The Psychiatric Fundation 30th Anniversary

February 25, 2026

More than 20 years have pasted since the Queen first entered as patron for the Psychiatric Foundation. On February 25th, she attended the foundation's 30th anniversary at a wonderful celebration at Moltkes Palace in Copenhagen.

Queen Mary truly represented the foundation with style when attending the anniversary. She looked great in her reused navy blue Red Valentino embellished dress, Prada belt and bright yellow Manolo Blahnik pumps. Why am I alway this thrilled when she wears colored shoes? I also loved that little trick with a matching yellow satin YSL clutch. Even the Annikat earrings embraced a little yellow.

When given a speech on occasion of the anniversary, the Queen put on a pair of dusty rose glasses. I'm yet to identify them.

30 Danish artists participated a very special exhibition taking place as part of the anniversary. They had each created an original elephant sculpture - an artwork and subject to start a conversation.

Day 1. Official visit to the Faroe Islands

Tórshavn

June 11, 2025

Arrival at Tórshavn

King Frederik and Queen Mary are on official visit to the Faroe Islands from June 11-13th. Princess Josephine accompanied her parents.

The three of them made a private to Koltur a day prior to them arriving in Tórshavn on June 11.

The King, Queen and Princess were officially welcomed in Tórshavn Wednesday around noon. Then a reception followed in Tinganes and a visit at Lagtinget. They were also welcomed at Tórshavnar Kommune.

They were then served lunch before visiting við Tjarnir. Queen Mary also payed a visit to the school Glyvra Skúli.

On the first day in Tórshavn the couple wore their traditional Faroese national costume. Mary received hers on the couple's first visit to the Faroe Islands in 2005. Both the clothes and silver pieces of jewellery were custom-made for her. I think her the "butterfly" brooch was a gift from their visit in 2018.

Mary accessorized her outfit with fine diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and the most beautiful updo. I missed these stunning hairstyles. Did you also spot the shiny diamond ring?

Her black ankle boots are old ones from Gianvito Rossi. Mary first wore them at the birthday celebration of Queen Margrethe in 2015.

Dinner at Hotel Føroyar

Attorney General Aksel V. Johannesen hosted an official dinner at Hotel Føroyar with King Frederik and Queen Mary as guests of honor. Both Aksel V. Johannesen and the King addressed their gratitude with a speech before the dinner.

Mary also wore her amazing traditional Faroese national costume. The green, red and black costume is really beautiful next to her fair skin and dark brown hair. Her embraced the style at Hotel Føroyar with an embellished Ellen Hunter hair comb. The comb has been seen on a couple of other events.

Earlier that day Mary received a magnificent gift. A set of silver jewellery. The earrings, necklace and matching cuff are a gift from talented Niels Large. I truly hope she will be wearing the set soon again. The design is marvelous.

This is Mary's fourth pair of Manolo Blahnik's iconic 'Hangisi' satin jewel buckle pumps. We have seen her wear them in grey, yellow and blue. Look closely and you will see an old Bottega Veneta clutch in black satin.

20 years with the Crown Prince Couple's Awards

05 November 2024

It was a very special anniversary which was about to be celebrated when the King and Queen arrived at VEGA in Copenhagen. They were about to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Crown Prince Couple's Awards! The anniversary was celebrated with a show organized by Denmark's Radio. The show was broadcasted on Danish TV.

The couple were welcomed by Maria Rørbye, General Director of Denmark's Radio and CEO of Bikubenfonden Søren Kaare-Andersen.

King Frederik and Queen Mary opened the show with a speech. They shared their warmest greetings to all award winners throughout the years, who have contributed to make a difference in arts, culture and social life in Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Iceland.

The couple also announced that from now on, they will be presenting awards under the name "The Royal Couple's Awards".

Two-piece or jumpsuit? That is the big question. Mary was indeed wearing a reused black Max Mara jumpsuit. She first wore it at the presentation of the Danish Rainbow Award in 2020. Personally, I prefer that outfit from tonight - expect from her hairstyle. I like the soft curly hair from 2020. Makes a great match with the sleek jumpsuit.

I absolutely ADORE her wearing satin yellow accessories. The bright colored Prada clutch and the reused embellished Manolo Blahnik pumps are a wonderful choice. I love a splash of color! The details are exquisite. What is not to like?

Did you notice that huge yellow ring? Such a beautiful addition to her stunning outfit. The earrings almost deserve a post on their own. Her incredible new diamond earrings are creations from Julie Sandlau!

Day 6.

