"Nature and our mind - The Crown Princess by the North Sea"

30 November 2023

About a week ago or so, it was announced that Crown Princess Mary would be participating a new documentary about natures impact on our mind. A documentary called "Nature and our mind - The Crown Princess by the North Sea".

The documentary is broadcasted by Denmark's Radio (also known as DR). It has premiere on November 30th (here).

The Crown Princess was accompanied by Doctor Peter Qvortrup Geisling when meeting three people, who have used nature to create peace and balance in their lives. It is the Crown Princess herself who have chosen the three different places (in nature) to meet these three brave Danes. Places that can both be wild and calm - just like the mind.

Presentation of the EliteForsk Prizes

23 August

The presentation of EliteForsk Prizes has become an annual event. An event, Crown Princess Mary has attended for several years. The EliteForsk Prizes have been handed over each year since end of 2007 by the Danish Ministry of Education and Research. The prizes are given to the leading researchers in each their field with the aim of creating awareness about research in Denmark.

Minister of Education and Research, Jesper Petersen welcomed the Crown Princess when she arrived to the ceremony. A little later, they both entered the stage and presented each their recipient of the EliteFork Prizes. The five recipients are Professor Anders Engberg-Pedersen, Professor Gemma Flare Solomon Larseno, Professor Eva Boxenbaum, Professor Signe Nordmand (who was not able to attend the ceremony) and Chief Physician Emil Loldrup Fosbøl. They both received a personal reward and money to spend on future research.

I adore, when Mary wears these bright colorful dresses. Seriously, what is not to like? That pink color looks amazing next to her fair skin and dark brown hair. Mary already showed us this lovely No 21 dress before. Among others at the opening of an exhibition on occasion of Crown Prince Frederik's 50th birthday in 2018. At the presentation of the EliteForsk Prizes, Mary had chosen one of her Carlend Copenhagen clutches. I am amazed how well these two colors match. They are almost the exact same shade.

Many years ago, Mary started wearing nude pumps with colorful outfits. A lovely combo. I love this little trick myself. Makes your legs look longer and outfit even more bright. She embraced the style by wearing golden jewellery. Once again, she wore golden earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Incredible design studded with diamonds. The two necklaces from Orit Elhanati and Dulong Fine Jewelry are for sure a favourite combo of hers at the moment. Made me want to wear more necklaces. Rebekka Notkin is the designer of Mary's simple golden bangle. Plain, but outstanding piece. Last, but not least her three-stone ring is also from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Proves how well green and pink matches!

After four years of construction it was time to inaugurate the new emergency department at the Regional Hospital in Randers. And of course such as special event takes a speciel invited guest. That is why the Crown Princess was guest of honor when the new department was officially inaugurated on Tuesday. When she arrived to Randers she was welcomed by lots of kids waving the Danish flag and many of the girls were wearing golden crowns because of the royal visitor. As always was Mary in a splendid mood! Her smile and aroused eyes even made me smile. During her visit she was given a guided tour to see for herself some of the new facilities and met both staff such as patients. I really think it was an honor for Mary to attend the inauguration. A big and laud congratulations from me to Randers with their new emergency department!

No doubt that fall has arrived to Denmark. It is freezing cold at night and during the day we have rather low temperatures. But clearly that is not something Mary has noticed with what she wore visiting Randers on Tuesday. For her, I hope she was wearing sheer thigts or this would have been a really cold experience. Nevertheless, she was beautifully dressed in one of her black Hugo Boss dresses seen at serveral previous events and that gorgeuos dusty blue tweed coat makes a great outfit! Think we have seen this combo before, but I do not know for a fact. Just a qiuck thought. The amazing thing about the blueish knee length coat, is the possibility to wear something burgundy, bordeaux or marron like the incredible Prada pumps. Even better she accessorized the outfit with a suede Hugo Boss clutch seen once or twice before. It was ID by Heaven. I always thought her clutch was burgundy, but now I see that it's purple! She perfectly matched the coat with a Susanne Juul creation. Elegant and almost luxuriously she was styled wearing a black pearl bracelet and a ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry and diamond earrings. You noticce when you see a closeup is that she is in fact wearing a shiny petrol blue nail polish! Something I'm very sure we haven never seen before. So what do you say? Do yo like what you see. I think she looks dazzling.

