went through the church to find their seats in the front raw, closely followed by his parents and two younger siblings. On each seat was a small gift for each of the kids there was a great entertainment during the concert especially to Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine who might not quite understand yet what all of this is really about. Christian got a Rubik's Cube and Isabella, Vincent and Josephine got Plus-Plus puzzles to play with. Before the Christmas concert could begin, there was a Lucia procession through the church that helped to provide just the right atmosphere. The Lucia procession is by now become a tradition as well. The concert did that particularly the small royal children a bit restless but they behaved very nicely. An hour later the Christmas concert ended and it was time for the royal family to go back home.

In black and white Mary amazed me with her quite simple outfit. Black lace is a winner no matter what your personal style is. At the arrival to Esajas Church she was wearing a snow white coat featuring rather large buttons and pockets identified as Prada. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the model again online. To you who need to see pictures before you believe me, mail me and I will show you pictures. I love the fact that she wore her green Jewlscph earrings because it makes the lace outfit even more glamorous! A really nice detail. Here it's worth mentioning that Mary also accessorized her look with the expensive Shamballa Jewels bracelet. I not sure if she wearing a dress or a blouse and a skirt. One of my most beloved readers Pernille showed me an outfit from the Danish designer Elise Gug which have great similarity with Mary's. You know after I did the update on this post the design from Elise Gug has vanished from every site on the internet but like the Prada coat I have a picture on my computer to show you, if you need a proof of what I say is true. Matching the rest of the outfit she wore black pumps from SAND Copenhagen. A pair of shoes I really like because of the shape, it looks stunning on the foot. Makes her legs look the best and the heel is the perfect hight. I think a pair of shoes need the right hight and here we have it. I'm so lucky that Agnés has shared her photo with me and she got a perfect shot of the shiny pumps. I wouldn't mind wearing this on Christmas eve!

A Day in Herning

December, 12th

Crown Princess Mary visited the Lind Care and Activity Center in Herning at 2:15 pm. As the patron of the Danish Swimming Federation Crown Princess Mary at 3:40 pm. attended the Short Course Championships in swimming in the Jyske Bank Boxen.

Crown Princess Mary visiting the Lind Care and Activity Center

For one day has Mary traveled to Herning in Jutland and around noon she arrived to the Lind Care and Activity Center who are using welfare technology in the care of the older residents living at the care center. In a black crown car she arrived and was welcomed by Mayor Lars Krarup, Tonni Svensson who lives at the care center and area manager Hedvig Toftegaard. There were great cheers from those in attendance, kids waving with the red and white Danish flag and people with cameras. Like Mary all the attendance were very happy and in a fantastic mood. The most amazing thing was to see the older residents faces when the royal guest of honor arrival, they were so thrilled to see Mary and those who met her shone across the face. During her visit she was treated with cake and coffee along with the 125 residents, staff and other guests. There is just something unique and warm about elderly. I have always loved being with them, they have so many good stories to tell  and regardless of age we can learn from them. It makes me maudlin to see how the elderly are treated well at the Lind Care and Activity Center. One of the center's residents apartments were showcased during the visit and to me it seems like they are doing great, surrounded by things they from their life and everything that matters to them. The apparent belonged to Regitze Jacobsen who was extremely glad and honor to meet the future Queen. We need to take care of all people in our society no matter who they are. End of story. These people have worked all their lives for the country we live in today and we should thank them for what they have done for us. Sadly I haven't been able to find any pictures to share with you, because there are so so many wonderful pictures out there from the visit. Instead I found a little video which might be even better. Watch it and I will assure you that your heart will melt down.

The absolute best was to see her with the residents. See their happy faces and how much it means to them to meet Mary. I can't deny that closely followed is her outfit. Sigh. A red suit! I want one right away! If I'm correct this is the first time ever we have seen Mary in a red suit and I truly hope it will not be the last time. Red is symbolized with so many things from hate to love, no matter what it's symbolized with great power. Personally I love wearing this colour and to see Mary in a red made my day even better. Wauw. Wauw. With a white blouse, the red Hugo Boss (Fall 2013 Ready-to-wear) suit she matched the Danish flags the kids were welcoming her with. I'm sure you all noticed the lovely beige coat, by the way a fabulous colour next to the red suit, which actually is reused. The coat is at least 12 years old. Pretty cool -I think so! In 2001 Mary visited Denmark for the first time and Billed-Bladet got a picture of her, where she is wearing the exact same coat as this one. Then two, 2003, years later at the christening of Ellen Hillngsø and Christoffer Castenskiold's son, Thomas, Mary attended wearing the beige coat again. As far as I know we haven't seen it since. Till her day in Herning. It kinda makes me happy to see such and old item again because even though so many years have pasts I think she wear the coat even better today. Unfortunately I do not know who the designer is such as the brown pumps. I once heard that her pumps should be from Christian Louboutin but I doubt that. Do you happen to know anything about them? In a third brown nuance she wore a brown hand-made clutch from Carlend Copenhagen. When she took off the coat her silver lurex cardigan from By Malene Birger was visible such as a three-chain necklace featuring round pendants. At first I wasn't able to find out where who designed this new necklace. Then I realized that it's a three-chain necklace featuring a pendant with each child's initial. Long = C, Christian _ Medium = I, Isabella _ Short = V+J, Vincent+Josephine. The short necklace features two pendants. Take a look at this pictures here and I'm sure you will see what I mean. The necklace is from Danish Jewellery designer Jane Kønig. I love the fact that she is wearing a necklace with each of her children's initials. What any mother would do. The only thing that changed with her outfit from one event to the next, was that she was not wearing the silver cardigan at the swimming event. Simply because of the heat inside the swimming hall I think.