Official visit to Greenland

04 July 2024

A day in Nuuk

The royal family has already spend five days in Greenland and now the four of them have arrived in Nuuk. They were warmly welcomed when arriving with Dannebrog. The official welcoming was at the City Hall. Later, followed a guided tour at Nuuk's new school Atuarfik Inussuk.

Before visiting Nuuk's new airport, King Frederik and Queen Mary attended lunch with Naalakkersuisut - the Greenlandic Government and the Presidency of Inatsisartut.

Once again, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine accompanied their parents.

Mary looked so elegant in her Greenlandic national costume. The colors are so vivid. I adore the combination of materials and colors. The fact that it is handmade makes it even more impressive. Mary was gifted the costume on her first official visit in Greenland in 2004.

On occasion of her 50th birthday, her costume was exhibited at Koldinghus in Kolding as part of the exhibition 'Mary and the Crown Princesses'. I visited the exhibition and the costume is even more beautiful in reality. Did you know that the costume also comes with a clutch and a matching brooch to the earrings?

She also wore the matching handbag, shoes and fine earrings. Such as a diamond ring from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Nuuk's new airport

After a quick change of clothes, the four of them visited Nuuk's new airport. They were given a guided tour around the facilities. Maybe one day, they will land an airplane in the new airport?

King Frederik and Queen Mary also visited a workshop. The craftsmen are currently working on a memorial stone in honor of polar explorer Arnarulunnguaq. She was the only female polar explorer participating the world-famous fifth Thule expedition in 1921-1924.

I have absolutely nothing bag to say about her daytime outfit. Love every single part of it. The color-combo is splendid. That soft pink Hugo Boss silk satin blouse, elegant grey JOSEPH trousers and a matching suede Ralph Lauren belt.

How often have you worn pink and grey? 10 points goes to Mary for this combo. She embraced the chic style by wearing a black midi wool-blend coat.

Mary had chosen the handbag matching her Greenlandic national costume. I LOVE THAT! What a gesture. The Rosequartz earrings are custom-made by Dulong Fine Jewelry. She has worn them on a number of occasions. My archive counts 58 events. Like in 2011, when the couple left Rigshospitalet with their newborn twins. Or presenting the 'Government's Integration Prize' in 2009.

Official dinner at Katuaq

In the evening, King Frederik and Queen Mary attended Naalakkersuisut's official dinner at the Culture House Katuaq in Nuuk. The royal couple were invited as guests of honor.

The Chairman of Naalakkersuisut (the Greenlandic Government) Múte Bourup Egede welcomed the couple when they arrived to Katuaq.

King Frederik gave a speech at the evenings dinner:

"It is possible to fall in love with a people and a country?" - It is. I can confirm that. Greenland has a ver special meaning to my family and I. Queen Mary and I are therefor pleased to be here along with Prince Vincent Minik and Princess Josephine Ivalo."

Minik and Ivalo are the sibling's Greenlandic names.

Now we are talking. I am rarely disappointed with Mary's evening outfits but this one is simply exquisite! I learned from Royal Fashion Police that she wore a brand new Teri Jon by Rickie Freeman evening dress. The dress has been altered a bit. It got a smaller collar and a waist-band instead of a ribbon.

Do you like the alterations? - I am a huge fan.

Her stunning earrings and matching pendants are smashing creations by talented Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Mary wore the earrings in 2022 when attending an official dinner on occasion of King Willlem-Alexander and Queen Maxima's visit in Denmark. We also get a glimpse of a reused diamond bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

The fine snakeskin box clutch is a Judith Leiber design - one of Mary's absolute favorite evening clutches and (of course) her magnificent golden leather pumps from Manolo Blahnik.

Day 1.

Official state visit to Norway

14 May 2024

On their way to Oslo

The King and Queen just participated an official state visit to Sweden and are now on their way to visit Norway. They are spending time on board Dannebrog and is arriving in Oslo by the royal ship.

The couple shared a photo of the two of them a few hours before arriving in Oslo.

What an amazing photo! I love the whole atmosphere. Casual and relaxed. Mary looked beautiful in a simple black and white striped Max Mara blouse, probably jeans an a lightweight navy blue down vest from Yeti.

Best guess is that she matched the casual outfit with a pair of sneakers. The blue Gucci sunglasses are a reuse. First worn when inaugurating the hiking route 'Skudestien' in August 2023.

Official welcoming

King Frederik and Queen Mary arrived at Honnørbryggen in Oslo around noon and were warmly welcomed by the Norwegian royal family. What a sight! Followed by an official welcoming ceremony at Det Kongelige Slott.