After the family's vacation in December, we haven't really seen that much of her. Before the vacation we shared her experiences almost every day. That seems quite some time ago now. Usually, the Crown Prince family is also going skiing in Verbiér around this time a year, but it is not the case this year. No official messages have been given, so I can't tell for sure what's the reason. I guess it is because they just arrived home from a whole month abroad.

But now the Crown Princess is back at work. She attended the presentation of the Elite Research Conference as guest of honor. She was also present to hand over awards to some of the most talented scientists in Denmark, who have contributed in an unrivaled way with their research. It was around noon when she arrived to Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in the center of Copenhagen. The Crown Princess was in an excellent mood. She was welcomed by Minister of Research Esben Lunde Larsen, who also accompanied her on stage later on. Speeches were given and recent research results were presented, closely followed by everyone in the room including the Crown Princess.
The winners of the Elite Research Award 2016 are -David Dreyer Lassen (Professor of political economy at the Department of Economics at the University of Copenhagen), Peter Lodahl (Professor of physics at the Niels Bohr Institute at Copenhagen University), Liv Hornekær (Associate professor of physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Aarhus University), Petar Popovski (Professor of communications at the Department of Electronic Systems at Aalborg University) and Mette Rams Thomsen (Professor of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation). Congratulations to all of them with the prestigious award. Each of the five award winners are also given DKK 1,2 million. DKK 200,000 is a personal reward; the rest goes to reserach activities.

For this event I had not idea what to expect of her look. Previous years she has worn darker colours because of the rather cold weather. Last year she appeared in a black leather dress, so this year she could be wearing anything really, here. No leather dress this time. Instead Mary dazzled in her navy blue Elise Gug (Collection: Autumn/Winter 2014) suit. It is around two years since she wore the suit last. It was when she attended the Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women and Girls for Sustainable Development in the ECE Region in Geneva, here. Mary embraced a chic style with stunning golden jewellery from Marianne Dulong, Georg Jensen and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen -three incredible Danish designers. To mention one of the pieces, then the brooch is rather interesting. Worn on a couple of occasions before, for instance in Australis in 2011, here, it has never really been identified for sure. It's told to be from Marianne Dulong. At the arrival she showed of a brand new scarf, in almost the exact same colour as her suit, featuring large black dots and tassels. Not yet found I hope to get your help with this one. I see a label, but can't read what it says. Looks similar to another scarf of hers. With help from Kate, I am able to share that Mary stunned in new Gianvito Rossi pumps. Simply elegant design. Just like the pumps, she had chosen a natural coloured clutch from Naledi Copenhagen. This model is a bit bigger in size than the one she usually wears.

The Cancer Society's Honorary Award 2016

Tuesday, February 4th

Crown Princess Mary attended the presentation of the Cancer Society's Honorary Award 2016 in Skuespilhuset in Copenhagen, on occasion of World Cancer Day.

Earlier in the morning the Crown Princess participated a conference on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Humanitarian Crises at Christiansborg Castle where she gave the opening speech, here. It was a speech which caused quite a stir among the other participants.

In the afternoon she attended the presentation of the Cancer Society's Honorary Award 2016. It is the fourth time she has the pleasure to hand over the award on occasion of World Cancer Day. It took place in Skuespilhuset in Copenhagen. She arrived in an excellent mood with a big smile on her face. She was differently on top of the game. The Crown Princess acted all calm. I think it was a great honor for her to, once again, to present the honorary award. She was clearly moved when entering the stage. Also when she presented the ward to Nurse and youth coordinator Maiken Hjerming. Maiken Hjerming has been nominated by five young cancer patients to receive the award this year. She has helped to launch Kræftværket, which is a hospital ward for young cancer patients aged 15-29. She has several years of experience in how solitude often can be a part of cancer patients life. With the award of DKK 50,000 the Cancer Society want to highlight the special efforts and outstanding example to inspire others to give cancer patients optimal treatment and care, here.