Crown Princess Mary attended the Short Course Championships in swimming

After she visited the Lind Care and Activity Center Mary attended the Short Course Championships in swimming in Jyske Bank Boksen as the patron of Danish Swimming. At the arrival to Jyske Bank Boksen she was welcomed by the volunteers at the event. This year it is the first time European Championships in swimming at the short course for seniors is held in Denmark. The Championships lasts from December 12th to 15th. I think one reason why she was wearing these specific colour might be because she was also attending a the Short Course Championships in swimming and wanted to represent Denmark in the best way, supporting the participants. Seems like it worked because the Danes won! It was a Danish record and world record in the girls relay. The Danish team was Pernille Blume, Jeanette Ottesen, Kelly Riber Rasmussen and Mie Ø. Nielsen, who won in distance 4x50 meter free. I congratulate the team with the victory! They girls was also congratulate by Mary who handed over the golden medals. Rikke Møller Pedersen was lucky to get a photo of her and Mary, you see below. With this photo we can also see the white blouse she wore much better.

Så blev det en fantastisk aften. Dansk rekord og verdensrekord i pigernes holdkap. Ja og så mødte jeg lige Hendes Kongelige Højhed Prinsesse Mary, som er ambassadør for dansk svømning :)

This event was scheduled to Crown Prince Frederik but Mary stepped in instead of him in the last minute because Frederik secretly just travelled to Afghanistan to visit the Danish troops. As a couple there are there to help each other and I love that he did not canceled his royal appearance but send his wife instead. I know how important it is for people that the royals actually show up and make it a more prestigious memory. 9:00 am. Mary arrived to University of Copenhagen attending the Niels-Bohr-conference. At the opening she will hear some of the keynote speakers, including the American historian Richard Rhodes who is the author of books about nuclear power and analysis of physicist Niels Bohr's work. During the conference she also attended the speech by the Secretary General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano, who's speech was on contemporary issues concerning nuclear power. It all take place in the ceremonial hall at University of Copenhagen on occasion of the 100th anniversary of Niels Bohr' three world-famous articles in a physics journal, in which he outlined his new atomic theory. The conference takes starting point in Niels Bohr's later thoughts that the physicist formulated in an open letter to the UN in 1950. The letter argued for the necessity of an open world with sharing of scientific and technical knowledge between nations seen the light in the contemporary concern about the use of nuclear power in warfare. Below you see a picture of the man himself: the famous Niels Bohr. Taken in 1961.

Even this was a last minute job Mary was in a great mood and beautiful dressed in a classy black suit. But I need to start somewhere else today because I must say that I admire that she attended the opening of the conference in Copenhagen with bare legs. It's December and pretty cold. How is that even possible? Is she never getting cold wearing no sheer tights? I would become ill right away. And then she's wearing a scarf at the same time, it really does not make sense to me at all. Well Mary, you are a cool woman. The powder pink lace scarf was one of the first thing I noticed maybe because of the black suit. At the same time it was a great match to the beige Prada clutch she had chosen to wear as well. I like a little colour next to the black that makes it both edgy and feminine. By the way, her asymmetric jacket featuring a belt, I believe we have seen before but I can't remember when or where. Something you remember? I really like that scarf, clutch and shoes matched this well. Talking about shoes I am so so glad to see these patent Prada pumps again with the black cap-toe and heel. Usually I'm not at all a fan of two coloured shoes especially in a patent material but this Prada-model are a fantastic match of colours. I always imagined that they are quite comfortable to wear. She makes it seems so easy to walk in them. I know it's all about training and a little bit of practice but wauw I would love love to try these on. She accessorized her December-last-minute-look with golden earrings and bracelets as well as her rhinestone brooch from Elise Gug. This is how to use black in a brilliant way by wearing blushed accessories.

Christmas Reception at Amalienborg Castle

December, 4th

Crown Princess Mary hosted a Christmas reception at Amalienborg Castle for the partners working with the Mary Foundation.