The couple then attended a ceremony at the memorail site ' The National Monument' for the victims of the war in 1940-1945. They also had the pleasure of meeting the President of the Parliament Masud Gharahkhani before having lunch at Kongsgården.

Wauw! Mary looked absolutely stunning when the couple arrived in Oslo, Norway. So polished and elegant. Love how she matched her reused plain white Ralph Lauren jacket with that paisley printed Erdem skirt. She emphasized her slim waist beautifully with a dusty pink belt. Great color!

What Mary do best is color-combinations. Especially, when she wears accessories in the same color palette. Like the belt, Max Mara handbag and exclusive pointed Gianvito Rossi pumps. I am always amazed how she is able to find matching colors even crossing designers.

I am sure you noticed her fine earrings. Mary inherited them from Queen Margrethe - who actually wore them on her official 18th birthday portrait. Mary first wore them in 2012. According to Billed Bladet, Mary's new brooch also belonged to Queen Margrethe. It goes back to Queen Lovisa.

Visit at 'Oslo Science City' and 'MiNaLab'

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit accompanied King Frederik and Queen Mary, when the couple paid a visit at 'MiNaLab' which is part of Oslo University and it an open laboratory for students and scientists.

The royal couple were given an insight into current research in microchips and the potential of quantum technology, such as the cooperation between Norway and Denmark on the green transition.

Love how Mary and Mette-Marit matched their outfits. Both wearing a fine blouse and wide-legged trousers. Mary had chosen a brand new blue and white striped button-down from Bagutta and old Chloe trousers. The color is simply wonderful. Never really thought about paring blue and brown.

She also wore a rather new brown leather handbag from Anya Hindmarch. First seen on May 7th 2024. We also get a glimpse of new Malone Souliers mules. I am not their biggest fan, but Mary wear them with such elegance.

Her stunning jewellery are Orit Elhanati earrings, a golden diamond studded Halberstadt necklace and a custom-made ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Splendid combo!

Gala dinner at Det Kongelige Slott

What a wonderful night it was when King Harald and Queen Sonja hosted a prestiges gala dinner at Det Kongelige Slott in Oslo.

Both Crown Prince Haakon, his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Astrid also attended the fine dinner.

It was indeed a magical night! Everybody looked so happy and all were well-dressed. Loved Queen Sonja's dress. The color is amazing. Reminds me a bit about one of Mary's Jesper Høvring dresses. Crown Princess Mette-Marit also looked beautiful in her two-piece.

Nevertheless, Mary took my breath away in her altered Birgit Hallstein dress. The Danish tailor really did a great work with her old gowns from from 2015. It is hard to believe it is even the same dress. Completely transformed. I adore the new details!

What's even more fantastic, is that Mary wore the exquisite Danish Pearl Poiré Parure - previously worn by among others Queen MargretheQueen Ingrid and Princess Louise. Read more about the parure at 'The Royal Watcher'.

She also embraced the evenings outfit with a reused silver clutch, her beloved Halberstadt necklace and shiny Manolo Blahnik pumps.

The Army's Medal of Honor Dinner

26 September 2023

Every year, Queen Margrethe host a very special dinner. One year for the Navy, the next for the Army and then one following year for the Air Force. It is a way for the Queen to thank and honor those servering Denmark.

This year it was time to honor employees of the Army. Employees who served 25 years in the Danish Defence. The Army's Medal of Honor dinner took place at Fredensborg (here).

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary also attended the prestiges dinner.

Mary first wore this incredible evening gown and matching jacket back in January 2019 at the Navy's Medal of Honor dinner (here). It is a bespoke set for females of the Danish Defences. Just as the men wear a special uniform for events like these, this has become the women's uniform. Mary also wore her uniform decorated with her medal's and the Order of the Elephant.

She beautifully styled her uniform with delicate earrings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and fine heckles from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. We also get a glimpse of a reused hair comb from Ellen Hunter. She has a matching one in silver.

Mary first wore this golden hair comb in 2013, when attending CHIO Equestrian Festival along with Princess Benedikte (here).

As other accessories, she had chosen an old black box clutch from Louis Vuitton and shiny golden Manolo Blahnik nappa leather pumps.

Day 1. Official visit from Norway

15 June 2023

BUSINESS CONFERENCE

King Harald and wife Queen Sonja of Norway are on official visit in Denmark these days. They were warmly welcomed by Queen Margrethe earlier in the morning.

In the afternoon, the Crown Prince Couple accompanied the pair at a business conference at Dansk Industri in Copenhagen (here).

I'm always a big fan of her reused outfits! It's very inspirational to see how little has to change before it looks like a completely new outfit. That is what happened at the business conference at Dansk Industri.