Now we are talking. Mary wore a brand new figure-hugging dress. Shortly after the first pictures were published I received ideas about who could be the designer and the fact that two other royals had worn a similar dress at previous events. Mary was wearing a similar dress as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, on her engagement day, here. Also Duchess Stephanie of Luxembourg has been seen in the same dress. This new blue dress is from Issa. I learned about its identity from Lurdes and Kate. Looks just great on her. A perfect dress for any time a day because of the colour and rather simple style. Mary added a pair of Gianvito Rossi pumps and Prada clutch in a matching colour. Both of these accessories were worn at a birthday party at Tranekær castle on August 8th 2015, here. At the arrival she wore her grey JOSEPH coat as a cape. Lately, she has chosen longer coats and worn them in new ways. She accessorized the outfit with white gold rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and Marianne Dulong earrings featuring a blue drop-shaped pendant. As with the rest of the outfit, her hair and makeup were flawless -a chignon and red berry lips. What's not to love?

Conference at Christiansborg

Tuesday, February 4th

Crown Princess Mary participated a conference on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Humanitarian Crises at Christiansborg in Copenhagen.

Kongehuset.dk

For several years the Crown Princess has committed herself to fight for girls and women's rights and well-being. She had attended countless international- and national conferences, visited countries all around the world listening to stories from those who are closest to the issues. She has also acted keynote speaker at several different conferences worldwide an despite her royal status (where she is not allowed to talk politics in public), she has managed to generate only positive attention to the subject. This time the Crown Princess participated a conference on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Humanitarian Crises at Christiansborg in Copenhagen. She arrived in the afternoon where she was welcomed by Deputy Secretary General in Sex og Samfund Tania Dethlefsen. When the Crown Princess gave the opening speech, she had everyone's attention. Read it here. Story goes that the Crown Princess is not just the only one who want to participate. Waiting lists are created for member who would also like to have attended the conference -which by the way is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Parliamentary All-Party Network for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Sex og Samfund.

Mary was beautifully dressed when she participated the conference on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Humanitarian Crises at Christiansborg. Everything was perfectly suitable for the occasion. Unfortunately, not that many pictures have been published. I happened to find a short clip that gives me an idea of what she was wearing. She dazzled in a black blazer and a white blouse featuring a collar. Have we seen that before? -it reminds me a lot of a new Hugo Boss blouse worn on February 2nd when she received a donation to the Maternity Foundation from Inner Wheel, here. Both blouses features a similar collar. Let me know what you think. The black and white printed pencil skirt is by no doubt a Hugo Boss design. Mary embraced the style with white pearl ring from Marianne Dulong and a pair of earrings we have seen multiple times before from same designer. I caught a glimpse of her shoes and I believe she wore the SAND Copenhagen pumps.

Copenhagen Fashion Week 2016

Crown Princess Mary attended the opening of Copenhagen Fashion Week 2016 at Copenhagen City Hall.

Time for a more detailed post from when the Crown Princess attended Copenhagen Fashion Week 2016 taking place at Copenhagen City Hall. I am all excited about her presents at the fashion week. A couple of years she did not attend, but this year she was. Makes it a little more special and glamourous. The Crown Princess arrived with a great smile on her face and in a splendid mood along with her dear friend Ellen Hillingsø. The fashion week is where the Danish designers show what they have been working on for a whole year. Designers like Baum und Pferdgarten, By Malene Birger and Second Female presented their newest collection on special designed runway going all the way through the city. This year the Crown Princess was present at Tonsure's fashion show, which Countess Alexandra also attended. Unfortunately, I am not sure if they met. They probably did. After the Tonsure show, the Crown Princess attended another show by Jesper Høvring at the prestigious Hotel d'Angleterre. Before leaving she found time to greet the designer with his collection.