It has become a tradition for Mary and her foundation to host a Christmas reception for the partners working and supporting the Mary Foundation and their work. This year was no exception. They were all invited to glögg/gløgg and æbleskiver. To you who have no idea what this is, don't worry I'm about to tell you because I understand if you haven't heard it. Glögg/gløgg is a drink with its history back in Germany called glühwein. It's made of among others red wine, snaps, brown rom, madeira, oranges, lemon, cinnamon, star anise etc. You drink it hot. It tastes a little spicy and if you get too much of it you will for sure get drunk ;) Æbleskiver (in Danish) and I'm not sure they have an english name but in Denmark we love them. Æbleskiver are made of  primarily pancake dough, which in a dumpling pan fried in a round shape. They are really delicious! If you get the change to try these two things someday, do it. Eaten with jam or icing sugar. So now you know what they had to drink and eat. They we gathered in the tapestry hall. I'm sure they had a great time talking about this and that. Mary got the change to talk to among others with CEO Helle Østergaard and associate professor, Ph.D. and Centre Dorthe Bleses about children's language development, one of the Mary Foundations
workspaces. There was plenty of time to talk about the different projects and the results the foundation has achieved in the past year and maybe also about new projects? Who knows.

The purple Prada dress was a really great choice for her to wear at the Christmas reception! It's a dress we have seen many times before at several occasions over the years, still I think it's magnificent. The shape suits her very well and the dark purple colour looks amazing with the dark hair colour. When she has worn the dress before, it's often accessorized with items in the same purple colour and that was sort of also the case at yesterdays outfit. She matched her diamond earrings from Cenius & Bach featuring a squared amethyst pendant. Pure glamour! With the standard good-looking hairstyle and elegant makeup, which did also contain the colour purple, I think she completed her look beautifully. As the only black item she wore the diamond watch from Cartier with a black strap. The story tells that Frederik gave Mary a Cartier watch on the day of their wedding in 2004 and I'm pretty sure it's this one. A silver Cartier watch featuring diamonds and a interchangeable strap. Seen with a purple and black strap, although black is what we are most often. On the other hand she wore her Shamballa Jewels bracelet with gold chain and the pink argyle ball. One of the basic thing she wear right now, a piece of jewellery no one else then her is able to buy. With a bright coloured dress Mary was wearing patent nude pumps from the same designer as the dress, Prada. Seen at all kind of events but I'm sure we all remember them from one specific day -when the twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine were christened. An outfit she was praised for by all journalists, bloggers and designers.

Startupbootcamp Mobility Investor Day

November, 28th
Photo @Agnés Colbert
Crown Princess Mary attended the opening of the Startupbootcamp Mobility Investor Day at Copenhagen city hall.

What is Startupbootcamp Mobility Investor Day?
The ambition was clear in 2010 when the first Startupbootcamp program was held -to help startups in Europe to make an alternative to the big programs in the US. Now three years later the third program is based in Copenhagen of small accelerator tapping into the region's strengths in mobile technologies and solutions but now as Europe's largest accelerator. This year more than 40 countries were gathered to ten startups. On November 28th the remaining nine companies were ready to show 150 investors their company and take it to the next level. Read more here

Half past twelve Mary arrived by car to Copenhagen City hall to attend the opening of the Startupbootcamp Mobility Investor Day were 150 investors were gathered to bring nine companies till the next level. This day is the opportunity for these nine future companies. The royal guest was welcomed on the red carpet, then she was ready to meet the nine CEOs before the pitching started. The city hall were packed with all the investors who were ready to meet and hear much more about the exciting projects developed by the nine companies which was ready to show the outcome of a 3-month work the nine startups had gone through. They had been working really hard to get here today; lots of different workshops, mentoring and most of all long working hours. It takes everything to get so far. The city hall was beautifully decorated to welcome Mary and the 150 investors. The Managing Director of Startupbootcamp Mobility, Lars Buch, opened the day with the words: "Our job is to find the right fish in the sea, and I believe we have succeeded." The nine projects fighting to get each their investors are: Projektor35 - Kiggit (the only Danish group) - Pergunter - EasySize - Passnfly - Wallept - Stopandgo - Funifi - Dealcircle. Working with anything and everything from launching new data browsers to a new affiliate function.

Lovely as always, Mary was dressed in different shades of blue at the opening of the Startupbootcamp Mobility Investor Day. Because of the black pencil skirt, the blue piece of clothes almost 'popped' out especially the printed L.K. Bennett peplum. I want to thanks Debbie because she told me where to find this edgy new peplum. Matching a peplum blouse and a pencil skirt makes a great outfit every time. I would say that this combination would suit everybody, regardless of size, height, age or style. Peplums have been quite popular the last few years and I think we will see them as much in 2014. A timeless shape will always be popular. Before we even got the change to see what she wore, she arrived wearing a nice blue coat from Prada featuring the characteristic large buttons and relatively large pockets and collar. Coats must be a princesses' best friend and when you do like Mary, often wear colourful coats, your coat become a part of the whole outfit. Fashionistas have a little rule I think I will share with all of you because it will help you finding the right outfit and I can use Mary as an example. It's called the 3-piece rule. As the names says, you find the perfect balance between clothes and accessories when to choose your outfit. With others words, focus on three items for instance: skirt, blouse and coat like Mary did. Without the coat it would be: skirt, blouse and earrings. Since I started using this 'rule' in practice, it is much easier for me to put together an outfit. Back to Mary's opening look. The natural makeup and hairstyle gave all the attention to the clothes.  She accessorized her look with a black patent belt from Celiné and what I believe is her Cartier watch featuring small diamonds and a black strap. I would so much like to wear a watch more often but I have a hard time matching it with my style and personality. She matched the SAND Copenhagen pumps with the expensive Carlend Copenhagen clutch made of crocodile. Not to forget the beautiful earrings designed by Marianne Dulong with the blue pendant in the exact same colour as the coat. I love when two or more pieces have the same colour, so this made me really happy to see. Dulong created these earrings to be worn with several different pendants. Clever!