Mary embraced the style of an old outfit - a stunning blue Victoria Beckham blouse and a floral printed Paul & Joe skirt. She first wore this look at the inauguration of Herlev's new emergency room and women-child center in 2021 (here).

As jewellery, Mary had chosen magnificent aquamarine earrings purchased at Bruun Rasmussen Auction many years ago. Actually, she first wore them in 2004! The golden bangle is from Rebekka Notkin and her delicate diamond rings are from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

A closer look revealed that Mary was also wearing a brand new P. Hertz bracelet. Amazing piece of work. Hope we are going to see this bracelet many more times from now on.

The fine quilted handbag is a Chanel design and a wonderful match with the beige python pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

DINNER, AMALIENBORG

It had already been a wonderful day for the King and Queen of Norway since they arrived in Copenhagen. They were welcomed by Queen Margrethe, when they arrived by ship from Oslo. Around noon, the Crown Prince Couple accompanied the three of them for a business conference.

In the evening, King Harald and Queen Sonja were invited to dinner with Queen Margrethe as hostess. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary also attended the dinner taking place at Chrisitan VII's Palace at Amalienborg (here).

The arrival and following dinner were broadcasted live on Danish tv (here).

Mary was dressed like a cotton candy dream wearing her reused MaxMara evening gown. She first wore the gown in 2017, when attending the 80th birthday celebration of King Harald and Queen Sonja (here). I love the idea of her wearing the exact same dress now in Denmark honoring their visit.

When did she wear it best? In 2017 or now in 2023.

At the dinner, Mary embraced the dreamy evening outfit with a reused tiara and matching earrings. She has worn this combo on a number of different occasion since 2015. The tiara was then purchased at Bruun Rasmussen.

Her fine 'F'-necklace is her beloved Halberstadt creation. A beautiful dedication to her husband. At the dinner, Mary matched it with a "new" necklace. Till now, she has worn the 'F'-necklace with a Julie Sandlau necklace. This second one is still unidentified. The same goes with her bracelets and huge ring.

The golden leather pumps are old ones from Manolo Blahnik. I always had the idea that these pumps are suuuuuuper comfortable to wear. I have heard that Blahnik's should be really good heels for all-day wear.

Mary also embraced the evening style with a SERPUI box clutch.

Official dinner for Denmark's honorary consuls

14 June 2023

The Crown Prince Couple arrived by boat to the Opera to attend an official dinner for Denmark's honorary consuls (here). They were accompanied by the Danish minister of Foreign Affairs Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

The honorary consuls assists the country's embassies around the world. For the last couple of days, the consuls have been gathered in Sønderborg to talk green transition with a focus on energy efficiency.

Crown Prince Frederik is patron for the meeting were 230 of the 341 honorary consuls were gathered in Denmark from June 12-14th.

I completely missed this event in her calendar. So I was very surprised to see photos of the couple on my social media, arriving to the Opera attended the official dinner. And wauw, Mary looked like a movie star at the dinner. That Moss & Spy dress is simply incredible. It is a reuse. Mary wore it first in 2019 (here) and then again in 2021 (here). The soft blue color is beautiful on her.

Love that she chose same-color earrings and a Christian Dior clutch. Dulong Fine Jewelry is the talented designer of her earrings. They come with a number of different pendants. Mary has worn these blue ones before (here, here, here). She also embraced the outfit with some bracelets and a couple of Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen diamond rings.

Seems like her grey Manolo Blahnik pumps are a favorite of hers at the moment because she also wore them in Jordan in beginning of June (here).

The wedding of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan & Miss Rajwa Khalid Alseif

01 June 2023

WEDDING CEREMONY

Royals from all over the world were invited to Amman in Jordan to attend the glamorous wedding of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Miss Rajwa Khalid Alseif - now Princess Rajwa.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary represented Denmark at the wedding.

Beautiful as always! Mary indeed wore an award winning outfit at the wedding ceremony in Amman. It is the fourth time she is wearing that floral printed Erdem dress.

First, she wore it in 2017 when celebrating King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway's 80th birthday (here). A couple of years later, Mary stunned again at the 20th anniversary of the American Chamber og Commerce (here). Last but not least, she wore the incredible Erdem dress at the wedding of Prince Gustav and Carina Axelsson in 2022 (here).

At the wedding in Jordan, she embraced the elegant style as wedding guest with a soft grey belt and a matching large hair bow. Never thought we would every see Mary wear a bow like this. Very chic. Clever of her to wear her old grey Manolo Blank pumps.