I am sure we all noticed Mary's outfit as the first thing when she arrived -everything else would be a little odd, right? She really stunned me with her outfit. Think I am in love. Unbelievably how she always manages to look this good. Have a feeling that you love her new coat as much as I do. A rather coat for her but with heels it doesn't matter at all. Often she wears different Danish designers at the fashion week, which is also the case this time. Kate was able to find her new blue coat at Fonnesbech (Collection: A2 collection), who also participated the event. Kate was a step ahead of me, because I had the same feeling that her coat could be a Fonnesbech design. It is described to be a combination of femininity and power. Matched perfectly with the blue leather Quidam clutch. First glimpse of the rest of her outfit, made me fall in love even more. That wonderful ruffle blouse and new trousers. I manages to identify her blouse as DAY Birger et Mikkelsen and Jennifer found her trousers at Julie Fagerholt Heartmade (Collection: Winter Holiday 2015). Mary accessorized her fabulous outfit with new Jewlscph earrings as Mai Manniche (Jewlscph's designer) proudly commented in a blog post, here, a golden Georg Jensen bracelet and her customized gold ring from Marianne DulongThe golden ring and red nail polish are a great match. Many brands make similar colours of nail polish and you probably already have your very own favourite red nail polish. Last, but not least she wore leopard pumps from Gianvito Rossi. I fell almost humble getting the chance to comment on such as beautiful look.

It is the third time the Crown Princess is present at the presentation of the Women's Board Award. It focuses on skills, not gender. The Women's Board Award launched in 2014 and is inspired by the Norwegian Gabrielsen Award with same focus -skills, not gender. This is a great way for the Crown Princess to show her support on gender equality, though she can't comment on political matter. But somehow she manages to find a balance on what to say; and when to say it. All 200 special invited guests were welcomed by two former winners, Eva Berneke CEO of KMD and Merete Eldrup CEO at TV2. The two of them also gave each their impressive speech. When Merete Eldrup was given the award in 2015, the Crown Princess was the one handing over the award to her. The Crown Princess herself also entered the stage and justified why the jury had chosen Lene Skole, CEO of Lundbeck Foundation as this years winner of the Women's Board Award. In both Danish and English she pointed out how important it is improve possibilities for female leaders and inspire women to reach higher in life.
Mary appeared wearing a grey tweed dress at the presentation of the Women's Board Award 2016. the dress features a beautiful white collar and black belt. She wore it for the first time with powder pink T-strap pumps when visiting the Netherlands in 2015. Here she attended the Global Network of Women's Shelters' Conference, here. At that time it was told to be from Miu Miu, but with some help from Heaven it has now been identified as Prada. I feel almost in love with her dress. So classy and edgy at the same time. Also the Prada pumps are a reuse from when Mary attended the presentation of the Heart Association's Research Award, here. Think they are a way better match with her tweed dress. Grey and burgundy just makes a great outfit. She accessorized her outfit with a pair of Hartmann's diamond earrings and one of her bracelets from Marianne Dulong. Not to forget that stunning burgundy nail polish. To match both shoes and nail polish she added a new suede clutch, which I'm pretty sure is form Hugo Boss, to makes the outfit look even better. I wouldn't mind wearing this outfit myself. Any time a day. Any time a year. I am simply stunned.

New Year Reception with the Women Deliver Committee

We really haven't seen the Crown Princess much lately. Not since beginning of December before she traveled to Australia to celebrate Christmas with her family. After a few New Year receptions and a presentation of the Heart Association's Research Scholarship at Hotel d'Angleterre, here, we haven't seen her since. Maybe she has been preparing for yesterday's event? Here she attended a New Year reception with members of the Women Deliver Committee, who right now is organizing the occurring Wd2016 taking place in Copenhagen from May 16-19th. Lots of high level speakers have already announced their arrival for Wd2016 and every little detail has to be planned because more than 5,000 globals leaders will arrive to Copenhagen. The Crown Princess has by chosen patron of the conference by the committee. She was accompanied by, among others, Minister for Children, Education and Gender Equality Ellen Trane Nørby, Minister of Culture Bertel Haarder and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Jensen. As the first speaker Kristian Jensen arrived a little late because of a previous meeting at Christansborg. Despite the delay, he was in a really great mood such as the Crown Princess. In his speech he praised her highly because of her commitment to the world's largest women's conference and their work.