LæseLeg with the Mary Foundation

November, 26th
Photo @Agnés Colbert

Crown Princess Mary visited the kindergarden Troldehøj in Helsingør because of the Mary Foundation's project Reading Games (LæseLeg) which is used in the kindergarden.

What is Reading Games / LæseLeg?
Reading Games / LæseLeg is a educational materials that strengthen children's language and self-confidence by actively involving them in reading stories. The project was launched in 2011 developed by the Mary Foundation. Today over 900 different institutions uses the project which aims to involve children from the age 3-6 years old. You find more information on the project here.

It was a very proud Crown Princess and chairman of the Mary Foundation who arrived to Helsingør  to spend some hours with Troldehøje kindergarden and its children. The kindergarten is just one of the 500 new users of LæseLeg the last year. The project is created to improve children's language and social interaction. Troldehøje kindergarden is a perfect example of who the project can help the children.

Mary was invited to attend some of the children's creative activities which is a essential part of LæseLeg such as visualizing the words through pictures. Right from the arrival Mary was down on the floor to talk with the kids and with great excitement they told her about all the things they had made and showed her their drawings. Before she took the time to focus on the children she spoke about how our language develop when we play. It's a completely other way to learn but most children find it much easier to learn through plays. She expressed her concern for the children who have only a very little language translations of it most often stands in the way of other socialization. Such as Mary, did Helle Østergaard CEO of the Mary Foundation reminded everybody about the importance of the work that Troldehøje do to the children by working with their language and vocabulary. Language can be an obstacle when they get older, this can be prevented by doing something about the problem before it actually becomes a problem, which Social-, children- and Integration Minister also emphasized the importance of.

At last Mary expressed how happy she was to see such progress and how Troldehøj works intensively to help the kids as much as possible. Before Mary had some time on her own, some parts of LæseLeg were demonstrated which she watched with great interest along with the Mayor of Helsingør Johannes Hecht-Nielsen, language tutor Jette Løntoft and Social-, children- and Integration Minister. To all kids excitement did Hr. Skæg (a figure from a Danish children broadcast) also attend and entertained by reading a book.

Four words to describe her outfit: grey business looks rocks! She defied the Danish weather and had bare legs under the stunning grey, new, lace skirt. That kind of skirt we see everywhere on the catwalk, especially with the shorter petticoat. Even though Mary wear trends we see right now everywhere, she wear it like the was the one who invented it. The pencil skirt is a true classics, as a lace pencil skirt it's super chick. The style reminds me a lot of Danish Heartmade by Julie Fagerholt or Dolce & Gabbana because they often uses lace in their designs. The new black jacket gave the look a touch of attitude and is perfect for a November day. The jacket has been identified as WILLOW.

I wouldn't mind look like this at work and with the grey patent belt perfectly matching her Rupert Sanderson pumps, in the same colour, she rocked a day in grey! Grey is one of my favourite colours to wear in the fall and winter because of my blond hair. Not to forget her pumps are not new, she has worn the a several different occasions before this one but it took me forever to identify them. Now I'm sure I have the right designer. I don't know if you can go crazy of a pair of earrings? -well I can. I absolutely adore her new Marianne Dulong earrings featuring the little pendant. Those I have linked you down below aren't quite the same because the pendant are different but I'm sure they are from Dulong. I think she wore her Shamballa Jewels bracelet as well. You see her hairstyle on the picture above where you might also get a glimpse of the new golden earrings. Once again I want to thanks Agnés Colbert for letting me share her amazing photos with all of you!

First Aid Education

November, 21st
Photo @Agnés Colbert

Crown Princess Mary attended as patron of the Heart Association (Hjerteforeningen) a first aid training at Randersgade school, a heart exercise classes at Copenhagen Municipality's Prevention Center (Københavns Kommunes Forebyggelsescenter) and attended Heart Association's scholarship award 2013 (Hjerteforeningens Legatuddeling).

Program: Copenhagen
  • 1:00 pm. She attended a first aid training at Randersgade School in Copenhagen.
  • 2:00 pm. Visited a cardic exercise group on a Preventions Centre in City of Copenhagen.
  • 3:00 pm. Crown Princess Mary handed over the Heart Accosiations scholarship award 2013  at Bettey Nansen Theatre.
The Heart Association / Hjerteforeningen
The Heart Association / Hjerteforeningen is the second largest organization in Denmark working with research on cardiovascular diseases, such as prevention of heart diseases and patient support. They have more than 136,000 members. The association is a private organization working for donations and they provide financial support to Danish research with about DKK 25 million. Their four main values: to Courage - Recovery - Proximity - Credibility. Read more about the Heart Association / Hjerteforeningen here