The delicate golden necklaces are from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. All-time favorites at the moment. The custom-made diamond earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry have been in Mary's jewellery box for many years. They come with several different pendants - among others, these diamond drop-shaped ones.

WEDDING RECEPTION

In the evening, Crown Prince Hussein and his wife (now Crown Princess Rajwa) hosted an overwhelming wedding reception for their wedding guests. This gave royals from all over the world the opportunity to engage a little chat.

More than 1,700 people were invited to the evening reception and following dinner at the Palace Al Husseiniya.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary also attended the reception.

I get it if Danish designer Jesper Høvring is proud to see her dress in Jordan at the prestigious wedding. It is indeed a big deal.

Mary first wore the dress for the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling in 2010 (here). A year later, she showed up at a charity dinner in Australia wearing an altered version of the dress (here). She also stunned wearing the gown when celebrating Prince Joachim's 50th birthday in 2019 (here). Now, Jesper Høvring changed the dress once again. It is indeed beautiful and perfect for the occasion, but a small part of me still loves the first design most.

What design is your favorite? 2010, 2011 or 2023.

Better photos then revealed that Mary embraced her princess-like outfit with a rather new tiara purchased at Bruun Rasmussen Auction and earrings matching. She also wore a few bracelets and a fine ring. All of it looked perfect with both gown, clutch, shoes - and hairdo.

We also have a glimpse of her golden necklaces from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau.

Day 4. Business promotion visit in India

01 March 2023

For three days, the Crown Prince Couple have been accompanied by a business delegation of 36 Danish companies in India. They are attending a business promotion visit to promote the green transition with main focus on water and energy.

On their last day, they split up during the day and had jobs to do on their own. While Crown Prince Frederik visited IIT Madras Research Park, his wife visited the Larsen & Toubro - an Indian based engineering company that work with both industry, energy, electronics, IT, construction, etc. The Crown Princess also visited the Henning Holck-Larsen Museum located next to Larsen & Toubro's Headquarters in Chennai.

Crown Princess Mary also paid a visit to the Headquarters of Grundfos. The reason for her visit was a seminar on water sector cooperation between Denmark and India. The Crown Princess gave a speech at the opening of the seminar.

The couple accompanied each other when they were welcomed by Tamil Nadu's Governor H.E. R. N. Ravi.

In the evening, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended a final reception to end the business promotion with style. The business delegation from Denmark also attended the reception. The commitment between Denmark and Tamil Nadu was celebrated. After the reception followed a dinner with Grundfos. They celebrate their 25th anniversary doing business in India.

During the day in Chennai, India

Those of you who have followed Style of Mary for some time will know that I am totally in love with suits. Especially, when Mary wears them. I get chills every time she chooses to wear one of her suits - or just color matching outfits. Looks good on her. This brown suit is no exception. Just look at her! Isn't that an incredible outfit? Actually, she has worn the trousers once before, when attending the launch of UNFPA's "State of World Population Report 2022" (here). But the blazer is never seen before. I learned that Mary's blazer is also from marvelous Max Mara. The same goes with her new white blouse as well. Can't get enough of this outfit. Wauw.

Mary embraced the look with some smashing pieces of jewellery. She repeated wearing necklaces from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. If the symbolism is what we have come to believe, then it is even more precious. We get a glimpse of a diamond bangle from Ole Lynggard Copenhagen and a beautifully crafted ring from Rebekka Notkin as well. Of course - the earrings. At the moment, I do not know a thing about them.

When Mary first wore the Malone Souliers heels, I was no fan (at all!). Thought they looked a bit odd and funny. I changed my mind. This is a perfect example of how much ones mind can change, when a piece of accessory is worn differently.

At the final reception and anniversary dinner

In the evening, Mary had changed to something a bit more glamorous. She had chosen an old custom-made dress made by Søren Le Schmidt. She first wore it for the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes award show in 2020 (here). I like it a bit more this time. Don't know why but I do.

Mary was wearing stunning diamond and Aquamarine blue earrings once purchased on an Bruun Rasmussen auction. They go way back. She has worn them on a number of different occasions. Like, when visiting New York in 2005 (here) and in 2013, when Denmark hosted an official visit from Finland (here). Once again, she also wore her Halberstadt og Julie Sandlau necklaces. The diamond bangle from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen is also the same as earlier. She added a golden piece from Dulong Fine Jewelry as well.

A couple of days prior to the final reception, Mary accessories a look with her pink satin box clutch from Bottega Veneta (here). She repeated that success. The magnificent light grey satin pumps are delicate creations from Manolo Blahnik.