First thing that hit me about yesterday's outfit was how much it looks like something Princess Marie would wear. I am not quite sure what to think about the combination. A simple outfit with minimal accessories is the best way to describe Mary's look from when she attended the reception. She embraced a rather minimalistic style by wearing slim black trousers and a grey blouse featuring sequin or rhinestone. The blouse is differently new. So far I have had no lucky identifying it. I tried designers like By Malene Birger, DAY Birger et Mikkelsen and 2nd Day. A detail I really like it the fact that she wore a red nail polish and a pair of old pearl earrings from Marianne Dulong. These go way back and we haven't seen them for quite some time. The lack of pictures makes it almost impossible for me to tell if she wore other accessories other than Gianviro Rossi pumps. I guess she must have worn a coat when arriving.

Day 3. New Year reception at Christiansborg

Wednesday, January 6th

Queen Margrethe hosted the third and last new year reception at Christiansborg Palace for Officers from the Armed Forces and the Emergency Management Agency, I., II. and III. social class, and invited representatives of major union confederations and patronages. The Queen arrived by an 165 gold coach. The Crown Prince couple also attended the reception.

Program: Copenhagen
  • 9:00 am. Queen Margrethe drove from Amalienborg Castle to Christiansborg Palace in the gold coach.
  • Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrived to Christiansborg Palace.
  • 9:30 am. Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary greeted Officers from the Armed Forces.
  • 10:00 am. Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary greeted the Emergency Management Agency, social class I., II.
  • 10:30 am. Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary greeted the Emergency Management Agency, social class III.
  • 12:30 pm. Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary greeted the invited representatives of major union confederations and patronages.
  • 1:30 pm. Queen Margrethe drove from Christiansborg Palace to Amalienborg Castle in the gold coach.

As with the two first receptions I have been really excited about the last one held at Christiansborg Castle in Copenhagen. Each one of them are in some way special. On January 1st the biggest evening of them all are celebrated. On January 5th we get to see all the amazing and colourful national costumes when representatives from different countries are invited to a reception and on the 6th of January is tradition that Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik arrive to the reception in the 175 year old gold coach, you find my previous post about the coach. This year Queen Margrethe drove the gold coach by herself. In the meantime all the invited guests arrived, who were served a cop of coffee while waiting for the Queen. Last year I visited the palace with Mette from Royalista, who wrote about our visit, here. Magnificent rooms for a special occasions like this. The Crown Prince couple arrived shortly after the Queen. All of them made a elegant entrance.

Queen Margrethe reused her Jørgen Bender dress and matching blue jacket featuring brown fur, from the day before. A suit she has been wearing for many years on this occasions. Like her mother-in-law, Mary was beautifully dressed in a navy blue gown. At first I was sure we had never seen the dress before, but I was wrong. A good friend of mine reminded of her wearing it just a year ago on the exact same day, here. People tell that it is from Prada, but I am not yet convinced. Something is all wrong about that idea. Nor can I come with my own suggestions because I do not have any. Personally, I think it could be a custom made gown. I should have remembered that. Seems like I got confused because it has been altered around the necklace. Space has been made for her to wear that incredible Marianne Dulong necklace, last seen in October 2010, here. Do you remember the necklace? She embrace the style by wearing earrings, a bracelet and matching ring from the same designer. All featuring black pearls. Mary was also wearing the blue Order of the Elephant and a matching cashmere cape in more or less the same colour. Lurdes convinced me, it is the same as the one she wore then her mother-in-law celebrated her 75th birthday, here. What is your opinion? Unfortunately, I haven't been able to identify it. Black satin pumps from Prada and a blue clutch from Quidam completed one good looking outfit.

The Australian Christmas

The day before Christmas Eve, I think it is about time to give you a resume on how the Crown Prince couple and their four lovely children have spend December in Australia. Because as you now, the family are going to celebrate Christmas in Tasmania with the Crown Princess' family for the first time in 11 years. What I know of the family arrived to Australia one of the first days in December. On December 3rd Mary visited the Children's House SIV, here, which was her last event before leaving the country.

As Daily Mail writes, here, the family have been seen in various locations from the Margaret River region to Ravensthope. Locals know how far these locations are from each other and to the rest of you; it is about six hours each way. They have been spotted at Cowaramup Bakery getting coffee, buying bubblegum in Gnowangerup IGA and enjoying some time with her brother John Donaldson at the Margaret River Chocolate Company in Swan Vally. Everywhere they go, they are  barely noticed. People describe them as down on earth and acting like everybody else.