First aid training is an important part of the essentials we need to be able to do. With only a little training we will be able to save people's lives. It takes so little for us to save another mans life. The first aid training give us the tools we need when to save a life. I need to admit that I do not master a first aid other than the few basics. Fortunately, I have never been in need of it, but it does not mean that I should not know how to do. I believe that if you need to help, in a stressful situation, you can. I think it will surprise many what we as a human can in stressful situations. In recent years in Denmark it has become more common that children learn about first aid in school, which is good because children learn 'easier' and if they know how to provide first aid from the start, they will never forget it. A little bit like learning how to ride a bike. As patron of the Heart Association (Hjerteforeningen) it is obvious for Mary to support learn about first aid when they go to school. And that was what she did a few days ago at Randersgade School in Copenhagen. With happy kids everywhere Mary arrived to Randersgade School. She was welcomed by all the children that was handing gifts to her. All this made her laugh because all of them wanted her attention. Inside the schools gym hall she attended a first aid class where the kids were taught how to handle first aid when needed. As always Mary was on the floor along with the kids talking and listening to them about the importance of first aid training. On red mats kids from the school showed what they have learned on, pretty realistic, plastic dolls. As member of the Danish Home Guard Mary has also learned about first aid and how to do. This was a part of the education before becoming a member. So of course Mary was ready to show a few tricks! Despite the fact that it was something important subject, Mary also had time to laugh and have a good time with the kids. An hour later she visited a cardiac exercise group on a Preventions Centre in City of Copenhagen where she met some of those who have a heart disease. They told about how they have been able to deal with their illness and how they try to improve their health. Her last event on November 21st was attending the Heart Association Scholarship award 2013 at Betty Nansen Theatre.

We are in late November and the weather in Denmark it's pretty cold already which means we need to wear all the warm clothes we can. Often Mary have one visit per day on a hour or so. A combination of this means only warm clothes. With a pair of long black trousers and her old Prada jacket featuring sequin details she rocked a everyday look. I think she was wearing something woolen underneath the jacket because as far as I know it's not that warm. The most common is for her to wear ankle boots with such trousers and to me it looks like a pair of her Prada ankle boots but I can't say for sure. At the arrival I spotted a large scarf, her Carlend Copenhagen clutch and a Shamballa Jewels bracelet. The beautiful and feminine Ole Lynggaard earrings/rings makes me happy every single time she wears them. True everyday glamour! With these jewellery she showed that just a few pieces of jewellery make the difference.

Business visit at Carlsberg

Crown Princess Mary attended the presentation of the Mary Foundations work, results and goals at Carlsberg. The Mary Foundation received a donation from Carlsberg at DKK 50,000. Carlsberg is one of the eight co-founders of the Mary Fund.

In 2004 when Mary married Frederik DKK 1.1 million were collected in Denmark and Greenland and given to the couple as their wedding gift. With these many millions Mary had the idea of making a foundation working with social problems, where social isolation played a major role, in Denmark. With this wish the idea of making the Mary Foundation - H.R.H. Crown Princess Mary's Foundation was started and in 2007 it was established. A year later, 2008, the foundations first project was launched. Eight co-fonders have supported their work financially which of course has given the foundation a solid ground to grow from. As one of the co-founders of the Mary Foundation, Carlsberg has been involved in pioneering work, they have supported their aims and goals and with this support, and money, the Mary Foundation now have the ability to help vulnerable areas in Denmark such as domestic violence against women, loneliness and bullying among children. The other seven co-founders of the Mary Foundation are: Det Obelske Familiefond, LEGO Holding A/S, Nykredit, Oak Foundation, Oticon Fonden, Poul Due Jensens Fond, Remmen Fonden, TrygFonden smba. and Villum Fonden. It was Mary and CEO Helle Østergaard who presented the Mary Foundation's work and results such as which goals they have in the future with their projects, to the employees at Carlsberg. Helle Østergaard presented three of the foundation's work, among others the Free of Bullying-project (Fri  for Mobberi). And as the chairman of the Mary Foundation, Mary talked about the foundation's vision which is to give everyone access to the community, to let everyone know that they belong. Jørgen Buhl Rassmussen had the opportunity to tell Mary about Carlbergs history and who they have managed to develop. At the same time he got the change to express his thoughts about the Mary Foundations work. Mary responded by thank Carlsberg for their support back in the building phase.

No one wear a black suit like Mary! Everything fits and looks great. Now I already reviled what she wore but my excitement is not to control. Despite the fact that the visit at Carlsberg was more of a private visit she convinced me that public or not, a black suit is still so fashionable. This black and white outfit would work perfectly at any occasion, everyday and with a pair of earrings or colourful shoes you have the perfect evening outfit. It is really a great classic business look and with the white Elise Gug, worn at a visit to New York earlier this year, it's timeless. I'm so sure we will see the blouse much more in the future, maybe with a skirt? Because almost every designer have created a black suit it's really hard for me to tell who designed this one. Hugo Boss is known for their classic business style, so that would be my guess. Ralph Lauren could also be the designer we are looking for. She added a pair of black pumps and her natural makeup fulfilled her outfit at her day at Carlsberg. Not that many pictures have been published and the only where I actually see her pumps I can't recognize them. What I can tell you is just that they are black. I know that's not much. And of course, she wore her beautiful golden Shamballa Jewels bracelet featuring a pink diamond ball. The story tells that the pink diamond ball are taken from another one of her bracelets, also Shamballa Jewels, and transformed into this sparkling wonder.

United States Agency for International Development

November, 19th

Crown Princess Mary met the Administrator of the USAID, Dr. Rajiv Shah for information about USAID's global development activities and plans. The meeting took place at Frederik VIII's Palace in Copenhagen.

Who are they?
The USAID stand for United States Agency for International Development and it the leading U.S. Government agency working with extreme poverty worldwide such as enable resilient and democratic societies to realize what great potential they have. Read more about the USAID here.

On Monday Mary was ready to meet Dr. Rajiv Shah, Administrator of USAID at Frederik VIII's palace, Amalienborg, to get more information about the United States Agency for International Development global plans and activities. She was pictures with Dr. Rajiv Shah and the American Ambassador HE Rufus Gifford. Gathered around a large round table in one of the homes meeting rooms. Here she was informed about the USAID's future plans. With great commitment Mary was listening carefully to what they all had to say. Mary was photographed with Dr. Rajiv Shah and American Ambassador HE Rufus Gifford after the meeting.

Looking professional and sophisticated she attended the meeting. I absolutely love everything about her outfit. Wearing a matching navy blue blouse and trousers made her look much 'longer' than usual. Visible she looks higher wearing clothes in the same colour. It is one of my favourite colours and next to her dark brown hair it looks even better. We do not often see Mary wear a suit like this and I think the unexpected clothes is the reason why I love that much. I haven't been able to find out where non of the items are from but I would really like to know who the designer is. The pony tale gave her a straight and clean look, feminine at the same time. She accessorize the outfit with diamond earrings, her Shamballa Jewels bracelet and black patent pumps. The only thing I have been able to find is the tiny black bow belt which is from Prada.

Day 3: Official Visit in Mexico

November, 13th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary are right now in Mexico with Danish Health Minister Astrid Krag and a business delegation on 52 companies to focus on the trade between Denmark and Mexico. The visit began on November 11 and the 13th was their last day in Mexico after the three day visit.

  • 11:15 am. The Crown Prince visited the state-owned oil company Pemex in Mexico City.
  • 12:15 pm. The Crown Prince participated in a meeting with representatives of the Danish business delegation, the Federal Electricity Commission and makers.
Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary's program
  • 1:45 pm. The Royal couple attended a reception with health care system and with representative from Denmark.
  • 2:45 pm. Attended a reception for The Danish Colony in Mexico and friends of Denmark.
  • 3:35 pm. The couple visited the ABC Hospital where Danish health solutions were presented.
Crown Princess Mary's program
  • 5:00 pm. Visited the Diarq Foundation, which aims to help women victims of domestic violence, among other things to offer accommodation in a protected house.

It was Frederik who began on his own the third and last day in Mexico. The couple have stayed in Mexico the last three days with a business delegation on 52 companies and with the Danish Health Minister Astrid Krag to help improve the trade between the two countries in the future. In about two and a half hour Frederik managed to attend three different events. First he visited the Sigma Alimentos factory in Tula that produces and supplies frozen food, next he visited Pemex in Mexico City and last he participated in a meeting with the business delegation form Denmark, the Federal Electricity Commission and makers. Around noon both of them attended a reception with the health care system and with representative from Denmark followed by a reception for The Danish Colony in Mexico and friends of Denmark. I think it was very clear this last day of their stay what the real reason for their visit was. They participated in several different events during the day to develop the relationship between them and us -Denmark and Mexico. Together with the Health Minister and the business delegation, Frederik and Mary represented Denmark perfectly.  When visiting The Danish Colony in Mexico and friends of Denmark around 100 guests from the Danish colony met the couple with sparkling eyes and a wide smile. They got the chance to tell the couple a little bit about their life in South America. The royal couple met both young and old Danes who all live in Mexico. Many of the participant guests attended with their Mexican wife or husband, girlfriend or boyfriend. Afterwards the couple visited the ABC Hospital where Danish health solutions were presented to them during the visit. They both showed an interested in their work and how the health solutions might be able to help many people in the future. On her own Mary attended their last visit, which was a visit to the Diarq Foundation which aims to help women who have been victims of domestic violence. They are among other things offered a save and protected home. The press wasn't allowed inside when Mary got at chance to talk to some of the women who have been given help. Hearing their stories clearly moved her. This was the last visit on the trip to Mexico and I have to say I think it have been a wonderful trip, something I'll remember that is for sure.