About a week ago the Crown Princess was spotted shopping with her friend Amber Petty, Princess Isabella and Princess Josephine. In Australia the royal family also enjoy the rather good weather by swimming Mermaid Beach in Queensland. A few days before the 24th the crown Princess was also spotted with some of her friends south of Crystal Castle and Shambhala Gardens in Byron Bays hinterland, here, dressed in a grabbing outfit. She has also been last minutes shopping with some friends wearing white shirts, sipping a smoothie similar in colour to her blouse. Just a few days before the family returned to Denmark, they spend a few more days on the beach.

Update: I received a request from one of you, to do a more specific update on what Mary was wearing during her month in Australia. In first place I decided no to, because I think it is a private vacation and I think they should be on their own without journalists and photographers following each and every step. Still, this is a fashion blog about the Crown Princess, which is why I am now going to inform you about what she has been wearing -but no pictures. Only facts.

Visiting the Children's House SIV

Crown Princess Mary visited the Children's House SIV in Farum on her own request.

I am not completely sure when the Crown Prince couple and their four children are leaving Denmark to celebrate Christmas in Australia along with her family, but it is actually going to happen. This will be the first time in 11 years she is about to spend Christmas with her Australian family.

Before it is time for the family to go to Australia for Christmas, the Crown Princess had one last job to attend back in Denmark. She visited the Children's House SIV, here, in Farum. The initiative is her own and the request as well. It goes a year back when she handed over the Cancer Society Honorary Award in February 2014, here. She showed great interest in the place and wanted to see how the children's house works in everyday. So, the Crown Princess arrived at exactly 10:30 am. At the arrival she was warmly welcomed by Sussi Olsen, head of the Children's House SIV, and Board member Berit Torm. During the visit she was given a guided tour around the house and see for herself how the house is furnished to adapt the children's individual needs. Literally, she was everywhere -talking, chatting, sitting at tables, playing with the kids on the floor and attended a sining game. The sining part is an important part of the process for the children, because one would like to do as much as possible to help the sick children develop skills, done by play and interaction with other children. This is really what the Children's House SIV is all about -to give seriously ill children and their families the best possibilities during at rough time in their lives.

At this last visit before going with the rest of her family to Australia, she showed up wearing a beautiful and chic everyday outfit. Mary was dressed in some good old pieces worn at several other occasions. I sense much confusion about when and where she has worn these pieces before. So, now I have to try to convince you that I'm right. The first time Mary dazzled in that Etoile Isabel Marant knitted jacket was in 2014 when she visited Herlev Hospital to hand over the Child Heart Foundation's Scholarship, here. Like in 2014, she wore the jacket with a knitted skirt. This has now been identified by Kate as a Hugo Boss design. If you got a moment, then take a look at the beautiful kitted pattern. Absolutely smashing. She beautifully embraced the style by wearing black tights and suede Prada boots. I have a similar pair myself and they are perfect for this time a year. With red nails and Marianne Dulong jewellery she completely won my heart with this outfit. A great idea for a different autumn outfit. Differently something I am going to try out myself.

Only lightened up by the car lights and lights from the windows of Fredensborg palace, all guest arrived on Tuesday to attend a concert hosted by Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik. One by one, the royal guest arrive to Fredensborg palace in Copenhagen from 7:00 pm. -first Princess Marie, than Crown Princess Mary and Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik as the last two to arrive. It was more of a 'girls-night-out' because the Princess and Crown Princess attended on their own without their husbands. The concert took place in the church of Fredensborg Palace. The music was performed by Christian IX' ensemble and singers from Sønderjysk Choir. Throughout the years, the Queen and Prince have hosted many concerts and dinners to honor different groups of the Danish society. Now it was time for the Queen and Prince to honor the tourism industry, because of their hard work with the over 20 million foreign visitors who annually visit Denmark. The four royal family members had each their own red velvet chair to sit on during the concert. Around 8 o'clock, an hour after everyone arrived, the guests as well as the royal family members went to the Dome Hall to attend the following souper (french for 'a late evening dinner') where a lovely dinner were served -fish, lobster, pumpkin pie, apple fromage and lots of other delicious things. The Dome Hall were beautifully decorated with round tables, golden chairs, emerald glasses, silver plates and pink/red flowers. They really know how to decorate a room for a royal dinner. At the time when all the guests arrived to the Dome Hall, the entree were already served.