During their last day Mary showed us some good old stuff. The first thing we all noticed was of course the black floral printed Ralph Lauren (Blue Label collection) dress, or that was what I saw as the first thing. Maybe it is because I love that dress so much, with the white roses and all. Ralph Lauren's designs are so romantic and classy. Mary in this dress is pure love to me. Really made me happy to see her wear it again. Even though it's just black and white the print makes it much more exciting. Nothing boring about it. From one event to another she wore her simple black Prada coat worn at multiple occasions.  A coat like this you can wear any day, any time a year. Underneath she kept her arms warm with a matching black cardigan. To match her beige Christian Louboutin pumps with the rest of the outfit is clever of her, they give the exact amount of femininity this outfit needs. Another classic accessories I love her for having added to her look is the grey Chanel body-cross bag featuring the characteristic chain shoulder strap and logo at front. What is special about this bag isn't the designer nor the model but the pattern. That is very unique and special compared to the original Chanel bag. We did not see much colour but the little we actually did see I really love! The brand new Marianne Dulong earrings featuring a red pendant and a diamond in the middle. The only thing you can do I love them for their simple and feminine design. Natural makeup as always highlighting all her best features and of course the timeless hairstyle. A brilliant way to end a great trip to Mexico, don't you think? Glad I got to share all of this with you.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary during their second day in Mexico City

Yet another business day in Mexico! Their second day began with a seminar at the St. Regis Hotel in Mexico City. Among other Frederik got at chance to have a little chat with the Mexican Energy Minister Pedro Joaquin Coldwell which he was also photographed with. The royal couple attended three different seminars dealing with three different areas food, healthcare and industry: Food Ingredients and optimization seminarHealthcare seminar and Agro Industry and food technology seminar. These three areas are the main reason why Frederik and Mary are visiting Mexico these days, to improve and develop the trade of these things better in the future between Denmark and Mexico. Around 1:00 a clock local time, they were headed to attend the opening of Mexico's first bicycle barometer. The aim is to make Mexico City a more bicycle-friendly city and the best example is Denmark. The perfect combination because Denmark is one of the most well known cities in the world to use our bicycles. I'm sure Mexico use what we do in Denmark to develop their new barometer. Actually the barometer are produced in Denmark. Health Minister Astrid Krag did also attend the opening like mayor Miguel Angel Mancera. Three hours later the couple attended another opening this time of a exhibition on sustainable Danish design at Soumaya Museum also in Mexico City. Entering the stage in her brand new silk Max Mara Studio drew, our beautiful Mary gave a speech at the opening. Because fashion is such a huge industry it's where sustainable really can make a difference, as Mary advocates. Attending an event like this it would have been very appropriate for her to wear a dress that's made sustainable. But the fact that she is supporting the concept is great to me.

When we are talking fashion let's keep on doing that. Because I really want to say some more about the Max Mara dress featuring the most wonderful Chinese blossom print in breathtaking dusty colours - just as I love them. Because it was a windy day in Mexico City she chose to wear a reused white shawl but I did only cover her upper body. At the exhibition on sustainable design we finally got to see the whole dress. I loved it before and even more after. A very beautiful dress featuring stunning details to look at for hours. I also like the way she chose a beige belt to mark her waist. Her dark brown were done in a half updo seen multiple times before over the years. It's a classic. Something else we have seen a million times are the Marianne Dulong earrings and bracelet such as the Shamballa Jewels. Another classic item is the Carlend Copenhagen clutch in the stunning brown colour. A great match in my opinion. Do we ever get tired of these accessories? -high quality, timeless design and colour. I don't think so. On her feet she wore the one and only simple pump from Christian Louboutin.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attending a gala dinner in the evening

After a long day it all ended them attending a gala dinner in the evening with the Danish ambassador as host. It took place at the magnificent and overwhelmingly beautiful restored abby ex. Convento de San Hipólito. In the dark the guest were sitting at round tables only lightened up by candles. In the middle music was playing to entertain all the invited guests. And of course any gala dinner gets a little better if Frederik and Mary participated. A night get that magic sparkle it needs to become fulfilled. Honestly I am pretty sure the guests were not disappointed. Mary in her red dress and silver accessories sparkling in the camera light and Frederik dressed in a his black suit and blue tie they welcomed all the guests with a smile and glimpse in their eyes. Wish I was the one attending that dinner! Haven't you never wished to attend at gala dinner with Frederik and Mary?

...and she did it once again! Mary in her red V-neck dress really surprised me in a good way. Often women tend to chose black dresses to an evening dinner, many of the invited guests wore black. But not our dazzling Mary. She is unique such as her style. It was so clever of her to wear the eye-catching dress with silver accessories. The perfect way to shine, if that is even possible. I have to say I think Mary looks breathtaking at the evening dinner. Actually it's the second time we see her in that dress I love so much but the first time you didn't really noticed it. Do you recall when? It was in 2012 at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in London. At then she was photographed with Princess Charlene of Monaco. Back then she also wore the dress with silver accessories - belt and a cardigan. You see a photo of the two royal women below. Since then I haven't found out who the designer is, maybe you happen to know something? I know a little more about where the accessories are from. According to Royal Regal the earrings are custom made to Mary by Marianne Dulong. You can change the pendant that is why they look of them are so different every time we see them. Before Royal Regal gave the information that Marianne Dulong was the actual designer, my mind came across several possible jewellery designers but non of them seemed to be the right one; now I know why. The metallic silver belt and clutch matched perfectly! The amazing and expensive silver bangle watch is created by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe for Georg Jensen. A fantastic piece of work I wouldn't mind wearing.

Another piece of jewellery I wouldn't mind wearing is the ring on her right hand. This is the second time we see her wear it, at a evening dinner in 2011 when Frederik and Mary visited Australia with the twins for the first time. The ring features three red jewellery stones surrounded by diamonds. What I'm telling you know about this ring is not something I have been able to confirm at all but what I read is that the ring once belonged to the former Queen Alexandrine of Denmark. She got married to Crown Prince Christian X of Denmark. I think she wore it as a brooch on her engagement photo, here. You have to take a very close look at the photo to see it but I'm pretty sure it's the same.

Day 1: Official Visit in Mexico

November, 11th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary are on official visit in Mexico from November 11 to 13 as head of a Danish business delegation. They will be accompanied by Health Minister Astrid Krag and a business delegation of 52 companies. The visit focuses on Danish and Mexican trade in health and welfare, agriculture and food, energy and climate-friendly technology.

Program:
  • 10:00 am. Visiting the CTDUCA Foundation and their work with education and care for people with Down Syndrome.
  • 11:00 pm. The couple visited the Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City where they were introduced to the history of Mexico and the museum's three main galleries.
  • 1:00 pm. The couple were officially welcomed to Mexico by President H.E Enrique Peña Nieto and First Lady Angélica Rivera de Peña in the presidential residence in Mexico City.
  • 3:10 pm. Visiting the Papalote Children's Museum in Mexico City. During the visit the couple met Mexican children from The Denmark School.
  • 4:10 pm. The couple participate in the ceremony "Key to the City" with mayor of Mexico City Miguel Ángel Mancera.
  • 8:30 pm. Participated in a charity concert by the Danish band the Raveonettes. The concert took place in El Plaza Condesa in Mexico City.

Only a month ago our favourite royal couple went on a official visit to Australia and now they are going on a three-day official visit to Mexico with Danish Health Minister Astrid Krag and a 52 company business delegation to focus on improving the trade between Denmark and Mexico in among others healthcare and welfare, climate-friendly technology and agriculture. Their three-day visit is packeted with different activities and places to be from the morning till late evening. If I'm correct the couple arrived to Mexico yesterday and was on November 11 ready to spend their day with the Mexican citizens. Their day started at 11:00 am. by visiting the CTDUCA Foundation. The foundation works with education and care taking of people with Down Syndrome. During the visit they royal couple were presented including how a certain dietary supplements can help to improve the cognitive abilities of people with Down syndrome. With big smiles on their lips Frederik and Mary got to talk and meet some of the children connected to the foundation while they were cocking. To me it's wonderful to see how we give these people a second chance, helping them to get better in the everyday etc. I have a cuisine who was born with Down Syndrome and I makes me happy to see how to help these children in every possible way. Makes me happy to see all of them smile. An hour later the couple went on to the next visit at the Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City where they were introduced to the history of Mexico and the museum's three main galleries. I think it must have been a fascination visit seeing some of the Mexican history because let us admit it, Mexico have a really interesting ancient history with myths, cultural stories etc.

Often on a official visit like this Frederik and Mary are official welcomed by the hosted as one of the first things. This time the couple were welcomed by President H.E Enrique Peña Nieto and First Lady Angélica Rivera de Peña in the presidential residence in Mexico City, afterwards. And of course no visit without a little fun. Around noon they visited the Papalote Children's Museum. During the visit the couple met Mexican children from The Denmark School and their LEGO-buildrings as a part of the LEGO-workshop. The children here get the chance to build their own future city and at the same time learn about environmental friendliness. In the afternoon attended the Royal Couple in the ceremony Key to the City with the Mayor of Mexico City, Miguel Ángel Mancera. At the ceremony the royal couple were presented with the key to the city, which symbolically give them free access to Mexico City. What a guests! When the clock turned 8:30 pm., local time, in the evening they attended a concert with the Danish band Raveonettes at El Plaza Condesa.

This first day Mary showed us her femininity wearing the most stunning floral peplum! So wonderful featuring the large white roses. I have been able to identify the new romantic peplum and I found it at Dolce & Gabbana. It was a little surprising to see her wearing a floral peplum, because we have only seen her in plain cloud blouses like these. But I love that she try something new. Not many of us are that good a wearing prints or at least I'm not. Don't know about you. This is an item I would so much love to see again maybe with a pair of white trousers? I think it would look as good as the white pencil skirt. Give me the feeling us summer, sun and long nights. She accessorized the outfit with Marianne Dulong jewellery, classic white pearl jewellery.  I remember telling you that her beautiful silver ring featuring the large white pearl was most likely inherited from her mother-in-law, Queen Margrethe, but I was completely wrong. A friend of mine, Pernille, gave me the clue that proved another truth. Jewellery designer Marianne Dulong uses a special file technique which has been seen on her ring. That is why we must assume Dulong has created this as well. She matched the rest of the outfit with a beige Naledi Copenhagen (Fall/Winter 2011/2012) clutch and patent leather pumps from Jimmy Choo. I read somewhere else she was wearing Christian Louboutin shoes but I'm quite sure that is not true.