Matching the night's theme, both Mary and Marie were dressed in black, red and pink. I kinda like that Marie wore a skirt and a blouse, which was in a really great bright colour but I do not understand in a million year what is going on with that skirt? It is some kind of ruffles or...? Like her mother-in-law, Mary wore a really elegant new black lace dress. It features long sleeves and a round neckline. The more I look at the dress; I have the feeling that I might have seen a style like this before. The way the dress is made all with the lace part. Now when I know the dress is from Prada I understand why I had seen the style before. One of Mary's favourite designers to wear. I was looking for something else and found this evenings dress worn by Isabella Ferrari at the Women's Tales Dinner during the 72nd Vernice Film Festival, here. Knee-length dresses has always been her favourite and the length also suit her perfectly. It looks appropriate and elegant at the same time. Very feminine for her age and status. As Queen of the night, Mary looked like a movie star wearing a bright red lipstick and black eyeshadow. The curly hair reminds me so much of the 40s wavy hair which just gave me the chance to share a real vintage photo with you of the graceful actress Veronica Lake, here. The most classy outfit for women to wear at any evening event is, by no doubt, the combo of black and red. Mary accessorized her evening outfit with her diamond earrings from Marianne Dulong, a black clutch and black patent pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

On wednesday 4th the Crown Princess arrived by plane to the Netherlands where she was welcomed by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. Along with Queen Máxima, the two royal women attended the Global Network of Women's Shelters' Conference in The Hague. As I told you yesterday, the conference deals with any aspects of finding the solutions to combat violence against women all over the world. The Crown Princess has for several years worked hard to give girls and women a better life without violence. Because of her commitment, she has become member of the International Panel ICPD's High Level Task Force and as patron of the UN Population Fund and the Maternity Worldwide. Not to forget, she is the chairman of the Mary Foundation working in areas such as domestic violence against women, where there were be two workshops. This is among others why she takes part in the conference. She participated in several panel discussions, workshops and activities accompanied by Queen Máxima, but also on her own representing not all these organizations but also the small country Denmark. A couple of hours before she attended one more panel discussion at the World Forum, she paid a visit to the highly secured International Criminal Courts new buildings in The Hague which are designed by the Danish architectural firm schmidt hammer lassen. The new buildings will be put at the disposal of the staff around the turn of the year after which it will be the court for various war crimes. She also met some Danish companies working with design, architecture and construction represented in the Netherlands. She arrived to the new court buildings in great spirit despite the fact she for two busy days had tried to help world's women who have been exposed to violence, physically and mentally.

After her visit at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the Crown Princess went back World Forum and for one more day, she participated in panel discussions. As Queen of the Netherlands Máxima led the first day of the conference and gave a very fine speech at the opening. Her speech is 10 minutes, here. On the 5th the Crown Princess acted as keynote speaker and for more than 20 minutes, twice as long as Máxima, she beautifully spoke, in her native language english, about why they all were gathered, her future hopes for the project and why it's so important to share knowledge and experiences to try to prevent violence again girls and women all over the world, here. I haven't had the time to watch the whole speech, but from what I've heard she is really committed and honored to be a part of such an important work. I have never been that interested in speeches as I have recently. She is a natural speaker and her words come easily.

Even after so many years following Mary I still have a hard time to tell why I love her style so much. She can wear the most funny printed piece of clothes and still look absolutely great. I think it is because of her personality -that special glow. This time she donned in a grey figure hugging dress in tweed. Differently new. I just received a link to an article about the new 007 James Bond movie, here. This has really nothing to do with Mary's attendance in the Netherlands, but actress Léa Seydoux wears the exact same dress. Everything Léa has worn in connection with this new movie are from by Prada and Miu Miu. Heaven is the one who found Mary's new tweed dream at Prada. The style of the dress reminded me of several different designers, but so far non of them have been the one I'm looking for. Tweed is the perfect fabric to wear at autumn. Everything from clothes to hair and makeup looks splendid. As the day before she wore her diamond earrings from Hartmann's and the silver Cartier watch. The black pearl bracelet is from Marianne DulongAs with the dress, the nude handbag is from Prada. If it is even possible to love anything more than her new dress, it's her powder pink t-strap Pura Lopez (fall-winter 2015/16) pumps. I know they will never be mine, but I'm allowed to dream right? These goes back to when she an event in the Danish Parliament wearing her silk dress from YDE Copenhagen, here. At that time I got obsessed trying to identify them. I searched for hours, I even contacted multiple designers to find out where her powder pumps were from. In the end I contacted Pura Lopez and we got a winner.

Free of Bullying seminar

October, Thursday 8th

Crown Princess Mary attended a Free of Bullying seminar with the Mary Foundation in Tivoli Congress Centre in Copenhagen.
Billedbladet.dk

Early in the morning the Crown Princess arrived to the Tivoli Congress Centre in Copenhagen to attend a international Free of Bullying seminar with the Mary Foundation. She was in a really great mood at the arrival such as during the day, probably before of the fact that countries around the world try to combat bullying among children. Something the Crown Princess and the foundation have been working for in years now. Representatives from both Greenland, Estonia, Iceland, Lithuania and the Faroe Islands had traveled to Denmark to cooperate and exchange experience in anti-bullying program Free of Bullying. All the participants were ready to get a couple of good hours along with the Crown Princess. There was plenty of time to discuss ideas on how the different countries best fight against bullying, which is the main goal with the Free of Bullying project made by the Mary Foundation. As far as I know the idea comes from the Australian foundation Alannah and Madeline Foundation, which also gave the Crown Princess the idea about what her own foundation should focus on. The Crown Princess also gave the opening speech where she pointed out how glad she is that so many people have taken the initiative to prevent bullying among children. Such as how and with which tools this can be done. I think it was a proud Crown Princess who got the chance to welcome the 30 representatives participating the seminar. One thing I noticed in her speech, is the importance to create an environment where children feel good and have the courage to be who they are.
Later in the afternoon the participants of the seminar visited a kindergarden in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, to see for themselves how the Free of Bullying-project works. Because of the successful results, the project has now attracted international attention that's why the anti-bullying program has now gone global. It has already helped so many children in Denmark and Greenland. The Crown Princess met with some of these children a few year ago when she visited Greenland with the Mary Foundation. I think the program is made for success and I really hope it will be able to help many more children, such as young people, to a better life without bullying and give them tools to prevent bullying in the future. What I'm aware of the project also helps children to know what to do when they see someone being bullied. Another important aspect of combating bullying.

Then let's talk fashion. Mary was dressed in the most incredible outfit at the seminar. Very edgy with a touch of that special "Mary-fairy-dust". I fell in love with her outfit right away. I adore every single part of it. The quote "less is more" perfectly describe today's outfit. I wouldn't doubt for a second if anyone asked me to wear this. Most of her outfit was identified before I had even had the time to write the post, which also goes with her new long navy blue vest. The credit goes to Else-Marie who was able to identify this new wonder as 2nd Day. A designer we have never seen Mary wear before. 2nd Day is create by the designers from DAY Birger et Mikkelsen. These vest's or sleeveless coats are the most trendy and fashionable to purchase this Autumn. I completely get it -they look magnificent. This is the second time we get to see Mary wear such a piece. I am sure you remember her peach vest from Fonnesbech. When wearing that, she was quickly voted the most stylish royal woman. She embraced the chic style by wearing a white Hugo Boss blouse and black trousers. Once again she had chosen to wear her nude Prada handbag, matched with new pointed pumps from Prada. As other jewellery she stunned wearing her golden Orit Elhanati necklace and two Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen rings. I also spotted another small necklace, which I strongly believe we have seen before years ago. To be more precise in 2010 when Queen Margrethe celebrated her 70th birthday, here. Marianne Dulong is the designer of her golden earrings featuring diamonds. I simply can't get enough of this look.
